The provider was responsive in providing the estimate. Unfortunately the estimate was much higher than another one that we used. [Estimate $12,000.00]

I am sorry that our estimate was not more competitive. Usually we are somewhere in the middle on our pricing when compared with mulitiple contractors and very competitive on quality and pricing of work. I must admit I don't remember providing this estimate but I hope that this member will continue to see our positive comments and give us a chance to earn her business in the future.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. My kitchen is beautiful and they did an excellent job on the remodeling but the remodeling process was not easy to get done. I bought the deal in February and they finished in mid-June. I thought that I was going to have to put out extra plates for Thanksgiving because it took them forever. I thought they were never leaving. They didn't start the work until the end of April. I never once saw an invoice for anything on this project. I would ask for copies of invoices and I always got stonewalled. I needed them for the warranty for the new appliances. He emailed me the model numbers because he would not part with those invoices. The deal was very clear on what the size of the kitchen would be for the $12,000. My kitchen was larger than that and I also wanted to go around the corner and put tile in my laundry room so I knew there would be extra expenses. I also wanted to replace my appliances. I am not upset with the cost. It was very much in keeping with what I expected it to be. The deal was for $11,999 and I ended up paying $26,000 because of the extra square footage and the appliances. I am not complaining about the quality of the workmanship or about the finished product. I am complaining because there was often a lack of communication and I wanted the invoices. I wasn't pleased with the cost of the refrigerator. It was like pulling teeth to get any answers out of the contractor. He did tell me that he had 6 months to complete the project.
Description of Work: I used West Georgia Design Build for a kitchen remodel. They completely gutted my kitchen.

I want to start by saying thank you for purchasing the big deal and taking the time to write a review for our company. The kitchen turned out beautifully. I am glad you are happy with the quality of the product you received and that you recognize you received a quality product at fair price. I hope other customers see that and understand when they read our reviews in the future. I would like to respond to a few comments made by this member just so that we can provide perspective from our point of view on this project and the process of a big deal from Angie’s List. This member is not the first member to not understand that purchasing a big deal does not mean that the work begins right away. It could, but not necessarily so. We are given several months from the time of the purchase of the big deal to work this new job into our existing work schedule as best as we can and begin the work. We began the job 2 ½ months after the purchase of the big deal. When we did begin this job, it took a little less than 6 weeks from start to finish which is about 1 to 1.5 weeks longer than we might have expected normally. We had a couple of material problems along the way that caused some delay. The second comment is that we are a dealer for all of the products that are provided. It was explained that the written estimate is her invoice. She continued to ask for it even though it had already been explained. There is no need of an invoice for any of the products provided to receive the warranty from the manufacturer, even the appliances. All that was needed is the serial number to be registered with them, which is clearly marked somewhere on the fronts of all the appliances. Thus we made sure to provide the serial numbers since she could not seem to locate them. Home Depot and Lowes are not going to provide you their invoices for their products. What they are going to do is give you their bill showing their costs for the products they are selling to you. We are no different in this regard. We provided an estimate and final invoice, as is normal, for our kind business. I feel that the communication was good but I will accept the members comment that maybe we could have done better. I don’t think it is fair to say it was like pulling teeth, however. The workday and week were always explained to the customer so that she was aware. I think this comment stems more from her feeling that she deserved the actual invoices even though it was explained that this was not the case. I am a believer that there is always room for improvement and I will make sure I use these comments to encourage our team to continually improve in our communication to our customers. I wish this customer the best and thank her again for taking the time to write a review on Angie's List.

Dwight was very helpful with the design. We knew what we wanted at a high level, but not the details. Dwight walked us through all aspects of the new design. This included the most cost effective way to install the new doorless, glass walled shower, in the space formerly occupied by a garden tub and tiny fiberglass shower stall. He offered suggestions on how to tile the frame around the glass block window that we didn't want to remove, and how to update the large mirror that we liked, so that it looked new and matched the new vanity. We picked out the main plumbing fixtures, and asked Dwight to get the miscellaneous ones, such as towel holders, that would match. This found this to be very helpful. West GA Design Build gave us a price that included everything. It was far less expensive and easier to do it this way, rather than get one price for the work, and be on our own to get the tile, toilet, etc. We were a bit leery of this, since we lost some control, but Dwight made it all work out. We were a bit surprised when the work began, in that Dwight would not be there to supervise every day. However his crew was excellent! They were professional, capable, courteous and respectful of the homeowner during the entire project. When the project was done and paid for, Dwight and his team were still there for us. When a few small issues arose, his team was there quickly to resolve them to my satisfaction. I highly recommend West GA Design Build !!!

