They committed to arrive between 8a.m. -12 noon At 11 a.m. I called to see when the technician would be here. "He has been delayed but is on his way." At 12:15 p.m. I called again. "We are sending another serviceman because the first one is still tied up." The actual repairmen (2) arrived at 2:45 p.m. I had cancelled work for the half day, and then had to cancel the rest of the day because the repairman did not show up for the scheduled appointment. They guys who came were very friendly and well-trained. They did what should have been done that morning.

Nice service guy, pretty routine visit. HOWEVER, we do have a whole-house Aprilaire humidifier and I would have appreciated him ensuring that was working, maybe offered to replace filter, etc. (for addl. fee, of course). This was our first winter at this home and I did not think to request they look at this (again, would hope they would be looking for such).

I was quoted an arrival window between 1-5:00 pm. The technician Marshall arrived promptly at 1:15. He was courteous, professional, and expedient. He did did a fantastic job and was very thorough at explaining all we needed to know about our new water heater! I would definitely be using Henson Mechanical for future plumbing and HVAC neds! The tech was due between 8 am & noon. Called ahead at 11:30 as promised to let us know he'd arrive in 15 minutes. Put on booties before entering. Said hello to our cats. We used our Angies List discount coupon for the service fee & paid for parts and labor. He was pleasant and efficient. Honored the discount coupon to check our other unit downstairs. Found a part that was worn and several years past its expected life. We authorized him to replace that part, too. He was professional and pleasant and explained everything to us.
Description of Work: Checked upstairs furnace as pilot light had gone out & we had no heat. Installed new pressure switch. Installed new igniter in downstairs furnace.

Responsiveness was great. Repair was successful, but resulted in a leak that caused water damage to the ceiling and walls of the space directly beneath where the unit sits in the attic. The company covered all expenses associated with the damage.

Badly considering I gave them a second chance to rectify the situation. They claimed when they came out to service the unit they told me I had a bad leak ect and quoted fixing it. Well I hired them to service the unit and advise if anything was wrong with it. They said it was low on freon and frozen so he defrosted the unit and they filled it back up ect. Well a few weeks later the unit leaked until the ceiling fell through. I called them out and they said the evaporator coil needed replacement and he claimed the previous worker he was sure told me that. I said so by the leak you would have known this would happen if not fixed. He said yes so I asked him did he think I would call for service and if explained something as serious and costly as that would occur I would decline them to fix when that Is why I called in the first place. I explained I was told there was a leak and it was frozen so he defrosted and filled back up w freon. That to me means it was fixed not there is a much more severe problem that will occur. I asked for the service ticket the first guy would have filled out as he claimed it was and he said he would gladly send to prove the diagnosis. It was never sent and I don't expect it will be. I had to pay for another 2 companies to come out. One to fix ceiling and hole and the other to clean and paint. I still have to get the evap coil replaced as I thought Henson Mechanical would see that there was no accurate original diagnosis as claimed and do the right thing but no call to date.

My heat stopped working on Saturday, 11/ 15 and I suspected the issue was due to a faulty thermostat. I called Henson on Monday and scheduled an appointment for Tuesday between 8 am and noon on 11/18/14. I mentioned to the scheduler that I had seen a $29.00 Angie's list service special. She advised me that i needed to purchase the deal online. I told her I would go online and book the appointment but I thought she said she would notate the appointment at the $29.00 rate and not to bother purchasing it online. Jeremy called to advise that he was enroute approximately 25 minutes prior to his arrival. He confirmed that it was indeed the thermostat after doing a check of both the thermostat and the unit. Jeremy was very nice and was patient about explaining how the system works and and explained the basic programming of the thermostat. I was so pleased with his service that I ended up purchasing a 1 year service plan. The only issue was the service charge which was $79.00 and not $29.00. I didn't bother mentioning that to Jeremy because he was not privy to the conversation with the scheduler and clearly he wasn't advised in advance of the $29.00 rate. I should have booked it myself on Angies list to ensure the discount.

