They were great. He was A's overall and basically told me that he recommended not to spend $500 on pressure cleaning our house before we go through with our construction because I would waste our money. So, I really appreciated that and I'm definitely going to use him after the construction is built. I'm going to call them back again so they can come out and actually perform the service so A's all around for them. I will use them again. He's going to be the first person I call.

Just inquired about gutter cleaning. I reviewed other Angie's List' members in the area and they charge 80% less. When I told him that, he said his work has a cost. Then told me to climb to the roof and do the cleaning myself. Nonprofessional.

Homeowner wanted contractor to clean a 1400 square ft house with a wrap around gutter system for $20. Contractor estimated project at $100 and homeowner was unreasonable with his price request. Contractor tried to explained the unreasonableness of his request and customer became obnoxious with his demand, therefore I responded by saying that no company in their right mind will do it for that price. He's gonna have to clim the ladder, risk the high liability and do it himself.

Eli was busy for a few weeks. It was not a big deal to wait a bit for the few finishing touches since none of the items was critical and I knew Eli would make good on his word. When he stopped by to go over the few items to be done, he offered to add wood trim (and paint) around the newly installed garage door. The installer did not do a nice job and the trim he installed looked horrible as it was very thin and narrow. Eli installed additional wood trim and painted it for me free of charge and very kindly also filled in a crack in the stucco that another installer created after Eli's painting. He was not responsible for either of those items. Eli did not need to do the extra work free of charge, but he did. Eli is one of those people who wants things done right. I appreciated his attention to detail during the original painting job. Although I offered, he declined to charge me for the wood trim, painting and stucco repair that he provided.
Description of Work: I wrote a previous review about this company and want to provide an update. There were a few minor tasks that were to be completed from the original job.

Great!! Eli is professional, responsive and does high quality work for a reasonable price. I used him twice to pressure wash and paint. Eli Kessep's company is an anomaly in Miami. He returned all my calls promptly, showed up when he said he would and helped me with the paint color and stucco decisions for my house. He kept me informed every step of the way. Eli was honest and upfront about the costs of the project and he recommended the updating of the front porch columns with stucco work which I agreed to do as he provided a very reasonable cost for the added work. Eli does not cut corners. He applies the required number of primer and paint coats and goes out of his way to do a beautiful and careful job. They cleaned up carefully after each phase of the project. In addition to the painting, a rear house wall was damaged badly after an electrical upgrade and the front porch had an old look with fake brick columns. Eli suggested that the porch would look better updated with a smoother look with stucco. The stucco expert he hired was phenomenal and did incredible work on both the back wall and the front porch. Eli uses brushes for the trim and rollers for the walls. Other companies insist on spraying exterior walls for time and cost savings. He also repaired rotted wood framing around an exterior door, rehung all the security lights, and replaced all the deteriorating vents in the soffit. I purchased the soffit vents, however all the rest of the materials were included in the job cost. Eli went out of his way to ensure that the job was completed in a timely manner, done to my satisfaction and he treated my home as if it were his own. I will be using Eli's company for all my future painting projects and I highly recommend him.

Elias and his crew were able to meet a short deadline painting the interior of my house before we moved in. The walls, ceilings, and trim turned out great and everything was cleaned up and spot checked upon completion. The painters were very meticulous and did an outstanding job making sure everything was done right filling holes and caulking where needed and going over everything to ensure quality work. Highly recommend and would definitely use again.

As in every previous project, Eli and his team did a wonderful job-previously painted the exterior of the house and did an outstanding job and several years ago he did a complete remodel and paint job for another property we own. The house belongs to my mother, had not been painted in 20 years and in addition to requiring a new coat of paint throughout the interior, including trim and doors, removing and replacing the dated popcorn ceiling was a daunting task as well. Eli's quote for that and the painting was by far the best we received and based on previous experience with him we knew we would be in good hands. Eli put 2 people on the job because we were under a time constraint and not only did they do excellent work, it was FAST! From start to finish the job was completed in 2 weeks which was amazing considering it included 2000+ square feet of painting, trim, and of course those ceilings throughout the entire house. As he has in the past, Eli went beyond what he was contracted to do and had his guys put in a textured ceiling (more complicated than just scraping and smoothing) for the same price quoted originally. Having worked with Gables Pressure Cleaning now for not only this job but other complicated and extensive renovation projects, as always he and his workers did a great job that was on time, on budget and high quality. Eli works largely through referrals and when you give someone his name, you will never hear anything but 'thank you'!
Description of Work: This is the third project I've worked on with with Eli - he my mother's house needed a complete interior paint job including removal of popcorn ceilings and refinishing/repainting them.

