Dietra Nickerson

Dietra is extremely professional and thorough. We had a small job - a laundry room with decades old carpet in and she turned it into a beautiful mudroom ( okay that's what I am calling it now!) She is meticulous and precise which when married to an equally precise perfectionist- gotta have ! She delivered! I would so employ her services again! She was referred by another contractor who raved about her and that in itself is a great compliment. Thank you Dietra!

This is the third house for which I’ve hired Dietra Nickerson to help me with various phases of remodeling. She is my “go to” professional for all phases of remodeling. Since she works alone, her schedule doesn’t allow her to accept every job, but I would wait for her over using any other contractor, especially for her precision painting, attention to detail and eye for good design. For this job, prior to moving in, the house needed racks of wire shelving removed from closets, laundry room and garage, affected walls extensively patched, interior painting throughout, a powder room remodel which included building a partition wall and adding drywall, wainscoting, tile, finish carpentry, sink, toilet and lighting - a work of art! - removing and retiling a kitchen backsplash, adding under cabinet lighting, adding crown moldings, even adding a new dryer vent. In short, she does it all and does it well. Dietra is conscientious and meticulous. She works alone and with dedication to the job at hand, so don’t expect the kind of contractor who drops off a crew of helpers and disappears, or looks to do a speedy, shoddy job and move on. Hers is quality workmanship and she’s rightfully proud of what she accomplishes. The work on this job has taken about six weeks in total and I’m extremely pleased with the results. I recommend her highly and in fact prefer her workmanship over any other contractor I’ve used.

Unfortunately, we had a difference of political views and she never came out to do another job we offered her to do...Too bad because she is a great worker and very professional. We hired another contractor to do our kitchen. He's good but we were spoiled by her....

Dietra is fantastic! We had left a message on her phone and she messaged me back that evening. We made arrangements for her to come over to estimate the job required. We were very pleased with the estimate. We scheduled it to be done in a couple of weeks.after. We had some questions about the tile, and we ended up messaging back and forth while we were at the tile store. She guided us toward the type of tile we needed for the bathroom. It was a several day job. She was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable - a real pleasure to work with.. The quality of her work was outstanding! We could not have been happier. If we need any additional work, she would be the one we would call.

Excellent workmanship. Reliable. When she left everyday, she cleaned up and you would never know a major renovation was going on. Helped us pick appropriate tile, cabinets, and counter top.

I could not be more happy or satisfied with the remodel of my master bath. The finished space is absolutely beautiful and i owe it all to Dietra Nickerson! She takes such pride in everything she does and i would not hesitate to hire her again. The work consisted of removing the old shower stall, tile, wall, moldings, and part of the ceiling. This was no small chore as the tile had been installed using outdated methods and was incredibly tedious and difficult to remove. Dietra, however, (undaunted by this discovery) tenaciously persevered until every last bit of that old, ugly tile was ripped out of there! Ripped out and carried downstairs and out to the dumpster! Dietra did all this work by herself. When you hire Dietra, you get Dietra. Not someone Dietra has hired on for the job. I like that! So, after she took the bathroom down to the studs and the deconstruct was complete then the "magic" started to happen because Dietra is Dietramazing! She truly loves her craft and this is demonstrated by the finished project. From the well thought out and well placed tile, on the floor and walls, to the perfectly mitered baseboard and crown molding, to the beautifully painted walls, my master bath is extraordinarily beautiful! I selected Dietra after talking with several tile contractors. She was the only one who was willing to do a "small" job like renovate a shower in an existing (upstairs) bathroom. We faced some challenges in getting the right materials. It was important to me that the new shower tie in with the rest of the (older) decor because I was unwilling to gut the entire room and start from scratch, as other contractors recommended. Dietra met me at the tile store, gave good insights and suggestions about my selections and then was flexible about scheduling other work for a few weeks when we had to wait for delivery of some specially ordered materials. When the tile came in, she was promptly back on the job. She installed the tile, and in fact performed the whole job, with great care and attention to detail. She is also one of the best, neatest, fastest painters I've ever hired. As a result, I have a fabulous "new" shower and a master bath that I'm proud to show off. I would recommend Dietra without hesitation and I would absolutely hire her again. She is honest, professional, conscientious and talented.

Dietra did an excellent job, very professional, stayed on schedule, showed when she said she would be there.

She took out all the old cabinets, removed the soffit and redid the ceiling removing the "popcorn" and gave us a new smooth ceilings she took off the outdated tile from bathtub and installed a new waterproofed wall. She re-tiled the bathroom. Removed the outdated floor tiles and installed new beautiful floor tiles. New cabinets were installed, all walls were patched and painted. New baseboards installed and painted. New lights installed as well as new towel racks. Dietra did ALL THE WORK HERSELF. SHE CAME ON TIME AND CLEANED UP DAILY SO THERE WAS LITTLE MESS.. SHE DID A GREAT JOB AND I WOULD RECOMMEND HER HIGHLY TO ANYONE WHO WANTS A QUALITY JOB..

