They are really good. They are very quick. The time that they take depends on the complexity of what they are doing. A typical maintenance service takes them half an hour to forty five minutes, but they are thorough. As they are going through the service, they will tell us when we have got things that we need to consider working on. I don’t have any issues at all with their service per se. They are trustworthy. Their owner, Fred Canady gets personally involved with issues/concerns or if we have got problems that we haven't got resolved. The owner actually will engage. They are conscientious. They are not the cheapest in town, but they are definitely well worth the price that I pay them. It's not like they come in, service us and they leave and we never hear from them again. In one case a number of years ago, they had done an installation for me in an upstairs unit. The shut off valves that keeps the water from leaking out had stopped working. I had a small leak and it went through my ceiling. They came in, repaired it and took care of everything for me without any issues. They didn’t wait a long time to do it. They did it at no charge. It had been a couple of years since I had the install. They care about their customers and the long-term relationship. The price is $125 per system per service visit. I would definitely use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I have been using them for years. I use them about four times a year. They have done some major work for me in the past. Right now, they really do a lot of maintenance type work. The last time they came out, they just did maintenance on the heating and air conditioning units. The last major install I had with them was probably in 2012 when I had a system installed. They have done a lot of work for me over the last ten years or so. I have got two homes that they service. They are both central air and gas heat. One of them is a standalone air conditioning unit that is not tied to the heating. The other one has a dual heating and air conditioning component to it and its gas heat.

They were OK. They said that I had to pay all this money to have them come out. I didn't like that. I pay for a package and they come out. They were all right. I just didn't like their package. Their price was high and then I had to pay again after I purchased the package. I guess they were OK on professionalism. I've moved on from them.

The customer service is good and costly priced for the labor. They are a big company in the area so they are quite high priced. But other than that, the customer service is good. They are the only ones who are trained her in town. The labor was free because of the warranty but the labor/work was ridiculous. They quoted me for a five hour job which irritated me. There were two guys who showed up and the other guy came an hour and a half late. It took them forty five minutes more to take the old one out and install the new one. However, they were nice and they came and did the job. They have a decent customer service and I was satisfied with the initial interaction where I had them come out and installed the unit. But the second visit was not okay because they charged me very much.
Description of Work: Canady’s Air Conditioning & Heating did some work for me. I had my three year old unit checked. It had a leak and a defect. So they installed a new one.

I am stuck with them because of the warranty. They are not good. They ripped me off. The workers are good workers. They came out and service the air conditioning unit. They did not honor their warranty. The product that they sold me was far inferior and far overpriced. The only reason I went with them was because their service people were so good. The guy who owns it is a rip-off. I pay for the warranty checkup every year. I was out there without air conditioning for three weeks initially after the installed the unit. Their people were out there almost every month. They replaced the parts all the time including the upstairs coil. They had more than three visits for the same problem. I didn’t even ask for replacing the entire upstairs unit. I asked for an extension on the warranty. They told me to get it myself. That guy is shady. The work that they have done has been fine. There are a lot of people who work for them who are good. But the business is bad.
Description of Work: Canady's Air Conditioning & Heating did the warranty checkup the last time.

I think the work they did was fine. I was not home when they did the work, my husband was. We had them do work for us before and we have never had any complaints. Everything seems to be working good. What stands out is their customer service. They are willing to work around our schedules and they are always cheerful and kind on the phone. They went beyond when we were out of state and renting long distance.

