Power Homes really seems to be customer satisfaction oriented. Initially I was just going to replace the 5 Living room windows, but I liked both the product and installation team so much that I had them come back to do the additional work. There are multiple "gotcha" checks built into their methodology. After the initial sale, a project manager does a site check and verifies that the work scheduled to be done agrees with what the customer is expecting prior to the arrival of the installation team. The installation team then verifies once again before starting work. When complete, satisfaction is verified by phone before the installation team leaves. Every team member that I have had the pleasure of dealing with has been very helpful and courteous and seems to be happy to be working for Power Homes. The team today went above and beyond by offering to re-install the brackets for the blinds that I had taken down prior to the first installation - and was having trouble getting back up. Took them very little time, but saved me hours and I REALLY appreciate it. I would not hesitate to call Power Homes for future needs.

Although I am planning on replacing all of the windows, my home unfortunately I have an older home with close to 70 windows. So, I decided to start on the windows that were in the most need, i.e. wood damage, etc. The installers were very quick (under 4 hours), neat, timely, and very professional. Initially we discussed doing the whole house which was about $60k, which included 3 exterior doors (1 french, 1 back porch, and 1 front door with the side lights), nearly 70 windows, attic blown insulation and their Solar Eclipse insulate. They (Linus was my salesguy - very nice and knowledgeable) worked with me to get my project paired down to under $10k only doing the windows that were in most need (about 10 windows). Then when I was contacted by my Project Manager, Chris. He walked through the job, reviewed what I wanted with the style of the house. He was very reassuring about the color scheme and how it would tie in with my Architectural roof and overall aesthetic. I couldn't be more pleased, and I am looking forward to doing more projects with Power.

Everything went very well, they stared around 8:30 AM and finished about 4:30PM They were on time and introduced themselves and identified the company they worked for and what they were there to do. They explained everything to me,asked if I had any questions. They were professional, respectfully of property and took great care in their work and they all worked together. They did such a great job, I love my windows. They went over all the instructions, care and cleaning, and told me to call if I had any problems or questions. Buy the way my neighbor came over to talk to the representative and after they were done she came back over to look at my windows. She told me that she had set up an appointment with them tomorrow. The installers were punctual and started to work soon after arrival. There was no glass breakage, and the work area remained clean and orderly. I am very satisfied with the product. The installers were competent, professional, efficient, and sociable. They also responded to questions I had as the work progressed. My experience with the sales personnel and installers was positive.

The young man who came out to give the estimate was very pleasant and informative, but the first figure he threw out to do a clean reroof (tear off of one layer of fifteen year old asphalt Tamko 20 year shingles) on the hip roof of my 1328 sq. ft. ranch, which is one story, with a 5 in 12 roof pitch, was $33,427.00 . This price was for installation of GAF architectural 50 year asphalt shingles, Deck Armor type underlayment, and a special continuous edge vent which Power Remodeling owns the patent for, along with a preformed drip edge and an ice/water barrier strip, starter shingles at the roof edge, and including a complete ridge vent. The deck under my roofing is one by fours, not plywood, there are no leaks, and as far as I can tell from looking at the undersides in the attic, the boards look to be in good shape, so wood replacement ought not be an issue. My roof does have a 2 and 1/2 foot overhang on all four sides, and there is a roofed carport and screened porch at the side of the house (20 by 25.6) and a narrow front porch, so the square footage of the house must be increased to about 2600 sq. ft., and taking into account the roof pitch, I make the roof area to be about 3000 sq. ft. or about 30 squares (100 sq. ft.). Even if I add a few more squares for margin, the bid still comes to over $1,000 per square, at least two or three times what the job should cost according to my research, and in fact I did receive another estimate from another highly rated Angie’s List company for about $7500 for the same installation, lacking only the patented continuous roof edge vent and the Deck Armor underlayment, which I elected to do without after consultation and further research. The roofer will use traditional felt paper underlayment. A third bid by a top rated Angie's List company came in at $9997.90 The Power Remodeling bid to cover my soffit and fascia with vinyl, including the ceilings of the small front porch, the carport and the screened porch, and to install new Leaf Guard 6” Alumalure gutters was $18, 472.00. The proposal did include three free sets of shutters. Another top Angie’s List company has offered to scrape, repair, prime, and paint all the house trim and gutters, as well as repair damaged screening and paint the screened porch and the carport, for about $2000, and I plan to have them do that instead of capping with vinyl. I will report on the painting company when the job is complete. Power Remodeler’s bid to install a new front door was $5,441.00. The Angie’s List painting company mentioned above offers to install a pre‑hung door provided by me for under $400 and the doors I have shopped for at Home Depot can be had for under $500. I will report further when the job is complete. Perhaps Power Remodeling would have done a top of the line job for me, but the total cost was approaching a fourth or fifth of my home’s total value, and I was not prepared to spend that much and told the young man so. At last I was offered a discount if I would sign up right then and there. When I still demurred (I don’t “sign right then and there” on much of anything), I was offered more “special” discounts in various combinations, including one with a free front door, etc. I think the cost of the roof was down to about $30,000.00 by then, but by that point I had stopped listening. The experience, (which lasted nearly four hours) was beginning to feel more like haggling at a Middle East bazaar than contracting for work on my house. As a lady with 77 years behind her, thirty of them as a landlord who took hands on care of multiple properties in a northern city, I am old‑fashioned enough to prefer a plain workmanlike proposal that I can evaluate and then accept or reject to an extended sales pitch.

