It turned out fine. They came out very quickly. There were additional charges. they sold me a service for plumbing, electrical and AC. They were able to take care of the matter and I had a few other things since I had just purchased the house so I had anticipated there being more expensive. We decided to purchase an annual discount. I would recommend them.

The technician came out promptly as scheduled. The company even calls to tell you the technician is on the way. They provide a name so you know who's coming as well. He checked my system. Saw what the problem was and advised me of the cost for repairing it. As it is entering the HOT days of Summer it needed to be repaired. I asked when he would be back to repair it and he told me he would take care of it the same day. I signed the estimate of cost for parts and labor. He fixed the problem, received the company's payment and left me in a cool environment. I can't thank him enough! I HATE THE HEAT....and he made it so I didn't have to feel it at all. He also made some recommendations based on his inspection of the units for upstairs and downstairs. I appreciated that because most companies would have seen problems or potential problems and waited until it stop working so they could be called out to repair it. My philosophy can be applied to Snappy...maintenance is always better than overhaul. THANKS SNAPPY!!!!
Description of Work: I purchased a tune-up coupon online. I called and scheduled it. It was a week out from when I called. I wasn't real happy about that because my central air unit wasn't working but didn't kick up a fuss. The company called back later in the week and apologized because the tech was double booked and they wanted to reschedule. At that time I mentioned the ac not working...the young lady on the phone said...oh I didn't know...let me see if I can get someone out sooner. She was able to and I was GRATEFUL!!!!

Terrible. I saw the other reviews about this company having bad overall pricing and man they were right!!! I figured I would give them a shot anyways but not this time Adam or Brian. I tried to work it out with them but we were unable to do business. I thought at least being a first time customer they would be willing to earn my business my that is clearly not the case. TRUST ME! SKIP THESE GUYS and don't waste your time! NEXTTTTTTT.

While we appreciate the opportunity at earning your business, it was obvious we were not the right company for you. When we spoke on the phone while my technician was on site you said that a 2 hour repair should be no more than $100??? This included parts, labor, same day service, lifetime warranties??? Unfortunately at those prices we would not stay in business long enough to honor our warranties or receive repeat business. I wanted to work with you but you already had a set price in mind and it was extremely too low. I also did not appreciate you trying to hold a bad AL report over my head to try and get me to do the work at the price you thought was fair. I informed you that you could get a full refund on the coupon you purchased as it may be a wise idea in the future to price work before purchasing them from any company. Our company is based on great customer service warranties and fair market pricing. This means we price our services at a rate where we can hire the best technicians in their respective trades and compensate them for being such. All of our employees go through rigorous background checks and drug screening for our customer’s protection. I assure you if you take price quotes from the competing service companies in each of the 3 trades that hire these type professionals you will see our pricing is in line. If you do not care who comes in your home and are only looking for the cheapest price good luck on your experience! It is these contractors that drive consumers to companies like Snappy and our competitors because of bad experiences on workmanship, customer service, warranties, and even equipment and/or property damage from using the low price provider. We do not claim to be the cheapest and we are not the most expensive but price our service to be competitive with companies that offer the same warranties, workmanship and hiring requirements as us. We have been in business for over 8 years and take our reputation seriously, as repeat business between our 3 offered trades accounts for almost 60% of our annual revenue. Thanks again for the opportunity to earn your business. ~Adam Bunyard/General Manager~

The contractor was professional, but made many snap decisions without any diagnostics to base the recommendations upon. I was told before they arrived that they covered any in warranty parts for Goodman heat pumps, but when I told him the unit was one year old and under warranty, he had to call his boss for authorization, and acted like he was doing me a favor replacing the part under warranty. The contractor also told me that my interior coils needed to be replaced, but never performed any diagnostics upon which to base that recommendation. The contractor recommended that I replace R-22 refrigerant in my units. He couldn't tell me how much I needed to add, although he hooked up diagnostics to my units to measure my levels. When I asked how much was needed, he told me he couldn't be for sure. I asked how much R-22 is per pound, he said they don't charge based on actual pounds added to the unit, just a flat fee regardless if they add 1 lb or 10! The flat fee was more than $300 per unit. I told him I was not interested in getting them recharged at this service, but he still wrote up a sales order with those items on the sales order. This is a sales tactic that I do not appreciate.

The Snappy techician was extremely professional. He arrived within timeframe scheduled. He laid protective padding now to ensure hardwood floors were not scratched. Once new ceiling fan was installed he ensured it worked properly and asked me if I had any questions. Then he cleaned up after himself and even moved old ceiling fan to crawl space so it was not in my way.

