He was pretty prompt about setting up an appointment for the estimate. We met and discussed the job, and he said he'd get back to us with an estimate; we never heard from him again.

He was punctual. He explained everything that he was doing. He gave options about the cost and different ways of fixing it when I wanted him to do something in addition to the contracted work. He would let us decide what we wanted to do. He was not cheap but he was reasonably priced. He does a very good job. He is very clean, very neat and very thorough. If there was anything that was not done to my specifications, he was willing to come back and fix it. It costed us $1925. I will use him in the future. I already have some other things for him to do.

I checked Will Hudson's references (as I do with all contractors/workers). He came highly recommended and rightly so. He is one of the most thorough and precise home contractors who have ever worked for me, and I've had a number of them. He told me he loves working on houses, particularly historic houses, and takes great pride in his work. It really shows in the quality of his work! He is also courteous and clean cut. Will has worked on three houses (none historic) for me over the past 10 months. He did an excellent job of all the projects listed above and was careful to protect carpets and walls from damage while he worked. He thinks projects through and does research if he feels it is necessary to do the best job. He went on the Internet and found a firm in another state that stocked the color outdoor shutters I wanted and couldn't find locally. The company charged approximately 50% of local stores' prices, shipped directly to my home without a shipping charge, and didn't charge state tax. He made a suggestion that inexpensively (approx. $650) added over 200 square feet to the size of the house and increased its value. He noticed that the end of my house next to the garage was colder than the rest of the house and checked and found that the connecting wall was not insulated. He researched spray foam insulation, recommended using a relatively thin layer of it to make sure all cracks were sealed and then using standard insulation to reach R20. He will do this plus build shelves and a workbench, convert a porch into a room, and install gutters on the same house for me as soon as he has time.