Dwight, Matt, Shelby and all West Georgia Design Build employees were exceptional. It was a pleasure working with them. They were professional, polite and friendly. The quality of the work was very good. Also, Dwight was very helpful and patient with me during the process of selecting materials. Dwight was always available to answer questions and kept me informed of the work schedule. We're enjoying the new look of our home and we've received compliments from our friends and family. We would gladly hire West Georgia Design Build again.

A remodel that covers multiple rooms in the home and some outside work can be challenging for both the homeowner and the contractor. We were glad to take this on and it was very nice working for this member. She was very accomodating and easy to work with. We were able to break the project into a couple pieces so that she did not have to endure the whole project all at once. I look forward to the opportunity to work for her again. Thank you so much for the wonderful comments and review of our company.

Having never done a major house renovation, and having read the horror stories, we were keeping our fingers crossed. The men came in on the 1st day and started removing our flooring (200 sq. ft. of red brick) and tearing our cabinets out of the wall. Within 2 days our entire kitchen was gone! All we had left was a 200 sq. ft. empty room! From there they installed 12x12 tile, installed new baseboards, installed the cabinets and counters we had selected (Wellborn), added 3 1/2 foot on to an existing wall to stretch the kitchen out, installed new appliances we had purchased, replaced the aging window over the sink, removed the old, fluorescent overhead light and installed 5 recessed lights (beautiful) and a drop light over the sink, also a new light in the breakfast room and the living room. The gentlemen who did the work were friendly, personable and funny. At the beginning they told us it would take 3 weeks and it took 3 weeks to the day, and that included a few days over the holiday when we all took off. My wife and I are both retired, and I told her when we decided to redo the kitchen to make sure she got what she wanted, as we were only doing it once. When the men were done all she could do was stand in the middle of her new kitchen and say "WOW". Those who have seen it since work was completed are amazed at the difference in the room. We have even had other tradespeople come to our house since to do other jobs who have been taken aback when they first enter the kitchen. Some of the ideas we used in the kitchen were my wife's, but Dwight, the owner of this company, had many very creative and useful suggestions that we would definitely not have thought of. If you use Dwight for your remodel job tell him what you want, but keep your ears open to what he has to offer. We do not think you will be disappointed!
Description of Work: They completely removed our old kitchen (flooring, cabinets, sinks, everything) and built it back up from scratch. They installed tile, cabinets, sink, microwave, new lighting, window, backsplash, granite counters, added onto an existing wall, painted, new floorboards. They took us from a 1980's kitchen to a 2013 kitchen.