The sales staff, schedulers, job manager, and roofers were all on time, professional, and performed efficient, high-quality work. The roof looks great. Substantial wood decking was replaced as part of the process, and the power venting system promises to lower my air conditional costs to boot. The entire house was draped to keep the debris field out of my bushes. All work-site messes were completely cleaned up, except for about a dozen (out of >10,000) nails, and even those were found and removed by the follow-up compliance officer. The price was reasonable for this style and quality roof, and reasonable financing terms were offered. I am so pleased with the work and with the company that I am already lined up to be a repeat customer for a roof on another part of the house.

HIGH PRESSURE SALES. I said I needed some roof replaced. They tried to sell me 25 new windows and a new roof. The man on the phone *insisted* that my wife was also home when their guy came to discuss the work. I told him that my wife didn't care about roofing but he just kept on insisting until I lied and said that she would be home. I got a courtesy call at work to remind me they were coming ... and to ask if my wife would be there. But, they never showed up. I think I dodged a bullet.

Having your home remodeled is a personal and intimate experience - you're opening up your home to a company and their employees and often spending a good amount of money to have the project done the right way. Furthermore, there are often many details communicated at the estimate that are important to the remodeling experience being smooth and pleasant. This is why we require both homeowners to be present at the time of the estimate. We pride ourselves on offering a remodeling experience that provides our customers with 'peace of mind' - and having trust and comfort in a company and their representatives is paramount to building that relationship. Over the course of our 22 years in business, we've found this policy to work extremely well in delivering a best in class experience for our customers. Service is our number one priority and our processes and procedures have been designed entirely with the customer in mind - this policy being no different. I apologize for the inconvenience and frustration - if you'd like to discuss your experience further, or if you had a change in heart and would like to work with us on your project, please feel free to contact me directly. PHRG had just moved into the Atlanta metro area and we had a representative knock on our door, serendipitously, since we had been talking to window installers that month. They were the second most expensive we looked at, but also the second best performance -- we did decide they were the best value though. Thanks to Angie's list, we had only looked at contractors with high quality reputations, warranties, and service so that part was easy. We were going to wait on the project due to the total cost, but then they offered us a fixed price contract that was good "forever", which finally sealed the deal. We agreed on the first round install of just 3 of the windows as a low investment trial. The windows were installed on time in Feb 2012. We were happy with the results and the people and 16 months later we'd finished 4 rounds of install, replacing all 19 windows in the main house. We are completely happy with the results so far Though things weren't always perfect. The first round left some minor damage to the sill jamb on all three windows and I had to go behind and push them back into place, recaulk, and touch up the paint. We had planned to paint the windows anyway, so I wasn't terribly upset about having to do touchups on my trim at the time. However, the caulking they used was non-paintable, which was annoying since the sales guy was supposed to make a specific note that we would be painting them to match our trim. That's when the misinformation came to light: we were told we by the sales guy that we could paint the window casing and not affect performance or warranty. This was wrong, it affected both -- not nulling the warranty but going from lifetime to 15 years (iirc). That left us with a problem: we had three windows with white casings standing out like a sore thumb next to tan trim -- 2 on the front, 1 on a side. We eventually worked out a deal where they would move the 2 from the front to a side where they would be the only ones. This was good enough for us, though I'm pretty sure we could have eventually talked them into replacing them for free since we were misinformed. Oddly, we talked to three separate sales reps about the problem and they all said, in nearly the same words, "Smash them with a sledgehammer then call in a warranty replacement, they won't care and you can get the color changed". The quality control guy that visited to plan the second round was not a fan of this, though it would have worked. The second round took care of those things, moving the windows to the side and replacing where they were with new ones with the proper color, plus installing two more to go with them. That's when we discovered that the first round also hadn't installed everything they were supposed to -- they forgot the aluminum casing that seals off the edges and acts as a decorative trim. They installed them all on the second round windows, but that left us with one window without. These installs were perfect, nothing to complain about. They were also done by a different team, who were much more personable. Rounds three and four happened after almost a year gap, but only 2 months apart, but we eventually got around to them. They went out without a hitch really, with the same installers from before and we love the results. They also added the casing to the window that was missing it. All neat and tidy. We had a tendency to hang out with the sales and quality guys for hours longer than it really took us to arrange the next install. We were usually their last stop (7PM on a weeknight usually) and we often had interesting things to fool around with. It probably helped that we were always about the same age as the reps (late 20s). Always a good time. Aside from the screw ups on the first round, everything went great. Problems will arise, and I think PHRG did an excellent job at handling them, making us happy customers. You can't really ask for more.

