Description of Work: Ricky was wonderful. He showed up on time, and informed me that my air conditioning system did NOT, in fact, have a problem at all - it is just a bit undersized for the house. I paid a very reasonable charge for him to come out and evaluate the situation. I will definitely use him again!

Description of Work: Provided routine service on 2 forced air Heating and Air Conditioning units. Had to trouble shoot main floor unit because of poor cooling. Added several pounds of Freon and provided quote on new upgraded unit. Description of Work: This is the first job I have had done through Angie's List. To say I am pleased is an understatement. He was able to come one day after I called him. He even showed up a little early. My a/c is now working. The price was very reasonable, he was professional and got the job done quickly. He went the extra mile and even helped my husband level the compressor outside. Job well done, will call him again.

Description of Work: We wanted to get a second opinion on our small heat pump that has had some leakage problem. Mr. Robinson arrived on time. He found the the small unit was 1 1/2 lbs low on R-22. He checked leaks both visually and with a sniffer. The leaks were so small that he could not locates them. He stated that the unit is considered as an 'annual leaker'. Meaning that the leaks are so small that it takes a year for them to drain the unt (NOTE: This was the same thing another company had told us 6 months prior). The air handler was is poor shape also. A complete check was made to develop an estimate of a replacement unit. He check our large unit and found it operating properly, but noted that it was showing some age and probably will need to replaced in 2-3 years. He did mention that the R-22 refrigerant will contiue to climb in cost making repairing the small unit expensive and not cost effective (it needs about 5 lbs of R-22 (@ $60 / lb today) to keep it running for a year. We considered the work very professional.

Description of Work: My bonus room was not getting cool. Mr. Robinson quickly determined that the issue was a vent problem in the attic system so he corrected it and quickly got the cool air coming into the room. He also checked the freon in the system to make sure that it did not need to be recharged. He answered all of my questions about the AC system.

+ -1 moreI found Ricky's number here and called around 4pm. He called back at 5:30 and offered to come out the next morning. He was at my house promptly at 8am. He checked my 9 year-old system and found a leaky coil and low freon. He recommended charging the freon and hoping that it lasts for the rest of the year. Ricky was professional and reasonably priced. He didn't try a hard sell for a new system or expensive repairs that may not be warranted. Whatever happens with my system (a new freon charge after a year or more, or a new coil, or a new system) I will probably use him again.
Description of Work: He measured the freon in my system, found it low, and charged it with 3 lbs. He also found a leak in my coil.

He thoroughly assessed the problem and had it repaired in less than 30 minutes. He checked everything out before leaving and my unit now works better than it did before the problem started. I highly recommend Ricky. He is very professional, honest, and knows what he is doing. He gets the job done promptly and his rates are very reasonable. I would definitely use his services again.

+ -1 moreBefore I continue, I want you to know that I checked everything Robinson said and every price with 2 other AC professionals I have worked with and all he told me was true and right. Had either of them been available I would have used them, BUT, neither of them had yet to install a 410A system. Robinson has installed a dozen or more. I want to follow up on the line set and the type of change I made. At the end of this year the R22 freon type system will no longer be made...the new systems will all be 410A systems. Some installations will require a larger line set (bigger copper pipe) but some will not. I asked Robinson to check with Westinghouse and they said they preferred a 7/8" line over the 3/4" line that I have BUT...my line (like most) are in the walls of the house. A new line would mean tearing out the walls or running a new line on the outside of the 2 story house where even the best insulation would not be as good as in the wall. The price of the entire unit was $2000 installed and running. All the smallest details and clean up was handled just right.
Description of Work: My 3 ton air conditioner compressor went out on Sunday...Monday was a holiday too, but a friend recommended that I call Rickey Robinson first thing Tuesday morning. Rickey was here in 30 minutes. He diagnosed the problem and laid out the options and pricing of each option. I wound up with a new 3 ton Westinghouse system (outside compressor unit and new coil unit) installed and working perfectly by 5pm Tuesday. I got a 10 year manufacturer's warranty and a one year labor warranty from Rickey Robinson. My one year warranty with Robinson also stated that if a different/larger line set became necessary because the unit was not working at full capacity, he we install the 40 feet of 7/8" copper piping at no cost to me.
