I had a light that went out in my kitchen that was a florescent light. I had them come in and give me a quote on some pot (recess lighting) lights. I had gotten another estimate for the same thing from another company whose price I knew I couldn’t afford. I had them give me an estimate and it was $1200 cheaper than the previous company.
Description of Work: They are the best of the best when it comes to customer service. I had them do the work the same day they gave me the estimate because their price was so good. They were quick, they cleaned up well, and they followed up with me to make sure I was happy with the work. I then referred them to a couple of friends who ended up using them and Thrasher sent me a gift card and a coupon for them as a thank you.

We lost all power to an upstairs bedroom (home office) and adjoining bath. After trying all the breakers and having no success, we did some research on Angie's List and contacted Thrasher Electric. They were able to provide a quote for a diagnostic fee and a diagnose & repair option over the phone. We scheduled an appointment. The gentleman who came to the house was very courteous and prompt. He even called when on the way to advise he was enroute. We were very impressed at how thoroughly he checked all of the outlets, wall switches and electrical fixtures (fans, installed lighting). Turns out we had two different issues caused by a lightening strike. There was an issue in our breaker box and we had a fan that had been overloaded. He showed us the burnt wiring and told us that while the fan appeared to be in operational condition, he would replace it if it were his home. He neatly left the fan and components in the room should we have chosen to save it. (It went out in the trash). The bill was exactly as quoted when we made the appointment, no surprises. We would most definitely call them again for any future electrical needs.

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT. From initial contact through completion of services, Wayne was EXCELLENT! We had a pain-in-the-a** ceiling fan to install but he got it done. He called before he came out and arrived at the beginning of the service window - which completely shocked us!! ;) We had a MAJOR concern about our entire home wiring. We had been told by 2 people (non-electrians) that we had aluminum wiring. Wayne confirmed that we had cooper (except to the stove where aluminum is common) and that everything looked fine. He even inspected an exposed wire outside and told us it was safe. He mentioned that we needed some GFI outlets in an exterior bar area - which we knew about; however, we simply don't have the money to pay to have them replaced right now. We highly recommend this company. Pick them before anyone else! You WILL NOT be disappointed. Be sure to read our other reviews to see that we don't just hand out A's to every provider - only to those that really deserve it!

They arrived on time, walked us through, gave me an estimate, went over the estimate in detail, I selected which items I wanted to proceed with, and he was able to commence work immediately, as he arrived with a fully-stocked truck. He worked for close to 8 hours the first day, and returned two days later when my schedule permitted and worked an additional 8 hour day to install the remainder of the work. He worked the whole time, did everything right, was neat, cleaned up and the installations look great (and work). Really happy with everything.

Electrician Mike was very prompt and did a very thorough job. The quote for the job was $149, but he realized that a part of the chandelier(that I provided) needed to hang it was missing, so he went to Ace Hardware and picked up the part, which was $31. He also had to replace a "box" in the ceiling in order to properly hang the chandelier. The box was $78. My total was $258, but with my 10% coupon was $233. I was very pleased with the work, and feel comfortable that the chandelier won't fall down in my daughter's room.

The first tech that came out, Mike Stewart, was polite, professional and did exactly what was asked of him. High praise for him as an individual. After contracting additional work, the second tech did not do what was agreed, left the majority of contracted work undone, left a mess and collected payment from another family member, (the work agreement was made with me), for an amount that exceeded the price given ahead of time for ALL of the work. Then he left unannounced, sneaking out the back door with the check from my 80 year old father. When I spoke with the owner of Thrasher Electric, his comment was that they didn't feel that it was a" good fit" and that the work is too difficult. I did not negotiate an agreement with them: they presented the offer to us and we accepted their price and conditions. We contracted a list of work that they proposed to be done for a price. They dismally failed to deliver. Two of 5 things were done poorly, with a portion of the work left in an amateurish and incomplete state. It was a completely dissatisfying experience that was handled by the provider in an unprofessional manner, not to mention expensive in the end, with work left still to be done.
Description of Work: Thrasher Electric was hired pull a new circuit and install an outlet. Several days later I contracted additional work with them.

This customer repeated asked our electricians to do work on the side for cash, ask them to leave things off the quote for tips, and deliberately took advantage of our company on multiple levels to such a level that we could not continue to work for him. Thrasher Electric warranties the workmanship of its installations for life. If there is any outstanding quality or code issues please call Josh Brooker at (770) 356-9696 to have them fixed immediately.