We are extremely sorry about running behind; I see we called you 3 times to keep you posted of his arrival time. We try our best to stay on schedule but sometimes the techs get tied up on other service calls and it is unavoidable. The cost to install the fixture included the trip charge and each additional fixture would have been under $100. However you only had one fixture, keep in mind that more goes into pricing than just labor, there are many other factors in pricing like benefits for licensed tradesman(insurance, vacation time, 401k), administration salaries, rising fuel costs, utilizes, workman’s comp, vehicle payments, vehicle repairs, etc. etc. As a matter of fact it cost the average service company $80-$100 just to get to the door with marketing, labor and gas alone. I will say that we are neither the highest nor the cheapest when it comes to pricing but rely on Customer Service, Lifetime Warranties, and convenience of 3 trades under one roof, and great employs to showcase the value in our prices. I feel we let you down in the customer service area by running that far behind and hope we can get a second chance at your business down the road. Feel free to give me a call to discuss if you would like. ~ Adam Bunyard/ General Manager~

When the tech arrived at the appointed time he made it very clear that a) he was there to assess the job and figure out what would be required so as to come back at a later time to do the work b) the paperwork he was given to describe the job was "check duct" c) there was a $70 "diagnostic fee" that would come out of the $150 worth of services i thought I had purchased even though I had completely diagnosed the service required in advance d) he was very interested in us signing up for a 4 year service agreement. What i felt should have been a relatively simple job (2 hours) was quoted to us at $455 on top of the $70 diagnostic fee. He would have to leave and spend more time procuring materials that i would have expected to stocked on a normal service van. The pressure was put on us to sign up for a long term service agreement on our two zone HVAC system in order to get "value rate" discounts on the work I needed done. In the end I was convinced the the Big Deal was used as a ploy to get into poeple houses and sell them on service agreements. All the money I had spent on the deal was consumed by the diagnostic fee with only have the coupon value remaining for services. I felt there was plenty of information provided so that the job could be done on the first visit.. Rather than waste another $475 on this company i decided to do the work myself...I spent $15 on materials and completed it in 2 hours. I will not be calling them for any services in the future.
Description of Work: I purchased the Angie's List Big Deal that was adverstized as "$75 for $150 in Plumbing, Electric, or HVAC Services!". Prior to purchasing I called to ask if the job I needed would be covered by this deal and was assured it would be. After purchasing the deal I called to schedule the service. The job I needed done was to install a new HVAC supply register at a location that already had the supply duct run in the crawl space below to the location. I provided very precise detail that all I need was cutting in the opening in the wood floor, installing the supply boot, and connecting the previously run flex duct. I provided plenty of detail and madeit clear that the materials should be procured in advance (very standard and stock materials) so the work can be done on the first visit.

Thanks for the service request, however some of this information is incorrect. First we do not even have a 4 year service plan the only option is one year at a time so that you are not locked into our company if you are not happy with our services, however we have an 78% renewal rate which well above the national average. We also offer monthly direct debit for the service agreement which may be where the confusion came from? We spoke with your wife so the information may not have been relayed correctly? For this very reason we never provide quotes over the phone because customers do not always have or know all the correct information and building codes for Electrical, Plumbing, or HVAC installations. In your case air flow can have a direct effect on the life and efficiency of your equipment if not sized and installed correctly to retro fit the existing ductwork installation. What may have been the misunderstanding is that the coupon could be applied to the work requested but at no time could one of the ladies in the call center correctly price an installation. Lastly the cost to install the duct work also included cutting the floor and was well in reason for the work required. We do not have the coupons to get our technicians in the door to perform a bait and switch; in fact we are one of the few firms in town that do not employ salesman for heating & air equipment. The coupon is designed to be purchased by our Angies List customers after we have come out to look at the job and provide pricing. I appreciate the opportunity to earn your business as well as the review; if you feel you need to discuss further please give me a call. ~Adam Bunyard/General Manager~

Thanks for taking the time to post your experience with our company. We feel that C grade is unfair considering we did not perform the work and the pricing was more than fair as you would have only paid a little over $200 after applying the coupon. You must keep in mind we are a state licensed electrical contractor that provides Lifetime Warranties and in order to install the circuit we would have to install the wire in concealed walls behind sheetrock. This is no easy task when you have to avoid hidden obstructions in the wall that cannot be seen, installing in a manner that no sheetrock is damaged and then once complete the outlet looks as it had always been in place. However as you mentioned we did refund the coupon and your service representative was professional so we appreciate the opportunity at earning your business. We just felt the C rating was a bit harsh, but appreciate the feedback. ~Management~

I was anxious to get surge protectors installed as soon as the new central a/c unit had been installed following a power surge that had destroyed my old a/c unit. Snappy came out the same day as the installation, ie the day after I called them. When finished, Jodi explained how I would know if the breaker box whole house surge protection had been triggered and how to check the surge protector on the central a/c unit. I used a coupon and saved a lot on the actual cost. It's not often I am happy when a service tech comes to my house, but I was pleased with the work and the feeling I was not being ripped off.

