I called in mid-March and asked 404-Cut-Tree to look at a tall dead pine in my back yard within about 20 feet of my house. The representative showed up on time and was very informative about the state of the trees on my property and potential issues with the placement of the dead Pine. He additionally identified the dead branches hanging over the house and recommended removal to prevent roof and gutter damage. The quote came back very reasonable, and I selected this group based on their professionalism and reviews from Angie's List. There were two hiccups in the process. First, they actually lost the paperwork for my quote when I tried to call them and schedule a time to do the work the next day. I had to email my scanned version of the quote to get underway. They contacted me about two days later and setup a date of 4/28 to complete the work. Second, on 4/28, the crew did not show at 8 AM as planned. I called at noon that day and was told that they had confused the work order and would be out that afternoon. The two man crew DID show as promised that afternoon and completed all work within a few hours. This was not an easy removal since the dead pine was close to a neighbors fence and only about 20 feet from my house. The crew used ropes to drop the tree between two hedges. No noticeable damage was done to the hedges or any limbs in my neighbors yard, and I was impressed with the skill in landing the tree so precisely. They were very skilled and clean cut, and completely cleaned the yard of all debris. Actually, the yard looked better after they finished than when they started! I was very happy to finally get the dead tree out of the yard and away from the house. Overall, I was pleased with the service. I wish I didn't have to be so proactive in making sure the work was done, but I understand that they have multiple crews and are very busy around the area (I see their trucks all the time). I would recommend 404-Cut-Tree and will likely use them again in the future.

They were wonderful. I had trees that were under the massive tree they had to take down. They saved all the other tress and trimmed the limbs. They cleaned up so nice in the yard. They had to dig in the ground 4 ft. but they filled in the holes and cleaned up the yard. They were very professional and polite. They were all dressed nicely with their uniforms, they are first class. They were always on time and showed up when they said they would. They made sure that everything I wanted or might need was done. You could just tell they really wanted to do anything they could for the customers. I was very pleased. I would use them again and I have recommended them to two of my neighbors already. If I need anything done in my yard I will use them. They are the best company. Update 8/7/14: They were very good at what they did, but I think they may have been in a hurry towards the end. They damaged our yard and there were holes in the yard about three feet deep, they also left limbs in the yard as well.

We contacted them to cut down a dead tree in our frontyard. They were very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. The price quoted was very competitive. The job was done expeditiously and well. We would definitely hire them again and recommend them highly.

They were just here a month ago. They cut down three different trees. It cost eight hundred and eighty dollars. Everything was really easy, the gentleman came out and gave me an estimate. We talked about how to do it and the effect on the lawn, because one of the trees was a big pine. We talked about the stump grinding and we opted for that. He was very punctual. They answered all the questions. In the next day or two, the lady from the office called and we scheduled an exact time and they came and did their work. I thought the price was reasonable.

We were happy with the work but a caveat: this company had no problem completely booting us off their schedule the day of the appointment, because some other customer of theirs had some tree emergency. NOT MY PROBLEM!! What this tells me is that I am not important at all, but this other person clearly is WAY more important than everyone else that was scheduled that day. When they called to reschedule they left it up in the air and said they can come Friday. My appointment was Monday. We already waited 30 days for them to even fit us in for an appointment, and had to re-work our schedule in order to wait for them, so I did not want to wait an additional week. I called and asked for a refund (angie's coupon) and cancellation and at that point they stated that they would still come out on the same day. Other than that, I think my husband was happy with the work that they did. They were on time and they were efficient and our trees look great.

Very professional team that showed up with a knowledgeable crew chief who explained the entire process. In and out in 3 hours, cleaned up fully after pruning. Wonderful folks.

43They did an excellent job. They showed up on time; walked the property with me before they started; performed the work quickly and efficiently; and walked the project with me after it was finished. They chipped all the wood into the back of their truck and asked if I wanted any of it. Which I didn't, so they hauled it off. They cleaned up before they left. The guys were professional and courteous.

They were very pleasant and nice. We are not prepared to pay $2500 to have a tree removed - got several quotes ranging from $1700-$2500. We decided to wait until our neighbors have some trees taken out next year. Should save us some money!

I'm thrilled with the work they performed and found them very accommodating. I made an afternoon appointment, but when I left the house first thing in the morning, the two-man crew was arriving a few hours early. I showed them what to do, and despite having deep misgivings about leaving them to shape and trim trees and clean up the debris without supervision, I left for work. When I came home, I found the clean-up to be awesome and the work they did to be spot-on! They assured me that if I was less than satisfied, they would come back and not charge me until I was happy. Even better was the fact that my large pecan is still full and graceful, AND it shed not one twig or branch with all the wind and ice during the following 3 months. They found all the dangerous bits and still left the tree lovely. My crape myrtles were not over-butchered; the neighbor's over-hanging magnolia was thoughtfully trimmed back; and the other work was exactly as requested. The yard was very clean after they left. Since our job was fairly light, they were able to work us in to their schedule before we left for a long holiday, which was also very appreciated.

They arrived on time and were polite and professional. They trimmed all the branches that were noted in my estimate and also cut a couple of small branches for no additional charge. This is the second time I have used this company.

Arrive early. Walked me through before the work was done and again afterwards. Have used them before and will use them again. Highly recommend them.

It went very well. One of the key guys that I interacted with was one of the owners, he is an arborist and was quite knowledgeable about what to do with this particular tree. He had good knowledge.

This is an excellent company for cutting down trees. The guys were professional and cleaned up the area VERY well! They completely exceeded my expectations. Surprisingly, I thought the cost was LOW. However, they sent a guy over to dig the stump and he almost made things worse. The job was incomplete in many ways. Roots and a large portion of the stump remained. Of course I didn't know that because he left a HUGE pile of shaved wood on my front yard. When I called about this, they said it was in the fine print that they would not take away the wood chips. I have spent many hours and spent several hundred dollars to finish the job. Trees - YES! Stump removal - NO WAY!

The quote provider was very knowledgeable and helpful and the crew that came out to do the work was very professional and helpful. They did exactly as we discussed quickly and efficiently. They took away all clippings, limbs and trees and left the yard looking much better than when they arrived.

Eric and Jose were very good. It took about one hour to determine how to topple the tree since it was dead and had to be pulled down. I had asked them to bring the tree down into a 20 foot wide path that would avoid other healthy trees and they did. Robert, the arborist, correctly assessed the amount of time that the team would take so I understood in advance the cost by going to an hourly rate instead of a fixed price.

They were excellent and outstanding. I had them do some additional work and they gave me some estimate on it. They had someone come out who was an arborist. He was able to make suggestions based on what I was going to do. When they cut the limbs, they had it tied in so that it wouldn’t actually damage something.

Team was prompt, professional, and did good work taking down the trees. Stump grinding took an extra day.
