Horton Remodeling

Overall they did a great job. Mr. Horton and an assistant came promptly when they said they would, and cleaned up after each day's work. The plumbing, lighting and painting were all done perfectly and have functioned well for the past 8 months. The only problem occurred when Mr. Horton went to another job and left his assistant to work on our job -- the assistant put in the beadboard before the tile was installed, and then started setting the bathtub tiles to match the edge of the board working IN to the tub corner, instead of from the corners of the tub OUT. So the side walls of the tub ended up with a gap of about an inch in the corners, which they filled with cut tiles. When we saw the result, we were NOT happy and I was afraid I would have a fight to get them to re-do the work. But when I told Mr. Horton this was not acceptable, he immediately agreed to tear out the previous day's work and replace the tile (which we had bought) at his own expense. This of course was the right thing to do, but you never know whether or not people will do the right thing! He immediately purchased more tile and reinstalled the wall tile. We were very happy with the end result, which included two niches that he found a way to put in so that we have plenty of space by the tub for bottles etc. The beadboard was matched with some additional board so that it meets the tile exactly and without knowing what had been done, you would not be able to see where it was added. As I said, overall I was very pleased with the quality of the work. Mr. Horton is very responsive to requests and incorporated some additions (like the grab bar and an extra niche) into the work at no extra charge. He answered our questions without hesitation, and during the preliminary process, helped us decide what kinds of materials to buy. His choices, and his explanations of why he suggested them, convinced us that he knew what he was doing and could do the job. And I was very impressed by his professionalism and immediate willingness to make good on the one area where there was a problem. I will definitely consider using his firm again in the future.

All of my dealings with Mr. Horton went very smoothly. I contacted Mr. Horton regarding a home of a friend who recently passed away and of which I am one of the executors. He came out looked everything over and gave us an itemized proposal. The proposal was approved and we scheduled a time with Mr. Horton to begin work. His work, as always, is beautifully done. I have used Mr. Horton many times at my own home and will definitely use him again.

My husband and I had a mold problem in our Master Bathroom. After the problem was cleaned up, we found out that we would need multiple contractors for different jobs (general contractor, plumber and electrician). We thought the mold was the nightmare until we were faced with the clean up. All we saw ahead of us was dollars going down the drain as well as people going back and forth making promises they would not keep. After speaking with a few contractors and receiving their proposals, we looked to Angie's List for help. That is where we found Horton Remodeling. After my husband spoke with John Horton and scheduled a in home visit, we asked him to submit a proposal. John submitted his proposal in a timely manner. It was not the least expensive nor was it the most expensive but, it was very detailed and reasonable. They were able to do the work of all the contractors we thought we would need. After we accepted John's proposal, he instructed us to purchase our bathroom items and ask the store to hold it for him to pick up at a later date. Since we did not know how we were going to get the heavy items to our home or where we were going to store them. Being able to leave it at the store for our contractor to pick it up was a big relief for us. The Horton brothers began the job and completed it in a timely manner with very little disruption to our lives. Our bathroom looks better then it did before the mold problem. With the help of Horton Remodeling we were able to take lemons and make lemonade. We are looking forward to planning future projects with Horton Remodeling.Thank you, Pam and Raleigh

I was installing a new bathtub and was having problems with the plumbing. John came out and inspected my work and offered solutions. The next day he returned with a helper and in short order had fixed the leak, secured and leveled the tub, as well as leak tested the system. We were very pleased with the service and the price. We will definitely use his services again we we remodel the master bath.

Mr Horton presented us with his plan and estimate for our bathroom remodel and bedroom alterations. We were given choices in paint colors, tiles, fixtures and cabinetry. The job took a little longer than expected but once you get into walls and floors in an older home surprises do appear. The extra time was well worth it. Even with a few changes the cost was right on the dot. The work is beautiful and we couldn't be happier. We were so impressed that we have signed an agreement with Mr Horton for another job to be done soon.

He did most of the job while we were out of town, which did cause some heartaches, but John bent over backwards to accommodate us when issues arose. I would highly recommend John. While being truly professional he is also extremely personable. His integrity is beyond reproach. I am extremely happy with the finished product, if you will, and intend to hire Horton again in the near future. His pricing was very fair. Again I can't say enough good things about John Horton and Horton Remodeling, and they will be doing more work for me in the future.