The job went very smoothly. All the workers showed up on time and worked hard all day. While the job had been scheduled for two days, they completed it in one, which was great, since we were scheduled for one of Atlanta's rare winter storms on the following day. As promised, they cleaned up EVERYTHING - picking up every little bit of trash and running over the property with magnets to ensure not one nail was left behind (important since I have pets and a very wooded lot so scraps and nails can hide in the mulch). They even removed leaves from beds close to the house where I asked them to - it facilitated their clean up and was a great help to me. Scott, the supervisor, was very communicative about all details, including how they would handle the work around my 'custom' skylight that needed some fitting repair once they removed the old roof. We've had rain and snow since, and today the ice has come and I have not one complaint. All is snug without a leak. The gutter installation has been rescheduled due to the weather. I have full faith that that will go as smoothly. I'll keep you posted.

The company is professional and communicated with us in all aspects from quote to replacing the windows to follow up inspection. We are very pleased with the final results. We had one window that was 5 ft wide and 9 ft tall. This window was so large that it needed to be replaced with two windows. The work crew was meticulous cleaning up after themselves every day. A young man came through canvassing the area. He knocked on our door and asked if we needed anything done to our house. I told him we needed a few windows replaced and we made an appointment. When the salesman came, I knew within the first 10 minutes of his appointment that he was going to come up with a huge estimate. I tried as nicely as possible to emphasize that we were moving in a couple of years and we just wanted to have the house in good condition, not do an overhaul. We could not get rid of this guy, and our message was not getting through. He stayed for 3.5 hours…talked to my husband while I cooked dinner and it was 9pm before he left. He wanted to replace all of the windows in our house and put some kind of insulation in the attic that we had already quoted from a company that does that particular service exclusively. That company had told us that because of the way our attic was configured, it would be pointless. The $45,000 initial price tag was reduced three times while the salesman was here. We got several follow-up phone calls with lower prices as well. Pinnacle Windows came out and looked at our windows later. They suggested replacing only the windows that were problematic, and any window next to them that might look out of place with a new window beside it. Total price tag: $4,200. REALLY. Less than 10% of the quote from Power. I wouldn't let these guys come anywhere near my home, even if I were keeping it for the rest of my life. Their prices are marked up astronomically so they can negotiate with you, and I'm sure that their margins are huge even if you wait to get their lowest price.
Description of Work: Sent someone to our neighborhood to knock on doors and ask if we needed any home improvements. They set up an appointment and the salesman came later.

