Member- We gave you a quote in advance before doing any work. At no time did you indicate (on the phone or in person) that the price was unreasonable. I feel the "C" for our pricing you gave us is unfair. We use only high quality parts and have not increased our toilet rebuild rate for the past 5 years, even though material costs have risen. I wanted a tankless water heater and with ours about to die it seemed like the right time. I called Nick and within a few hours he sent Tony over to take a look. It turns out that our house doesn't use a "normal" water heater, it's a special "direct vent" water heater. On top of that, there was not a good, economical way to install a tankless given where the gas came into the house and where the water heater needed to go. Suffice to say Nick called me to explain the situation and while he laid out all my options he encouraged me to go with a "Power vent" water heater. I called Nick multiple times because I had many questions and he patiently, pain-stakingly answered my calls time and time again. We are very happy. We can have the showers going, do a load of laundry and still have hot water at the kitchen sink. Nick was right, the power-vent was the right way to go.
Description of Work: Our water heater was 18 years old and definitely on its last legs. I called Nick because I wanted to replace it with a tankless water heater.

They are amazing. We had a disaster with the plumbing and they came out the same day and did the work and did a really good job. The guys who came out were certified and were nice people. They knew what they were doing and showed us whatever was wrong. Their quality was really good. I called them at 10 in the morning and they were here at 4 in the evening. I have hired them to do some other work as well.

Service Professional was friendly, courteous and performed the job in less time than what was orignally estimated. Just not sure that he was focussed on bottom line cost. On the other hand, his work was the kind that you could expect to never have to touch again...
Description of Work: Main high pressure line developed leak around a soldered fitting. Instead of repairing leak, MP replaced entire assembly with an easier to manage setup. It was a bit of overkill for what needed to be done. I would have expected a lower price for the amount of time spent on site. I felt that some parts did not need to be replaced.

Marine Plumbing only uses top quality products. As Licensed Plumbers will refuse to cut corners and we would never install something that you don't need! We gave you a fair and competitive price UP FRONT for 485.00. You also failed to mention that we also reduced bill an additional $60.00( Angies list / new customer) discount that you never expected for a total of $425.00. We shut off your water at meter, drained your entire home, installed a new pressure regulating, new full port shut off valve and re-piped approx 2 feet of copper which was in bad shape. I suggest you call others in the future and see what they would charge.

The work was excellent and the solutions seemed to spot on. The value, service, and responsiveness were all top notch. I really liked how they took the time to look over my whole system to address issues they saw and discussed my options to come up with the best solution. I feel like I got a lot of valuable work done for a good price. I think it's just a two man outfit, Nick and Tony, both ex-Navy if I remember right and they are the actual guys doing the work too. I would definitely recommend these guys and will call them for all my plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Marine installed a new water heater for me after discussing my options. They install quality units - Rheem RHG Pro 50 Which I think by itself is a $600 unit. They also installed whatever that second smaller tank that sits above the water heater is called. They also addressed a couple of other issues I had with a pressure valve that was constantly relieving itself and added a shut off valve. One other item was replaced that had to do with regulating pressure coming in from the main water line.

Called the company and left a message. Their recorded phone message was a little kooky but I tried not to let that throw me. No response for about 4 days. Called back again and this time I mentioned I got their name from Angie's list and would like to use them but needed a response back quick or I would have to move on. Got a call back immediately and was told they were working on numerous emergency frozen pipe jobs. Based on really cold weather in my area I believed that might be the case and decided to push ahead and have them come out and look at my job. Its likely they were taking care of their customers during emergency weather conditions and that is not a bad thing for a company to do. Since I did not have an emergency job I felt I could roll with their situation and wait a few days. Tony arrived on time agreed upon and looked over the job and confirmed price with me. I agreed and he set about doing the work. Finished job and cleaned up. It was over in just under 3 hours. We discussed a possible future plumbing job that I might have for a tankless water heater. He showed me photos of similar jobs he had completed and I got good information. Good talk. He liked my Collie/German Shepard mix big handsome dog.
Description of Work: Hooked up about 3 feet of new 1/2" diameter iron gas piping from existing 3/4" crawlspace gas supply pipe to gas range location in first floor kitchen. Provided redundant shutoff valves (one at range and one below in crawl space). Leaked tested finished piping. Helped me set up new range and checked function. Helped me move old range from kitchen to patio.

