The technician arrived promptly as scheduled, inspected my HVAC system, and explained Canady's preventative maintenance program. He was very professional and courteous in demeanor. He recommended replacement of a capacitor and performed the work during the same visit. I was very pleased with the service, and would recommend Canady's for HVAC service.
Description of Work: I was looking for a company to do preventative maintenance service on my heating and air conditioning unit. Based on other customer recommendations, I contacted Canady's and made an appointment. Preventative maintenance and inspection of my systems, and replacement of the capacitor needed to start the a/c compressor.

The appointment for a quote was set for a convenient time and I found Kevin to be professional, knowledgable and helpful. He arrived a few minutes early for the appointment. They were able to set up the installation within the same week we decided on the system. The installation was not without unexpected problems and complications but the technicians arrived early and completed the job by the end of the day. When they left everything was cleaned and neat. Someone from the office called to check on our satisfaction with the installation at the end of the day. An additional appointment was scheduled for the next weekend to discuss the system, warranty and rebate issues. We will pay for the system then. Two minor complications still exist, although we have no doubt they will be correct within the next week: 1) Due to the tight fit of the air handler in the existing closet, they could not install the AC filter. A modification of the wall, closet, etc will have to be completed. 2) the system has such a strong air pull thru the louvered door that it causes a loud whistling sound. Hopefully, when the problem above is rectified, this issue will also be solved. Note: our new 3 ton heat pump is HUGE (probably a little over 4 ft tall)! But, as large as it is, it is amazingly quiet. Plus, the reworked ducts are working perfectly and we have cool air in the kitchen and pantry for the first time in 12 years! Great job so far and except the finished product to be well worth the money.

We called for an estimate. Canady's promptly sent Kevin out to the house to do a complete assessment of our needs. This seems minor or what one might think is a given, but another company did not even bother to send a person, electing instead to do a sight unseen estimate. Kevin came out on time and checked everything out. He checked all the units, vents and inspected the attic thoroughly. He took pictures to show us what needed to be done and for his company to use as reference. He gave us 3 options for systems and explained the pros and cons of each one. Kevin also took the time to just talk about sports, recreation, family, whatever came up. It was like we knew each other beforehand. We decided to go ahead with the project about a month later. The contract was honored and the installation was scheduled promptly. The office and the salesman both contacted us to make sure everything was a go. On the day of the installation, the guys arrived right on time. They were dressed in uniform and were very nice and professional. They went right to work. All of the old equipment and ductwork was torn out and hauled away. They even took away the broken down fence surrounding the old AC unit. The installation went very smooth and they hardly even took a break. The next thing I know, they were walking me through the new equipment and explaining how it all worked. I came out to the garage and I think it was even cleaner than it was when they arrived. The office called during the install to make sure everything was going well. Then a couple of days later, Kevin, the salesman, came over to check everything out and collect payment. No pressure, just easy going. He explained all the warranties and had even set up the registration for us. If you want a new system or repair, I highly recommend Canady's. They are a great group of people and offer a superior product. (Which by the way- is a TRANE system)

I purchased a four bedroom home less than a year ago. One of the bedrooms and bath is over the garage. That room continued to get blistering hot in the summer and pretty cold in the winter months so far, although the cool isn't a problem for the one sleeping up there. In keeping with the problem, half of the house would remain at different temperatures than the other half and the bonus room remained worse. With my summer cooling bill topping off at over 450.00, I had to do something before summer hit again. I don't know anything about A/C so I started asking around. My roommate got Canady's from a coworker so I decided to do some research. Being an avid user of Angie's List, this was the first place I went. Canady's reviews were right on point , along with the referral, so I went with them. I called, told them my problem and scheduled a consultation visit. They told me that Andy would be my consultant but instead I got Danny. He showed up on time which was great for my schedule. He took the time to discuss with me my concerns regarding the A/C and what I have done to try and figure out the problem myself. He then went to work. He inspected every area of the A/C outside, inside and in the attic. Once complete, he sat down with me and discussed his findings along with what it would cost to fix it. He determined that the duct work and vents weren't installed correctly to the bonus room and that the placement of the only thermostat in the house was not conducive to proper temperature control in the upper and back rooms. His thoroughness was impressive along with his detailed course of action. Now, on to the price. Inside the reveal of the estimate, he told me the duct work had to be adjusted in the bonus room. An end cap needed to be installed as well as another duct arm in order to evenly distribute air throughout the bonus room and its closet and bath. He also stated that the house needed to be zoned in order to evenly heat and cool the rest of the home without breaking the bank. He explained how zoning works and that the unit had already be set up to receive this. I would just have to install the zone board, dampers and thermostats. All of this would cost about 2800.00. Yeah...I'm poor (okay maybe just cheap LOL) so what has to be done right now and what can wait for a little bit? He was so great at discussing the options for the repair and updating of the A/C I can't give him enough credit. After learning my budget, he said he would recommend I fix the ducts in the bonus room and then work on the zoning and thermostats. I agreed and set up a day and time for him to return which amazingly was the next day! Day of work: Danny showed up on time and got straight to work. Once he was up in the attic working, he discovered an unexpected change in the duct size and had to call for someone to bring what he needed. I loved that. I felt confident that he was there until the job was done instead of leaving to get what he needed and then come back after several hours of delay. This allowed him to continue working on other aspects of the job while awaiting delivery of needed parts. He finished within the time frame he told me with actually minimal delay due to the needed part. He also discussed with me a maintenance program Canady's offers for HVAC services. I liked that he wasn't pushy in selling the service. He explained that it was available, what it offered, its benefits and allowed me to think about it and decide. Yes, I took it. It was a great deal for what it offered and we all know that A/C service especially here can get expensive! Since the completion of the job, there is noticeably better airflow to the room and I couldn't be happier. I will be scheduling the zoning of the home shortly and I will call Canady's to do the work.
Description of Work: End capped duct work to correct faulty installation by builder, serviced A/C, placed safety nets inside system to ensure backups and flooding of unit doesn't take place.

