I don't typically write reviews but I feel I must after receiving service from Southeast Van Lines. We moved a large house having three levels (five bedroom house plus full basement) into a new home. Ben came out and provided a quote and was very professional however the quote was a little higher than we have seen. I ended up going with Southeast due to their estimate being fixed and will not exceed the quoted amount. Most companies will charge hourly and I didn't want any surprises at the end. They fit me in their schedule and I could not have been happier with the brew he sent out. Eli was the crew leader and he kept everything moving quickly. They sent out two trucks and six men. Each of these men were running the entire time and didn't stop. I literally mean they ran to and from the truck putting everything where it needed to go and reassembling all of our furnishings. This crew started at 9:30am and finished up at 7:30 pm and only took a 1 hour lunch break. They went the extra mile to ensure I was completely happy. Eli and the entire crew was very professional and had an awesome attitude. Thank you Eli and your entire crew for such a good job. You took a very stressful day and made it a lot easier on us. For those that are reading this review and wondering if you should select Southeast, don't even hesitate. You will not regret your decision. I sure hope I never move again but if I do, I will definitely be hiring them again...

Eli (Team Leader) was very focused and professional. Handled things well when situation required more work than originally planned and made a fair deal for me. All of the people at this business were very professional and helpful. I would use their services again!

I have moved interstate many times and this move was certainly the most stress free move I have ever experienced. I couldn?t have asked for a better moving company than Southeast Van Lines to handle my move from Atlanta to Florida. They demonstrated expertise & professionalism from the 1st time Benjamin came to my house to evaluate my shipment to the last box the team brought into my home in Florida. Throughout the process Benjamin was available to answer questions & provide guidance. His team arrived on schedule at my home & very efficiently packed my household items with care. They were courteous and explained how they would be packing items & protecting my furniture. I obtained quotes from several moving companies and Southeast Van Lines? rates were very competitive. Other companies quoted prices that were close to Southeast, but they had several ?add on? charges that would increase the final bill. Southeast Van Lines quoted a firm price & delivered on all of my expectations. I highly recommend Southeast Van lines.

Mr Benjamin came to our home twice to estimate cost of our move from Atlanta Metro, GA to Tampa, FL Metro area. He was negotiable in our dealings. We packed all the goods in our home by ourself in advance, but of course, they will pack for you, if you choose. Five full-time workers ( and 3 workers for 1-2 hours), came to our home and disassembled beds and all furniture, wrapping them with blankets and tape. They also wrapped glass table tops and glass shelves, tvs and other items that were prearranged with them and included in our cost of moving. Then they loaded everything from a 2800 sq. ft home into the moving vans in about 5 hours The next day three workers drove the two trucks for 8 hours to our destination. The following day the three men unloaded all our boxes, reassembled all our furniture and placed every single box in the room that we wanted it in. Even if they got it in the wrong room, they were eager on their own, to immediately move it to the room we requested. They worked non-stop for 10 hours unloading our bodes and furniture. We had to beg them to stop to eat some pizza,j which we provided for them. The workers were very friendly, very professional and made our move very, very pleasant, without incident and actually FUN. We all laughed a lot. The three workers did such a grand job for us that we gave them a tip, enough to buy a delicious BBQ dinner. I would most highly recommend Southeast Van Lines, LLC in Norcross, GA. You will not be disappointed.

It went awesome!!! Due to my job I move at least once a year and I have used them for the 6th time now. They are professional, fast, careful with my things, awesome packers, polite and always stick to their estimated price no matter how long it actually takes them to load and un load. If you are moving, I would only trust them! I promise you that you will only use them going forward. I have notice that in life people only take the time to post things that have gone wrong but I wanted to make sure that I took the time to say how awesome this company has been to me for the last several years! I am an apartment property manager and I refer all my residents to this wonderful company and everyone always says thank you.