Overall, I was very happy and impressed with the gentleman (Kevin Dell) who arrived at my home from Thrasher Electric. He arrived exactly on time, was clean and neat in his Thrasher Uniform and had ID information. Upon coming into the house, the first thing he did was put covers over his shoes. I had just had new floors installed and this evidence of care for my home was important to me. Kevin then queried me as to why I wanted this whole house inspection and any other concerns I might have. I explained that the fact the house was about 30 yrs old and that I had added so many new electrical appliances (tv's, computers, dishwashers, recording devices, etc.) that I wanted to be sure there was enough electrical power coming into the house to be safe and not cause any electrical fires. I then told Kevin that I also had a bathroom ceiling fan that had not worked for several years that I wanted him to repair, if possible. Also an outdoor light installation. Kevin went right to work and checked out every outlet in the house, and looked for signs of problems. He then inspected the wall fuse box in the garage. He suggested that it should have a whole house surge protector put into the box, thus stopping any surge of power or lightening etc. from proceeding into the house and causing fire etc. The manufacturer guaranteed it for 25 years and it covered any items damaged due to failure. It was well worth the cost. Next, Kevin got parts from his truck and repaired the bathroom ceiling fan and replaced the old cover w/a new modern one. I had purchased large motion detector light fixtures for the front and back doors, but the back door one caused installation problems. Kevin also fixed that immediately. Upon completion of my requested jobs, Kevin sat down w/me to explain that the wiring in the house was in good shape and what the surge protector would do etc. He then gave me a written report with itemized prices for the jobs he had completed and the suggestion of others and thier cost. My kitchen needs updated outlets. The larger concern was the fact that the garage door motor in the middle of the garage ceiling was operated by two extension cords connected to each other and then to the receptacle near the floor of the garage. He suggested putting in an electrical outlet in the ceiling near the garage door motor, which would also provide electricity to a task light inthe attic which now had one that was also working via an extension cord plugged into the same outlet at the bottom of the wall near the floor. The quoted cost of installing those was also very reasonable. I will definitely call Thrasher to schedule the additional items -- and will contact them in the future for any of my electrical needs.
Description of Work: I live in an older home and have been concerned about the adequacy of the electrical wiring coming into the house. Blinking lights etc. I did not have an electrician that I was confident in for any work. Angie's List Big Deal for an $89 Whole House Electrical Safety Inspection seemed tailored for me! I also had a bathroom ceiling fan that had not worked in years and questions regarding other items that were in need of repair. A whole house surge protector was placed in the fuse box to insure against damage to electrical items or fires. An outdoor light was installed.
This is my third great experience with Thrasher Electric. I hired these guys to install 9 motion-sensitive lights around the perimeter of a building and troubleshoot and repair two electric circuits that were damaged from vandalism. The lighting installation required running new wire around the soffits and installing fixtures. Three of the lights were on 30 foot poles and lit a parking area. The installation was very well done and the lights work well. The cost exactly matched estimate and all the work was accomplished in a single day. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and the final project. The electricians arrived on time and were properly uniformed and drove well-marked trucks. I highly recommend Thrasher Electric. They are professional, friendly to deal with, and do excellent work. I appreciate the warranty they offer on their work, too.

I have used Thrasher Electric LLC Company three times. They have a very good reputation. They give the estimate and do the work then and there. They pretty much come out quickly when I call them. They have always been very punctual. I’m probably not going to use them again in the future mainly because of their price. They have done a lot of work for us in the past however; they never seem to be willing to negotiate on their price. It’s too high. I could have got the job done else where but I thought I should first call Thrasher Electric LLC Company because I trusted them. They should at least be willing to waive their $30 trip charge. I was a little disappointed with them charging me extra. I might consider them for bigger projects in the future but not for regular routine work.

We contacted Thrasher Electric for a quote on recessed lighting in the kitchen and replacing two ceiling fans & one chandalier in our two story rooms. Mike showed up within the schedule slot and was very professional answering all questions and providing advice. The quote we received was competitive for the recessed lighting. However, I was surprised how high the quote was for the ceiling fans and foyer. Mike then explained that the install price would have been more of what I had expected if he could use a 14ft ladder. But since he needed to use a 16ft ladder, the price would be double. So although both ladders were on his truck, the additional two feet in a ladder's length caused the price to double for each fixture with no reduced cost for the second or third fixture. I asked if there was any way around this (especially since there were other projects in the house). He called his manager and said they could not work with me because a 16 ft ladder was required. He then promptly left. In the end, I was very dissappointed because I had high expectations from Thrasher Electric based on the reviews as well as personal references. But unfortunately I could not proceed with them because I could not understand why they would double their prices for two feet of ladder when it was already on the truck. Since this time, I have receive other quotes from other companies that are more reflective of my expectations and do not double based on the length of the ladder.

We understand that sometimes prices can be higher than expected and that can be a frustrating experience. Unfortunately, your project required a special type of ladder and two men to set it up which is a significant cost. We work hard to provide excellent service at a fair price and consistently hear that we are a great value when compared to other reputable companies. That is why we always give our very best price upfront which means you never have to haggle or negotiate to get the “real” price and you know the exact cost before we start. That is our flat rate guarantee. We are glad to hear that we scored an A on service as that is the most important thing we do. We are sorry we did not meet your price expectations and wish you the best with your project.

I called and ask for some basic services, they told me I had to put up a credit card first for a trip charge. I explained that I do not give out credit cards over the phone to new vendors and that I would happily pay cash for the trip charge. After they said they would waive the trip fee the person changed her mind in mid conversation. I ask for the credit card charge agreement to make sure they would only charge me the trip charge and they would not give me one. I told her I was a long time Angie's list member and she did not care. She blew me off after that. Hmmmm.... I was willing to pay cash? Need my credit card....please.... Buyer Beware. When companies need a credit card first it is a red flag for me. They say it is for the trip charge but it opens a door for most companies to charge you erroneously. Whatever happened to the day where the company does the service and consumer pays? Angie's list winner or not, companies should respect valued members better and be more flexible especially when consumer offers to pay cash.

It is an excellent company to deal with. They did very good work. The quality of the work was top notch. It was worth the money. I did have one issue that they had to come back for; one of the parts they used was defective and they cheerfully came back next day. They replaced the broken switch that was installed. I had a broken switch from the manufacture, that was not behaving properly and they came back, had no problem and replaced it.

I previously ordered the parts online. They installed the exhaust fan in the guest bathroom. They vented the fan into the attic, replaced a couple of GFI switches and ran a switch line for the canned lighting in the shower. Total cost of the job was $1177. Much of the cost was towards their labor; however my supply cost is also included in the total price. They charged me $29 to provide an estimate. At first this bothered me, but they said if I used them they would give me a 10% discount applied to the total price. They honored this at invoice time. They gave me a four hour window and came out within that time. They were here for quite a few hours as there was a lot of work involved, but they stuck to their pricing. They were neat, personable, professional, and knowledgeable. I appreciated them and I would have them do more electrical work in the future. I thought their price was high. The quality was excellent.