I contacted Dietra several months ago to assist me with a kitchen renovation. After several overpriced bids, strange people coming in my house and terrible experiences with other contractors in town, I was left with a HUGE, uneven, gaping hole in my ceiling and no kitchen to use for months. Well, Dietra came to the rescue. After hearing about her through the Savannah grapevine and seeing some of her awesome work around town, I gave her a call. As busy as she was, she must've heard the desperation and defeat in my voice and kindly carved out some time for my kitchen. I was lucky enough to have my brother's out-of-state company build me custom cabinets for the kitchen. However, we didn't know what would be in store when we discovered that the pre-existing walls were warped and uneven; the floors were uneven, the plumbing was "interesting", amongst many of the other challenges that were a result of unprofessional and bad work on the house over the course of 50 years. This was the biggest plus for me; Dietra is a true blue problem solver. She doesn't freak out, stress out, walk out, but she really takes the time to figure out the best solutions for things. She doesn't cut corners and takes time to do things correctly, yet efficiently. She jumped a lot of hurdles with all of the challenges that were in the existing space and found a way to work through all of them. (Even with laughs and smiles) From the installation of custom cabinets, to cutting and installing butcher block countertops, installing ceramic flooring, backsplash, my appliances, sink, re-framing out walls, building a shelving unit and making that huge HOLE in my ceiling disappear, and the variety of other things that went into this space: everything turned out perfect and I am so lucky to now, have the perfect kitchen. I loved that she didn't mind me being curious about the whole renovation process and would keep me in the loop, consult with me and help me figure out better alternatives to my sometimes crazy ideas. Dietra is respectful of your home, shows up on time, always communicates, works hard and is focused. She takes pride in her work and wants everything to be perfect, with an attention to detail that is unrivaled. After months and months of embarking on my own DIY projects (and not gracefully), I am so grateful to have found Dietra. She gave me the gift of an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING kitchen and I can't imagine using anybody else in Savannah for all of my many future projects. I almost don't want to leave this review because I would love to keep her and her awesome work all to myself! But, eat your heart out Savannah, if you need someone that is exceptional for virtually any project you have- I am certain that she's your woman! THANK YOU, DIETRA!! You saved me from my very own kitchen nightmare!

Dietra is wonderful! First of all, she is very prompt when responding to phone calls and texts. Very good communication all around. Always showed up on time. She's one of the only painters I could find in the area who accepts credit card payment (Paypal). Reasonable price. Great work. Reasonable time in completion of work. Finished ahead of schedule. She loves pets! She let my dogs out at no extra charge. I would definitely use her services again in the future.

The work was excellent. She is very timely and sticks to her estimates that is provided. We will be using her again in the future to remodel our kitchen and second bathroom.

Dietra was awesome to work with on our painting project!! She was professional, easy to reach, responsive to texts, worked on the job when she said she would (even finished early!), and our invoice was just as discussed. No hidden charges here!

She found it difficult because she ran into an electrical wire. She cut us a break on the price since it took her two days. The cat door had four bolts; she asked if she could omit one bolt because it was so hard to screw in. Here's the kicker: We've reopened the wall to do additional work (which we asked her to do and which she declined to do) and found out that she merely taped off the electrical wires with electrical tape and shoved it back into the wall. This is extremely dangerous because the wire was of such amperage that it could easily melt electrical tape and cause a fire. She also broke some drywall on one side of the hole and instead of repairing it, just stuck it back with a deck screw.

Deitre Nickerson worked quickly without compromising quality. I would recommend Deitre Nickerson without hesitation. I will hire her again.

Dietra was very professional and kept us informed every step of the way. I had also wanted a 2nd sink replaced but she found a problem with the pipes and informed me that it would require a plumber to fix it. She told me to get a quote and if replacing the sink was more from the plumber after fixing the pipes she would come back out and finish that herself. I would (and most likely will at some point) definitely use her again. She is honest and cleaned up after herself. It's refreshing to have someone like her on my "go to" list for home repairs.

We were doing a major DIY bathroom remodeling including adding a shower. Dietra tiled the shower (including adding the backer board) and the bathroom floor. She did an excellent job and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. Plus...she was always very punctual, worked hard and consistently until she finished, and left the job site very neat every day. She is very conscientious of doing a good job and does not rush herself at all. As this was a DIY remodeling project, she helped solve some problems that were a result of my novice workmanship. We were very, very glad we hired Dietra.

Absolutely perfect paint job. Other estimates had glossed over woodwork and doors, but Dietra knew just what was needed. She and her team removed an expanse of chair rail in several rooms and there is no visible patching. Best part is she is now a friend! I trusted her from the day I met her and felt completely comfortable turning over the keys to my house.
