Complete flooring did a great job on our floors. They matched the existing hardwood floors exactly. They were flexible with our schedule and very responsive. We are very satisfied with the results and will use this company again for tile installation.

Everything went great and our floor looks spectacular. They were incredibly easy to do business with. I had a lot of questions at first about matching my existing floors and the type of wood to buy, etc. John was very patient and helpful and answered all my questions thoroughly. If I left a message he always called me back timely. He even advised me about the wood purchase. Once the wood was delivered and had time to acclimate, we scheduled the installation. Damon and Michael arrived that morning and got started right away and completed the job by that evening. They were courteous and extremely hard working. Damon was great about answering all my questions about the new floor and my future plans for my older existing floors.

Went great! This is the same company that installed the floor in the first place (just a few years ago, alas) and they were so good last time, that I called them again. All the same stuff I left in my previous review goes for this encounter, too. (And now we've done a french drain and new gutters, so it is to be hoped that I won't need them again - for this particular work, anyway.)

Nancy B.04/13/2015EditThis is not the first time I have used Complete Flooring. The first time I used the team to laid down butter oak hardwood floors. This time another crew came and refinished the other part of my house (my hallway, 3 bedrooms to include the closets). I was told that we could not be present in the house while they were working, so I scheduled the work to be April 8-12 at which time my husband and myself were out of town. Three days before Daniel came to my house and we discussed exactly what he needed me to do. I asked him if he would put the funiture back in the same place. They not only did that be they took my clothes out to the closets so they dust would not get on them. I had a bed that had 2 legs that needed to be put back on the bed. Daniel and his crew fixed my bed so now all the legs are together. I had not stopped the mail, so I called Daniel and asked if he would take in my mail. I also asked it he would bring the trash can up to the house and he did both things. When we retuned the furniture was in it's proper place and there was no dust on the furniture. I was very much pleased. The floors were done beautifully with the same stain as the other part of my house. I would recommend Complete Flooring to anyone. The job that was quoted was what they charged. I would definiately use them again.

Overall it went very well. We live in an older house that had been previously remodeled to enclose a concrete slab porch into the living room. Some framing and a new subfloor had to be installed and new hardwood laced in to match the existing in the living room. A similar thing had to be done in the master bedroom area where there were bad boards that the previous owner had tried to fix with surface nailing. This is a process that is inherently dusty and stressful. They kept the other rooms fairly well protected. The finish and new color on the floor looks great. They came back and worked on a problem board in the bedroom three times and got it looking much better. We were nearby and could be pretty hands-on in looking at the job as it progressed and I think that helped in making the end product something that we can be happy with. The installation crew knew how to get it done and they did. They got here on time and delivered the finished product when promised. I think that they worked really hard to make us happy with our floors and their work has dramatically changed the appearance of our home for the better. I think that they gave us a very fair price for the work that was done.

I met Daniel initially at my rental property and he took measurements and said that Jon would call me with the estimate. I was terrified at what the cost would be due to condition of my floors. The floors looked as if they had some water damage in the past and a few boards in the closet needed to be replaced. He told me the price for the 5 rooms to be completed and it was not as bad as I had imagine. I made a time and date for them to come out. They were at the site on time. I was surprised that the project would take 4 days due to having to let the polyurethane dry and be recoated. They were very professional. I was impressed with my floors on the first day after they sand the floors and replaced the boards. Unfortunately, I was not able to go to the last 3 days to observe their work but every evening when I would come back the floors look beautiful. This is my first time renovating a house and I have worked with some people who have made promises and did not live up to them. This was also my first time using Angie's list. I have to say I was skeptical at first. I am totally satisfied with my experience with Complete Flooring and would recommend them highly. My floors look like showroom floors. They work independently and are very professional. I would definitely use them again.

