Description of Work: Asked them to check on some work done by another plumber, including a minor fix for new kitchen faucets had been previously installed; had them look at outdoor faucets - one was fine, the other needed some adjustment. Also had him ordered parts and fix broken in-sink plug mechanism in bathroom. |In fixing and checking the fixtures he noted that the water pressure seemed high. So we discovered that we had 110 ppsi instead of the recommended 80 ppsi. (which may explains why have had a series of leaks since we bought the house.) It turns out the house did not have a pressure reducing valve. So Drew ordered and installed one. Now when I use the sprayer in the kitchen sink it no longer splatters all over the sink and nearby counter because we have normal water pressure. And no new leaks!

Description of Work: We just purchased an older house in Macon and have several things we needed to have repaired. We initially called to have a few leaks repaired and a couple of gas lines checked, but were not surprised to learn that we would be better off having the entire incoming plumbing replaced than to try to fix it all one thing at a time. They replaced our leaky copper pipes (1938 house) with new pex pipe and even installed new faucets for us in the Kitchen and bathrooms. We had to have them back out to adjust the regulator on the shower faucet, which they did immediately and at no charge. Over Thanksgiving weekend, we discovered that the outdoor shut-off valve Buzzell had promised to install was not there, so we called them to fix that, and also to cap off some leaking outdoor irrigation pipes (which were not part of the original job). Both jobs were done promptly and well. Later the same week, they came back and serviced our broken furnace. We had several parts of the furnace replaced (a leak had damaged and rusted several parts of it) and also signed up for a service contract, which allowed us to roll the labor costs together and to get a 10% discount.

Description of Work: Moved to this area 3 years ago, after living in the same house 400 miles away for 30 years. I have called people from the paper for minor repairs, and have later realized the mistakes I had made and how I was ripped off. My A/C unit was old and 1 of the least energy efficient units built. I knew I needed to shop and replace before this winter. I called for estimates from TV ads then joined Angies List and looked more. I had personal recommendations from co-workers to call Buzzell. I called at 2pm and Mark Buzzell was here before 4pm. He took the time to explain every pro and con of different units. My house also had a duct problem which made only half of the house cooling or heating correctly. I told Mark I had 1 more person coming in the am for an estimate, he said just let him know. He also explained rebate programs on certain units and tax credits no-one else even bothered to tell me. I hired Buzzell. The work was to be a 2 day job starting yesterday. Last night was to be 32 and I figured it would be a space heater night. When I called from work Mark had been here himself 3 times, sent an extra crew and planned on finishing before the cold came. I was thankful. The crew took great care of my house and property. I have 3 dogs that can be a pain to strangers they worked around the hardship remarkably. After installation Mark Buzzell took the time to show me the new thermostat, all the cycles and made sure I understood it and could use it myself before he left. I was impressed. Mark asked for no payment wanted me to see how it was last night and returned this am to check everything with me. I feel I was more informed by Buzzell than any of the other 4 companies I called. I feel for product , service and price I got the best. Buzzell is now on the top of my list to call. Thank you Buzzell!!!

Description of Work: Buzzell Plumbing was represented by Plumber Richie. He was very friendly and informative. As I watched he gave me tips and explained what he was doing. We had a leak at our water meter on our side of the line. The plastic box surrounding the water meter had settled lower in the ground and was pressing against the plastic water pipe on my line. The pressure of the water meter box had cracked our water line. Richie thought someone had probably driven a car over the meter box lid and caused it to sink and press against our plastic water pipe. Richie cut about three more inches above the gap in the meter box to take the pressure off the plastic pipe. He then proceded to replace a 15 inch section of the pipe while explaining what he was doing. It was very interesting to watch and I saw a new way to reconnect a section of pipe. Richie cleaned up the area and finished his job quickly. A plus to the story is that there was a $20 coupon off services on Angie's lists. The job was actually $155.00. I could not have done the job myself because he had special tools and fittings that I have never seen before.

Description of Work: On Memorial Day weekend my husband and I started to notice that it was slowly getting very warm in our house eventhough we had our A/C set on 73. It was over 100 degrees outside but it still seemed like something was wrong. So on Tuesday when we woke up it was 88 degrees in our house at 7:00 am...an obivious issue. We checked Angie's list for local A/C companies, called a few that were listed and Buzzell was the only one that could come out and take a look the next day. They gave us an estimated time of between 2 and 5. The gentelman showed up at our house at exactly 2:00 pm. He was very nice and expalined exactly what he was going to do before he did anything. After he checked a few things he came out of the attic and told us the problem....cracked coil on the inside unit. He went over what would have to be done to fix it long term and he said that he could do a quick fix on the problem that would last a week or so until we knew what we wanted to do. He charged us for the freeon (sp) but did not charge us a "trip" fee since we had (as he put it) "a bigger issue". The first trip cost us $160.00. He told us that he would have "the office" work up an estimate and someone would call us the next day. However, no one called so on Thrusday we called them and they gave us an estimate of $1200.00. Having never had this kind of work done before we called around to 4 other places in town and the estimates ranged from $1500 - $3500. We called Buzzell back to schedule a date for the replacement. They set it up for the following Wednesday. The gentelman showed up at 8:30 am and began replacing the part. Once it was in place he discovered that the part was "bad" and he needed to go back to the shop to see if they had another in stock. Luckily they had ordered two so he was back within an hour working on it again. We were affraid that they may charge us labor for the time he spent putting in and removing the "bad" part they had ordered. But when he was finished he gave us a bill for the estimated amount....$1200!!! All in all it took about 5 hours before we were back up and running.
