I had used them last year to put a new coil in the other system. They were prompt, and that impressed me. There was a problem, and that was that they were supposed to come out and put a draft thing to stop the air from going upstairs, but they didn't do that. They promised they would come back to do that, and I called them about it, but they didn't come out. I was unhappy about that.

As usual Air Mechanix was there when we needed them. Our 1st floor AC was running, but stopped blowing cold air. It is 20 years old, so having a few problems. Called on a Friday, late morning and they were out Friday afternoon. It was our usual rep, so he knew, which is always good. The coils in the air handling unit had iced up. He got all the ice off the coils and cleaned them. He recharged the freon, which was low and caused the problem. Air Mechanix replaced our up stairs unit back 6 or 7 years ago. They have been our go to guys since. They have always been timely, professional, and reasonably price. We would highly recommend them if you need a new unit or a repair.

[removed member name] first contacted our office on March 28th and our technician was on site on March 29th. [removed member name] request for materials was very specific, highly specialized and not available locally. We did have to research the materials list to find suppliers and then get pricing from them. This did take time, however, we did have an estimate to [removed member name] on April 12th, just two weeks after his initial contact. We do apologize for the fact that it took us that long but, all things considered it was better that the "several weeks" that Mr. Volkmann described in his comments.

My central Air stopped putting out cold air. I called Air Mechanix to have them come and look at it. The receptionist said she could get them out to my house the same day, but it would not be until the afternoon. I was grateful to be able to get same day service. She called me back at about noon and said she had a technician that could be there in ten minutes. He troubleshot and repaired the problem quickly. He said I had a bad capacitor and replaced it. I am on Georgia Powers summertime-out service so we had to wait for their box to reset before he could turn the AC back on again. Meanwhile, he took the time to explain what the part did and how it had failed and gave me some general information about my unit and certain requirements for the different types of coolants used. All very informative. When the AC was turned back on I could already feel the air was cooler. He went back behind himself making sure that he had cleaned up anything and closed all doors. I would recommend them to friends

When the day came to do the work, nobody showed up at the scheduled time. I called the company, and after being on hold for an unusually long time, the receptionist came back to tell me that the guys were on the way. They finally showed up, with the wrong unit. From conversations it was clear that they were a scratch team thrown together at the last moment and only because I'd called. He didn't know what my needs were because he'd not been involved in the estimate and the office really didn't know what he needed to do! At first he was told someone would bring the correct unit out to him. Finally he was forced to go get it. The techs did a great job given the situation. The heat was extreme in the attic, and because the office has dropped the ball on sending someone to the appointment at the time scheduled and with the right unit for the job, these guys were forced to work in the worst heat of the day. They did discover a slight leak at the outside unit that they tried, unsuccessfully, to stop. But the tech said the office would send the regular tech out the next day to address the leak. The next day came and went without anyone showing up. After I called again the second day to say the new unit wasn't cooling they finally sent the tech out. By this time most of the freon had escaped from the system, so he had to block the leak and replace the lost freon. Overall, this wasn't the best experience. The techs that did the repair did a darn good job under miserable conditions, but the management staff dropped the ball badly, not once but twice.
Description of Work: The A/C in my new house was not working. I called Air Mechanix and they determined the coil was badly rusted and leaking. Another fine product made in China! 8 years old and shot. At any rate, we agreed to replace the entire heat exchange unit. I gave the tech three days in the following week to make the repair before we moved in. They picked the final day of the window.

We apologize for any inconvenience you may have suffered. However, the summer months are the busiest of months of the year. We have many customers to service, and we try to get to them all as quickly as possible. We do understand that it is uncomfortable when the temps are in the 90s and up. Often the suppliers are backed up also, so it takes longer to purchase the equipment needed, this was the case that day. When you called, you needed to speak to the dispatcher, she was on the line with a customer and answered your call as quickly as possible. We know that any wait on the phone can seem like an eternity, however, again, it is the busiest time of year and we try to keep customers on hold no longer than 3 minutes. Our men work in the heat all day and, yes, they even do it in the worst heat of the day. That is the nature of the trade! The tech who had diagnosed the problem ordered the correct air handler, unfortunately, the supplier did not give the install crew the right model. Mistakes happen (we're only human) and the lead installer did not verify the information that morning. Summers are difficult, people can be impatient, and they never want to hear that they are scheduled for the afternoon. We understand that, again, the temps are VERY uncomfortable! We try to get to everyone as quickly as possible and we do not take more work than we can do in a day. Many times our men work late into the evening, just to make sure that someones air is up and running at the end of the day.

They were wonderful. They really solved all the problems we had. We did not have to spend too much money either. We found that they had good reviews on Angie’s list too. It is a really good company. We called them and they came down and looked at the problem. I have nothing to complain about.