I paid for $100 off of flooring for 2 rooms as a coupon purchase. I had a hot water to bust and I needed to replace flooring. I met Jon and we decided on which rooms I wanted to install hardwood flooring and which type of wood I needed for the room with the busted water heater. In the mist of our conversation I decided that I wanted 2 more rooms to be installed with harwood flooring. At that time Jon quoted me and price. ($5,850). He also quoted me a price for refinishing the other rooms in the house $2,220. I told him that we would be going on a trip for a fews days in April so that would be a perfect time to do the refinishing to the other rooms. I decided that the date that best suited me was Thursday Jan 15th. Jon contacted me a few days before to tell me he had an opening available to see if could let his crew come earlier. I stated that they could start the day before on the 14 at after 1:00 pm. They arrived at 2:00 and removed the carpet from all 3 rooms and laid down the base. I met Supervisor Ryan, and his crew Kevin, Clayton and Junior. On the second day they completely finished the living room and dining room with the pasting of the hardwood. Jon the Manager came up to bring the base board for the TV room to replace the damage done by the water. In the interium I was taken by surprise to see Jon on his hands and knees to polish the floor to remore the paste from the floor. When the crew broke for lunch Kevin asked me if he could bring me back lunch, and he did, of which I paid. I had provided him coffee. Kevin removed the platation blinds before the back door was removed. On the third day, it was finish up day. The TV room required a different procedure, staples, no paste. I had an appointment that day at 11:30 and had to leave at 11:00am. Around 10:00 am Kevin and Junior left Clayton and Ryan. Ryan told me that they should be finishing up by the time I have to leave. Before I left (11:15 am) I gave them direction on where the furniture should go. W When I returned I found that the floor looked as though it had not been sweeped and the broom was leaning by the door. The plantation blind had not been put back on the door and the garage had not been sweeped, the sawdust was remaining. I called Jon and reported this to him and he and Clayton came back. Clayton replaced the blinds and Jon sprayed Bona on the floors and mopped all the sawdust clean. I was very pleased that he made this room as pretty as the other 2 rooms. Jon remembered that I had purcashed the coupon so the final bill was $5,750. I will have to say these were the best and professional contractors I have ever worked with. P.S. Kevin even colked a sink in my bathroom.

Jon and his team were excellent to work with. They were professional and punctual for this 5 day job. Jon and his lead contractors did a great job communicating with us throughout the process as well. They were careful when moving our furniture and very polite and considerate of our time and home. Jon even made some cost-saving suggestions to help bring the total cost down. They did an excellent job matching our existing hardwood color and sheen; you wouldn't know that the new floor wasn't installed at the same time as the old hardwood. The job lasted one day longer than originally expected, but that was communicated as soon as they realized it, and the floors look amazing because they worked so hard! I'd definitely use Complete Flooring again.

Provider was responsive when contacted, explained in detail the options, went to extra lengths to find samples of flooring which is not currently on many shelves and managed to procure the hard to find selection in sufficient quantity to complete my floor. Provider's price was fair and allowed for a credit against a box of unopened materials at the end of the job. Installers were on the job when promised and completed the work within agreed timeframe. The floor is well installed, looks fabulous and I will certainly use this company again. From start to finish a truly positive experience.

The response to my Angie's list inquiry was prompt and scheduling the visit for the estimate was done in short order. We were able to schedule the work for a week that we were gone on vacation. The crew worked with my neighbor to access the house and showed up on-time and worked well with our representative. The project was completed at least one day before our return. The floors look like new! One thing I might do differently since I was not here while the work was being done is to have added some few details to the estimate.

We had Complete Flooring add new flooring, and sand / refinish our 55 year old original hardwood flooring. They did an excellent job. The old floor looked like the brand new flooring and matched perfectly. We are very happy with their service and would recommend this company with a 5 star rating.

