They did a fantastic job talking through the process, giving advice, and negotiating a good price for the work.

The job was clearly written up. Approval was obtained from the city and the job was scheduled. Work started as scheduled but was hampered by bad weather. I was notified by the owner and a resumption date was provided. Everyone I dealt with conducted themselves in a professional manner

I've done business with CUT TREE twice and both times were quick, easy, and stress-free. The workers were punctual and did the work with dispatch. My yard was cleaner when they left than before they started. I will continue to use them whenever I can.

The workman were great but the company did not stand up to damage There was disputed damage to my car. Their solution was for me to fill a claim with my insurance company. My adjuster could evaluate the damage and decide who was at fault and deal with it. I felt that they should have filed a claim with their company. If there was doubt we could deal with it then instead of putting the burden on me.. Very unprofessional of management

I have used 404-Cut-Tree at least 4 times at two different properties to remove trees or to just perform tree and large shrub trimming. The entire staff from the arborists to the tree climbers and crew are very professional and punctual. I've always been pleased with the end results of the work performed and comfortable with the safety precautions used by the crews. Final billing has always matched the original quotes. The crews are also flexible if additional work is requested while they on the job site. They will provide an estimate on the spot. I plan to use them again.

They were excellent, very reasonable and I'm very pleased with them. They were on time and gave me a written contract. They did exactly what I want done.

We were not happy with the customer service that we received from 404-Cut-Tree. While the actual crew was fine; they showed up on time, were cordial and professional and completed the work in a timely manner, the salesman had done a poor job of communicating the details of the job to the workcrew. We were told by the sales person that a fence would be removed to better access the trees and that any shrubbery would be dug up and replaced. Having no knowledge of this, the workcrew ran over the existing shrubbery including plants near the foundation of the house where the salesman had assured us they would not need to go. Presumably they would have done far less damage had they removed the sections of fencing as described by the saleman. In total, five shrubs were destroyed or severely damaged as well as an ornamental redbud tree some distance from the work site. In speaking with the work crew, they said just to call the office about the damaged plants and that the company would replace them. After contacting the office, they indicated that they would reimburse us $100 for shrubs and a tree that at full replacement value would have cost about $700. The salesman tried to blame us for typing out his sloppy, handwritten workorder since he couldn’t be bothered to present a clean work order. Ultimately, the company took $150 off the >$6000 bill. I would not recommend using this company as they were unwilling to be responsible for damages, and I would be very wary of anything promised by their salesmen.

They took out the big tree without damaging anything, did a ton of work, and left the yard looking like they had never been there. I watched the whole process and I'm still amazed. These guys are awesome...and super nice too.

They were excellent. We’ve used them for the past 7 years. They’ve done so much here. They’ve cut down 2 huge Birches and cleaned up. Our neighbors have a piece of historic property behind us and the older gentleman who owns it had all these trees that were coming over. They were Leyland Cypress’s and 404-CUT-TREE came down on our side and cleaned them all up. They're wonderful. I would use them permanently. About 5 houses in the neighborhood uses them & our Homeowners Association uses them. It took one day for them to cut down the one tree. The workers are excellent.

Excellent work and reasonable pricing

Great. This was a big job that they completed in just one day with three men and a bobcat. They worked hard and were as unobtrusive as possible considering the job they were doing.

Very professional and trustworthy. We have been working with them for years! Price wise on the higher side but then again you always get what you pay for!

It went as well as it could have--they came out as promised and gave a knowledgable estimate and a cost that was about in the middle of the four companies I talked to. They scheduled me that week since it was urgent, and came as promised. Unfortunately the city wasn't talking to itself, and one department shut us down despite having the permitting, and so the crew had to leave. The arborist I dealt with and the office were extremely helpful in working quickly with me and the city to resolve everything, and they came out the next day. i was honestly astonished about how well the crew did--they did the work as promised and cleaned up the yard better than i could have hoped for. Alejandro and his crew were great.

They showed up on time for the estimate. They're always professional, but their price was a little high. I'm not sure the price is competitive so I'm getting other estimates to compare at this time.

Stuart Prince is very professional and knowledgeable. I was undecided after meeting a couple of other tree companies. Stuart clearly explained how they plan to remove the tree and provided a very reasonable estimate. I decided to go with this company after meeting with Stuart. The tree removal service went smoothly - the guys knew exactly what to do to take down a big tree. They cleaned up the grounds nicely and hauled away the tree trunks. Stuart came back to check on how things went and asked whether I had further questions. The overall experience was excellent. I highly recommend Stuart Prince and this company for future tree services.