This was not the professional experience that i would have expected from any service company. I contacted Aire Mechanix to set up an appointment. I explained my goals - That I needed to have my system serviced on a regualr basis and, I needed to either get the same kind of wholehouse air filter Or, consider a more efficient system. From the first call, the telephone service was excellent. The office sent out one (or two?) of the sons to look over my system, to see of another type of whole house filter system would be better. As I could not tell them much about the a/c system, they felt it was necessary to see it first. I was fine with this. We scheduled the appointment. The sons came out, looked things over and mentioned that the a/c system was not old. I agreed and said that i was consdering replacing the air filtration system (aprilaire ) and wanted to know what options they had to offer. in addition, I wanted to have the system serviced and cleaned. They left and said that I'd hear back from the office, the next day. When I did not have a message at home, I called the office. I explained that I was wating to hear back from them regarding the replacement filtration system & system cleaning. The office had me speak with the owner, who was there at the time. I re-explained everything. He said he was still looking into this and to give him some time. I was fine with this and told him so. The following week, i contacted the office, speaking to his wife. She suggested that I send an e-mal to him to remind him about our conversation. I did this. After a few days, I called the office. The owner was not in. However a message was to be given to him. I asked the office to please let me know if there was a problem, as I really needed to make a decision (to replace air cleaning system or just get a replacement filter - as well as to get the system cleaned, due to my allergies. ) I said at that time, I would have to make a decision, as it had now been over 2 weeks. I re-submitted the e-mail.. HOwever, I did contact another company, to begin the process, in case I did not hear back. In fact, I never heard back. I moved on to a successful completion, with a different local company. Communication and customer service are cornerstones for any business. Without either, there is no consistency to any business. IIt was unfortuntate that this occurred wtih a business that had had high ratings from Angie's List. Any positive ratings were based on the work by the sons and the office staff.

I mentioned above that the home inspector initially found a problem, which is because we are buying the house, but have not closed yet. Our home inspector told us that the condensation line was leaking, and it's evident by the wall and ceiling in the kitchen below. My boyfriend was in the attic with him when he found the source of the leak and recommended we get an HVAC tech to inspect it further. There's $85 I'll never see again. I found these guys on Angie's List with tons of good reviews, so I called and asked if someone could check out my system and let me know how much it would cost to fix it. They scheduled the service within a few days and told me that someone would call me after 3pm on Friday and let me know when he would be there. Around 1pm I got a call that they tech was already there, and i couldn't join him at that time so he did the inspection alone. The office told me they would email the report to me Monday, but the tech apparently hadn't turned it in yet, so I waited until Tuesday before I got frustrated. When i finally got an email from them that day, it was the report for someone else's house. That's not a huge deal, but further shows a lack of organization. When I did get the correct report, it gave me absolutely nothing. They told me how much power was in the unit, what the temps were coming out, and that while it doesn't need to be replaced yet, it's old and I should replace it anyway. The tech had no idea the unit was leaking at all. The report didn't include any price estimates, and didn't mention the problem I orignally called about. I was able to get estimates, but I don't understand why they weren't given up front. Perhaps this was a different type of report, but that's not what I asked for when I called. I shouldn't have to know a bunch of stuff about HVAC systems to get mine repaired. The people I spoke with were courteous, but I won't be hiring them to do the work.

Response from Air Mechanix
We inspected the property at the customers request on Friday June 8th. The customer was told that we could not guarantee that a tech would be there at 3:00 as she requested but, that it would be between 12-4. We also said that we would call approximately 45 minutes before the tech was due to arrive. We called nearly an hour before he got there but, the customer did not return our call until he had already arrived at the home. She stated that she could not leave and gave us the lock box code to get in. The tech did a thorough inspection of the system and found that it was a 16 year old system (a fact which the customer mother argued with us) we confirmed this with the local Rheem dealership. The condensing unit was manufactured the 17th week of 1996 and the air handler was manufactured the 12th week of 1996 (these dates are contained within the serial numbers), but it was working fine with an 18 degree temperature drop, which is excellent. We did NOT recommend replacement but did give a cost for replacement at the customers request, noting that while the system was working just fine at the moment, it would eventually need to be replaced. As for the drain leak - the customer said the home inspector found evidence of a prior leak however, no leak was evident at the time the tech was there and he could not stay long enough for the system to produce enough water to show a leak, the customer most certainly would not have wanted to pay for a second hour just to wait for water to appear. We gave her the cost to replace the entire drain line so that, if the the line was still leaking and a crack could not be found, the cost would not be more than $150 for a whole new drain line. If a crack was found and repairable, the cost would be much less. As to the report - Had the day gone to the house and met the tech she would have gotten all of this info that day, the tech wrote it all out on the invoice. We did type it and e-mail it to her and that was done on Tuesday morning June 12th, just over one business day from the time of inspection to the time of the report. As for sending the wrong report - we had 7 inspections that day from that technician, mistakes happen (we're only human) and as soon as the customer informed me of the error, I corrected the report. Two reports were made because one pertained to the inspection and one to pricing. We certainly never would try to push a customer into replacing equipment when it is not necessary, that is not how we operate! I believe the customer is a first time home-buyer and as such is not aware of the time it takes to do these things. We do inspections for a number of realty company's and have never had a complaint about how detailed our reports are. If the customer did not understand the data she could have said that. What we got was a call arguing about the age, whether or not the tech "really" looked for the leak and whether or not the system needed other repairs. She still did not understand, the unit was working fine, no repairs needed. If anything was needed it might be the drain line and that cost would be no more than $150. I'm sorry she feels she had a bad experience but, we were honest and up front about everything. There really isn't anything wrong with that system it is just old but working fine.

