Ackerman Security Systems

When we purchased this house in March 2008, it had an existing security system that we were told worked perfectly but wasn't monitored. (Yeah... right.) So, I went on a search for a company to provide equipment service and monitoring. After searching the web extensively and calling all over town trying to find someone who would work on the existing system instead of wanting to sell me a new system, I finally found Ackerman. They said they could service the system and monitor it. So, I made the appointment. They arrived on time and were professionally dressed. When they checked out the system, they found that the previous owners had cut the wires to the control boxes. Once they got the control boxes up and running, there were missing contacts and there were trouble alarms all over the place. Obviously, instead of repairing the system, the previous owners just solved the problem with wire cutters. (They also ignored the rats in the attic... go figure.) Regardless, the Ackerman technician stayed with the job until late in the evening and all the next day until the system was running perfectly. Since we were doing remodeling, I've had to call them back out a few times to move contacts or repair ones that the remodeling guys destroyed. They've always been prompt and proficient. The only reason I gave them a B in 'responsiveness' is that sometimes it's difficult to get a technician's appointment within a week. It really should be an A- because it only happened one time. I pay $284/year for monitoring and it's worth every penny. Every time I set off the alarm, they're calling me before I have time to look up their number to call them! They're always courteous and helpful... and I've done this a number of times over the past year.

The few times I have had an issue because of the alarm was set off, they called very promptly. They are courteous. One time I was out of town and they called the police for me and then called me out of town to let me know what happened. One time I had a spider crawl on to the motion sensor and that set off the motion alarm and the company did not charge me for the visit.

From start to finish, it was an excellent experience. The sales rep. Dale knew his stuff, he was not just a sales person but had a lot of knowledge and was very accommodating of our busy schedule. Dale was the only person from the 3 major companies we called, who said he could utilize some of the existing system's components and combine with many new components. We feel extra safe with this design. The Installation was flawless with Stan working tirelessly in creating a wonderful system which has worked well since the installation in January. The company's response time to my accidental false alarms has been excellent.

They seem to be concerned about my happiness. Their pricing is average for the area and they are responsive.

I have been using them for several years and until now have not changed because the service has been adequate, but expensive. I needed to change a code recently and the monitoring service was unable to help me and one lady was very rude. I finally got them to call the service tech on call and they said he would call me back. He didn't call, after 2 hours I called back and was told he said it was not an emergency so he didn't want to call me. I asked why no one called me and let me know, and she didn't know. It was Saturday, she said I'd have to wait until Monday and call the office and pay someone to come out as a service call. I told her my contract was up for renewal and I would not be renewing if no one could help me. She said she would let the technician know. No one ever called me back and I won't be renewing. It is worth going to another company for better customer service.

This wasn't what I expected. I would think the techs that come out would be able, the first time, maybe even the second time, to resolve the issue. Not the case. Carefully specify your alarm equipment. Ask very specific questions about functionality. Get it in writing.

We found we were not ever setting the alarm, so we decided, after more than 3 years, to cancel our contract. These people were extremely difficult to deal with. I would advise anyone to read their contract very, very carefully before signing anything.

We loved the experience! Mr. Roberts did a great job from the time of greeting us to inspecting our system to explaining his system and the cost. He was courteous and was respectful, much more than our past security system company representatives had treated us.

They do what they say they are going to do and keep everything going, as far as I know. I think it is monitored out of Texas. We have never had to have them respond, so I don't feel like I should grade them on that.

I am overall happy with their services. They had some service issues that they came out to work on, but had said they would come back to finish later. I called the supervisor so they stayed here and fixed it for free. So, I think they ended up redeeming themselves in the end.

The thing I like best about them is that they gave you signs to put in your window and yard. We get a discount on our home owners insurance for having the monitoring. There have been on problems. They do have a customer service department where I can call in and ask questions or request a service rep to come to our home.

I'm very satisfied with Ackerman Security. They have an immediate response time. The sensors are very sensitive and make us feel pretty safe. We pay a yearly contract for their services which is $215. The price reflected is the installation fee for a fairly elaborate system.

They are a good and well known company in the area, and I have been using them for the last five years. I have never had any problems with them and the system really works, because if something happens they get on the phone immediately.

Ackerman is a smaller, more localized company in our community. They are always prompt, affordable, and easy to work with. They are great about communication and they always live up to their end of the bargain. We have been with them for a while now and we're real happy with the services they provide.

We are moving soon and I think we'll probably go with a new alarm service company. We had a false alarm in this house and Ackerman took over one minute to respond. In one minute, if something had gone wrong, we all could have been dead. They're average I guess but I expect a little more than I am getting so I can't really say I'd recommend them to others necessarily.

Ackerman has been pretty good and pretty responsive. The prices have stayed the same. It's just more money if you go wireless, as opposed to a landline I guess. In general, I would call myself happy. I have set off my alarm a few times and they're pretty good about solving the problem in a quick manner, which I like.

I had Ackerman at my old house and I still have them at my new house. They are great with installation, highly responsive if you ever have an alarm that is sounding, and they charge a good ten dollars less than other companies. I think the world of them and have always been satisfied by them in every way.

They have always been very good to me. The price is just right and anytime I had to call them, they are right there to help me. I have recommended them to several of my friends and family, and they have all been pleased as well.

Ackerman is the only service in town that does wireless that we have been able to find. They are great. We have been really impressed with them. I highly recommend them. The wireless was so important to us so that is why we went with them. They are outstanding. Their response time is amazing too. I mean, as a customer, I look for if a company is reliable, dependable, if they are responsive, dependable, and Ackerman is all of these things so I am very happy with them.

I'm pretty satisfied with the service this company provides for me because they're a well known alarm monitoring company and they are very serious when it comes to providing safety for my home.

I'm very happy with this alarm system company. I used them in my old home and hired them again when I moved into my new home. It s a company I really trust because of their professionalism and commitment to providing safety for our home.

To be perfectly honest, we love our alarm system company. Ackerman is local to this area and they are just great. They are always on top of things, they treat you like you are valued, and we think a lot of this company.

It's been about a week now since our new system has been installed. Our sales consultant has been wonderful. He is extremely knowledgeable and very responsive. We've had some bumps with the installation department but fortunately, we have our sales consultant, who is always eager to take care of things for us. Because of the troubles we've had, he even suggested giving us another month free! So far, we are enjoying the ease of the system and will look forward to the technician coming out tomorrow to download a program and take care of everything for us.

Ackerman meets our needs perfectly. We have never experienced a problem with them. They are available and pretty affordable and they offer good services for their customers.