There is no better satisfaction than being the contractor you remember in a good way vs. negative, especially if you have had bad experience in the past. In a large market like Atlanta there are hundreds of contractors to choose from and price is never the best deciding factor when choosing. We have built our company around customer service and although not perfect there are many procedures in place to get us as close as possible. I remember speaking with you on the phone about your situation and glad you had the opportunity to work with Jody. He has been here for over 8 years and continues to help us build a great customer base. I will pass along the great review and glad you were able to take advantage of our deals in place to save some $$$$ on your purchases. Placed a service call for what appeared to be a leaking toilet. What appealed to me most about Snappy was that they advertised three combined services: Electric, Plumbing and HVAC. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the company responded to my online coupon purchase, allowing me to schedule service the next morning. The technician came on time and I received confirmation email right up to the appointment ( a new experience for me, since usually other companies just sent some automated email which are marginally helpful). The technician was in uniform, professional and punctual. I even recognized the gentleman immediately, because of the progress email they had sent already had his photo, so that the customer was assured who to expect. This is IMHO a very smart customer service item, these days where everyone appreciates any extra security measures. He quickly determined that the leak was coming from another area and found that it was the water heater. Upon further investigation, he found the water pressure to be too high and found the main problem: a failed pressure reduction valve. The drain valve on the heater was already leaking for quite some time and had caused the dampness around the toilet. I was advised of all the potential damage caused by the unknown leak and he was very helpful and detailed in his explanation. He also completed a whole house plumbing inspection report and was very thorough in his work. I decided to sign up with their "Snappy Home Protection Plan", which was a no-brainer at this point. Overall, I can not think of another thing they could have done better, and the leak is gone and I have a good source to call upon on any house related problems in the future. Since I am taking care of multiple properties, a goto source of quality service is essential. If this plumbing service is any indication for the rest of their service offering, I feel confident this review is accurate and properly describes all of Snappy services.

Used this company last summer when they repaired my A/C, purchased service agreement and used their plumbing services to repair my sewer drain in the front yard a few months ago. Both service reps. were very friendly and professional, I received lifetime warranties for both repairs and I felt price was in reason. Had a leak in the garage on a Sunday morning last month, because of service agreement there was no service charge for weekends and they came out and made the repair. Again cost was in reason, being the 3rd service rep I had met and all were more than great I would def use this company again. I was suprised to talk with a live operator when I called in the service request being it was a Sunday morning. While plumber was on-site I was even able to schedule my spring A/C maintenance that was included with the service agreement i purchased last summer.