My first impression was very good. I thought Dwight Killmon had a reasonable price, product recommendations, and timetable. Issues arose during the installation that led to a good, but less than ideal, result. In some cases, this was the due to not giving me enough information and/or input into the look of the space. They worked hard to make it right, but some things cannot be undone. I'll have to think long and hard about hiring them again. Everything I am unhappy about could be corrected next time, but I would have to supervise the work to a degree that might frustrate all of us. The job started on time, and the guys were careful with the demo work, putting tarps everywhere and vacuuming up afterwards. I had taped up plastic sheeting between the ensuite bath and master bedroom to protect the sleeping area. This was not suggested by WGDB, but should have been. There was a coating of white dust everywhere that is harmful to a homeowner's lungs. Remodelers need to understand that even if they choose to tolerate the lung pollution during the day, the homeowner lives there. Later in the job, the dust was still all over. Dwight's response was that he usually advises homeowners to clean their air filters after the job; this is not sufficient. So if you hire WGDB, insist on containing the job site throughout the process. As the job progressed, the drop cloths disappeared. Dwight said he didn't need them. Ok, they weren't dragging shower stall pieces down the stairs, but they were tromping up and down the stairs countless times as the tile was being taken outside to be cut to fit. Did no one think this might track dirt inside the house? I'm sure they were tired of making the trip up and down; I got tired of vacuuming up after them. And now our hardwood floor in the foyer is scuffed up, so there is more work for us to do in the atermath. Am I too picky? The following week we had a new HVAC system installed, and the guys put protective covers on their feet just to come inside; that is the kind of respect for our property we should receive from all workmen. If you hire WGDB, insist on drop cloths throughout the job. The finished job looks pretty good, just not as good as it could have. I had to ask for corrections along the way, which, to their credit, they did not argue about. The daily workers were polite and responsive. But some products were late in arriving, which put us out of our master bath for a whole month instead of the week + a day projected, and several other projects of ours had to be postponed. Not all of this was WGDB's fault, but better follow-up could have prevented some of it (like making sure there was enough tile to cover the shower floor, that the shower door order was received by the manufacturer, and checking the rough-in measurement for the toilet before the last minute). Communication/responsiveness was both good and bad. Sometimes Dwight responded right away, sometimes he missed, ignored or didn't not adequately respond, such as: --When I e-mailed specifically to order the Cadet Pro toilet if it were available in a 1.6 gallon capacity, saying if not, we should go with the Cadet 3. He brought the Pro with a 1.28 capacity - which I let him install rather than having another delay finishing up the job. --When I asked for info on cleaning/maintaining the tile and grout I was told to check a website; and to clean up the sealer that he didn't wipe completely off of the wall tiles, I was told to go shop for a sealer-release product. Ok, I found one, but it said to reseal the grout after use. That's not my job! --I wish I had known we could have had the "ShowerGuard" protective coating on the shower door. Dwight asked if we wanted to upgrade to Cardinal's C-10 proprietary protection, and when we declined, we were not offered the less expensive ShowerGuard alternative. The name of this company is West Georgia DESIGN Build. I expected them to know that tiles should be randomized for the best appearance, but they were not. Two examples. (1) I noticed as the shower wall tiles were going in that they had placed two side by side that matched. That ruins the illusion that the marble-look porcelain tiles are actually marble. I pointed this out, and yet the next row again has two identical tiles together. (2) The expensive real marble herringbone-pattern floor tiles have light, dark, and mid-tone pieces in every section so they can be randomized. But that's not how Dwight installed them. My husband asked, "Were all the dark pieces put together intentionally? To make the center look wet, or something?" I just shook my head. Nope. The expensive marble tiles are not so beautiful after all. Two other design issues: (1) The niche. When I first saw it, the grout was already set, and the internal grout "lines" were 3/4" wide! What? We had agreed on thin lines throughout. It looked awful to me. To their credit, the guys spent a lot of effort grinding out the grout and cutting tile pieces to insert to make all of the grout lines uniform (except some around the outside which are too thick, but there is nothing to be done about that). The explanation was that bullnose tiles are not the same width as the niche is deep. Ok, shouldn't they have a solution to make it look good? I wouldn't have agreed to a niche at all if I'd known it would be an eyesore. (Photo) (2) While all of this re-doing of the shower tile was taking place, there was no protection on the newly laid and grouted - but not yet sealed - bathroom floor. So workers' dirty boots and spills happened, spoiling the perfection of the initial job. I pointed this out to Dwight, who, to his credit, worked hard to dig out the worst stain and re-grout it. I had pointed out other areas that were "not as bad, not as glaring," but he ignored those. Nor did he adequately clean up the sealer residue from the shower on the wall tiles or the floor. See photo of Dwight's bootprint on the patch of floor he re-sealed, but did not clean before leaving. (Photo) So I cannot fully enjoy the new shower until I find a way to clean the dried sealer, and there are some elements that I don't find attractive, like the "wet look" of the shower floor - or the exposed brass bolts on the toilet that Dwight decided were better without telling me the matching bolt covers would not fit. It's a small thing, but it doesn't look good and it is harder to clean. It's not his house; it shouldn't be his decision. Contractors need to understand that even if they are not making a ton of money from each job, each job represents the homeowner's savings for years - money once spent, it's not available to do over. We live with the results of them having a bad day/week. if you hire WGDB, insist on seeing each element before it becomes permanent, insist on floor protection until the job is finished, and go over every inch to make sure all reside is cleaned up before handing over the final check.
Description of Work: We hired West Georgia Design Build to update the shower and floor in the Master Bath. We selected WGDB based upon Angie's List reviews and an initial consultation at our home, having gotten other estimates in the past. Materials included floor and wall tile from DalTile and a shower door by Cardinal. ******* I wish to thank WGDB for responding to my review. I stand corrected that the ShowerGuard was the less expensive option, so of course Dwight would not have mentioned it. It is also correct that I knew there would be a delay while the shower door was ordered to the exact size needed; I was referring to the total number of days Dwight estimated they would be at the house. When Matt dry-fitted the shower floor tile earlier, and discovered not enough had been ordered, the dark tiles were distributed more evenly. Maybe the new tiles had too many dark pieces and that changed the overall look to one that is not as pleasing. This tile is not readily available in the States yet, so perhaps DalTile should stock more to assure a good color distribution on each job. P. S. One shower door almost toppled in on my husband this morning (March 19th, a month after installation). There was a screw loose on the bottom track support. *******