After receiving some ridiculously expensive estimates, Canady's gave me a fair price and provided excellent service. I had my estimate within a week of calling to set up my estimate. I decided to go forward with it and had it done the next day. When there seemed to be an issue with the install and product I purchased, they returned the next day to diagnose and fix the problem (which was unrelated to either their installation or HVAC).

Description of Work: Installation of complete, new Heat and A/C system. Our system was over 19 years old, I called and a representative came in a timely manner. He explained very thoroughly our needs and options without being pushy. I liked that. I hate to be "strong-armed" into anything. All of the personnel that I had contact with are very friendly, yet professional. They are definitely on my "to call list"!

I have been, or previously was, a repeat customer from Canady's. I like their warranty they place on their work, but I have however ahd to use it more than 2x now. If you are going to get a technician, then ensure you get Tim Hintch- he is top notch, and his work does not need to be corrected like some of their other technicians. I was going to have them put in a return and 2x ducts in our garage, but their salesman/sales team lost me due to a lousy and non-existent follow-up. Yes, their work is good... when they do it and do it right. Pricey, but you get what you pair for and A/C is serious talk down here in coastal GA!In a pinch, they will service your unit after hours at an emergency price, but they do push people out there, so good on them.

Our main system was not cooling effectively. It seemed to cool for a while and then just blew unconditioned air -- never getting below 86 degrees. First technician, using a gas detection device at the inside unit, determined that there was a freon leak and suggested I needed a new coil (est. $1670.00), but recommended that with the age of the system (9 yrs) I should replace the system. I declined and asked him to add freon. He did. ($89.00) [Side note: He forgot to replace the caps on the freon lines.] That didn't resolve the problem, so I called back and they sent a more experienced technician. Second technician found that the compressor fan motor (which was replaced just over a year ago by another company) was hot. He cooled it down with water, checked the capacitor and found some irregularity. He replaced the capacitor. ($141.00) That didn't resolve the problem, so I called back and they sent another experienced technician. Third technician verified that the fan motor was overheating and determined that the company that replaced it had installed the wrong size. As the fan motor would overheat, it would shut down -- allowing the compressor to soon overheat and shut down. He replaced the fan motor with the correct size. ($426.00) That resolved the problem!! Pros: All techicians were prompt and cordial. I have had other companies service my systems, but I can't say the same about them. I recommend that if you need service beyond basic routine maintenance, ask for one of the more experienced technicians. They have at least a couple of very knowledgable technicians (Andy and Tim) who were able to diagnose and resolve our problem -- and answered all my questions. The people answering the phones were also helpful, informative and pleasant. Cons: It took three visits to resolve the problem. Cost was high. I think that if one of the more experieced technicians had been the first one here, I would have saved time and money.
Description of Work: Diagnosed the problem and replaced the compressor fan motor.

The Trane unit is great, the work was top notch and professionally thorough. They won't be the cheapest AND you get what you pay for and in my case I am glad I went with the company. I had three other companies come out and bid the work and, as I said cheaper is rarely better and superior. One contractor didn't even call me back because (I guess), it was NOT an easy job with quick profit. Canady worked for and earned my business. Several hours on day one to inspect and bid the job. Several more conversations and another visit to modify the first proposal. One day of taking out and installing new hardware. Another day was 11hours of work taking out old duct work and installing complete sealed new duct work system. They were here at 0815, worked with only a couple of breaks and left at 7pm at night...and I had COLD air and the whole house in now balanced. Each room is cool with NO hot spots. It is amazing the difference. Even tired they cleaned up the mess, which I told them to leave, they worked HARD all day.
Description of Work: My two story house was an AC/Heating duct work disaster. There is only one unit in a two story cedar side house that faces the southwest setting sun. I have been in the house 11 years and NEVER in the summer was the upstairs below 83 while AC running non stop. My AC coil went out and the system died. Unknown to me rats had ate through the duct work in the "knee wall" and in some places in the attic. The original duct work was not done right when the house was built. All of the duct work and AC and gas heater/blower had to be replaced. A hole was found in the "feed" line. Canady's worked with me to find the right balance of features and cost. Lance was not only a salesman but designed the replacement duct work and did the work himself (with help of course).

The silver strand installation was free but my air conditioner installation was $12000. They gave me $3500 military rebate. With the no-trade discount and the upgrade of the system, it all came up to $3500 that they had dropped from the price for me. Mr. Lance was the service representative who came out and sold the air conditioning unit to me. He was very professional. He sat down with me and explained everything out to me. I was not willing to go with the higher end air conditioner at first like a twenty seer air conditioner that I have now but wanted a sixteen seer. He explained to me and talked to me as to how cost effective it would be. I thought as to how it would be an investment on my house. I ended up going with it. He gave me an installation date and the guys were here on time. I was very impressed. If I was a regular person who did not know much about the air conditioners or the price then, I would not have graded their price high. However, knowing the quality of the equipment that they have installed which is ________ system with a high efficiency air handler and the high tech thermostat that they offered, I know that it is very good. The thermostat is wireless and can be connected with the video system to your house. That is why I have to grade their price high. I would definitely use them again in the future.

We took prices from 3 different contractors when we had the install done, and we were most comfortable with the price they offered. They are responsive and professional every time we have worked with them. They work with my tenants schedules when they need to come. They recommended a product that better suited the house, which is a more efficient unit and has provided an energy cost savings to us.