Excellent, professional service from start to finish. Extremely personable and great with my 4 year old who wanted to "help". Used booties to keep from tracking dirt in. Measured and made very small opening in drywall to examine and repair pipe. Cleaned up well after job was finished. Also gave an estimate for repair on a pressure valve. A little pricey, but worth it for a job done right and with great courtesy.

I found another plumber (located in Acworth) who installed my Sterling low-flow toilets by Kohler, which I purchased from Home Depot for $98.00 each. My plumber (who is licensed, insured, and bonded) installed them for $85.00 each, and did an excellent job. I am extremely happy with the toilets and the installation. The plumber I chose (NOT Marine) also moved my gas line for $125.00. Perfect service at an excellent price! So for a total of $674.00, I got three new low-flow toilets (that work beautifully) installed and my gas line moved. What could I possibly have gotten for $1885.00 from Marine? I guess it costs a lot to maintain all that arrogance....
Description of Work: I requested a quote for installing 3 toilets that I purchased from Home Depot and moving a gas line for a new gas stove to be installed. The guy I spoke with at Marine was extremely arrogant and his quote was outrageous! He said that he would NOT install toilets from Home Depot because they were "B" grade toilets. He only installs toilets purchased from him at $500.00+ per toilet. His estimate for moving a gas line STARTED at $385.00. For a minimum grand total of $1885.00!!!!

Yes, I remember you quite well and not surprised about your comments! We only install WATER SENSE toilets which qualify for 100 rebate(each) from Cobb County Water Department and the reason is that they actually work and save water! There is no comparison to the sterling toilets you purchased from Home Depot to ours. Your new CHEAP toilets require a scrub brush (constant cleaning) and a plunger nearby due to stoppages. In addition- We charge for labor exactly what Home depot does to install and they were to expensive for you as well! Gas Work=We pull permits with the county which I called and verified that you never did pull a permit and this will come back to bite you HARD!.... You also called me arrogant but you are confusing this with me quoting you minimum code requirements! We also pressure test all gas piping as well which is part of the permit process and is required BY CODE! And NO, we don't use soft copper piping only hard black iron for gas which needs to be hand threaded and cut on site. We don't sacrifice safety and minimum code requirements for anyone! We GRADE you "F" for all of the above! Tony Little

I was pricing gas hot water heater replacement. I have 2 50 gal. units installed side by side. Apparently, there are 2 methods of installation: parallel and series. Parallel is preferable. The plumber assured me that not only did I have a bottom of the line "select" brand heater but that he replaces 300 water heaters a year, and that I more than likely had a series installation and would need both tanks replaced and all new plumbing to the tune of $3200. Single tank replacement would be $1400 in the event that I had parallel installation. I could not get him to explain what the different installations looked like so I Googled to view them. It turns out I have parallel. The better quality Rheem heater he recommended was offered by another plumber for $1000 including a new thermal expansion tank. I felt he was rude and short tempered and in the end overpriced as well. Unfortunate.

Scheduled appt for 8:30 am for the installation of a thermal expansion device on an old water heater. Nick arrived on time. He took a look at the current setup and suggested that I replace the existing water heater rather than spend money on an expansion device for such an old unit. He did not hard sell the new unit. He simply layed out my options so I could make an educated decision. Once I heard the facts, I agreed a new unit made sense. Nick was not sure if he would be able to perform the installation that same day since they already had other jobs scheduled, and he did not have a new water heater in the truck. He said they would try to work me into the schedule so that I did not have to take another day off work, but he could not promise anything. To make a long story short, Nick and Tony both came back to the house in the middle of the afternoon to complete the installation. In addition to the water heater, they replaced the pressure release valve in the crawlspace that was originally installed upside-down, corrected the vent on the water heater, extended the gas piping, and threw in a pan for the heater at no charge. These guys do not take short cuts! They worked into the early evening making sure everything was setup the way they would want it in their own homes. I greatly appreciate their attention to detail and their efforts to save me from taking another day off work. I was very pleased with their work and would recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services.