Response from D & S Design Build Inc
The member was always very nice and we appreciate the opportunity to work for her. However, I feel that a few clarifiying remarks are necessary from our point of view on her review. 1.) How much is taped off is always up to the customer. We do as much as we can to protect a customers home within reason. The truth is no matter how much you tape off, it will still get dusty in your home. She chose to tape off more which is fine. That does not mean that the amount we did was wrong in what we did for her. I suggested the air filter be changed afterward as an extra precaution for her and not as an alternative to provided protection in her home. I don't want the customer to wait and just change the filter as part of normal home maintenance. It will need done when we are finished, for their wellbeing. I never insisted on not using the drop cloths. I stated on the second to last visit that they were not necessary because we were just sealing the floor and cleaning. No dirty work was taking place that visit. The hardwood foyer was scuffed prior to our beginning work and was not solely due to the traffic we generated in her home. 2.) I never promised the member a week and a day on her job. My statement was that total business work days would be about 7-12 business days but the reality is that there would be days where things did not occur in between. I gave her the example of the shower door which cannot be ordered till tile is in place. It takes a week to arrive. So some delay would occurr in between work days. Then we had some material delays which made it take longer. 3.) We did have some miscommunication with our shower door manufacturer and the tile order. These were corrected as quickly as they were found and Member was notified immediately as well. 4.) The member's new toilet would not fit and we found that when her house was originally built, her plumbing had been set at 11.5 inches instead of 12 inches. We did not catch this when the estimate was prepared so a standard set toilet was ordered. I quickly got with her and arranged for a new toilet to be ordered. We did have to change what toilet we could order as her first choice did not come in a 10 inch rough configuration. There are less toilet choices available in the smaller plumbing slot. I provided her with several models and informed her that some were 1.28 gallons per flush and some were 1.6 gallons per flush and she could just tell me which one she wants and we would get it ASAP. She used a website, both for the first choice and subsequent choice, to look at toilet reviews prior to giving me a model choice. I assumed when she chose this toilet that she noticed it was 1.28 gallons per flush and only came in that choice. I had informed her upfront that I was giving her both types of toilets as choices. 5.) I informed the member on how to maintain the grout, tile, and sealer. I then gave her the website to check for anything I may have missed saying and also so she would have it for future reference. I never told the member to clean up after me on the grout sealer on the walls. What I told her was that it looked to me like I got the walls clean and I did not see anymore sealer marks on the tile. If, later on, she saw a sealer mark, I wanted her to know how she could get it removed, so I let her know how she could do that. I would never ask a customer to clean up after me while still on the job. 6.) I have informed her a couple of times about the types of shower door protection and even in her review, it is still incorrect. I always make my customers aware of C10, it is the lesser cost shower door protective coating. Shower guard is the more expensive option. Given that she was very tight with money and options from the beginning, I knew that shower guard was already over our budget but offered her C10 because it could have fit. 7.) The shower floor tile comes in a 12x12 shower mat and can only be laid in 2 directions. I may have been able to move a couple of 12x12 pieces but it did not improve the look. It was better looking in the layout that I have it now. I could have turned the tile but it would have necessitated all the others be rotated as well which then puts the natural dark stone back together. Natural stone has varying degrees of dark and light even within the same color choice. There is nothing we can do to change that . We can only do our part to do a layout with what we have, install correctly, and seal it so that it will last for our customer, like we did for the member. 8.) The grout line in the niche at the back was 1/2 inch. I offered the explanation on the niche not as an excuse for the way it looked but simply as an explanation of what had occurred and that it would be corrected. She was correct, the lines should be uniform. I apologized and made sure we fixed it right away. 9.) I did not ignore any grout repairs that needed to be done. I repaired the one spot, as she states in her review but I also cleaned all the other minor spots until they were uniform and then resealed all the spots again prior to leaving. I honestly did not see the bootprint that she shows in the picture. If I had, it would have been addressed. Apparently she did not see it either, because we looked over the bathroom together before I left and I got her approval of the finished product. As I said in the beginning, we really did like working for the member. She was nice and we appreciate her business. I hope that my comments will help provide a fuller view or perspective of things. I realize we are imperfect, we make mistakes and things happen beyond our control, as has occurred at the member's home. I hope that whomever reads this review will take it along with all the positive reviews below it and see that we at West Georgia Design Build really do take good care of our customers, We provide quality products at reasonable prices and provide a good experience for our customers. Thank you and we look forward to serving your needs soon.