I regret ever doing business with Southeast Van Lines. I received my belongings a month late, and damaged from a fire. They have been of absolutely no help through the process, and do not provide an acceptable level of insurance for your belongings nor inform you of your other options. They contracted my move out to an inexperienced, and unprofessional older gentleman to move my things from GA to CA, with him consistently lying to me about when they would arrive and the shape they were in. When he finally got here, he recruited another middle-aged man who lived in my neighborhood (!) to help unload as he had no legitimate crew of his own to help. Now Southeast Van Lines is denying any responsibility, and forcing me to go through this other man's insurance despite the fact that THEY were the one's who hired him! DO NOT USE SOUTHEAST VAN LINES FOR YOUR MOVE! This process has been an ongoing nightmare and I regret ever doing business with them. It's been 7 MONTHS and I am still trying to reach a settlement with this guy's insurance.

It was awesome. They were wonderful. They were great. They handled everything with the move from Boston to Atlanta. They were here when they promised to be. They were courteous and the price was great. The price was very reasonable. They contracted with one of their partners and they went in and packed the stuff at my father’s and they put in on the truck and they came down here and unloaded it. I did not want it unpacked so that worked well. They were professional but still very friendly.

Full pack up and shipping of a 1 bedroom apt from Atlanta to the east San Francisco Bay Area. Ben was our move consultant in Atlanta and was a delight to work with. The moving crews on both ends were very nice and professional. Very great service for the price which was better than most of the competition.

They were good. They had quite a job. I had lived at my house for 30 years - so I had a lot of stuff.

This move started out fairly smoothly but ended up very badly. I contracted with this company primarily due to the fact that they were available for the date I wanted to move. My move was at the end of June which I found out is a very busy time for movers. As a result, my top choices based upon the ratings I got from Angie's List were not available, so I chose what I thought would be the next best mover. The initial move was to cost me $7000.00 which I suspect was above the going rate for a move of the size and distance I required. When the movers arrived, I had planned on moving a number of the items myself but they offered to pack and move the items I had remaining for an additional $2000.00 plus I had to buy the boxes and packing materials that would be required. Although going to get the boxes and packing materials was an inconvenience, I agreed to it. The packing, loading and move of my belongings appeared to go pretty well. The quality of the packing and handling of my belongings I discovered was extremely bad. When I started unpacking the items that they had packed, I found the worst imaginable. They had packed fragile items such as china, computers, musical instruments, vinyl records, cd's, lamps and framed pictures without any packing materials or protection whatsoever. In one box I discovered a desktop computer, a printer, several framed pictures and a lamp all literally jammed into the box with no packing materials whatsoever. Three of the pictures had the glass broken out of the frames and part of the printer was cracked. The lamp had the socket broken off and the bulb broken. I have many boxes packed the same way with a least one broken item in each one. There are too many to list here. And that is just for the boxes that I have unpacked which is about half of the boxes that they packed. I fear what I am going to find by the time I have unpacked everything. All of the boxes were clearly marked as to where they should go in the house that I was moving into. I have had to do a lot of lifting and carrying of boxes that were left in the wrong rooms or left upstairs when they should have been put in the basement or vice versa. I have moved several times over my lifetime and a few misplaced boxes is somewhat understandable but Southeast Van Lines is by far the worst I have ever used. To their credit, they were timely. They were where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there. Unfortunately, that is the only good thing that I can say about them. What I discovered after they left should not be the experience anyone else should endure. I have not filed any type of claim against them because the time and effort to list all of the things damaged would in itself be more than I can manage. I will chalk this experience up to knowing better next time and staying with a reputable company that has received favorable ratings from something such as Angie's List.

I would have rated the company better; however the move "in" did not go very good. My personal feeling is that the movers were more interested in getting back on the road to Georgia than correctly unpacking and installing. The individual who put our king bed together did such a lousy job that when we went to bed in the evening (very tired from moving) the bed supporting the mattress broke. Ended up taking the bed apart and repairing myself which I found out the individual used inappropriate small head screws that were installed at a angle!! They did not put the tread mill together properly and now I am trying to find missing parts. All excess stuff was thrown into the garage that I later had to restack neatly so as to be able to reach stored items. Also two picture received damage (glass broken) The company overall was very efficient in the move they loaded on the 25 Jun 2013 and did an excellent job. They delivered on the 26 Jun 2013 and for the most part completed service; however, I was frustrated while unpacking some items and the lousy way the bed and tread mill were put together!!!

