+ 1 moreThey did do a fabulous job. I do have one complaint as they did unplug a freezer in a basement and all of the items in that were ruined. I called them and they never compensated for that. The work was excellent not including the freezer issue. It started stinking and I do not use that on a regular basis and then we realized what had happened.
Description of Work: They did air duct cleaning and they installed a whole house dehumidifier. They cleaned the dryer vent as well.

+ -1 moreThe two service technicians were professional and courteous, kept the house clean by wearing shoe covers, and were conscientious of my infant son. They arranged their work within different parts of the house around my son's nap schedule so he wouldn't be disturbed. The entire job took about five hours, which tells me it was thorough. And since having our ductwork cleaned, our air systems heat and cool much more efficiently. We felt the difference immediately. They also repaired a loose joint within the ductwork freeing up air flow to one of our rooms. The cost was in line with the estimate we were given, and we think it's money well spent for this service.
Description of Work: DUCTZ of Greater Atlanta cleaned air ducts for two HVAC systems. They removed each vent, thoroughly cleaned it, then used a negative air process to remove dust and debris from within the ductwork. They also cleaned each air handler unit and checked for leaks or holes in the ducts.

+ -1 moreI am very h****** people who perform services because I want the best for my money. The results are that I could REALLY tell the difference in my air quality the same night after they completed the job.. The money for this was definitely worth it. After the cleaning, this was the first night in several years that I slept without choking from the air coming from the vents when the heat unit was on. In addition, it is now so quiet that we actually wondered whether the unit was working (which is was). I am not sure how much dust, dirt, etc. that was extracted from the ducts, but apparently it was so caked that when the blower was on it sounded like a loud train. I am very glad that we did this and used Ductz.
Description of Work: We recently replaced the air and heating unit last year but never thought that the ducts were an issue until our family experienced several illness due to allergies and sinus infections. After realizing that the issue was in the ducts, we researched several companies on Angie's list and determined to use Ductz. They were very responsive and understanding when trying to work out a scheduled to come out. Finally, we chose a day where we thought the weather would be good (1/15). It was actually awful, but it did not stop them from performing a fabulous job. They addressed everything very professionally. We are not smokers, but the prior owners apparently smoked so much that actual tar-like substance was caked within the ductwork. It poured and the men were especially careful to cover everything and not track dirt in the house. My husband was impressed when they took the time to wait when the rain was especially bad. He especially appreciated all of the additional information (we had one duct that was somehow damaged prior to Ductz that my husband plans to address).

The job went quickly and the crew was neat, cleaned up very well, and left without a trace The only problem we had was a very slight rattling sound from one of the vents when the air on on. Not a major problem, and we are now used to it Coincidentally, our air conditioning stopped working the day after the duct cleaning service. I called the president of Ductz, and he said he would make us whole, if the problem was caused by them. My AC contractor determined that the problem was not related to the duct cleaning

+ 0 moreMy responses to your "Overall Experience" questions are biased. Please read below for an explanation. I thought the service was done properly, but I have since learned that when the dryer duct was replaced by this company in 2010, that the entire duct was not replaced. Instead only the duct from the dryer to the attic was replaced. It turns out that the portion from the attic to the roof, was not replaced and as a result it rusted out and became unattached. I had lint all over the attic, which could have caused a fire if it had hit the pilot light on my furnace. I recently spent $125 to get the duct from the attic to the roof replaced by my Heating and AC company. They said that when the duct from the dryer to the attic was replaced, that Dutz should have replaced the portion from the attic to the roof. I have no way of knowing if what they said is correct and/or usual business practice, however, the fact that the original dryer duct collapsed and needed replacement, should have been a sign that the entire duct was not in good shape. I will not use Dutz again.

+ -1 moreAt a time when customer service is a rare find in any industry, Hal, Don and their on-site crew at DUCTZ are a case study for how to: ? Be Responsive to Customer needs ? Be Consultive in discussing the situation ? Be Professional and Caring ? Provide Quality Service ? Be Thorough I also appreciate the fact that they brought an equally customer service-minded company, PuroClean, to assist in providing me with a complete solution. This project required more than DUCTZ's core offerings provided, but their concern was ensuring my problem was thoroughly addressed and fixed. The lesson here for any other company that wants to be successful... "Listen to your customer's needs and help them in any way you can to fulfill their needs. Completely!" To say I would recommend DUCTZ and PuroClean is an understatement. The reality is, we do business with people, not companies. And these are great people.
Description of Work: We had a unique situation that required special and immediate attention. Upon moving into our house, we discovered the previous owner was a cat hoarder. The HVAC systems (2) needed to be thoroughly cleaned, but the basement and crawlspace was so inundated with cat dander, it too needed a thorough cleaning and abatement. Because of my severe cat allergies, this situation posed a health risk. I contacted Dave Baker (WSB Radio Host of The Home Fixit Show) and asked him for a recommendation. He put me in touch with Hal at Ductz. I called on a Saturday, assuming I would need to leave a voice-mail. Hal personally answered the call and was most generous with his time, ensuring he had a complete understanding of the situation. On Monday, Don King (Ductz GM) came to my house with Matt of PuroClean of North Metro Atlanta. Together, they assessed the situation and provided me with a turnkey set of detailed recommendations and quotes. I contracted with them both. PuroClean came in first and did completed cleaning of all surfaces, in the unfinished basement and crawlspace. The also used HEPA Vacuums, Air Scrubbers, a Hydroxyl Generator and a thermal fog to deodorize the space. In cleaning the crawlspace, they removed about 30lbs of cat feces. Then, DUCTZ came in with their crew and completely cleaned both HVAC systems including all ducts, plenums, registers as well as the dryer and bathroom vents and ducts. They also sprayed the system with an antimicrobial product to eliminate any contaminants in the system. Once the job was completed, it was like a different home.

+ -1 moreCalled the office in advance for a price estimate and appointment for an impacted dryer vent. The technician came right on time and spent two hours working and confirming that the job was completely finished by checking from both inside and outside. When he left the dryer was reconnected and the room was probably cleaner than when he got there but he was covered from head to toe with lint. He was still smiling though.
Description of Work: Cleaned/cleared a severely impacted dryer vent that stretched from 2nd floor laundry room, under laundry room, hallway and another room to the outside wall.

They got rid of a lot of dirt in the vents and cleaned them very well. They unclogged the dryer vent which was an urgent matter. They did an excellent job. They were professional and handled working in our home with us there very well.

Before they came out we couldn't turn on our heat because the warm air would raise causing me to breath in dust. Don came out to give me an estimate and he was very knowledgeable on heating and cooling issues and very friendly. He took time explaining things to us. The day after my phone call Larry our serviceman came out to clean our ducts. After throughly cleaning the ducts they sprayed a substance into the ducts to kill the dust, dust mites, etc. They were very professional and friendly. I am very greatful to angies list for recommending this company to me.

+ 0 moreI will be using them to clean the dryer vent annually. They were wonderful and very professional. They arrived on time and they cleaned up everything. In my eyes they went above and beyond since they discovered the duct was disintegrating and they replaced it.
Description of Work: They cleaned all of the air ducts and replaced the duct work to the dryer since I had a dryer fire due to the clogged duct work. They told me to have the dryer vent cleaned annually because of the way the ducts go up to the roof through the attic. The day I had the fire they had someone come out and they gave me an estimate and because it had been 5 1/2 years since I had the ducts cleaned they recommended having the whole house done plus the dryer.