Company was very accommodating in altering schedule for installation at my request. Carpet was promptly ordered (120 yds). Carefully and quickly moved furniture to allow for removal of existing carpet. I noted that the padding material brought was not what I had ordered; the installers quickly located and obtained the appropriate padding and picked it up for installation that same morning. Hard working, 2 man, crew; started at 10 am and completed at 8:30 pm with only one brief lunch break. Professional and quality workmanship by an experienced crew. Removed and hauled away all old carpeting and padding; left a few scrap pieces of carpeting for future patches at my request.
Description of Work: Provided free quote for carpet replacement; had several carpet samples available from which to select new carpeting. Removed, hauled away, and disposed of existing carpeting and padding. Screwed down loose/squeaky floor boards. Ordered, delivered, and installed new padding and carpeting. Moved household furniture as necessary to replace carpeting and padding; furniture was temporarily relocated from room to room. Installed thresholds at flooring transitions. Trimmed doors to allow for proper operation with new/thicker pile carpet and padding.

The quote process was easy. They sent out an estimator in 48 hours. Once work was scheduled with workers showiong up on time and as promised. The owner was on top of this project. Once complete, I had a couple of items I wanted addressed to my satisfaction. To Complete's credit, they sent people back out 3 or 4 times to make sure the project was completed to my satisfaction. Things are going to come up with a project this big. It's how your contractor responds that makes the difference. Complete did a fine job. Bottom line, floors look great at the price quoted!
Description of Work: Sanded and refinished the first floor. Replaced rotten sub-flooring in dinning room. Pulled up carpet in office and dove-tailed new oak flooring into existing wood flooring. Sanded out some stained spots. Replaced some boards at back door. Stained a dark Jacobean finish.

I contacted Jon Whitlock for a free estimate and he was quick to respond. About three days later he arrived at my home with a wide selection of samples. He explained the pros and cons of the different types of flooring and helped me make the best selection for my needs and budget. He gave me a run down of what to expect during the installation process, informing me I'd have to put some of my stuff in boxes and unplug my own electronics. We had scheduled the installation for July 12th, but he called and asked if we could move up the date to the 9th which ended up working out much better with my schedule so I was pretty happy about that. Two guys showed up promptly at 10:00 a.m. They were polite and friendly, respectful of my furniture, appliances and belongings as they moved them. No scuffed walls or dented wall corners at all! They worked their butts off until 8 p.m. that night and did a nice job cleaning up afterwards. Jon called as the guys were leaving just to make sure everything had gone as I'd expected. The end result is absolutely fantastic. Not only am I in love with the flooring that Jon suggested (Armstrong Wood-Look Vinyl) but this company made the process easy and had no problem whatsoever staying under my meager budget of $3,500. Do yourself a huge favor and have these guys do your flooring! They are true professionals who know exactly what they're doing!
Description of Work: Installed Armstrong Wood-Look Vinyl throughout my entire 1,065 sq. ft. home. This service also included a free estimate, installation of 1/4 round trim, repainting the baseboards of my kitchen cabinets, moving my furniture and even replacing and installing a broken piece of plumbing to prevent a small leak.

