Bill was great. Due to numerous rain storms, we had to reschedule several times. Bill was quick to contact us initially and followed-up to check-in due to weather changes. When he was finally able to come out and complete the work, he was fast, neat and organized. He was able to show us before and after pictures of the work completed. We would definitely use Bill again in the future.

Bill did a great job, He spent almost the entire day here for a very reasonable fixed price. I would certainly use him again, and recommend him to anyone in need of concrete services.

Bill replaced and repaired various places where the brick was cracked or loose. The mortar was matched. The places he repaired matched almost perfectly. You have to look very close to see what was repaired. He came back on the 4th of July to inspect and clean up.

Our front concrete steps topped with granite stone were in a deplorable state. Every summer I had to repaint the risers under the slab steps due to staining effect from precipitation. The cement grout between the slabs were almost non existent. Several of the slabs steps were no longer adhering to the concrete base. I saw Bill was having a special masonry deal for three hours of work for $99. Well he spent nearly six hours at my house working in 90 degree temperature and the final product was amazing. Not only did he reset and repoint the stone steps but he also added a water-resistant sealer and re-faced the risers with a water-proof cement adhesive. The stains on the steps are nearly impossible to remove, so Bill and I discussed the option of painting these in the future with a concrete paint to further protect them. He worked twice as long as was advertised and naturally the cost was more but very, very reasonable. In fact the additional cost probably just covered the materials. Bill was warm and friendly and very professional. We will definitely use him in the future and I highly recommend him to anyone.

The work turned out very well. He is very good and very much of a perfectionist. I contacted him late last year. He was honest and explained that he was booked up until the spring of this year. He was able to provide me with an estimate and we scheduled for the work. He has always got back to me when I had a question. I would highly recommend him and would use him again.

This customer contacted me to look at their chimney because they were have water entering inside. I made some suggestions to them after I viewed the chimney. They said they would contact the roofing company who initially did the flashing work, etc to see if they would come back to fix the work correctly. I never heard back from this customer, nor did I price any work for them so I'm not sure why they say I am hard to get a hold of afterwords. I looked at this 11/17/12 according to my notes and note the review was posted 5/16/2013.

The home inspection on my new home revealed the missing chimney cap, deteriorated crown and the cracked and damaged flue liner. Shortly after closing on the property 3/27/13 I contacted Bill for an estimate. He responded promptly and visited the vacant property shortly thereafter. He emailed me photos and his repair estimate which was slightly higher that another estimate. I decided to use Bill as the product he used for the crown came with a 10 year warranty and he fully described the entire process exhibiting his thorough knowledge and experience in handling these repairs. We scheduled the repair for the following week but when Bill had an opening earlier he completed the repair one week early which was greatly appreciated. On the day he arrived no one was home and he found that the outside electric outlet was not energized. Needing power to cut the flue liner he tried to contact one of the neighbors to secure electric but no one was available there either. Rather than reschedule Bill measured the liner and drove back to his home/shop (probably 10 miles) and cut the liner to size and returned to install. Upon completion of the job Bill photographed the chimney and electronically sent the pictures for my inspection. My only regret in this entire process is that I never did get to meet Bill in person. He runs a great business and went out of his way to accomodate me, his customer.