RESPONSE TO SERVICE PROVIDER RESPONSE - May 2013: Hi Adam, The technician did come to our home to do the service agreement plumbing inspection on our primary residence (not a rental, but also not relevant). He provided an in-person quote, so I'm not sure how there could have been any miscommunication. Here is the quote Snappy gave me: Water Heater $1375 Thermal Expansion Tank $129 Gas Shut-off and Drip Tee $232 Gate Valve on water heater $87 Pressure Reducing Valve $509 Total: $2332 In the end, I paid our new plumber $935 for this exact list of services. No, we did not have the exact same kind of tank installed, but we did compare features and pricing before deciding to go with a tank made by a different manufacturer, but with the same specs. We looked into buying a tank like the one your team offered, and your price still exceeded them by ~$400. Yes, we will continue with Snappy for the life of our service agreement because we paid for the year up front (not my smartest decision in hindsight). We will not be renewing -- my initial impression aside, I don't appreciate your response because it seems like you are attempting to discredit or discount my perspective on the experience even though there are several other reviewers who had a similar experience. I really value good service and wish that things could have worked out better. We wound up having fourteen recessed lights installed by another company in addition to all of the plumbing work. I would have much rather given that business to Snappy because 1) it would have been easier for me, and 2) your team was really nice. ________________________________________________________________ ORIGINAL REVIEW in April 2013: Both technicians that we worked with were very pleasant, professional, and nice. We will continue to use Snappy's service agreement, but we will be hard-pressed to have them do any of the actual work we need because of appears to be exorbinant pricing. The posititve note here is that they do appear willing to work with customers to bring quotes down, but we felt very "sold." Not a fan of having to negotiate the price every single time just to get to the competitive/fair price. Because of this experience, we now have little confidence in the prices they quote -- there is a certainty that 1) they're starting high with the hopes that we'll actually pay that amount, and that 2) if we take a little extra time collect additional quotes, Snappy will be out-priced SIGNIFICANTLY the majority of the time. Snappy quoted us close to $2500 which was their "Value Price" because we were now service agreement customers. We immediately sought out additional quotes and had the same work well done by a licensed Master Plumber for $935! We were immediately attracted to the new company because they not only post their prices on their website, when I called them, they were comfortable in quoting me a price right then over the phone. No "We'd need to see..." -- just a simple and accurate quote. Overall, it was a disappointing experience because, while every member of the Snappy team was nice and professional, I don't trust them now to give me a fair price on the first go-round.
Description of Work: We purchased the deal for $75 off of $150 worth of electrical services. We were looking to have an outlet converted from 220 to 110. We wound up signing up (and paying) for Snappy's Service Agreement -- for $149 per year, they'll provide bi-annual service/inspection of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. The price seems fine considering that's what we were paying (although in monthly installments) Estes to provide just HVAC services. We did have the electrician convert our outlet and they charged the "Value Price" of approx. $250. Looking back on a previous quote for the same work, we're 90% sure we overpaid, by a lot. We also requested quotes for Electrical work as well as the following Plumbing work: Installation of new 50 gal. water heater (and accompanying pieces, e.g., drip tee & shut off) Installation of Thermal Expansion Tank Installation of Pressure Reducing Valve

Thank you for the purchase of our service agreement, we are very disappointed in the report aside from the compliments to our staff. I have just sat with the service technician who quoted the plumbing and would like to say that our pricing is not flexible outside of member pricing for service agreement holders. I assume you are referring to the options in pricing in which was provided, not all recommendations were related to the water heater but rather items that were found during the plumbing inspection that we brought to your attention. The quoted water heater replacement was approx. $1300 which comes with a LIFETIME parts and labor warranty and all of the other task price where recommendations that did not pertain to the heater. (Pressure regulator for the house, drain repairs on a tub, gas line repair etc…) I know this was a rental property and believe all of the pricing was relayed over the phone; this could be the issue with the miscommunication in pricing. I am unable to speak for the other plumber or what he performed and the warranties associated with the repairs. I can only speak for our pricing structure which is competitive and based on a National Flat Rate System in which the majority of Atlanta Area Electric, Plumbing, Heating, and Air companies base their pricing from. We hope that we can earn your trust and future business over the life of your home protection plan and future maintenances on your Chamblee property. Thanks again for the business as well as the report! ~Adam Bunyard/General Manager~

I purchased two Big Deals from Angie's List for Snappy ($39 for $150 worth of services). I needed to have a vanity replaced in my downstairs guest bathroom. I also wanted to have a new light fixture installed. After I purchased the Big Deals, Snappy promptly called to set up an appointment. I was impressed that they took the initiative to call me first. According to the terms of the Big Deal, I was able to use one for plumbing and one for electrical. When I arranged the appointment, I asked if I could get a rough estimate of how much it would regularly cost to perform the work so I could gauge how much work I could have done for the amount I paid. I was told that the workers would go over the costs with me when they got there. This made me a little uncomfortable, but I didn't press it. I arranged to have both services performed on the same day. The workers called to let me know they were coming. The electrician showed up a little early but it wasn't a problem because I had taken off work. When I asked how much it would cost to replace the light fixture, he pulled out a notebook, looked it up and told me $162. With my credit of $150, I would end up owing an additional $12. Even with the service call factored in, I thought it was a little pricey but he was already there so I had him perform the work. He offered me a service plan that would cost around $150 but would give me a reduced rate if I ever used them again in the future. I declined and he didn't push it. The plumber showed up. I told him I wanted the pedestal sink out and replaced with a new vanity. I also wanted him to install a simple faucet on the new vanity. He also offered the service plan and again I declined. When I asked how much work could be done that would be covered by the $150, he told me "none of it." I asked if he could just install the new faucet and my husband and I would consult the Home Depot "how to" book to get the rest done. He told me he would talk to his boss. He went back to his truck and was gone for about 15 minutes. When he came back in, he had a quote for $1100!! I nearly passed out. To remove the pedestal sink and install a new vanity with fixtures would cost $1100! I told him "no thanks, sorry to have wasted your time" and sent him out the door. I plan to get a refund for my second Big Deal. The workers were polite and professional but the services were horribly overpriced in my opinion. I will not be calling Snappy again.