Hired Horton Remodeling after fantastic job on spare bedroom renovation. Exterior windows,screens painting as well as reglazing was done well. Happy with repair on garage door. Thrilled that windows now have glazing. Painting on 2 entry doors not up to grade. Owner John was very responsive and attempted to fix, but not satisfied with final work on 2 doors. Old paint remains under new paint. I understand doors are old (1940's house, wooden doors) but after speaking to other painters, older paint could have been sanded clean and should have been part of the job for the price. Some employees did better job than others-quality control lacking. Owner had to redo some of painting and door repair. Initial time line not kept probably because of overbooking jobs and/or difficulties with employees. Again John tried to address this but seemed rushed to get it done. I agreed to hire Horton even though their estimate was more expensive than other companies based on the high quality work they did on initial spare bedroom remodel. To his credit, owner John is trustworthy and very responsive to texts/calls, but in the end feel like price was too high for final product. Thought I had found contractor to help finish other remodeling, but will now look elsewhere.

The work was performed on time, and for the amount estimated. To date I have seen no evidence of further leakage. I would use John again. He was polite, on time and seemed very professional.

John was timely in giving me an estimate. He showed up on time to do the work, and performed all jobs well and on time. Everything was cleaned up when he and his helper left the job site. Also, he did not charge me for the repair he made to my refrigerator door. I would definitely use his services again.

John did a fabulous job remodeling our guest room. The attention to detail was outstanding. Superb painting job. Even made special trip to purchase battery for fan remote. Wow. Restored my faith in the contractor work force by experiencing such high quality workmanship and seeing a job done with pride. Bravo! Gave great recommendation on paint color. Very trustworthy. Responded promptly to email, phone, text messages. On time, hardworking and very clean. Detailed estimate so very clear what was and was not included in job. I will definitely use Horton Remodeling for future jobs and highly recommend Horton Remodeling for all your remodeling needs.

Mr. Horton was very professional, responsive and provided outstanding service for the very reasonable price. His truck is well stocked with tools and materials but still required a trip to the hardware store! Doesn't it always! I would recommend him to anyone requiring plumbing services and will rehire him once again when needed.

It is always a pleasure to have John work on projects for us. He is quick, dependable, and trustworthy.

It wasn't an easy job, but he did good work. He had to go through the garage wall to get to the fixtures to replace. He knows what he's doing. He was timely and cleaned up after himself. We trust him and his work and he's coming back to fix our garage door. I would recommend him to others.

I think they were polite and professional. They showed up on time, and cleaned up very well after themselves. A few days after the work was complete, they gave me a follow up call to make sure everything was ok. It was very easy working them.

He was incredibly professional and even stayed past dinner time to finish the job. Our old jacuzzi tub is just like new and we couldn't be happier with the work John did. We're having him come back to do a few more jobs, like replacing bathroom fixtures and a garage door motor repair. It's so nice to find someone who's trustworthy, honest, and whom is wonderfully talented at his craft. We are customers for life!

Mr. Horton was extremely professional and did a great job on everything. My kids liked him a lot too, as he was very kind to them. :) I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

Horton Remodeling returned my call within an hour and made time to provide an estimate. Horton Remodeling went into tremendous detail on what the estimate covered and provided answers to my questions, even after his visit. Horton Remodeling completed the A/C repair and has not been a problem since. They did an excellent job on the drywall repair. I highly recommend HR as long as I can have their services first.

Everything went as planned. John was very responsive. He returned my call while camping with his family on the weekend.

Mr. Horton was very professional and took excellent notes as we walked through the house discussing the fixes necessary. He provided additional ideas and his estimate was extremely reasonable. Once hired he began work immediately and spent about 5 straight days working to standard and not to time. John never seemed in a rush to get the job done. He took his time to make sure it was done right the first time. The travertine back-splashes in both the kitchen and master bath turned out beautifully. We are very pleased with all the work Mr. Horton did for us and will be hiring him back in the spring to fix/power-wash/stain our back deck.

Horton did not charge me because it was a follow up from his first job. He is honest and does beautiful work. The only thing he does not do is roof and wallpaper. He has made things from scratch for me and they have been beautiful. He is licensed as well.

Mr Horton was very professional. Quick response to my phone call...was there that evening to give an estimate and work was completed within 24 hours. Charges for the job were exactly as he estimated...did a great job and cleaned up totally after the work was done. Even brought his own towels to clean up any water spills! Very impressed...would highly recommend him. We asked for estimates on further jobs in the bathroom and he responded within 24 hours. Price was fair for the work done and work was done quickly...what more can you ask?
