All work done by myself, no subcontracting. I do large jobs, as well as very small handyman jobs. Specialized in tiling, custom tile Schluter showers, backsplashes, heated ceramic floor tile, interior painting, fixtures, trim, and much more. Labor costs paid at end of job. First, I am so sorry I dropped the ball. I would like to explain why I sometimes fail to answer a request for work, as these F ratings from people like yourself are literally killing my business and stopping people from getting my quality of work and attention. I’d also sincerely like any suggestions that would have satisfied you better than your experience given my explanation. I work by myself. I do all the answering of calls, emails, texts. estimates, paperwork, material purchasing, and of course the actual work. I am not a General Contractor who handles everything and then hires others to do the work or has a team around them. I prefer this, as I am very particular about my quality and customer satisfaction. I do not answer my phone while I am working (hence the request for texts), because I don’t think clients want to be paying me to be talking to other clients. So after a usually grueling (but satisfying) day of work, I come home, feed the dog and cat, and call the people who contacted me. This can take 15 minutes, or 2 hours. I make some food, plan my next day with lists, do paperwork, collapse and sleep and do it again. Last year I received over 600 requests from Angie’s List alone which is excellent. However, I probably can only handle about 50 jobs a year. Sometimes I fail to respond to a request, usually because it isn’t a good fit. Sometimes I just plain fail to do it. It might be the volume of calls in a day, it might be I’m dead tired, or it might be a personal issue I’m dealing with like a rare day off or illness. I also failed to see how upsetting this was to people. Enough to rate my business with an F. It happens to me all the time when I need a service done. I just assume the person is busy and call the next person. I will have to find a way to respond to every person. Please don’t stop calling and texting. Description of Work: I called to get an estimate, she asked me to text her what we were looking for and that was it we never heard from her again so I can not grade this person's work beyond the scope of what I experienced. Hope she has done wonderful work for other people though.

Description of Work: I contacted the service provider by email who responded very quickly. She requested more information. I provided her with what she asked for and gave her 5 dates in the next 3 weeks that I would be available to meet her at the house for an estimate. The provider requested that I send her a reminder text message the following day so she could see if she was available to give me an estimate. I sent the text message the next day and received a response by text that the provider was unavailable at the moment to reply and if I needed to choose another provider it would be understood. Whoever sent the text claimed to be the spouse of Ms. Nickerson. I texted back and said that I could wait for a response on whether or not Ms. Nickerson could meet me for an estimate. 4 days later I texted again and stated that since I had recieved no response I assumed that Ms. Nickerson was too busy to give me an estimate. Ms. Nickerson responded by text and said that she could meet me the following Saturday to give me an estimate. I replied back that the following Saturday was not one of the days that I had informed her that I was available. I wished her good luck. She replied that perhaps I should find someone who was unemployed to paint my house because she was busy. She stated that the reason she did not answer me more quickly was because she was spending time with a former client celebrating a late Christmas, and then stated that she had no spouse that would have answered my text. The whole experience was bizarre.

Bizarre to say the least. This was the holidays and although I was busy, I tried, but could not coordinate a date with Mr. [Member Name Removed]. The calls got to be too much. I have absolutely no idea what he is talking about. He said my "spouse" answered my phone. I do not have a spouse and no one answers my phone except myself. I do recall the conversation at a Christmas dinner I was invited to at a clients house. Again I could not accommodate his ever changing schedule because I busy but offered him other dates. To say that I told him to "hire someone who is unemployed" is a down right lie. I told him that he needed to find someone who was not working on a job at that time. I was not able to cancel my clients jobs to meet his schedule for a free estimate

Description of Work: I started a large tiling job that I could not finish. I had initiated a tiling project that included all the common areas of the house (i.e., hall ways, kitchen, dining room, living room, etc.,) But, I could only go so far before it got more technically demanding and time consuming than I could commit myself to. Our house remained in a state of time suspension for about a year because I could not find anyone that I could have confidence enough in to do the job right, and safe with enough to allow into our house when we were not home. It turned out that Dietra lived nearby, and knew people of reputation that we knew who also had great confidence in her. We confidently entered into an agreement with her. She and her helper Beth worked with great commitment to principles of quality, careful respect of our property, yet steadfast haste. We were extremely happy with the finished job and hope to work with her in the future.

Description of Work: I called Dietra because my garbage disposal stopped working. This is one of the few times that my husband hasn't been around to fix things and so I called her because of her great reviews. Lucky that I did, she was able to solve my issue right over the phone. I am very thankful to her that she helped me solve the issue so quickly. I will definitely seek her services in the future.

We had a miscommunication at the beginning but everything got resolved and work progressed as planned. We were out of town and she sent us updates by email including pictures of the work. We felt comfortable giving her access to our home while we were gone. Whenever there was a problem area, she would email explaining the issue and gave a recommendation or options for us to consider.
Description of Work: Dietra tiled our sunporch first, then tiled the living room, dining room and hallway. Later she finished installing laminate in a bedroom we had started but just couldn't get around to finishing. Work was excellent. We will definitely work with her again.

We were thrilled with the end result. Some of our walls were in rough shape and Dietra did a fantastic job repairing and painting them. Her trim work is outstanding. Our house looks better than it ever has before!
Description of Work: We had a little bit of everything done! The majority of the house interior was painted, fireplace was trimmed in, bathroom mirror trimmed in, wallpaper removed, cabinets and drawers repaired, electrical troubleshooting, damaged interior trim replaced, deck stained, exterior rot repaired and painted, exterior lights replaced, etc.
