Description of Work: A young man came to our door to solicit our business. We live in a subdivision that is clearly marked with a NO SOLICITATION sign at entrance. I only opened my door to speak with him, as I had an appointment with someone to give me a bid on interior work, which I thought was him. He introduced himself as JT ( or JR ). He said they were in the subdivision at a neighbors' house, therefore noticed our windows were in need of replacement. ( I'm sure this is a line used to get their way to solicit ). We talked about window replacement, as we need to replace our windows in the future, so allowed him to give his sales pitch. He took our contact info, although I did not give our last name. When he called in to schedule a FREE estimate, which he said would be locked pricing, since we told him we are not ready to have exterior work done for a long time, the scheduler ( Joann, I think ) asked for our name, address, etc. Again, I did not give our last name, which she stated was required to schedule. I spent way too much time with this company already... Why do they need last name to offer an estimate? VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! The young man was nice, did his job, but the policy they follow lacks!

We're sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience - however, I wanted to clarify why we are so thorough when it comes to collecting vital information during our first point of contact with the customer. A home remodeling project can be a complex and detailed process - there are dozens of styles, options and products that we offer, determining which are best to present to the homeowner depend on certain elements of your home, such as the style and age. We request this important information up front so that we know going into the estimate which information will be the most important to your project and how we can best communicate that while still be respectful of your time. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please feel free to contact me directly. Yours in Service, Ray Lodato Director of Digital Communications Power Home Remodeling 610.874.5000 x2260

Description of Work: Removed and installed a window and a sliding glass door (with mini-blinds between double paned glass. They had to remove a poorly installed "mini-greenhouse window," which involved "extra work" (anticipated from beginning). All work done and clean-up executed very efficiently and am happy with end result. Plan to use again for oversized french doors.

You couldn't have asked for better service. They were in contact with all fazes of the project. Everyone knew what was going on and when. The installation went like clockwork and all very professional. They were here from 9 to 5 one day. All the workers (3) knew just what to do and when. When the job was complete they packed up and you would never know they were here. I think the company is great and we are going to install the rest of our windows A.S.A.P.
Description of Work: removed old wooden windows (8) and reinstalled new vinyl windows ,that are just beautiful! They have a lifetime warranty on the whole window.

The entire process went smoothly, the team was prompt, efficient and courteous. Our energy savings have been significant already! Our dining room, which faces west has always been very stuffy around 5 p.m. during the summer months. This is no longer a problem. The windows are so beautiful that we haven't bothered to reinstall blinds. The windows frame the neighborhood so beautifully. We have since replaced two windows in the garage area and have contracted to replace our front door and six more windows on August 29,2013. We have been quite impressed with each individual that has come to our home, from the initial person in January who came to our door freezing one evening around 6pm to the diligent crew that actually installs. Everyone is an absolute professional as well as uniquely and engaging. They are all welcome in our home at any time. It is quite obvious that there is a special emphasis on treating the customer like a person not a number. We absolutely appreciate this renewed business attitude. We actually left the Power sign in our yard a few weeks longer than asked, we just need Power T-shirts now! Thanks again Power! See you soon!
Description of Work: We had two Bay Windows replaced and attic insulation(E-shield) replaced during the initial visit, at the end of July we had the two garage windows replaced. We are now excitedly waiting for a third major installation!

The salesman was so awesome that we invited him out with our family the evening that he came. The presentation was great and the windows are amazing. The installation men were professional, courteous, and very fast. The 5 windows were installed in 2 hours. The quality inspector was very nice and helpful. He showed us all the window features again and made sure we knew all about the warranty and how to contact them. We will use them again next year when we need a new roof.

Description of Work: We did not use their services, but I am sure that we won't in the future because of their sales tactics. A very nice young man knocked on our door and told me that the company was in the neighborhood giving free estimates on replacement windows. I told him we were not interested in replacing them right now. He was adamant that it was a free estimate that was good at any time in the future so I said ok but made it VERY CLEAR that I would not tolerate a sales pitch when the guy came to give the estimate.

We used Power Home Remodeling I suppose because they were in the right place at the right time and gave an effective presentation on the day of our scheduled appointment. Initially, someone came to the door saying they were doing work in the area, your house looks like it has original windows, let's schedule you for a quote, etc. We went ahead and scheduled someone to come by and give us the sales pitch. The presentation is very lengthy and high pressure in the end as discounts are realized if you decide on their windows at the end of the presentation that day. The young men who arrived were very polite and knowledgeable. We liked what we saw/heard and decided to go forward with the insulation and windows installation. From there, we scheduled a pre-install inspection, which went quickly and smoothly. It seemed to be mostly a matter of double-checking the first guy's measurements. At that meeting, we scheduled the actual install date, with an ETA between 8-10 a.m. On that morning they may have arrived late but I think they called to let us know ahead of time. I definitely appreciated the phone call so I wasn't wondering whether they were coming. Both sets of the installers were also polite and professional and got right to work. The guys who installed the insulation also installed two Nest thermostats, set them up and explained the basic operation to me. They were done after about six hours of laboring in the ninety plus degrees in the attic. Once the job was done I could notice immediate results. My son's old bedroom is the largest room in the house and used to be the hottest in the summer and coldest in the winter. It nows seems the coolest room in the house and we'll have to wait until winter to see if it's warmer than usual. The window installers got right to work upon their arrival approximately one month later. They explained the process and proceeded with their work in a professional manner. It was a lengthy process (three days) but they did get it done around 6:00pm on the third day. On the first day of the project I had a few questions which Mike (I believe) eagerly took the time to explain how to use the windows (like how to set the window to vent from the top, how to hinge both the top and bottom for cleaning, etc.). Overall, these gentlemen did a fantastic job and while it has been less than a month since installation, at this point we are very pleased with the windows, insulation, and thermostats. Unfortunately, there is one negative and that is concerning the cleanup afterwards. I understand that after a three day job, one might be eager to get the heck out of there and home to their families, but I have had to pickup approximately twenty screws and various other metals in my driveway, on my deck and patio. I have been lucky up to this point but everyone knows that nails, screws and other metals could be detrimental to a set of feet and tires. I wanted to end on a positive note because that is our overall general feeling towards the work performed. So I'd like to state that Power Home Remodeling Group performed their duties in a very professional manner and did a good job at it. We are pleased with the results thus far and things seem to be shaking up just as stated in the presentation. Good job fellas!