Kevin from sales presented us with a variety of options with an affordable 5 year no interest promotion. We opted for some whistles and bells like a whole-house air filtering system and wi-fi thermostat, along with a TRANE heat pump system. We could have repaired the old unit, but the likelihood that it would survive much longer was low, so we decided to get a new system. This one has aluminum coils, which won't rust, which in Savannah is a real plus! Kevin from sales was able to show us how the unit could save us energy over time, and even had energy saving rebates filed on our behalf with the power company. I just got a check yesterday from GA Power. Kevin and Ray from the install team did a fantastic job, keeping everything neat and clean. They explained everything and showed us the work that had been done. It was thorough, and they vacuumed/ cleaned up after they completed the install. Kevin from sales followed up with a visit to ensure that the work was done to our satisfaction, and even brought us Byrd's cookies! Their reputation and TRANE's reputation made me feel like even though I might have been paying a little more, it would save me time, energy, and money in the long run. And you can't put a price on peace of mind, which these guys did a great job at reassuring through their hard work and detailed explanations. The service was convenient and thorough. Now I can even change my thermostat from my smartphone! The energy savings have already decreased our power bill. We signed up for their maintenance plan because we were very pleased with the professional service and knowledge of the Canady's folks. They have been doing this for a long time, and deserve their excellent reputation!

Canady's was very quick to dispatch someone to perform the preventive maintenance on my home air-conditioning unit after I had contracted this service with once of Canady's technicians who had responded to my house to address an a/c drainage issue I was having. On August 1, 2014 their PM service guy, Travis, arrived on time and ready to work. Since I had never had a preventive maintenance performed, I really did not know what to expect. Because this service occurred on a Friday afternoon, I was somewhat suspicious that the technician would perform a "quickie" service, just to be able to knock off early. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Travis was very professional and took a lot of time examining the attic part of the a/c unit, despite the blistering high temperature that day. He very meticulously cleaned the whole-house air filtration part of the attic unit and gave me some very helpful instruction on performing my own routine PM. The only disappointing issue of this service occurred when Travis went outside to perform maintenance on the "outside" part of the a/c system. While we were outside it started rumbling thunder, with some distant lightning. Travis grew somewhat concerned and asked if he could perform the outside part of the maintenance on another day. Travis promised to come out the next week to complete the job. I agreed and he left me with some papers about his visit. Nothing was written down, it was a gentleman's agreement that he would return. The only thing that was concerning for me was that Travis had me sign his iPad. I am sure that by my signature indicated that the service had been completed (which it was not). Travis left my house with several bottles of Gatorade that I gave him, and promised to come back to finish the outside portion of the PM job. As of this writing (September 1, 2014? one month since the tech was at my house) the outside portion of the Preventive Maintenance Agreement that I paid for, has not been completed. If Canady's had completed the service that I paid for, then I would certainly give them an "A" rating; however, until this service is completed per contract, then I am resigned to only give them an overall rating of "C. UPDATE: On September 1, 2014, I sent an email to Canady's, explaining my situation, and asking that they send someone out to finish my preventive maintenance service. The next morning, September 2nd, I was contacted by Mary Flake, Canady's very competent service manager, who promptly scheduled Travis, the service guy, to return on Thursday morning, September 4th, after 9:00 am. Travis called me at approximately 8:45 am on the morning of the 4th and stated that he was on his way out to my house. I was across town at the time, running some errands, and told Travis that he would probably arrive at my house before me. "No problem," said Travis; he informed me that since all of his work would be on the outside of the house he would proceed to go to work without me. Travis continued to state that it would take approximately an hour and a half to finish the job. At approximately 10:15 am I pulled into my driveway expecting to see the Canady's service van parked in front of my house. The only vehicle there was a truck driven by Zack, the bug man, who sprays my house once monthly. I asked Zack if he had seen the tech from Canady's Heating and Air. Zack stated that he had been there a few minutes and had not seen anyone. I checked the area around the outside air-conditioning unit to see if a card had been left. I found nothing. At this point I could only assume that Travis had arrived, completed the job, and left. In summary ? Would I use Canady's again? Yes, but I am disappointed that I had to call Canady's to get the tech back out to complete the job for which I had already paid. I am disappointed that Travis did not take the initiative on his own (as promised) to come back out and complete the job. I am disappointed that Travis did not leave some indication that he had been out to complete the service, relieving me of any question that the service had been appropriately completed. For these reasons, I will not give Canady's an "A" rating, but will elevate my previous overall rating of "C" to an overall rating of "B."

