Description of Work: Called them to fix a very small leak in attic pipe. Technician had to leave house to get a piece of pipe. (Annoyed that such a standard supply was not on truck.) Said he'd turned water off & had to travel appox. 30' to nearest hardware store. After he'd been gone a few minutes I head sound of rushing water. The pipe in attic had burst & water was flowing full force into my house. Had to try to save my things in the attic & closet below on one of the hottest days of the year while I was dealing with painful case of shingles. Before this there were only 2 small water spots on ceiling. After, water came down and damaged closet below, powder room, and 3 walls of foyer. Tried to contact owner, Marc Jacobs, for WEEKS but he kept dodging my calls. Staff kept saying they'd left him my messages. When he finally came to my house to see the damage he flat out lied & said he'd tried & tried to call but couldn't reach me. I left several numbers with his staff repeatedly. I am a professional woman with a 24-hour answering service and voice mail on both home and cell phones. NEVER a message from him! He would not accept responsibility for the damage on that home visit, but agreed to send someone to estimate cost of repairs. The estimate from HIS contractor was $1,500. He delayed getting back to me for some time, and then wanted to bargain for how much of it I should pay. He repetedly said it was a homeowner issue and I should file my insurance claim. I repeatedly said it was solely HIS responsibility and my deductible was more than the estimate, plus I did not want to file a claim & risk having my policy increased. In Aug., 2014 he emailed me an offer to pay $1,000 of the estimated $1,500 cost for repairs. I was on my way out of town the next day & told him I'd have to think about it because my firm belief was that he was solely and fully responsible. When I got back I decided that after a year of intense consternation in this matter I was beyond fed up and losing $500 of repair money might be worth putting an end to the matter. He has since backed out of that offer & went back to saying I needed to file a claim on my insurance. To make matters worse, he sent an email in which he tried to dismiss the truth that water was gushing into my home full force even though he'd seen the damage. The technicin was appropriately remorseful when he got back to the house & saw the situation. He went outside & did something to the water line & the water stopped immediately. My intention has been to take Mr Jacobs to Court. My life has been complicated with a series of illnesses in family & friends, and increased responsibility caring for my elderly mother while still working long hours. Haven't had the time or energy to take him to Court, but still maintain he is wholly and solely responsible for the damage done to my home. If Angie can help me resolve this I would be grateful. If Mr Jacobs had been a decent businessman & tried to resolve this problem in a timely manner I might be able to say "accidents happen" and be less intense in my anger. I say to other Angie's list members, DO NOT NOT NOT EVER USE MR ROOTER!!!!! P.S. - I had signed up for a 3 year plummbing inspection program at $99. I called the day after the original service call to cancel it & was told my credit card would be refunded. Never happened. Mr. Jacobs later also said I would get a refund. Never happened.

Description of Work: An exterior pvc pipe elbow was cracked and needed replacement. They were on time, very professional, did good work. They came prepared for the 'worst-case' scenario since we might have had a cracked pipe underneath our garage, turned out to be a much simpler fix. Great service, will call again.

Description of Work: Tracked down a small water leak in a pipe in the crawl space under our house. Removed and replaced small section of copper pipe.

Description of Work: Great service, professional, uniformed. The technician Josh was helpful, made a suggestion which worked out well and end the end will save us time and hassel later. Well done, will use again soon on an upcoming project.

Description of Work: fixed collar on one toilet that was too high and caused to toilet to rock and leak at the seal. Power cleaned all pipes to clear clog in another toilet that plunging or snaking did not clear. did not have power machine first time out so scheduled another time for clear out. belt broke on machine part way through clearing process. Needed to order new part and come back another day. On the third trip out clog was cleared. Had to access crawl space under house and left access door on outside of foundation open which was discovered a week later. All in all work was done well and service men were very good.