This company actually works out of the owners home and all their trucks line the street all night long. During the day the driver's cars line the street. This is not professtionalism in my opinion. It helps drive down the prices of the other houses on the street. They do have a small office where they listed but I do not believe the use it.

I'm not really sure how the customer came to the conclusion that we work out of our home since she has never introduced herself to us or even said hello. But since she seems worried about property values, let me just say that we have lived here for more than 22 years and the property was just fine when she bought her home only a couple of years ago. And during the day the cars she complains about are my kids cars. We have 2 work truck parked after hours at our home because we are a "family owned and operated" business and , she should know (since she complained to the county) that we are legaly allowed to park them at night, I am certain the county inspector notified her in answer to her complaint. If the customer would like to check the validity of our office she should come to 205 D Johnny Mercer Blvd. Where we have been located for the last 6 years. Parking a work vehicle has nothing to do with "professionalisim" but, it does have everything to do with security. Our trucks carry thousands of dollars worth of tools and materials and last but not least, we have been directed by the county that we were not allowed to park our work trucks at our office that we HAD to take them home at night. I'm sorry that you feel that a couple of trucks are affecting your property values but, those trucks were here when you bought your home, if you didn't like the way they looked on the street why did you buy in our neighborhood?

They reused my existing filter enclosure and duct work, great job, love the new unit, so quiet and no temp swings, they also did almost all that the salesman promised. They even can back the next week to fumigate my ducts without me having to call to remind them. Good outfit.

I really like them. They are family-owned. The mom, dad, and son work for the business. It's a great little company. We have some questionable HVAC people in town, and we have been down that road. We like these people. They are great people.

Nice gentlemen (Justin and Cory) appeared promptly after a requested call for a checkup of our air conditioner units (two). It turns out we need a compressor or an entire unit (decision left to the homeowner) and we will be working with the home warranty folks on that. In the meantime, Air Mechanix was able to replace enough parts and add Freon so that the temperature reduction was increased by 13 degrees, from 85 to 72. I feel confident that nothing was done that didn't need to be done, and Justin took great care in explaining all the technical terms relating them in such a way that it made it understandable. When we replace the compressor or get a new unit, we will definitely be using Air Mechanix. Thank you for your prompt, efficient, friendly and honest service.

Description of Work: I decided to check Angie's list before finalizing my plans to change HVAC system. I noticed Air Mechanix, read all the reports and contacted them for one final assessment. They can the same day, and determined that I did not need a new system ( just yet) but instead needed to have my coils cleaned. According to another company this type of service would cost $800.00-1000.00. To my surprise, the total cost after cleaning was $157.00

Our unit had started to freeze up so we had a company come in and spray in solution to stop any leaks. We then got a quote to replace the unit but it was way over the top. They didn't provide us with any information as to what had happened or what may happen and as we ended up finding out the unit was badly rusted and had other issues.
Description of Work: We had Air Mechanix go out and check on our heating/cooling unit to check on a previous problem. They were very courteous, understanding, punctual and priced very reasonably. Their report came back to us honestly with regards to the unit and what we could expect from the unit due to it's age.

They were excellent. They worked until it was fixed even though it was after hours; he stayed all day until he got it running. When they replaced it they took down the fence, traded out the machines, and put the fence back up without harming anything. The price was very good.

The guys that showed up were great! They were able to help us out on short notice and went above and beyond what I called them there to look at. They gave us the options available for new screen panels and, once installed, they walked me through how to work it. They looked at our vents and made me aware of an immediate concern with our water heater, for which I am extremely grateful. I would absolutely not hesitate to call them again if I have any Heating or A/C needs!

This company sent a representative out at the time/day I requested; with arrival exactly at that time. I was impressed with the friendly, professional explanation from the representatives. Within a few minutes, the problem was fixed and they were back on the road. I definitely will use this business again.