I initially contacted Dwight in October 2012 for a quote on the repairs. His partner, Ron, came over to take a look at the damage. Ron provided us with an estimate for the insurance claim, using the same software that our insurance company uses. This detailed estimate made it very easy to get the work covered by the insurance company. Other contractors had provided quotes that were far less detailed, which was one reason for our decision to go with West Georgia. Ron was out of town for a while, so it took longer than expected to get the contract. However, after signing the contract, the work was scheduled to begin the first week in November. Ron arranged for his carpet supplier to come to us with samples, which made the process of selecting carpet and pad very painless. While the work was being done, my wife had surgery and was diagnosed with cancer, requiring me to spend a significant amount of time at the hospital. Upon hearing about my wife's illness, Danny Odom, who appeared to be in charge of the work crew, stepped up and became my main contact with the company for the duration of the repairs. I can't overstate how helpful Danny was. My mother was able to stay at my house most days while they worked, but that was not going to work out one day when they needed to work on the repairs. By this point, I trusted Danny and the crew enough, that I just left them a key so they could work while nobody was home. The work was done as planned, and there were no problems with damage or theft while they were there alone. While my wife was in the hospital, Danny gave me his cell number and told me to call him with any questions or concerns, or if they could do anything to help me. He even came by on his way home from another work site one day, to help move some furniture that we were unable to move with my wife recovering from surgery. Danny is West Georgia's best asset in my opinion. He went far beyond what was required, which was greatly appreciated, especially during a very difficult time for my family. I was also very impressed with the quality of their work. They were very careful in moving my furniture, and the house looked great after the repairs were done. The tile work and refinishing of the baseboards in the bathroom looked great, as did the carpet and paint work. They did an excellent job of matching the existing paint on adjacent walls, etc. I would definitely recommend West Georgia, and I will call them again for any future remodeling. I could probably have had this work done cheaper, but I doubt that it would have gone as well.
Description of Work: They repaired damage from a water leak in the bathroom. This included replacing some subfloor and insulation, replacing some vapor barrier in the crawlspace, painting the hallway and three rooms, replacing carpet and pad in most of the house, and tiling the bathroom floor. They also moved a phone jack, installed a ceiling fan, and fixed a squeak in the subfloor while they were here.

I worked with Dwight from WGDB. He was consistently ontime for pre-renovation appointments, and after work began, he responded promptly to any requests for information or modification of work. Dwight was really good about cleaning up at the end of the work day. I had one issue with some of the younger guys leaving the jobsite without cleaning up, but this issue was rectified fairly quickly. Generally, the work was very good. At the outset, Dwight worked with me to get the original estimate down to an amount I could afford, but I added to the scope of work and wound up with an $18,000 renovation. The framing and the tile work were nicely done. The contractor was working with a small area and had a bit of a problem tiling the bathtub deck. Dwight did a good job in rectifying this, and I was satisfied with the final look. Thanks to West Georgia Design Build, I now have an expanded and modern master bath with updated fixtures. I plan to use this contractor in the future for a bathroom renovation or other construction work.
Description of Work: This contractor remodeled my bathroom including replacing the tiled floor, vanity, bathtub, and added a shower and painted the entire area. I also added expansion of the closet to the scope of work.