Probably the worst experience of my life with any service provider. The last thing that Elias Kessep (owner of Gables Pressure Cleaning & Painting) said to me as we ended this project was most telling about his work and ethics: “I’m not used to having my customers around when I work.” I am retired so I was around for much of the job and saw what was done, and was not done. Superficially Elias’s paint job looks good, but since the job was not done in accordance with the agreed to proposal, I doubt the job will last very long. He provides a 10 year warranty, but I have no intention of using him. I am hiring another painter to finish the things that were not completed or need to be redone. I was supposed to get three coats of paint and a quality job with the owner of the company on site. I got none of that. On the website for Gables Pressure Cleaning & Painting, Elias states “There is never a sub contractor involved when any of the services is (sic) performed.” When I interviewed Elias I asked whether he is on the job site or uses a crew. He told me that he works the job with one employee that has been with him for 20 years. When I asked him how he would paint the stucco walls he said that he does not spray stucco walls, he uses a roller, which is the application I preferred. After I gave him the job, Elias showed up at my home one evening with a person that he introduced as “the best painter in Miami.” I assumed this was his one employee. They discussed the job between themselves. The next morning Elias showed up with his pressure cleaning rig and a different “employee”. After Elias pressure cleaned the house he told me that the existing paint was in such good shape that primer would not be necessary other than a few areas where the paint had chipped off during the cleaning. He would apply primer to those areas. He never offered to reduce the price of the job to reflect his savings of paint and labor. In fact, he did not buy primer, he used one gallon of Kilz that I had in my garage. The following morning Elias showed up with “the best painter in Miami” and two other people in their own truck. He told me that they were going to prep and cover all the doors, windows, pool patio deck, and other areas to be readied for painting. He then told me that he had to leave for a short time to finish some work on a job site, but that he would be back in the afternoon. He never showed up that day. The people he left behind were a well-practiced team that efficiently covered all the areas that needed to be covered. The next morning Elias is back with “the best painter in Miami” and the other two people in their own truck (hereinafter referred to as the “sub”). He tells me that they are going to finish caulking the woodwork on the pool patio, and then paint the open tongue and groove and exposed beam ceiling over the pool patio (approximately 800 square feet). Elias then apologizes because he needed to go back to the other job site since the owner there keeps adding things to be done, but that he will be back in the afternoon. I told him that if he wanted to postpone my job until he finished the other job that would be ok with me, but I wanted him on my job site. He assured me that he was almost done there and if I needed him for anything just to call and he would be back if needed. By 10:30 that morning the sub starts spraying the ceiling (which I had agreed to). I left and came back at 2:30 to find the sub working on repairing the fascia and soffits. I ask the sub boss (the best painter in Miami) how the ceiling is going and he tells me they are finished. I ask him when they will do the second coat and he tells me it has already been done. I immediately check the website for the paint and find that you need a minimum of 4 hours between coats in ideal conditions, if you are unsure wait 12 hours. I try to tell the boss and he does not understand what I am talking about (language issue). I called Elias and he tells me it is ok to do the second coat immediately. I tell him it is not and he needs to come over. About an hour later he shows up and I show him the website. He seems genuinely surprised that paint needs to dry between coats. He talks to the sub and tells me they will do a second coat. They might have, I never saw it. The next morning Elias and the sub show up and Elias again is apologizing since he has to go back to the other job. He starts showing me pictures of the other job to convince me that he is being honest. Elias just doesn’t get it. He promises to be back in the afternoon. Never shows up. The sub is now ready to start the walls. One is spraying the wall and another on his left side is back rolling to smooth out the paint. I call Elias. He was unaware of what his “employees” were doing, but tried to assure me that even though he committed to rolling the job, this was the best way to apply paint to stucco. (Not my experience.) As the sub is racing through the walls I asked the boss whether they were going to have enough paint for the second coat (I have about 2,800 square feet of stucco walls and they had only 15 gallons of paint). He said it wasn’t a problem since they were putting on both coats of paint at the same time. He claimed that the spraying was the first coat and the back rolling was the second. I called Elias. He said that he would be here the next morning. By this time Elias is exasperated and realizing that he has lost control of the job. He offers to leave the job and I can pay him whatever I think he earned. By this time I have paid him $3,000 (50% of the job) and I have half painted house. He suggests that we let the sub (although he had not yet admitted he had sub-contracted the job to a team of quick and dirty painters) do the initial coat and he would spend the next week fixing it and putting on the additional coats of paint. Against my better judgement and hoping against all hope that he will finally do the right thing I agree. For the next week he would show up for a few hours each day with a different “employee” (no idea where he found them) telling me that they were some kind of painting or stucco expert. Their actual expertise seemed to be holding the 5 gallon paint pail for him. He had half of a 5 gallon pail of paint left from the initial coat by the sub which he said he would use to put on 2 more coats of paint. When he finished, there was still one gallon of paint left in that pail. He would try to repair some stucco that the sub messed up, slap some paint where they missed or calling it another coat, try (unsuccessfully) to clean up the paint drops and overspray around the house, try to remove the red paint from the pavers by the front door where they neglected to protect when they painted the door, touch up the wrought iron which they could not clean since they did not have the tools (they tried to clean the wrought iron using putty knives), etc. Eventually we both gave up trying to salvage this job. I withheld 25% (first time I ever had to do this) of the price of the job even though that will not be enough to correct the problems. I could go on, but you get the idea now. I did not get the quality job I paid for. If you use Elias, you do so with the knowledge of my experience.
Description of Work: Pressure cleaning and painting the entire exterior of the house including stucco walls, soffits, fascia, exposed wood and beam ceiling on the pool deck, and wrought iron gates and treatments. Patch as necessary wood and stucco surfaces, remove rust from the wrought iron. All paintable surfaces were to be painted with one coat of tinted exterior primer and two coats of exterior flat paint on walls and two coats of exterior semi-gloss on wood surfaces. Rust-Oleum was to be used on the wrought iron.

