We are very pleased with the work that A-1 Driveway Replacement Co. did to make our contemporary patio dream come true. They were punctual, professional, reliable, and the patio looks fabulous. Jeff Wirth arrived on time to give us a quote on the job. He took the time to listen to what we wanted, to look at the pictures of what we had in mind, and to actually remember the style/design that we were going for (other contractors did not do that). He gave us a quote on a Saturday afternoon and started the job just four days later (and it would have been sooner if it hadn’t rained). His crew finished the job in one day. They were professional and did a great job. Also, his crew came back just two days later to remove the plywood and saw in the control joints. They were very patient with us as we were deciding on how we wanted the control joints cut. Also, the price was reasonable. After the concrete dried, we noticed a small hole in the concrete. Jeff sent two members of his crew just one day after we called about the hole. It was an embedded leaf – they patched it up quickly, and now it is perfect. We love the patio – it is exactly what we wanted! It is not easy to find a contractor/company that excels on all levels of professionalism like A-1 Driveway Replacement Co. does. We are very pleased and highly recommend them.

They did an excellent job! They put a thick 4 inch concrete base in and after they did this they stained the other side the same color as the cement they just put in. This was an extra thing that we did not expect because they were only to repair half of our driveway and they then went ahead and stained it for us so that it would match. Their prices were cheaper than anyone else we had contacted. The quality was probably better than the other companies because they put in a thicker base and they even stained it for us, as other companies were not going to do the same.

Called and left a message that I needed to demo and replace a driveway. Never got a call back. Called this provider based on Angie's List recommendation. I at least expected a phone call. Very unprofessional.

The pool removal and the driveway came out very well. I needed to watch over the workers to make sure that they did everything that they were supposed to. The pool removal was a relatively difficult job. Their quality was great and their price was decent. You have to just keep an eye on them.

Arrived on time with a large crew and completed the job on time and cleaned up the site well. Driveway has held up well over the past year.

Overall things went well. They came out as scheduled on a Saturday morning to provide a quote. Once we accepted, the job was scheduled shortly afterwards. They did the job in one day. We were satisfied with the quality of the work and the appearance of the new driveway and parking pad.

Within a week we had cracks in our driveway. I don?t know if they didn?t tell us how to handle our driveway properly or if they didn?t do something right, but they didn?t do a good job. They didn?t have good follow up at all. I tried calling, we sent letters and pictures and they were not interested in fixing this or helping us in any way. We now have a cracked driveway.

I requested an estimate which was given in a timely professional manner. I had to delay start of my driveway project due to family wedding. I was contacted again by this company, asking about going forward, and did I want a new, probably lower estimate. I got the impression they were looking for work so that seemed fine by me. A different estimator came and said that first one did not figure something correctly, and my new estimate was $2,000 higher!!! I went with a different company that had a lower estimate to begin with. Bizarre.

They were very prompt in the service call and very professional. I would definitely call them again for an estimate when we know we are ready to pour the driveway.

I have contacted a few people who have had driveways done by them and I have seen a driveway that they have done and it looks great. I delayed the process until I get done having some work done in my back yard. The price was considerably less than a couple of other estimates I had had. They were very prompt and they have followed up since the estimate, too. I told them about the problem in my backyard and he said he would wait until I contacted them, which I like that they will just wait instead of continuing to bug me.

We actually had some problems. The guy got into an argument with my wife. They told us that they would be there on a particular day and they showed up at about 6 o'clock in the morning. It was very early and I had actually left for work. My wife's car was in the garage. They never knocked on the door to prepare so that she could get the car out, so her car was in the garage for three days. They were supposed to grab rebar from where the driveway meets the garage slab. They didn't do that so my wife stopped them from making the pouring till they actually drilled in and caught in the driveway to the garage floor to keep it from moving in. It ended up making the concrete sit there too long and that ended up being a mess. When all was done they ended up about a year later giving us some money back on it because the concrete was spoiling. It sat up too long and was called hot concrete I think. It ended up being a negative experience but I know that other people in the area had it done and they were really happy with it.

The driveway looks great as there are no cracks or lines whatsoever. They cleaned up very well and they didn't try to hassle me about the price. It was a very big job and they got it done very fast. I would say the whole thing was complete in about 4 days.

They knew what they were doing and were very professional. They were a little late getting started, but once the job was finished it looked wonderful. I would recommend them to the list.

Communication and following up a few days after I received the estimate was the key to my selecting A-1. Mike from A-1 was patient in answering my questions and educating me as to the particulars of concrete. Even though others may have been less expensive I found the price to be fair. The crew arrived at the specified time and Mike was on site to go over the project so everyone new the expectations. The following day when one of my neighbors called them because of some concrete in a drain area, A 1 sent a crew over to get it cleaned up. I am very happy with the end result and follow up. I would highly recommend A 1.

Punctual and professional in giving estimate. Price seemed reasonable. However what was discussed during the planning meeting and what really happened was somehow different. Roots of 100 year old tree were sawed/chopped off and not shaved/tapered off. We are concerned about possibly loosing the tree. Stamping of concrete, at the end of the day, when workers were completely tired, did not come out as proposed and expected. The pattern of the stamped concrete was supposed to look like cobble stones. In reality it looks more like little concrete pillows.

The supervisor kept us informed and answered all of our questions. We had concern that the newly poured concrete would get stepped on as our drive is a school bus stop so they blocked it with saw horses and yellow caution tape. They charged us less than the estimate was.

They did an excellent job, and I was impressed with the abilities of the work crew that did it. From what I can tell, it looks like a very well done job.

Work was begun on time and completed in a professional manner. Homeowner had to point out, however, that before concrete was poured, only half the specified reinforcing steel was placed; workmen then placed the missing reinforcing steel. It was fortunate that this missing steel was still on the truck.

David Scott (owner) came to give an estimate immediately. His price was VERY competitive. The job was scheduled at a convenient time. The workers arrived on the scheduled day at 8:00 am and the entire job was completed by 4:15 pm. Dave supervised the job himself. Workers worked together efficiently and worked HARD all day. The job looks great! Cost was exactly what the estimate said.
