Ackerman Security Systems

Lousy. We had a malfunction that caused a loud beep at random hours, waking us from sleep almost every night. Technician visited 4 times, ultimately charging us $300 for a new circuit board, and he said that was all he could do. About 4 hours after he left the beep happened again. We called to have the service cancelled, and asked for a refund of the wasted $300 that we paid. Agent offered to "split the difference." I suffered 100 percent of the loss, but she offered 50 percent of a refund. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and was told none were available and I would receive a call withint 24-48 hours. Unsatisfactory responsiveness (still has not called, BTW). Then shie informed me that we still owe $79 for the remainder of our contract. We signed a 3 year contract 5 years ago, but she claimed there was some small print stating we will auto renew for an additional 12 month contract every year. Deceptive and shoddy practices. Their monitoring service is less than others, but apparently you get what you pay for.

All of my interactions with the company have been positive and professional.

They been very good. They checked promptly. The cameras that they installed helped to catch a wanted guy.

New Alarm Customer Watch Out For Hidden Costs and Additional Fees. I Would Not Use Their Alarm Services Again.

I am posting a review because I sent an email on Thursday, December 8th to communicate with Mr. Bean through the Angie's List Portal. As of Tuesday, December 13th, no response. I am very interested in a home security system. I am very disappointed that I have not been contacted. Hence the reason for a F rating for responsiveness. I would consider hiring if I received a telephone call.

First of all my representative , Ken was awesome getting everything set to go ! The installation of Cameras and Security Systems was done very quick and professional! Love our system and cameras! Would definitely recommend them to anyone! Thanks Ackerman!!!!!

Everything went very well from the first contact with our representative Ken Fretz to the final installation of the cameras. Ken was very friendly and knowledgeable of the Ackerman products. We can now rest easy that our system is being monitored and at a great price!!

Super quick and professional . My salesperson Tamiko went out and of her way to meet with me and get my setup scheduled as quick as possible. Robert my installer explained everything and demonstrated all functions and made sure I was comfortable with my system.

She explained how the system worked, and how much it cost every month. Vivian Hawkins was very attentive to me and answered all my questions. I would love to have her as my friend.

It is going great, I have had the service for about 10 years and I am extremely happy with the service.

I've had ackerman alarm service since 2012 at my old house. I just recently had a baby with my girlfriend so we decided to move into a new house about 20 miles away. I've never had a problem with ackerman so I decided to use them again. I called to transfer service and a different salesman came this time he was able to take over a pre existing alarm from a different company. He reassured me nothing will change about my service just my location. I always test my alarm without calling them to see how fast they call me and usually within 2 minutes I get a call. Customer service is great and when you have to call they always help........the best part I think is they don't hound you over the bill

Hats off to our Ackerman Rep, Peter Ian, who not only got our indoor, wireless monitored system set up four years ago before we moved into our new home, but who stopped by last week to get us set up with a long-desired outdoor, wired camera security system. The wireless, indoor monitored system has worked magnificently and consistently all four years with Ackerman's Central Station, with their excellent array of Honeywell products. Today, installers Justin and Tim arrived on time at 8:00am on the mark and did an absolutely outstanding job with our wired camera system. The design of our two-story home, though beautiful, has so many rooflines and other oddities that I thought it would be a difficult job to run all that wiring. They made it seem like child's play and were completely done and out the door, including training and getting all our phones and devices set up, by 11:30. Cleanup was complete and the wiring was such that you'd have thought it was done when the house was built! Best of all, the quality of the camera views on our TV monitor are crisp, in color and instant. We're expecting the same tonight with its infrared, night vision views. The same goes for how sharp they are on all our phones and tablets. We are pleased beyond measure! Thanks to Peter, Justin, Tim and all the Ackerman support team!

Initial visit to the completion of installation was great. I would definitely recommend to all my friends. I especially liked the fact that I was not "oversold". I made the call with the initial mindset of having to pay for a whole new system. To my surprise it was just a matter of updating my equipment that had remained dormant for the last 3yrs.!

She was clear on all information provided.