Customer has an obsessive controlling personality and he wanted to control every phase of the work and also my employees. From the very beginning he was critical about everything. I objected to his MEDDLING in my handling of the work so I finished the project and walked away. There's nothing wrong with the work performed and the 10 yr warranty stands. It seems that his intentions from the very beginning were never to pay the full amount that he had agreed in the contract. My reputation as an honest businessman precedes me. This situation is a first. Everything else is commentary.

I chose Gables Pressure Cleaning and Painting after obtaining proposals from several companies. While the quote was higher than the other proposals and the proposed timeframe was longer, I suspected that Elias' attention to detail would be important in the job. I can now say that this was correct as the job required far more detail than I had originally anticipated and I now believe his price was appropriate. I also applaud Elias' efforts to go above and beyond my initial expectations and he was responsive to all concerns and questions. I have had very positive reviews from friends and family on the final product and would not hesitate to recommend Elias for similar jobs.
Description of Work: Exterior painting of house including windows and pressure cleaning of exterior surfaces (walls and floors).
Elias was very proactive during the entire process. He was punctual, organized, didn't cut corners and completed the work on time. My favorite thing about working with Elias is that he is someone I could talk to about the finishes. I am very picky and particular about the small details. Our house took a 180 turn when he started working on it. I was able to ask him to look into the little things I had always wanted to fix. Elias not only addressed those issues with me, but he found the solutions of several of those issues. I highly recommend Elias.
Description of Work: My husband originally contacted Elias from Gables Pressure Cleaning & Painting to pressure clean the pavers, the garage and paint the exterior of our new home. After meeting with him, we ended up giving him a lot more to do on top: inside painting, insulation of garage, fascia board replacement, level the pavers, painting inside the garage, pour concrete on the side of driveway, smoothing the concrete, change the outdoor lighting.

We were contacted by the Village Association that the roof needed pressure washed and fines were accumulating. I contacted Eli and he was able to get to it in the next few days. The price seemed in accordance with most places and he did a fine job with the roof. We then contacted the association inspector to view the roof and stop the fines. Inspector said roof looked fine but we didn't do the walkway and sidewalk and would continue to be fined for those (even though they look like the rest of the neighborhood). I forgot to check this when looking over the job on the roof and only mentioned it in passing to Eli but it was never officially part of the contract. I called Eli and explained the situation and he agreed to stop by and pressure wash the walkway and sidewalk as a courtesy. It was probably a 5 min job but he still had to make the effort to get to the house. That's the kind of customer service you don't often see anymore. He'll always have my recommendation after that.