We ended up with Power Home Remodeling the same way I assume most do: someone came to the door saying they were doing work in the area, your house looks like it has original windows, let's schedule you for a quote, etc. We went ahead and scheduled someone to come by and give us the sales pitch. Be warned that this quote/pitch is a LENGTHY process. Like 3+ hours. If you schedule it in the evening, they'll be there until bedtime. The young man who arrived was very polite and knowledgeable. We liked what we saw/heard and decided to go forward with half the windows in the house. From there, we scheduled a pre-install inspection, which went quickly and smoothly. It seemed to be mostly a matter of double-checking the first guy's measurements. At that meeting, we scheduled the actual install date, with an ETA between 8-10 a.m. On that morning, we received a call that they were going to be a bit late due to mechanical difficulties. They arrived around 10:40. I definitely appreciated the phone call so I wasn't wondering where the heck they were and if they were coming at all. The installers were also polite and professional, and got right to work. Once the job was done (around 4:00 p.m.), one of the men took the time to explain how to use the windows (like how to set the window to vent from the top, how to hinge both the top and bottom for cleaning, etc.) and to answer any questions. When I expressed reservations about getting our blinds back into the space left, he grabbed a bracket and showed me exactly how they would fit and where to put the screws. (And he was right.) While the installers were working, we got a call to ask how things were going and to schedule someone from quality assurance to come by to check the work after completion, so we went ahead and told them to come by around 6:30. This took longer than we anticipated. It basically turned into a sales pitch for us to commit to more windows on the spot. We did end up going forward with three more windows. I do wish someone along the way would mention this last meeting BEFORE the day of installation; it would be good to know that it's not all over once the windows are in. Altogether, we were pleased with the entire process. While there was a lot of time and appointments involved, we always felt like we were part of the process and aware of what to expect (other than the aforementioned quality follow-up). Every person we dealt with along the way was polite, professional, informed, and willing to answer questions. Last but not least, we love the windows. They are a vast improvement over the old ones. We've already opened the windows more in the last week than in the previous year. The folks at Power will be the first to tell you they're not the cheapest option, but the windows come with a lifetime transferable guarantee, so we shouldn't need to pay to replace these windows ever again.

Power came to my front door saying they were doing work in the neighborhood and noticed I had condensation on my windows and could they give me a quote to replace them. I had been looking at the condensation for months so I figured now is as good a time as any to get the ball rolling on replacing them. I said sure however the guy that came to my door was not the guy to give me the quote. He scheduled someone to come out later that day to give me a quote, 6pm. At 7pm I received a call that the salesman was still at his previous appointment and could they reschedule for the following day. I said sure. So, the following day a salesman came to my house. He told me all about the company, showed me his windows from the inside out, etc. He was here for 3 hours. At the end of the 3 hours, he gave me quote of $10,000. But, he said if I buy today, the quote would be approximately $8000 (don't remember the exact figure). Then, when I refused that quote, he said he could go down to $7800. I still refused the quote, saying that I wanted to get multiple estimates before making a decision. He said the lower price was only valid that day and if I bought at a later time, the price would be $10,000. After being very firm with him about getting multiple quotes, he seemed to get upset - got real quiet and just packed up his stuff and left in a hurry. Wouldn't give me anything in writing about the quote. Very high pressure salesman. I do not respond well to high pressure. I did end up purchasing windows but not from Power.

[member name removed], regarding out first visit discount, the reason we're able to offer such a steep discount on the first visit is simply a matter of efficiencies. We visit hundreds of customers everyday. By offering our customers a steep discount for an agreement that evening, we effectively eliminate costs from the potential project. In the long run, it is far more cost-effective for us to come to an agreement on cost if our customers are ready to move forward. And if we can come to an agreement, we push those cost savings right on to the customer for their trust in our products and team. At the same time, we realize asking customers to make a commitment on a large project in one evening is not something everyone can do. Therefore, we believe we offer other cost-effective options that allow you to consider Power while you schedule additional estimates are sit on the quote until you are ready down the line. We are confident in our products, warranties and level of service and while we are transparent that we are not the cheapest game in town, we feel our customers will ultimately choose quality over the lowest bid. Their price is on the high-end. When the salesman comes home, they use three-tier price tactics and the first one is always very high. Don't take their first price they offer. The second one (if you sign today, you get...) is also high. The third one (If you allow us to use the pictures of your home for our promotion, you get...) they offered was still high but came down considerably from the first one.
Description of Work: I'm satisfied with the workmanship and quality of product/service. They work efficiently. The transferrable lifetime guarantee is nice, too.