FANTASTIC! I made an appointment with Tony to replace our two 13 year old, 40-gallon water heaters (prior to their failure) with one 50-gallon heater. He advised me on the phone about the age of the PRV and said he would inspect it as well when he arrived. He not only arrived right on time, but he even called ahead that morning to confirm the appointment. When he arrived and saw how the current system was installed and we discussed the usage, he advised me that we would not be satisfied with just the single 50-gallon heater, even though it is more efficient than our current heaters. Although he brought the new tank with him, we decided not to complete the replacement at this time, but Tony did recommend installing a water sensor device in case either exisitng tank starts to leak. He also provided me a written estimate for replacing both units, including the Angie's List dicsount! I'll be calling Tony for sure to do this work.
Description of Work: Tony replaced the pressure regulating valve on the main water line. He also re-piped about 10 feet of pipe that was not installed optimally at original construction, and to make the main shut-off reachable without climbing a ladder. He was careful to clean all the pipes and joints before and after soldering, and he strapped all the new piping in to minimize any movement.

Great experience overall. Didn't connect on first call placed, but quick response on the second call. Got a lot of good advice and counsel over the phone first when troubleshooting the cause of the problem with my water heater, and an accurate quote with a promise of when the work could be done. Work done on day promised, with full explanation and helpful tips about how to monitor house's water pressure and what to watch out for. My take away is that it was a very careful, meticulous approach to the workmanship/installation and it's much appreciated. Nicely done.

Tony arrived on time for the initial investigation/estimate of the problem. We had used the services of Marine Pluming previously and were confident that they could resolve the problem. Tony noticed that other than the toilet problem the water control shut-off valve did not control the water flow completely. He replaced that immediately. Then he reported that the toilet should be replaced as he stopped the water running problem, but thought it was a temporary fix as the unit was 20 years old. Another appointment was made to replace the toilet. The new model was installed two days later and we went from a 3 gallon to a new 1 and 1/2 gallon unit.
Description of Work: Replaced original intermittently running toilet with a new model efficient "Gerber" toilet. In addition it was necessary to replace the water shut-off valve.

Tony was professional and courteous from the start. He showed up on time, even though I had scheduled the visit two weeks in advance. He looked over the situation quickly. I didn't have very many questions - it was a quick assessment and he made me an estimate for repairs and a reasonable replacement and upgrade for the water heater.
Description of Work: I'm trying to sell my condo, and I called him due to some "active moisture" detected by a potential buyer's home inspector. Tony successfully diagnosed this active moisture situation as sourcing from the shower in the unit upstairs from mine. He confirmed for me that other ceiling discoloration was from an old, dried up, and no longer active leak. He also gave me a reasonable estimate on repairs to a leaky faucet. He went beyond the call of duty in that he made me aware that my water heater is 14 years old, showing leak damage, and in need of replacement. He diagnosed everything I asked and more.

Description of Work: After hearing a lot of noises from our pipes when running water we figured out we needed a new PRV valve. I contacted Marine Plumbing and spoke with Tony who gave me a lot of information and made an appointment to come over the next day. He was great and very informative considering I didn't know that much about the subject. Marine plumbing did an outstanding job repairing my leaking water line. They promptly responded to my call, provided a very reasonable estimate prior to the work, provided some possible alternatives to completing the work, and completed the job ahead of the schedule that they originally provided. This was a messy job digging up the line in the Georgia clay and drilling a new hole in the basement wall. They showed up when they promised, worked hard thru the day without a break, and completed the repair by the end of the day. They also added some needed isolation valves and rerouted the line, once they inspected the suspect work of the original construction. I selected Marine based on the ratings on Angies List, and I'm very satisfied with the completed work.