I went with 404 based on reviews from this site and others. Jordan came out to give me a quote. He was very knowledgeable and seemed to be taking down notes as we went along. I had two large trees that needed to come down. I also had about 15 small to medium trees to be removed. Then there were about 7 large trees that needed a few limbs removed. Of unique concern is an incredibly large, old oak that is the centerpiece of our front yard. It had several limbs that were growing out over the house that we wanted cut back. Jordan got back to me quickly with a quote. It did not include a few of the trees we had discussed so I called him back and we got that settled. Based on the decent price compared to other quotes I received and the great feedback from Jordan, I accepted the quote and scheduled the work. Everything up to that point was a positive experience and gave me confidence that I had picked a good company. Unfortunately that is where the good experience ended. The crew arrived early on the scheduled morning as expected. The one gentleman that came to the door spoke broken English. He asked me if Jordan would be there soon to give them direction. This was the first red flag that went up. I said I didn’t know. I assumed that Jordan would have coordinated with his own crew. So I called Jordan and seemed to have caught him off guard. He said he would be over soon but that the crew should start on the removal of the large trees in the back. OK. So I relayed this information to the crew and off they went. I watched out the window as they were taking down the first tree, a large oak. Don’t get me wrong, these guys are professionals. I have hired several different tree companies in my time. I could tell they knew what they were doing. But they were very careless in dropping the larger limbs and they were crashing on top of my azaleas. I started to video their work in case something went terribly wrong. Next they were a little careless when they were dropping the large sections of the trunk. One hit some of my pavers. Another left a large impression in the ground. And yet another one cartwheeled, rolled all the way down my side yard and came to rest at the foundation of my neighbor’s house. I know that you cannot remove large trees with no impact. But the whole reason I chose this company was that Jordan assured me that they could cut these trees in small enough sections as to lower them down and drop them in the pine straw areas of my yard, not the grass or bushes. Then I watched as they used their machine to pick up and load the trunk sections into their truck. They were simply rushing the work and continuously were pulling the arm of the machine along with trunk sections and large limbs through our beautiful Japanese Maple that we have had for 15+ years. Small to medium branches were broken off in about 15 different places. I took photos and video of all the damage. Seeing this I called Jordan and told him that he needed to get on site as soon as possible because I was not comfortable with the way the job had started. Jordan showed up about an hour and a half after work had started. By that time the crew had also finished trimming branches off the large oaks in my backyard near the house. We sat at a table in my kitchen as I showed him several videos of the careless work. I also expressed my concern about the language barrier since he would not be on site. Jordan was diplomatic about it all. But he said that most of what he saw was normal operating procedure. I then told him that I was concerned about the limb work on our mature oaks, because the 4 trees that they had trimmed so far were cut much higher than Jordan and I agreed on in the walkthrough. And I was especially concerned on not having the trees in my front yard look like they had been hacked up. I specifically told him that my wife would kill me if the old oak in the front was cut too much. So Jordan and I went outside and went back over the limbs to be trimmed on the remaining trees in the front. Well, to make a long story short, Jordan soon left and the crew proceeded to cut way more limbs off of each tree than we agreed to. When they called me outside to look at our old oak I was saddened to see what they had done to it. And they asked if I wanted any more limbs cut off. As I looked up I noticed that another very large limb had been cracked open by them falling other limbs on top of that. I didn’t think I had to point it out, but I said “hey guys, that limb is half way broken off. You just can’t leave it there.” So unfortunately they had to cut that entire limb off and leave the tree even more hacked than it already looked. My wife was heartbroken at the appearance of our yard. I was too. You just can’t undo what they had done. The final blow came about two months later when spring hit and the trees and flowers started blooming. We noticed that one of the three major trunks on our Japanese Maple was not producing any new growth. We had our lawn guy look at it and he noticed a sizeable fracture in the trunk. That tree will likely die soon. 404 ruined the 2 best trees on our property. I documented all of the above with photos and video. 404-Cut-Tree simply dropped the ball with poor communication and almost zero oversight of their crew. The end of job cleanup was also poor. The only positive is that they did not do any damage to the house while cutting down several of the limbs that were hanging over the roof line.

The job went very well; all of the team members that I encountered through the course of the transaction were professional, friendly and helpful. I would definitely use their service again.

These guys are good. Timely service and did any little extras on trimming that we requested.