The entire process from bid to completion was seamless. We received three bids on the project and chose West Georgia Design. They were responsive during the bid process and worked out a final contract to our satisfaction. The project proceeded on schedule with no significant down time although it took a little longer than expected. The work quality was excellent and the crew professional and courtesy. In addition to the general remodeling work the project included significant plumbing and electrical work. The plumber and electrician were excellent and took time to address our concerns and explain building code, etc.
Description of Work: Complete master bath and walk-in closet remodel and laundry room expansion.

Dwight and his team were excellent!!! Everyone did their "part" and did it well..came in a timely fashion..Dwight was always available to answer questions via email or by phone..if you left him a message he would get back to you as soon as he was able to and most of the time it was pretty quick...Dwight and his team were very professional about getting the job done..everyone was very pleasant to work with!! Dwight went with my husband and I to Atlanta to a warehouse to pick out our granite and tile and also assisted us in choosing our appliances...I should mention that he was very patient with us as we took our time deciding on our granite and tile...we were unhappy with the refrigerator that we had chosen after it had been delivered to us and he swapped it out for us with no problem at all...we were very pleased with him and all the work that was done in our kitchen and would certainly recommend him to anyone! We are so happy with the work that was done!!! We love our updated kitchen!!!! Thanks Dwight :)
Description of Work: Dwight helped us plan our kitchen upgrade. He installed new granite counter top, a new tile backsplash, recessed lighting, a new farmhouse sink, new faucet, new garbage disposal, and he helped us select and install new appliances. He also repainted our kitchen and breakfast area.

The old kitchen was tired and had aged, was small and difficult to work in. So Dwight Kilmon from West Georgia Design Build answered my query quickly, and came over to assess the situation. His initial visit lasted approx 3 hours, and he made suggestions about how to revamp the same footprint or do an expansion into the dining room. He brought product books with him so I could see all the possibilities of cabinets styles and layouts. Dwight was professional and not at all pushy....he struck me immediately as someone that could be trusted. As promised, he sent me an estimate within approx 3 days. It was at this point that I decided to expand the kitchen into the dining room area. After securing other estimates and talking with other remodelers, Dwight met me downtown near my place of employment (for my convenience) to show me a drawing of how he viewed the expansion, and he returned to the house one more time to take final measurements and answer a few questions. Again, he was never pushy or anxious to have me commit. That evening I signed on the dotted line. The work began July 3rd and was completed on August 6th. Dwight was open and honest through every step of the process, and he never left me in the dark about any part of the project. He prepared me fully for how disruptive the remodeling process could be, and provided me with an approximate schedule of when each milestone would be reached. Again at my convenience, we visited a granite showroom to select my slabs where he gave me his point of view in how the different colors would look against the cabinets I had selected, as well as the price points of the various types. He came prepared with a sample of the cabinet color which helped immensely. That same day he also helped me select my backsplash tile and plumbing fixtures. He provided me with guidance about appliances, and all I had to do was give him the model numbers of those i wanted, and he secured them, as well as all the lighting fixtures and cabinet hardware i had selected. Dwight and his team are incredibly trustworthy, and I highly recommend them to anyone seeking remodeling services. There was never an instant where I did not trust him in my house without me. They were neat, respectful, and always where they said they would be. They were also careful of my 2 kittens, who of course were a little freaked that strange people were in their house! The work was done carefully and meticulously....and on time. I feel like they built my kitchen just as they would their own. I could not be happier with how the kitchen turned out ! It is beautiful !!!
Description of Work: Total kitchen expansion and remodel: gut of existing kitchen, removal of wall between old kitchen and dining room; redesign of entire room; new cabinets, hardware, electrical, plumbing, appliances, tilework, conversion of electric range to gas; new countertops (granite); painting, new lighting.

