The experience with this company could not have been better! Jerry responded promptly to our call and in meeting with us. He was excellent in evaluating and explaining our needs, being readily available, and responding to our calls/texts until it was completed. The office staff were extremely polite and professional. We received advance notice by text of the arrival of the company employee who was coming to our house, including his picture. Oscar oversaw the project, explaining changes he designed to correct condensation problem and to ensure maximum and desirable air flow room by room. Oscar and Hector are true craftsmen and did a beautiful job, working without regard to the time it took until it was done correctly and to our satisfaction, and always with a smile and the most pleasant demeanor. We highly recommend this company and have already done so to friends.
Description of Work: Replacing/wrapping duct work, filter box, and registers; redesigning layout of ductwork to avoid condensation plus; and, without charging extra, correcting other problems in pipes created by previously used HVAC company. They wanted to make sure that everything that tied into or affected the work they were doing was done right.

The entire team at Old Coast was fantastic when I replaced my 12 year old HVAC system. My first call to schedule a quote was answered professionally and an appointment was immediately set...no messages or waiting for callbacks. My salesperson Brian was punctual and well prepared during our first meeting. He was very down to earth, gave realistic expectations on system needs and unit efficiencies and most importantly didn't oversell. He provided a new system quote within 48 hours with 5 levels of pricing and extremely detailed information on features. It was very easy to compare Old Coast's proposal with others and research system info online. The installation took one day and the crew was friendly, professional and left no mess. They did a great job of reworking my ducts in my attic and actually making the space easier to access and store items. With an older home and a new system, I expected some hiccups. When a few vibrations occurred, Old Coast was out twice to find the cause and were very patient in helping find a problem that was difficult to replicate (the embarrassing "it was making the noise before you got here" situation). Each time they came out the next day when called. They took pride in their work and wanted the system right just as much as we did. Our new system has been great to have this summer and I'd recommend Old Coast without hesitation.

Extremely professional. They took care to cover any carpets that they would be walking on. Explained everything and offered multiple options. Their price seems similar to other estimates, but I was impressed with their knowledge of efficient HVAC units and solar energy.

Great, Shane came over within a couple of hours of our call. He was able to diagnose the problem as a clogged drain pipe, attempted to clear it, and even gave us a name of a good plumber to call. He also only charged us the regular rate, even though it was after hours.

Old Coast responded to my inquiry on Angie's List within an hour or so after I placed the request. I scheduled an appointment and at the appointed date and time, Chris showed up to assess the problem. We talked about repairs and replacement, and I determined that replacement was the most practical thing to do. We discussed the units and options that were available and I selected the one that I though would fit our needs. Chris did a great job of explaining everything and leaving the decision making up to me. On the installation day, I was texted that the installers were in route, and sent emails with photos of the two technicians. They weather was horrible, with heavy rains, but the techs worked on as if it was a bright and sunny day, At the end of the day I had a new energy efficient unit and a very cool house. There was even a follow up inspection after the two techs had left to insure that everything was working fine. My experience with Old Coast was outstanding, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for HVAC service.

In my opinion, the team of Bryan, Oscar, Hector, Johnny, Jerry, and Benton did a PHENOMENAL job. ?They totally relocated my old air handler providing much needed access to other needed areas in the attic. ??By so doing they eliminated 15 feet of the main trunk lines as well as two 90 degree bends providing much better and more efficient air flow. Further, upon re-installing the older smaller unit, they noticed it had been originally installed incorrectly in that the refrigerant line was smaller then required for the unit. ?At no charge to me, they totally replaced the line all the way to the air handler in the 2nd story attic. Still further they resealed all duct connections throughout the house.? They also installed 4 solar panels on my roof, hooked them up to my main breaker panel, and while I won't be ?a major power station, there is a great deal of satisfaction knowing the I am offsetting my electric bill with the electricity they will generate.?Additionally, they arranged for an energy "audit" to aid me in maximizing my Georgia Power rebate. ?All work was neatly done, and the teams frequently checked with me as they did their work to ensure I was satisfied. The team was very knowledgeable and made me aware of the various rebates and tax credits available to me. ?While the gross cost of the work was approximately $20,000 the net cost after rebates and credits was closer to $10,000.? As an accountant, I did my homework and received the bids of the major contractors in the area and prepared a massive spread sheet comparing cost, efficiency, ongoing cost over the estimated life, payback period etc. While the 20.5 SEER system installed, along with the solar panels, was not the least expensive at the initial outlay, it was the most cost effective over the estimated useful and while the variable speed air handler is whisper quiet while providing an amazing level of comfort. I am more than very satisfied with the work performed by this team.

Everything as expected. Very professional. I didn't shop around a lot so I don't know if the pricing is optimal but since they were on Angie's List and well-reviewed, I went with them. No real complaints and I'd use them again. Purchased the annual service contract for two units so we will see how that works. Seems standard fare for the industry.

One word: AMAZING!!! We had 12 year old system that was on it's last legs. We called 6 other HVAC companies in the region and found Old Coast to be the most honest and knowledgable. The quality and attention to detail is second to none. They are not the cheapest game in town but I would NEVER pay bottom dollar for substandard equipment and installation. We've had plumbing and insulation contractors come to our house and commented on their work. And the best part is not only does my home FINALLY cool properly in the summer but we measured a 42% reduction in our electric bills compared to last year. To top it off, Old Coast provided complete assistance with Georgia Power rebates and we received a rebate check from Georgia Power for $3,225. Hands down, Old Coast is the best HVAC contractor! THANK YOU!!!