I called in the morning and made an appointment for the following afternoon. They initially led me to believe I had a specific appointment time. After they missed the initial appointment time, I tried calling but got no answer. They finally called 3 hours after the original appointment time and said they were running late. When I asked about the time, they responded that it had been a miscommunication and they actually only did 4-hour appointment windows, so I had really been scheduled for 1-5pm. I felt as though the woman I spoke with was unmoved by the fact that not only had they misled me, but that they would also be arriving at dinnertime/ bedtime for my kids. I asked how they would make it up to me and she said that they were busy and didn't feel as though it was something they needed to do anything about. At 5pm I called and they said it would be another hour. The tech called at 5:30 and said he'd be there at 6:30. He arrived at 7:15. Once the tech arrived, he was very polite. He obviously had not been relayed any of the details that the original woman I spoke with had asked (which is fine, but I'm not sure why I had to answer so many detailed questions if they weren't going to give him the same information). He was able to diagnose our issue very quickly (critter had gotten to our wires) and gave us a reasonable quote for fixing the issue. He was unwilling to waiver the diagnostic fee on account of his extreme tardiness, claiming it wasn't something he was allowed to do. He did get us all fixed up very quickly and was done within an hour and a half. All-in-all, the gentleman did a fine job diagnosing and fixing the issue. But their customer service greatly leaves something to be desired. I'm willing to give them a second chance due to this man's professionalism, knowledge and efficiency, but I would encourage the business to do a better job communicating internally and perhaps scheduling fewer appointments during a busy season so that they are able to actually meet their promises. I would also suggest creating official processes for handling situations where you are not able to meet your promises - discounts on current or future services, perhaps, would be a good place to start. Taking a few dollars off my bill now would make me a lot more comfortable going through them again. Things happen and come up unexpectedly, regardless of industry. It's how you respond to issues that defines you.

all went well and was happy with the results as stated in the previous question.no problems and would be very happy to use them again also said that they did plumbing. plan to use them to install a new garbage disposal when ready.
Description of Work: serviceman replaced it bad part on our furnace unit in the attic.On one of the first coldest days of November our furnace went out. Checked on Angie's List to get a repair person.it happened to be a Sunday and we were all freezing. Called Hennson Mechanical and they were out in an hour. Was able to get the furnace running. the unit needed a part and the service man said he would get it as quickly as possible.he was back out on the following day with part in hand.he install the parts quickly and was was finished in no time.he was neat, clean and very efficient. Everything seems to be working fine. Purchase the service agreement has recommended.

Tech check the air conditioning system and said it was low on freon and added 2 pounds of R22. Checked again and said it needed more and added another 2 pounds for a total of 4 pounds. Because of a service contract that we had paid for the service was free and the freon was discounted from $100 a pound to $75 a pound. EPA rule state that a tech can not add more than 2 pounds of freon to a system without a leak repair. The tech violated this EPA rule and should be fired or disciplined. Charged $312.00 for four pounds of R22 freon at $75.00 a pound, which can be purchased of Ebay for $20.00 a pound. Whole thing was a ripoff and I did not renew the service contract. I called ask to speak to the owner about this and the lady said he was not available but he would return my call on Monday. I never receive a call from the owner and therefore I will never recommend this company. Gil Winders III

On March 11, 2014 my furnace stopped working. I had noticed a new company on Loganville Hwy, over the past few months and I thought I would give them an opportunity to gain a new customer. I went to the office and they were surprised, as they are not set up to deal with walk-ins. They treated me very courteously and the Dispatcher made an appointment for the following day. The serviceman called before coming as I had requested and arrived at about the time he was scheduled. I explained the problem and showed him to the furnace in the attic. He and his helper were there for about a half hour and he told me that the Logic Board was bad and needed to be replaced. He quoted me a price of $449.00. I had told him the furnace was about 20 years old and we discussed a new furnace. He went out to his truck and was there about 15 min. He came in and told me he had someone who could replace the furnace that afternoon for $1,799.00. I asked the brand and he told me Lux-Aire. He also said the company installed Amana and they could do that the next day for $1,699.00. I told him I would consider it and that I thought I could get a discount through the company from which I was retired. I called someone I used to work with, who is licensed in HVAC and asked him what he thought. He got the information on the furnace and said he would check for me. He found the board available at a supplier in Lawrenceville at a cost of $89.00 plus tax. We purchased and installed the board but the furnace still did not work. He found s bad safety switch on the door into the furnace. That repairs were made and the furnace now works well. This was about a $5.00 switch and $20.00 labor. I went to the Henson site and answered the survey that I was dissatisfied on Saturday March 15. I received a call from a gentleman from Henson who assured me that he would check on this and call me back on Monday Mar. 17. He did not call. I leave a judgment of this experience up to you. I will certainly not be a customer of this company in the future. I waited a full month to hear from them and filed a com-plaint with the BBB. I still have heard nothing.

Brian was very nice and honest with me. He changed a capacitator on my heat pump for the basement at a good price. They offered me an annual maintenance contract for $200, including a spring and a fall trip.