Let me say that despite what you may think we profit very little from the installation of one light fixture for $168. If you subtract the labor cost for the time on-site during installation and travel time both ways as well as fuel cost the profits are marginal at best. Once you figure the cost of doing business (marketing, accounting, utilities, benefits, taxes, business insurance etc. etc.) you can understand why the market value for a licensed electrician to hang a light fixture is in the $150+ range. Our price book is set up where additional work is less per item as we are already onsite working. Example each additional fixture would have been under a $100 to install. Had you purchased the service agreement the initial fixture would have been in that price range, plus you would have been able to take advantage of our cooling and heating tune-ups along with additional savings on the plumbing work. I have reviewed both invoices and the quoted work for the plumbing was more than just the installation of a customer supplied sink for $1100. It included installation of a garbage disposal, customer supplied sink, drains, water supplies and replacement of 2 leaking valves. If this seems incorrect please give me a call to discuss, we are very confident in our pricing structure. Again we understand concerns with pricing and do not claim to be the cheapest nor the highest, but assure that we are very competitive. All of technicians undergo rigorous background checks, random drug screening and on-going industry and customer service training. This ensures that your technician will be more than courteous, do a great job and work will be guaranteed for Life by the company! Thanks again for the business as well as the feedback. ~Adam Bunyard/General Manager~

The appointment was made for the next day, between 1-3. At 3:00 they called me and changed it to 3-5. Called at 5:00 and told me 5:30. Plumber arrived at about 6:15, but of course with no ladder. He then told me that they would need an additional person and a hydrojetter for the roof. Total cost, nearly $900. My wife and I rented a ladder the next day for $13, and used our pressure washer to unclog the scupper, saving us well over $800. Even though they didn't bring a ladder, and never looked at the problem on the roof, I was still charged $30 for their coming out.
Description of Work: I had a scupper that was clogged (the downspout on a flat roofed office building). When I called Snappy, I asked if this was something that Snappy could do, the receptionist checked, told me yes, and I reiterated that they would need a ladder to get on the roof. I also asked it they would honor the $199 for $99 coupon on Angie's list for a commercial building to clear a plugged drain pipe, and she said yes.

We appreciate the opportunity at your business as well as the report. Keep in mind that our Hydro Jetter is much more efficient than a pressure washer and the quote was for 3 separate drains, all of which had to be accessed from the roof. I understand that this was a rental property and in these situation sometimes keeping cost down is typically more important than quality. Our cost included camera inspections of the lines to insure they were properly cleaned and that there were no more issues other than debris backing them up once they had been flushed cleaned. As for the ladder our plumber that was dispatched had a 24’ ladder, but this unfortunately was not long enough to gain access on to the roof. Even if it had of been long enough our hydro jetter has to be scheduled around its availability. I hope you understand our position and if further resolution is need feel free to contact me to discuss. ~Adam Bunyard/General Manager~

The Sparky representative arrived on time and was courteous and willing to work in a cramped area under the house to install an outlet. He was patient and willing to answer questions.
Description of Work: Connected the tankless water heater into an electrical outlet. Cost of this was about $180.00 above the "deal" price, but it included more work than originally discussed plus an annual plan to inspect/repair other systems in the home.

The electrician was on-time and professional. He quickly fixed the plug and hung the new inside fixtures, while I made a trip to Home Depot to buy the motion sensor light fixture. He provided suggestions and tips for buying the motion sensor fixture (price, and brand). All went well, though I thought the pricing was high.
Description of Work: The electrician fixed a bad plug, replaced 2 light fixtures, and replaced an outside light with a motion sensor light fixture.

The person who came out, he lit one and he said the other could not light and it wasn’t working. He gave me a quote for a new system. I had another company come out and check it. They were able to light it and they said it was fine. I really didn’t need a new system. So far it has been working pretty well. He just inspected before I got it started. I wanted to make sure everything was fine and there was no carbon dioxide and that sort of stuff as well as getting it lit. He told me I need about $600 of repair or totally replace it. It was a big deal purchase. The pricing was fine. He was responsive. He was on time. He was professional.
Description of Work: I used Snappy Electric Plumbing Heating & Air. I was moving to this house so I needed the heating system turned on and checked.