They give good a/c service. They offer this unique feature where they do an inspection early on in the season. We live in Savannah. There is a high likelihood that our heating and a/c system gets strained out here pretty bad. If we do an inspection early on in the season with them, and if anything breaks later in the season; they will fix the repair at 20% off the cost. We did that once. It actually happened to break during the year. The bill was going to be substantial, but the 20% actually saved us quite a bit. That was a really good feature for them. They are also punctual, and they do some pretty good work. It was fine. They informed me that I may have a problem with one small component later in the season, but nothing really happened. They are good so far. With regard to price, I think that all a/c things are expensive.
Description of Work: I used Canady's for heating and a/c. Canady's Heating and Air is the one that I use regularly and I'm sticking with now. The last time I used them, they did a general inspection.

We had 3 A/C companies come out to do quotes on installing a Mini Split Heat Pump to serve our bonus room addition. The quotes all included the cost of the unit, installation, the pad for the outside condenser, electrical wiring from the panel, and a circuit breaker installed for it into the panel. Canady's quote of approx $6000 was more than twice as much as the other 2 quotes we had done (note that we did not receive a written quote (only verbal) from Canady's, so perhaps the quote was for a top of the line unit). The other 2 quotes were written and were for mid-range priced units. Pros: Canady's responded quickly to our request for a quote, arrived right on time, and were professional while at our home. Cons: Price

We were impresed. Our AC died after 20 years service. From the time Kyle came out for the estimate to our house finally being cool again, Canady's was nothing but professional. Thinking back on the experience, what they did was what you would expect from any company. But, in the three weeks between our AC no longer cooling and the time Canady's got involved, we had gone through 2 other companies. Our experience with them lowered the expectations bar considerably. They were more expensive than these other companies. This was certainly a case, though, of getting what you pay for...and then some.

Had a Carrier heat pump system that was 11 years old. Canady's came to do routine maintenance and coil in the blower unit was leaking. This is the second coil on the system, with the first being replaced 6 years ago. Par for the course. So I could either pay the $1500 ish to get a new coil or get an estimate for a new system. I arranged to have one of their Comfort Specialists come in a couple days. Kyle Cannady (owner's son) showed up and did an inspection of the current system, ducting layout and asked some questions about use and any areas in the home that are too hot or too cold. After that he gave me an estimate for 3 different level of systems. A "good" system, a "great" system and then the top of the line caddilac system. We opted for the good system and set-up an install date (1 week later). Installers showed up and immediately put down floor coverings to keep the dirt to a minimum. All in all it took about 5 hours for them to remove the old system and install the new system (and upgrade 3 of the ducts to a bigger size). Right towards the end of the install, one of the installers accidentally slipped while he was upstairs fell onto the ceiling, putting a large crack in it (about 3' long). They were extremely apologetic and since one of their QC guys was there at the time he immediately started making phone calls and ended up calling me back the next day for the repair info. The two installers (Kevin C. & Clay E.) cleaned everything up and off they went. Kyle was supposed to come by that afternoon to give me the warranty paperwork, let me pay and also check the system one last time. Because of the ceiling damage he called and said he would hold off on the final appointment and my paying for the system until EVERYTHING was completed! They sat on a $6500 receipt payable for a little over a week because of they value their customers and they want to do the job right! At about 6pm that same night as the install the system wouldn't turn on for more than a few seconds before shutting off and the temp in the house was rising. I called Kyle and he called the two installers and they came out with 45 minutes. Turns out the drain line still had a bunch of gunk in it and the float switch was not letting the system run. They had used two tanks of nitrogen to blow out the line after taking out the old system, but there was still some gunk in it. They were gone by 7:30pm and system has been running great. A few days later the contractor showed up to fix the ceiling. Obviously they were not Cannady employees (showed up 30 minutes late) but they got the repair job done in about 2 hours. They also did not use plastic all the way to the floor when they sprayed the ceiling, so we had quite a bit of dust everywhere. This is not the fault of Cannady's, but the dry wall contractor. Overall, a great experience and I'm glad I went with Cannady's for this new system (10 year warranty)