Let me start by saying I have never written a negative review on Angie's List. Generally if I'm not happy with someone's service, I just don't review them. I will do my best to make this as objective as possible. Services were not performed by Jon/Complete Flooring Services because he fired me. I have never in my life been fired by anyone, let alone a service provider. Frankly, I was in shock and truly believe we were just unable to communicate well with each other. My situation may have been unusually complicated by the fact that I was trying to arrange the work while I lived in another state. Here's the story as I recall it: I called Complete Flooring Services the end of March based on their excellent Angie's reviews. My husband and I were purchasing a home in the area and would be moving from out of state. We planned to be in the area the first full week of April, so I was lining up service providers for quotes during our visit. When I called the CFS number, I got a man (also John, maybe, but not the owner) who asked me to call back the next week. Jon Whitlock was on vacation and he was overwhelmed trying to handle everything. I thought this weird and wasn't sure why he couldn't give Jon the message to call me when he got back, but did it anyway. It wasn't a big deal. I called and got Jon the following week. I explained that we would be in the house for the inspection from 9-12 on a Tuesday. We agreed that one of his guys (Damen) would call me to set up a time to come out. (Jon lets his installers schedule their own appointments, so he didn't do it directly) Damen agreed to come give us a quote at 10:30 am. At 11:30 am he had not shown. We called Jon who called Damen, who had forgotten about us. He was 30 minutes away on another job and didn't have samples with him of the type of carpet we wanted. They don't have a showroom/storefront, so there was no way to meet him there. We agreed to have him come straight away and show us the samples he did have. He arrived 45 minutes later with two boards of samples. We showed him the tile, he measured the room, and talked about the carpets a little. He said he didn't know why Jon had sent him out to give an estimate, he normally doesn't do those (I don't recall whether it was tile removal or the whole job that he didn't usually quote). We weren't sure which type of carpet we wanted of the three he brought, so we took pictures of the color options and asked Damen to send us an estimate for two lines we were considering. We joked about the timing of his estimate being dependent on whether his wife let him have the computer that night. Two weeks passed and I had no word from Damen, Jon, or CFS. i started to call other carpet suppliers to get quotes. A handyman my family uses gave my dad the name and number of a flooring guy and I decided to call him. In the meantime I had spoked to 2 contractors, HVAC, electrical, a home inspector, an called numerous carpet places for our new house in addition to handling our regular home life for our old place. When the name I was given was Jon Whitlock, it sounded familiar, but I didn't place it. I called him and started explaining our needs. He interrupted me politely and refreshed my memory. He said he had wondered why he hand't heard back from me and said he'd just asked Damen if he'd heard from us. He said Damen had told him we were supposed to decide on a carpet and then he'd give us a quote. I chalked this up to a misunderstanding and we decided to move forward. I felt like all roads were leading to us using CFS for our job and so I was willing to ignore some weird things or misunderstandings. My husband and I were not familiar with the lines of carpet they had shown us during our April (and only live) meeting, so we asked some questions about the lines Jon offered and how they compared to what we were familiar with. He answered them competently as far as I could tell. Our big challenge was choosing a carpet and color from our area and Jon finding something equivalent to give us a quote. (By the way, we never did have a quote for the first carpets Damen showed us). Time was of the essence at this point. We needed the work down before we moved in so our son could use the room as a bedroom. Jon said if I found something I liked locally, he could match it and go from there. I went to a local carpet place, chose a Shaw carpet (because Jon carried that line line) and e-mailed him with the name and color. I know the same carpets get different names or certain lines are only sold certain places, but I chose a line and color that was on the Shaw website, then verified that I liked it in person. A day or two later Jon said he couldn't find that line or color anywhere and he thought the store had made it up. I let him know I had found it on the Shaw website and sent him the link. I guess that wasn't a place he'd thought to look for it? Two days later I wrote Jon asking him to please acknowledge my e-mail so I knew he had gotten it. He responded to say he had gotten the info but hadn't seen the samples yet. A week passed and no word from Jon. I called him to see what the status was and he told me he'd had to order the samples from California. I explained (as I had before) that we didn't care about that particular carpet, just that we were trying to show him a color that we new we liked. He had offered a 55 oz Shaw Nylon "special", so we were really just talking about color here, not specific carpet. All I really needed was a light to medium tan carpet with excellent wear and stain resistance, and I needed a quote for it. If he had told me he was ordering the samples from California, I would have told him not to bother. When he did get the samples, he saw that they were two-toned (which I could tell from the website), and he didn't have that option in the "special." I told him again that we just wanted something close to that, and asked again for an estimate. I had also asked him several times over the month I had talked with him if he could tell me a carpet and color that he had that I might could find locally thinking that might help the process along. Finally on May 9th (about a month after we first met Damen), Jon sent pictures of a few samples beside the sample he had ordered from California. These were in three pictures. One picture was a single carpet sample that said he thought it was the best bet. It looked darker than the other samples, but it was hard for me to tell for sure because it was a cell phone photo. On May 9th, he also finally sent us an estimate. The estimate had some terminology about which I was unsure. I will pause here to point out the obvious. I am a woman of details. I use a lot of words to relay those. Men, in my experience, often prefer fewer details. I had been frustrated in trying to get an estimate from Jon. I thought perhaps my wordy e-mails had provided too many details and that I might not have been clear enough about my needs/expectations. On May 10th, I thought I would try to be more succinct. I thought Jon would appreciate that. I sent a concise e-mail with three direct points: 1)Thanks for the quote, it was a little more than we were expecting 2)the swatch you said is the best match looks darker to me, maybe it's the lighting? 3) I feel like I keep asking for this, but can you please send me the name and color of a carpet you have so I can see it locally? We are running out of time and have limited chances to look at carpet as we prepare for our move. Four hours later I got this response: "I apologize that our company is unable to meet your expectations. I feel strongly at this point, it would be better for both parties, if you obtained a different flooring contractor who would better meet your needs. We are officially dismissing you as a client and wish you best of luck.Thank-you,Complete Flooring Service" (pasted directly from the e-mail). So that was that. Actually, I wrote Jon back and told him he had obviously been offended or felt disrespected by me somehow. I apologized and told him that would never have been my intention. My husband had been advocating that we find another carpet person the night before and I had defended Jon to him. I told him we would find another provider and that he could look forward to an honest review from me here on Angie's. He didn't respond. In the end we went with Hank's carpet. We had a quote, carpet samples from them and had the job arranged in about 3 phone calls over the course of a week. The install went smoothly. In retrospect it was a much better experience than we were having with Jon and Complete Flooring Services. I'm glad we switched even if I had to be fired to get to that point. If you are local and don't mind the way they work, then CFS might be for you. Certainly they've made other Angie's people happy.
Description of Work: Tried to have him remove terra cotta tile from one room and replace with carpet. He fired me before he could do the job.