The member was very nice and I enjoyed meeting him and having the opportunity to bid work for him. We did not actually perform any work for the member other than to provide a bid price. I'm not sure why he has posted a rating of C on responsiveness. I informed him that I would provide a line item estimate in writing for him within 7-10 days from the date of my visit and that I would do it sooner if I could. He called me on day 5 wondering where the estimate was because he had not heard anything. So, I dropped the things I was working on at the time and quickly sent him an estimate anyway, even though I had more days to use in providing the estimate. So I feel like my responsiveness was on or above target with what I said I would provide. I wish the member well and hope his project turns out well for his home.

.I bought a big deal from Angie's List, and it was a deal. I worked as a commercial interior designer for 20 yrs. and am accustomed to dealing with building trades. The price for the work done was excellent. Dwight Killmon, the owner of the company is knowledgeable and easy to work with. The materials installed are of good quality. I would hire them again.

Before the job was scheduled, Dwight was very good keeping in touch regarding the possible time slots for the work. He had sold several of these Big Deals so he was getting the jobs scheduled to suit each homeowners' schedule. We decided to start our job after our vacation in late May.Dwight and Shelby arrived on a rainy Monday to start the demolition of the original bathroom. It was a full day of banging and surprises of how this bath was constructed. There was an excess of concrete so they were covered with concrete dust. They discovered some termite damage so there was a 1 day delay for the pest company to treat the area before proceeding. Dwight and his crew removed the infested wood and replaced the studs with pressure treated wood. The electrical and plumbing men came out next to install new lighting and ventilation fixtures, and new plumbing connections. The sheetrock was installed and mudded by Lawrence. He was very professional, and took great care to minimize dust in the rest of the house by using a plastic barrier hung in the doorway. Dwight and Shelby did most of the rest of the work, setting the gray board, sealing that surface, laying the bath surround tile, floor leveling, installing floor tile, installing vanity, toilet, sink, and fixtures. At all stages I was consulted as to placement of items. Most days, Dwight or Shelby were workers on site. Dwight "cross-trains" his crews so each fellow can step in on most stages of the work. The electrician and plumbers are pretty dedicated to those jobs.Dwight was in daily and hourly contact with his crew if he wasn't on site himself. He is very concerned with the homeowner's satisfaction with the progress of the work and answered all my questions with good explanations of the how and why of the work done.I am entirely pleased with our new bathroom. It is so nice to have beautiful new fixtures, and a "new look."I highly recommend this company for bath remodels. I may have them rebuild our deck next year.
Description of Work: I purchased a "Big Deal" through Angie's List for a complete remodel of a 5' x8' bathroom. Dwight Killmon (owner) and I met and decided on the materials to be used in the remodel. I was very pleased with his concern for my comfort with the choices and alternatives offered.Due to schedules, the job didn't start until the 1st week of June. This job was one of the last to be started but that was a good thing all in all.Dwight and his crew took about 3 weeks to totally gut, rebuild, tile, plumb and install all the fixtures. The entire team was polite, professional, tidy, pleasant and a joy to have around.

Dwight the owner was professional, always on time or easy to contact. I went with this company over 3 others because of the impression I got at our first meeting. Their bid was not the lowest or highest but the responsiveness and professionalism sold Dwight and his company. We had several things done as renovation work. During all but the initial estimate and walk through, I was an absent owner in that I am military stationed in another state. Dwight emailed me the estimate and we coo responded by email or phone through most of the renovation. I checked on the house a few times over several months and did a semi-final walk through. Dwight worked with me and a neighbor to ensure it turned out the way we wanted. I also met several of his crew on one visit and was very impressed by them as well. The renovation took several months but as we were out of state it didn't matter. All the work was completed on the timeline we established and looks fantastic. I would definitely recommend Dwight and West Georgia Design Build for any project or renovation work you need and will call him again when I get ready for more work. One note I want to mention on contact with Dwight. On several occasions I sent him emails or called after normal hours and he always answered or responded quickly. That says something about him and his company.
Description of Work: We had several things done as renovation work. We converted a large screened porch into a year round sunroom, added a bathroom to a finished bonus room, had a bench installed in the corner of our breakfast nook, and repainted a large portion of the interior.
