Horton Remodeling

Mr. Horton returned my message fairly quickly and I explained I was in a predicament with the damage that needed to be fixed within 2 days bc I had renters moving into the house. I was canceled on by another company the day prior who told me they could do it. That company is Paruso Painting and remodeling. I do not recommend them at all. Mr. Horton squeezed me in to his busy schedule and did a fantastic job. He even adjusted the agreed upon price to a cheaper one after the work was done bc it wasn't as difficult as he planned. This was great bc I would have never known. Thank you Mr. Horton!

I called thinking that the problem was a leaky roof. However, after a VERY thorough inspection, the gentlemen kindly informed me that I only needed to have the drywall repaired. He recommended that I contact a drywall specialist to ensure the job was done to perfection.

Mom bought an LG washer & dryer that stuck out to far for the original closet doors to go back on a close properly. John came out to assess replacing the doors to a laundry closet.

Not bad. Never got back to us on the window pricing- thought he had a lead on the m but never heard back after callung about it. The work done wasnt atrocious, but his crew could not get the damaged areas back to their original shape. Price was more than fair. Tony frequently called when/if he and his crew would be late, but usually were not.

Mr. Lawson arrived promptly, Listened to explanation of work I needed, offered suggestions. Submitted estimate. Arrived on time on the day scheduled with qualified men. Did the work in one day. Work was exceptional, much more than I expected. Did not ask for payment up front...Assured me he would return if I found anything needing furthur attention.tened

He tried to email us a couple times and we tried calling him. He told us that he had lost his phone while on vacation. Poor follow through.

We were dreading a kitchen remodel due to all the horror stories that we heard. We were pleasantly surprised with the process and I firmly believe that is because we chose Horton Remodeling. John was a calming force for me during this process. He helped us make decisions and worked well with the other contractors. He always accepted my millions of changes with a smile on his face. His men showed up every day which is a rarity in this field. When they left in the afternoon, it was the cleanest construction site ever. A small issue came up a couple of months after the job was completed and we called John. His men came out very quickly and fixed the problem. Although there were some problems with our other contractors, it was a great experience with John. I highly recommend Horton Remodeling!

We had a bit of trouble connecting at first, but finally met discussed what I needed. He showed me a catalogue of doors and explained what I would need living at the beach. I gave him a deposit to purchase the exterior doors but was going out of to town that weekend, coming back on Monday. He said he could start on the front door Monday before I got home and be almost done with it by the time I got back. Removing the front door turned out to be more difficult than he had figured, so he did the back door first, but was still mostly done with the front door when I got home. He finished up the front door and the two interior doors the next day and everything looks great. No complaints.

It has now been 4 weeks that I have waited for a promised estimate. After two weeks, I spoke with Mr Norton who apologized his email was malfunctioning. A promise to mail the estimate was broken twice. Simply if Mr Norton did not want the job, it would have saved both of us aggravation if he would have said on our third contact. My initial, and only contact, with Mr Norton I thought he was very professional and he seemed to be a sincere honest man. If the estimate was reasonable, he would have been offered the job.I write this evaluation with regret as Mr Norton's reviews prior to this year were very good. I wish him luck.

They responded very quickly to my request for work and were at the house within a couple days to give an estimate. The estimate was pretty much what I was expecting, so I went ahead and scheduled for the work to be completed in two weeks. During that wait time, it was very difficult to get in touch with them. I believe they lost a cell phone, but it was frustrating to not have phone calls and emails returned. I did get a phone call the day before the scheduled work day saying that they would be here in the morning. The work was completed on schedule. They had to patch some drywall and baseboards. The drywall looks great, but the baseboard work is so-so. It is very obvious where they patched the baseboards. They also had to touch up paint on the new drywall. The paint cut in area around the door is not a straight line at all. It's on the side of the door that you don't really see, but it could have been done better. Overall, I'd give the work a B. About the payment process. On Angie's list, it stated that they took VISA. When I went to pay with my credit card, I was told that they do not take credit cards anymore, so I paid with a check. That afternoon I spoke to my husband about it and was informed that my husband had spoken to him the day the work was started and Horton confirmed that they DID take credit cards. I find it hard to believe that the policy changed in three days, but if that was the case, we should have been informed before payment was due. It was frustrating to have each spouse told something completely different. Looking back, I should have called Horton as soon as I learned what he told my husband, but at that point I just wanted to be finished with it.

They did a really good job. I would give them a top rating on everything but price. They weren't the cheapest.