Well, they were very easy to work with the entire way through. Even with extra patching the price remained very close to the quote. They were able to start the work early and it looks fantastic. I would highly recommend them for your floors. I plan to use them to replace some old vinyl as well. Wonderful guys, trustworthy, hard working and a great price. I have been updating my house for a couple months and they were the easiest contractor to work with yet.

They came out and gave us an estimate ($275) and then performed the work right then. It took them approx. 1 1/2 - 2 hours. They had to cut out several inches in some places the carpet was so wrinkled. They also pointed out one seam which ran all the way across a bedroom that was not holding well at all, they repaired that problem for and additional $50. They did a great job and it looks so much better!
Description of Work: Re-stretched carpet in two bedrooms and hallway ($275). This included re-seaming where needed and fixing an additional weak seam they found after the estimate ($50).

They did a good job then I noticed that part of the floor was bowed and skewed, thought it would settle since it was a new floor. After about 2 1/2 months it was still there so I called them to check it out. They showed up and fixed the problem, they said it was my fault that I let the floor get wet, they fixed the problem and left five mins later the owner called and demanded that I pay for the repairs, $175.00, it's always nice when the owner calls you and tells you that it not their fault and you must pay more. I will pay them but I would never use their service again, so much for their warranty. The floor was never wet so I guess I just got took.

We had existing hardwood in our foyer which ran into the carpet of our living room. The existing wood was a bit faded from the natural sunlight and Jon's team did a great job in matching the new in the living room to the existing. We had to go with the raw wood which involved sanding and varnishing the two rooms. The team was very professional, friendly and accommodating during the entire process. Unfortunately, our heat went out in the middle of the job, but the guys were great working in a not so warm environment. The guys were very careful in moving the furniture and thinking of ways to seal off the rooms with plastic to keep the dust to a minimum. We have a very open floor plan with high ceilings so it was a bit of a challenge, but it worked out well. I would use this provider again and recommend to friends. By the way, the dust was nothing like I thought it would be...very minimal.