Horrible experience and would strongly advise anyone against using his services. I had to file a civil complaint with the District Magistrate (MDJ-31-3-02) as well as with the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas (complaint no. 2012-C-2780) to remedy a problem with the construction of the steps. On 11/5/2010, Mr. Baker was hired to replace a set of wooden steps leading to the side door of our house by constructing brick steps capped with flagstone. The brick steps were completed approximately 12/3/2010. When constructing the brick steps, Mr. Baker improperly installed the flagstone on the stoop such that water was directed toward the house, pooled at the bricksill and seeped through the door! Mr. Baker was notified of the improper installation on 3/8/2011. I did not detect the problem immediately upon the completion of the steps because it was masked somewhat by the cold weather during the winter season. Once the ice melted on the steps and we began to experience more rain, the problem became apparent. After numerous appointments and cancellations by Mr. Baker, he arrived to reset the stone on 4/7/2011. During the process of removing the flagstone in order to reset it and slope it away from the house, Mr. Baker broke the stone in numerous places, rendering it unusable. Since I was working from home that day, he asked that I come out and see what happened. At that point I reiterated what I already told him through email, that I would not pay anything additional to fix the problem. After I resumed my work for a short period of time, though, I reconsidered and handed Mr. Baker $100 in cash to offset the purchase of a new 3? x 3? piece of flagstone. This amount was paid above and beyond the terms of the original agreement. Mr. Baker took the money in hand and placed it in his pocket. When I handed the money to him, he stated ?That?s all I ask.? He also asked for the phone numbers of the local landscape supply businesses so that he could obtain a new piece of flagstone. I wrote down the numbers of three businesses and provided them to Mr. Baker. When Mr. Baker left, he was supposed to return that day with a new piece of flagstone and install it on the stoop. He never returned to install the new flagstone. In an email on 4/12/2011, Mr. Baker states he ?pretty much knew that the stone would break......so it wasn?t an accident that it broke.? Between 4/7/2011 and 4/14/2011, Mr. Baker made and cancelled multiple appointments to replace the stone. On 4/20/2011 I notified Mr. Baker that I had contacted another company to install the stone during the week of 4/25/2011. I provided one last opportunity for him to correct the work himself first. Mr. Baker responded on 4/24/2011 and also on 4/25/2011 only to state that he had contacted his lawyer. The stone was reset by another company on 4/27/2011. In response to an attorney?s letter on my behalf on May 13, 2011 requesting reimbursement for the $100 plus the cost of resetting the flagstone, Mr. Baker?s attorney responded by offering only to return the $100 if I agree to release him from any and all future liability associated with the construction of the steps. I found the response unacceptable and sought assistance from the Pennsylvania Attorney General?s office (8/22/2011). The Attorney General?s office reached an impasse with Bill?s Masonry Services and concluded their attempts at mediation on 9/16/2011. I then filed a civil complaint with the magisterial court on 2/6/2012. After hearing testimony from both Mr. Baker and myself, Magistrate Michael J. Faulkner issued a judgment in my favor on May 30, 2012. Mr. Baker, however, decided to appeal the Magistrate?s judgment, further prolonging the issue and requiring me to file a complaint in the Court Of Common Pleas of Lehigh County, Civil Division (no. 2012-C-2780). After months of praecipes, motions and petitions which took up an enormous amount of my time, a preliminary hearing before Lehigh County Judge J. Brian Johnson was held on 3/22/2013 where I represented myself and Mr. Baker?s attorney represented him. On 3/26/2013 Mr. Baker?s attorney sent a letter offering a settlement to conclude the lawsuit, which I accepted on 4/2/2013. Rather than simply warrant his work and quickly and painlessly correct the problem, Mr. Baker chose instead to make the resolution as difficult and time-consuming as possible. However, after more than two years of considerable and unnecessary aggravation, the matter has finally been concluded through our judicial system. Again, I would strongly advise anyone against using Bill?s Masonry Services. He simply did not stand behind his work and made it as difficult, costly and time consuming on me as possible to receive reimbursement for correcting the problem with his workmanship.
Description of Work: Mr. Baker was contracted to construct a simple set of brick steps capped with flagstone leading to the side door of our house.

I called Bill on Friday and he came out the same day to look at the chimney. He called me to let me know what he found, gave me the quote and said he would be out the following Tuesday. He sent a picture of the chimney so I could see what it needed and told me he was able to do the repair on Monday instead. I was pleasantly surprised with the skim coat he did at no additional charge. He sent me an after picture so I could see exactly what he did. I will not hesitate to use him again in the future.
Description of Work: He cut out the top part of the damaged terra cotta chimney liner, cemented in a new piece and installed a stainless steel chimney cap. He also did a "freebie" cement coat around the top of the chimney.

Despite the many calls he was responding to in the wake of the storm, Bill did the work on the same day that we called him. He had to retrofit the chimney pipe because the people who had installed it in 2000 (Air Care and Restoration) had left the chimney very uneven--higher on one side than the other. I have left the "quality" rating above blank (N/A) because I'm not competent to judge how well he did tie job, but he was certainly thorough: bent the protruding chimney pipe back (which took him about twenty minutes in cold weather), applied extra caulk, hunted down the right kind of screws to fasten the cap. He said the $60 I gave him was more than he planned to charge us.

Very well. He arrived at stated time, performed agreed work, and charged what we agreed.
Description of Work: Bill fixed several stucco problems around my house. Prior owner did not install expansion joints, which eventually caused cracks. Subsequent renovation, including new windows and doors, required patching and caulking. Bill spent two full days repairing cracks, patching around new windows and doors, cutting new joints around some windows, and caulking everything. He even helped with a few other masonery-related tasks that were beyond the scope of quoted work. Total cost was exactly what he claimed even though he did extra work.

Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely use Bill's Masonry service in the future
Description of Work: Bill was very responsive to our phone inquiries and came out within a reasonable time to perform an estimate (which he waived the fee for). We felt the estimate for repairing the worn crown was reasonable ($200) and that service included a weatherized coating over the concrete that we were not even aware existed. Bill even installed a rain cap we purchased for no extra charge! The one caution I would give is to expect some time delay in getting the work done. This is not due to procrastination by the company but I think is a reflection of how in demand and busy the company is. Bill was very accommodating on trying to fit in the job as soon as he could it did take about a month from estimate to finishing the job. Again, I think that is just an indication of the demand for his services. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely use Bill's Masonry service in the future.

He kept putting the work off and it got too cold to do the work. I was disappointed that he never came through and tried to help to get the work done. If he would have told us that he could have not done it we would have been happier with that. He did give referral but the company works on historic buildings and they were way over priced.

Bill was very professional and responsive to his customer's needs. It is kind of difficult to schedule because he is so busy. I think it mostly attributes to the quality work he does. Everyone requests his services. Once he started working on my Chimney, he completed the job in under 2 weeks! He also came in under his intial estimate! That was a pleasant surprise. I would definitely use him again, and would recommend anyone who needs masonry work done to use him as well. Great job Bill!

he never showed up to do the job; keep delaying and postponing our work.
Description of Work: We contacted Bill after finding him on Angie's list; we think he diagnosed our chimney problems correctly. But he put us off month after month with excuses about the weather, illness, too much work, etc. Finally called last month and said he "had too much work" to do our job and maybe we should call his brother-in-law. First off these homeowners never did pay their $35.00 estimate fee. Second, I did keep in touch with them regarding trying to schedule them in. I asked them not to keep calling me (I believe they called me 3 or 4 times leaving me messages) and that I would contact them. Third, I did refer another contractor to them hoping to help them out with their issue of water coming in through chimney.

We called Bill's Masonry to come for an estimate. Bill was quick in his response, climbed up to the rooftop to inspect the chimney, took pictures so we could see what he was seeing and the work that needed to be done. This was wonderful because we knew he was being truthful as we certainly were not going to climb up there, as the chimney rises above our 3 story home, to see what he was referencing. He emailed us the pictures and mailed an estimate within a few days. He came back out to the house to bring mortar samples and picked up the contract. We picked the color we wanted and showed him the few areas on our brick garage that we were also concerned about. Bill was able to assure us he too could fix the areas and agreed to do so without charging more than the amount we already agreed to. He was honest that it would be a few weeks before he got to our job because of other scheduled estimates and jobs. To our surprise he called sooner than we expected to get started! He came and set up his scaffolding as he planned and the next day began the work. He worked quietly and efficiently. Bill found an area of our roof near the chimney that was sealed improperly and that was in need of repair. He fixed it on his own accord, which was greatly appreciated. Bill finished the job in the time line he projected. He took the time to answer questions we had. He cleaned up thoroughly and removed everything. Bill even went the extra mile to leave his tall ladder for my husband to use to finish some unreachable painting with the ladder we own. He offered to pick it up when we were finished with it. He took pictures of his completed work and emailed them to us so we could see the finished product up close and not just from the ground. The chimney looks wonderful! We are thoroughly pleased with Bill's Masonry and would recommend him to anyone who needs similar work and would hire him again, without hesitation for additional masonry work.
Description of Work: We had the chimney on our 1920's home repaired. Bill fixed and recapped the top of the chimney, cleaned out the joints of old mortar on the entire chimney and reapplied mortar to the entire chimney. He also did the same brick work on a portion of our brick garage. While up on the roof he noticed an area that needed to be resealed and fixed that as well.

Let start by saying I HATE looking for contractors to do work around my house. They always seem to be unreliable, non responsive, and just a pain in general. Bill is not any of those things he shows up when he says and and works till the job is done. If he is late or has to reschedule for any reason he calls and keeps you informed. You will not go wrong with choosing Bill's Masonry for any work you need completed. I would definitely use him again. Thanks again Bill !!

Bill promptly returned my initial phone call and arranged a time to come out and provide an estimate. The estimate appeared to be reasonable for the work involved. Unfortunately the weather delayed his ability to quickly begin the job. When he was able to start the work he completed the job in 2 days. So far the work appears to have taken care of our leaky chimney. We recommend Bill to others in need of masonry work.
Description of Work: Our chimney was leaking from the exterior into the interior of our house. Bricks needed to be ground down and 2 sections of stone slabs installed. In addition, flashing along the roof needed to be secured and caulk applied where the brick and siding meet.

Bill returned my phone call promptly. He came out for an estimate a few days later. He mailed the contract shortly after that. He called me a few days in advance of his work. He explained what he would do, how he would do it, and why it was the best way to do it. I would highly recommend him to my friends and family!!!!!
