Description of Work: Brant and his team were great partners in the historical restoration of our bathrooms. We had a complicated plan (that got more complicated as we progressed and added additional scope to the project) and they worked very hard to be sure that our vision was realized while making sure what we wanted to do was possible within the constraints of working on a nearly centuries old structure that had been subjected to prior renovations. The quality of the work and friendly professionalism of the crews was outstanding. We would most definitely recommend A&K!!!!

Description of Work: With a baby expected in the next six weeks, the bedroom needed remodeling, which I was doing myself, but the floor was so uneven, requiring adjustments. Brant worked with me to manage the cost and gave great advice throughout to help me manage the room as we fixed the problem of the uneven floor (which was significant of a half inch). Brant had come out a couple times to ensure the proper plan, as we started to uncover the floor, we found carpenter ants and water damage from the previous homeowner (roof leak). Brant had helped to schedule an exterminator the same day he was there to pull up the sub floor to make sure the job was completed appropriately and did not become an issue later. Also, pulled back part of the wall where the old roof leak occurred, and had a restoration company come in and check if any moisture was still present. Throughout the process, he kept saying "we have to make sure the room is set for the baby to move in." Clearly, his goal was my goal: to ensure safe and comfortable room for our child. The team did an excellent job fixing the floor and the wall, and he knew there was a lot that I wanted to remodel on my own and gave great tips that DIYers need.

Description of Work: Same report as previous commenter. I called for an estimate (actually, I just wanted the work done!) to have a bathroom sink and vanity installed. Brant came out to the house, looked at the job, said he'd get back to me with an estimate and a scheduled day to do the job. Never heard back from him. I emailed the company to ask what the status was and never got a response to that either. I'm disappointed since this was my first time using an Angie's List company and I dont think I got my money's worth for the membership.

I'm sure there are plenty of good ones out there, but I neither had the time nor the patience to find them. Then I saw an ad for CASE Handyman & Remodeling Services of Wallingford, Ct. After interviewing the owner, I was convinced that this was the person/company that I could trust to vet and hire only those contractors and workmen that would deliver the high-level of workmanship and professionalism that I was looking for. CASE has a very talented staff of multi-faceted workmen, but even they can't do everything. When my needs required a professional driveway installer CASE made sure they hired the best in the area. I needed a company like CASE that would stand between me and those contractors to make sure they arrived when promised, delivered what they promised and guaranteed the work that they performed. CASE did build a beautiful pergola for me, renovated a stairway, repaired my chimney, installed a new patio door and laid a beautiful front walkway. All of these renovations were done on time, within our agreed upon budget and with a real sense of excellence. I would highly recommend them for any handyman or remodeling job you might have.

Description of Work: Relocating bookshelves, full of books, to an agreed upon place, setting up a standing lamp that had arrived in a box, carrying packed boxes upstairs to the attic, setting up a VCR/DVD connecting it to my TV and cable box, offering to lay out a rug but it was not ready.