Mr. Horton installed a replacement garbage disposal for us. His work was good, but he isn't very responsive. We chose him largely because of his Angie's List reviews. It was a small job. His work was good, his price was reasonable, but getting in touch with him is hit and miss. In our case, he didn't return calls promptly - or at all. Most recently, we called on Friday and left a message. When he hadn't called back by Tuesday, we called again and got voice mail again. Still haven't heard from him and it's Wednesday. We are remodeling our kitchen and wanted tto get him to hook up the plumbing after our new countertops and sink are in place and give an estimate to install a tile back splash and new flooring. But alas, he hasn't returned our calls, which is most frustrating. He's a nice fellow and seems very trustworthy. Would like to have him do work for us again--if he'd call back.

We liked the services. They did a good job and cleaned up when they were done. I am a picky person and I think they did a good job.

They had excellent service and were able to work with us around our work schedule.

I had Horton Remodeling over to put in a bid for my remodeling projects and then I never heard from him again. I never could reach him on the phone when I first was trying to set up an estimate but he did eventually answer emails. He did give me a call when he was on his way to my house. While he was here, he was kind and professional. He seemed knowledgable and I was left with the impression I could trust him. We discussed many different projects but I was concern with three many ones. He was to put together an estimate and get back to me. I ask him to come back on the 15th to fix my light switch and porch light but after he left I never heard from him again. I tried calling once but I didn't leave a message. I felt like my small projects weren't worth his time.

It was great at first...My husband contacted Mr. Horton for an estimate. He called right back and scheduled an appointment. The appointment went great. He was very positive and helpful. He told us he would have an estimate in a week. He then contacted my husband and told him he was ill and it would be alittle longer for the estimate. We were very understanding and gave him time to recover. The holidays passed and my husband tried to contact him again. There was no reply and we have not heard from Mr. Horton since. I still have my old bathroom and just don't have the time or energy to go through such a process.

He was going to give me an estimate, but he never came back. He shared that he was an executor for an estate and that he was unable to come back right away. He said he would call in a week. That was some weeks ago. He?s a very nice man?very personable. He seemed to know what he was doing. That was a plus for me because it?s a big deal to have a condo redone in the city, and there are lots of students who could be renters. I don?t know what happened. I can?t say his work is bad. He was just going to give me a final evaluation and never showed. If he could give me a concrete time for doing the work, I would use him.

Excellent. John is a knowledgeable contractor who takes pride in his work. He offers suggestions but is not pushy. The quality of the work along with the pricing would have me calling John Horton again for future work. I have recommended him to several friends already.

He and his crew is stripping the paint outside. As far as his carpentry craftsmanship is fantastic. They are replacing all the window moldings and columns that were rotted. All the people that he has hired . It is just real professional. The team that he has hired are the best and they are people that you don't mind having around your house. He just brings everything to the job that you would expect. I couldn't be happier that I went on Angie's List and found them, I don't think I would have found them otherwise.

They got white paint on my red furniture. They had someone come out to clean it and it would not come out. They agreed to have the cushions replaced. The work is awful and my couch is still not the same. I was not satisfied with the services and will not use them again in the future.

Though I was a tense, nervous wreck and my husband extremely exacting, things went well. John was good at being calm and smoothing over difficult situations.

We are very pleased with the job that Horton did. John Horton communicated with us very well. The workers were very friendly. They arrived on time, or if they couldn't come when planned, then we got a call. Some delay occurred because of getting special order items. The job was completed within the time frame originally given, and they cleaned up after the job was done. The quality of the job was very good. We will definitely use Horton in the future and would highly recommend them.

We did not dislike anything; we thought he was excellent, easy to deal with and very reasonably priced. I will use him again in the future.

The job cost us about $2000. John Horton was good. We have recommended him several times. I talked to him about doing my mother-in-law’s house as well. They basically had to demolish the entire basement of my mother-in-law’s house for making it handicap accessible. John is definitely one of the guys that I would contact because he is a super nice guy. He is very knowledgeable about what’s going on. It’s not just the drywall stuff, but he is sort of like an all around guy. He can do the ceilings and the roofs. He can do the plumbing fixtures in the bathroom and just about everything that I want to ask him. He is going to be doing our roof pretty soon. He is really good about getting out and doing quotes for you no matter what it is.

Perfect - he came spec-ed out about half a dozen jobs and then we schedule them over the next six months. He brings everything needed. I check it out when finished. This is exactly as I like to work. I don't want to know the details or make decisions that I don't have the knowledge to make so I depend on him to "do me right." And he has!