Southeast Van Lines, out of Norcross, Georgia, USDOT number #1988942, did a good job of doing a quick move of household goods from Northeast Georgia to our home in Northern VIrginia. We'd use them again. In our case we had a sudden need to move an elderly parent from her home in Northeast Georgia to somewhere near us in Northern Virginia. We'd heard the horror stories about "rogue" movers and did our best to learn the Federal regulations on household goods movers (see https://www.protectyourmove.gov/). We then looked for a moving company web site that showed they knew the regulations too and appeared to want to comply with them. Southeast Van Lines fit the bill. Their paperwork correctly refers potential consumers to the Federally-mandated consumer web site on moving (the US DOT's "Protect Your Move" web site again) and was easy to read. They personally showed up at our Northeast Georgia home at the appointed time, did an on-site inspection of the things to be moved, and gave us a binding estimate of the cost for the move. They then showed up at the appointed time to pick up our goods, did a good job of packing them, and kept in touch with us to see where we wanted our household goods delivered and when. They then delivered our goods - to two different addresses in the Northern Virginia area - on the appointed date and once again did a good job of unpacking them and placing them into position. We're still unpacking, but nothing appears to have been damaged during the move. Again, all of this was done on short notice, which was very nice. In conclusion, we really recommend people go to the above USDOT web site for shippers and learn how it's supposed to work. Then shop for the mover that reflects they know those same rules and that they abide by them. And once you pick a company, treat the moving staff well. Moving companies like Southeast Van Lines will respect that.

Southeast Van Lines, Inc. did everything excellent. There was nothing they could improve on. I live on an island and they had to arrange for two 28 foot trucks to be placed on a barge and across the sound to the island. Because of tides, they had four hours to unload everything into a house that's 4,400 square foot. And they did it. It was one of the reason why it costs so much. The barge alone costs $2,700.00. They did it. They set up the beds and did everything perfectly. They did it cleanly and nicely. I've moved so many times and this was the most professional move I've ever had and it was under very extreme circumstances. Their prices are reasonable. We had some people give us a bid on lower prices, but they would not guarantee they could unload everything and get off the island in four hours. If they didn't, they would have their workers spend the night here and the price would have gone up another $3,000.00 or $4,000.00 to pay for their people there and for the trucks sitting there. There was no motivation, actually, for them to get done in one day. Southeast guaranteed they would be done. If they weren't, they were going to pick up the tab. Their services were all inclusive and their prices were appropriate.

Better than we expected!!

I called Southeast Van Lines for my move from ATL to CA, spoke to Sharon and asked for a quote. Based on my move items she gave me a initial quote. From the beginning she stressed one thing, in order for the quote to be accurate moving items has to be accurate. I called and updated her with my final cubic feet and she updated her quote as well, based on the items I provided I felt the new quote was reasonable. One thing I noticed though is if you use the packing services they are expensive, it is better if you pack everything by yourself. Especially packing any large glass tops is very expensive and I think this is the case with any mover not necessarily just Southeast. Since I didn't had my destination address yet, I used their free storage service. They said I can use the service for free for 30 days and mentioned the prices after 30 days. Fortunately I only had to use their storage for two weeks and they didn't charge me any fee for that. El from southeast contacted me couple of times saying that they have trucks going to CA and can deliver if I want, I was not ready first time when he called but gave me the final address the second time he called. Surprisingly the stuff came within 6 days after I gave them the address. All moving people were very friendly and loaded and unloaded all the items very professionally. Only negative thing I can say about my whole moving experience is that my dining table had a very small dent on one of the corners, I think I am being very unreasonable here but its my new dining table.... Anyway you can expect things like this when you are moving so I didn't really report this to them.