This was extremely weird. They installed a new HVAC system in our house last year, and we were extremely satisfied. Our house burned down this year, and we had them come out to give an estimate for installing a new HVAC system because our contractor uses a different provider. I had given the estimate provided by the contractor's HVAC subcontractor. They said that system would not work since we upgraded the insulation in our house to spray foam, and gave an estimate for systems that were 2 to 3 times the contractor's HVAC subcontractor. I said I could not afford to spend 20K on a system for a 1000 square foot house. After considerable back and forth, they ultimately came back with an estimate for the gear the contractor's HVAC subcontractor wanted to install that was 25% more expensive than our contractor's HVAC subcontractor. They noted in their proposal that this system could result in bad air quality. After calling in three other HVAC professionals - none of whom agreed with Old Coast and all of whom agreed with the contractor's subcontractor - we went with the contractor's subcontractor. I informed Old Coast yesterday. Today, I received an email from Old Coast to the effect that none of the other contractors knew what they were doing, and enclosing a brochure about the correct configuration of an HVAC system. I really found this beyond the pale.

[Member Name Removed]- I'm very sorry to hear about your experience. Im also sorry we couldn't earn your business this time. We're trying to make heads or tails of why your upset. Was it because we reached out to you after you made the decision to use another contractor out of concern for you and your homes well being? If it was please help us understand what we did that was offensive, and what we can do different in the future. You had a positive experience with us before, what was it this time that we did to upset you so much? I'm listing my phone number below so you know I am available anytime you want to resolve this misunderstanding. Truly very sorry. Zachary Freidman Owner/ President Old Coast HVAC Cell: 912-220-1138

We found out the day before Thanksgiving that we had a cracked heat exchanger. I called Old Coast the day after Thanksgiving to ask for a quote to have the unit replaced since it was an older unit. Bryan was out of town for the holidays, but still called me back that same day to set up a time to for the following Monday to come take a look. He was right on time for our first meeting, offered a fair quote relatively quickly. Sent his team later that week to do both the removal and install of the new system, as well as a technician to service our other unit. Every member of the team that I interacted with that day was beyond courteous. They were professional, they answered my questions, they were prompt and complete with their work. They were able to take pictures and point out some issues with the duct work that need to be resolved. The technician who came out to do the servicing, Chris, was top notch as well. He was thorough, took time to go through with us all his findings and recommendations. In addition, they helped connect us with an energy auditor to hopefully work on some home improvements to hopefully qualify for an energy credit through Georgia Power.
Description of Work: Removal of old gas package unit from house, and installation of new unit. Also serviced 2nd story heat & air system, as well as sealing where possible duct work for first and second story units, insulation wrap the electrical water heater.

They were OK. They did what they were supposed to do. We have two HVAC systems. Eventually, we needed to replace everything. We got a bid from them that was $6000 higher than the people that we used. Both of them needed to be replaced. Their response was fine. There were no other fee's with them. I had everything done at the Angie's List price. I think that they should have evaluated both systems, I thought full system was the entire house.

They were fantastic. They were punctual, professional, very thorough, very careful, and answered all our questions before, during and after the installation was done. They kindly agreed to do the initial visit & diagnose what was wrong with the old unit at a time when we were not there. They went out of their way to pick up a key at the property manager's office (a mile away) and return it after they were done. Old Coast (OC) called and explained carefully what was wrong with the old unit (they didn't just say it was old; they told us specifically what components weren't working or had deteriorated, and why replacement rather than repair was the best/only option. They gave us three different price options (differing capacity HVAC units, various options, etc) and did not give us the hard sell or pressure us in any way. They were very accommodating regarding scheduling the installation, as we had a really limited window of time when we could get there. The OC people would have been happy to do it when we weren't there, but said that questions sometimes arise and that most homeowners wanted to be there for such a major project, which is absolutely correct and responsible of them to recognize. The day they put in the new unit, the crew arrived on time. They were careful and made every effort to keep things clean while they worked. There was a snag when they took the outdoor unit off the truck and realized that the service yard gate was too narrow to bring it in. They handled it calmly, & called for another OC truck that had a hydraulic lift to come over and lift it over the fence. It caused about an hour-90 minute delay, but they assured me they could still complete the installation by the end of the day, which they did. They worked throughout the day, very conscientiously, and finished up around 7PM, which was in line with the time estimate they had given us before they started (after factoring in the aforementioned delay.) Our condo complex is old, including the plumbing and wiring that runs from the outside to the individual units. The new HVAC unit piping was not and exact size match to the old pipes, but the OC crew figured out a couple different ways they would be able to make the connection. They explained the options to me, and were very clear about the pros and cons of each. It was necessary to cut a small hole in the exterior wall to connect to the new outdoor unit, and they carefully looked at all the different possible locations to make the hole. They definitely cared about the aesthetics of the work, not just getting it done. They made sure I was clear on what they were going to do and that I was comfortable with how they placed the interior pipes leading to the hole leading to the exterior unit. They made sure the hole was properly insulated, patched and closed. They carefully wrapped and secured the interior pipes (ducts). They gave me a thorough explanation of how the new thermostat worked, provided a detailed manual, and said we could call anytime if we had questions in the future. They cleaned up their work area and took away the old unit and all the debris, and they thoroughly cleaned up the floor of the utility room and the surface of the service yard. I might have been able to get the unit and work done for a slightly lower cost, but this is the kind of thing that absolutely has to be done right, and Old Coast delivered. They provided great quality work, excellent customer service, attention to detail and they clearly know what they're doing, care about making sure their customers are satisfied with the work they do & take pride in that work. Definitely highly recommend, & we would absolutely hire them again.
Description of Work: Old Coast initially came out to repair our old HVAC unit (which had been in our 2-story condo for 20+ years), and after opening it up, determined that its useful life was over, and we then had them remove the old unit and install a new HVAC unit and thermostat. The HVAC unit (both old and new) included a large outdoor unit in the service yard and a large indoor unit in the utility room. We purchased the new HVAC unit through Old Coast.