Our Sales Rep and Project Manager worked with us to keep the project within our budget. We reduced the window count to 17 windows by placing one large window in openings where two windows were side-by-side. This drastically reduced the cost of our whole-house project and looks fantastic. We knew every step of the way what was going to happen next and every appointment date was handled very professionally with a pre-arrival call and they were on time every time. The project took 3 1/2 days instead of the projected 2 days to complete, but we had a couple of windows that had unlevel openings which they took care of. The installers were friendly, knowledgeable and professional explaining any issues that arose and dealing with them with a "Plan B" attitude. We were amazed at the lack of clean-up we were left to deal with when they were done. They washed each window and vacuumed and wiped away any trace of installation debris. We had been told by the sales rep that the windows were to be installed from the inside, but the installers explained that their team usually does them from the outside which worked out fabulously. The men worked well together and it was obvious they had their routine down to a science. The company's installers work exclusively with PHRG and that gave us a degree of comfort knowing they do this on a daily basis and know the product inside and out. We liked that we had measurements done by the Sales Rep for an estimate of cost, again by a Project Manager for exact measurements in ordering the windows and again by the Installation Team to be sure the windows on their truck were correct for our project. We highly recommend Power Home Remodeling Group for awesome windows that literally change the look of your house. The painting of the window trim we were about to do is not needed and for that, we are very grateful!

No one has ever tried to get in contact with us or any sort of follow up. I even told them I was interested in replacing ALL my windows. this was going to be a big job for them....but they cannot seem to get their act together. I went on their web site and was interested in their product. However I have found in the past when they cannot even show up for a set appointment and they fail on their follow up. They are not worth the effort. THEY FAILED!!!
Description of Work: A month ago they had people canvasing our neighborhood touting their window installation with a one year price guarantee. I was interested but did not have the time to discuss scheduling an appointment at that time and politely asked them to have their scheduler contact me the following day. No one ever called. The following month I ran across their display booth at the "Taste of Atlanta".....I told them of my experience....they apologized and vowed to set things right. they even scheduled another appointment on the spot. I even talked to their scheduling representative on their phone to schedule an appointment for two days hence. No one ever showed up or called. when I called their 800 number.....they said they did not have any appointment scheduled. REALLY???

Tina and Mike came though our neighborhood yesterday (10/21) to set appointments. We were told they were in the area doing quotes and would like to quote our window replacement. We need to have all our windows replaced since they are all wooden and rotting. We had an appointment scheduled today at 7:30 for Power Home Remodeling Group to come and give us a quote for windows. They called my husband to verify around 4 this afternoon. They told him that since we only had one area (it is a 10 foot by 8 foot window, made up of 7 smaller windows) that we were ready to replace they would not come out to quote us. The job was not big enough. This is total unacceptable in my opinion. They were willing to have people come knock on my door in the middle of dinner yet can't even make the appointment since our job was not big enough of them.
Description of Work: NOTHING!!! Canceled the appointment

In August, 2013, Power came out and replaced all my windows with the exception of the picture window in the dining room and the picture window with the privacy glass in the master bathroom. Because of the cost, I was going to wait on those until the others had been paid for. The inspector came out to check the work of the installers, noticed the bathroom window had not been replaced and when I explained why, he sat down and did some more figuring. By adding to the contract the cost of 1 picture window (I decided to do the dining room window rather than the bathroom) my payment went up just a couple of dollars and my interest rate came way down. All the people I have seen and talked with from PHRG have been great and unbelievably helpful. I absolutely love these windows. My breakfast room and all three bedrooms have sliders which are wonderful and let in so much fresh air. The installing crew was very friendly, efficient and cleaned up everything after themselves and even cleaned the windows before they left. I have told (and bragged) to everyone I know about my windows. Everyone really likes them so I'm sure you're going to get more business around this area. The windows are not only excellent but the warranty on them is what sold me in the first place. The windows were fairly new when I bought this house and the seal on every one of them had broken and all of them were foggy. and, of course, the warranty had expired. If anything happens to my Power windows, they will be replaced without question, no matter how old. AND, if something happens and PHRG goes out of business, they are still backed by Northeast Building Products Corp. How's that for a warranty!!
Description of Work: On the 26th they installed a picture window in my dining room. Please see details below.
