Estimate provided with options, we chose to replace rather than repair a 20+years old toilet and we knew the pressure valve would need replacing so we had it done at the same time. Prompt service, price was fine, service was excellent.
Description of Work: We changed out a toilet and had the water valve replaced. The water valve was in the ground instead of the house, thus the cost was higher. Prompt & reliable...they will be our go-to plumber while we are in GA.

Great and efficient job from start to finish!
Description of Work: Installed new dishwasher which was bigger than the previous one. There was a water problem with the old dishwasher; water going into the basement, bad flooring underneath from water damage. Tony came out a few days earlier to remove the old one and see if the floor would dry out so that it did'nt need to be replaced. The whole installation was tedious, but Tony took his time and had a great attitude throughout the ordeal. Tony also replaced the whole house water turn off valve and fixed a leaky pipe in a bathroom.

We had an HVAC guy to the house and he noticed the pressure valve on the water heater was not working. He told us to get a plumber and that the gauge coming into the house from the street probably was not working and caused the water heater's pressure valve to break. As I always do, I went straight to Angie's List b/c I have never had to call a plumber so I had no idea who to call. I always search for A ratings and companies that have many reviews so I can read the personal experiences. In doing that search Marine Plumbing was the first in the list to return. I called and Tony answered right away. I explained my problem the best I could, stating the pressure valve on the water heater was broken. With just a little bit of information that I was able to share, Tony was able to provide a wealth of knowledge about the issue and then stated that was probably just the symptom (which is exactly what the HVAC person said). He spent a good 10+ min on the phone with me, letting me ask all kinds of questions, which were probably quite elementary, but he never made me feel that way. I called at approx. 10am on a Friday. Once we talked he was very concerned about our issue b/c it can be a mess if the pressure builds up too much, which is what it seemed was happening. B/c he was so concerned he rearranged some things and had Nick out to the house by 1pm that very same day. Nick came in, went straight to the issue and was able to fix everything in just a few hours. He was great!!! They quoted me the price up front and it did not change. They were so responsive, knowledgeable and I just felt like they were good people who were honest and trustworthy. You hear horror stories about people being taken advantage of and b/c I don't know a thing about plumbing, and I am a woman, I had concern calling a plumber I didn't know. Well, they made me feel so comfortable and I will ALWAYS use Marine Plumbing going forward and cannot recommend them enough. Thanks Tony & NIck!!!!
Description of Work: Our pressure valve on the water heater was busted and had to be replaced. That was just the symptom of a bigger problem. They found that the gauge coming into the house from the sewer was no longer functioning, which is what caused the pressure value to bust. Both were replaced.

After grilling out over the Labor Day holiday, the children chipped in to help clean up the dishes. Unfortunately, they dumped the corn cob holders into the disposal. When my wife turned it on (not knowing of the impending doom!) it made a horrific noise and locked up. I tried resetting and using an Allen wrench to free it up to no avail. My wife called Marine plumbing based on the Angie's List reviews and Tony arrived the same day. What a great guy! We thought we'd have to replace the unit but Tony dug right in, fished out about 6 of those metal prongs (some required pliers!), and had it running in no time. He also noticed that the unit hadn't been installed correctly and totally reinstalled the unit. All-in-all it cost about a third of what we were expecting to pay to replace the unit. I couldn't be happier with the work he performed and will definitely use Marine Plumbing for all my future needs. Thanks again, Tony!

I went to the house and checked everything Mark Suggested. Guess what? No leak at all. The Meter was at a complete standstill and had the exact reading from when the water company was there 10 days prior. This got me thinking and I recalled a conversation with the neighbor who had complained of the cost to replace his pool liner 2 weeks before. Also there had been a hose left in our back yard that I thought was from the previous owner. That was now gone too. I feel confident that we had just sponsored the 9000 gallon water refill of our neighbors pool. I wonder what they will think when I show up in my swimsuit and towel in hand? Mark was very kind and patient explaining everything I needed to do. We are in the middle of a move from CA and my husband isn't here in GA yet. I was relying on Marine Plumbing to treat me fairly since my husband would have normally dealt with these type of issues. Mark answered all of my questions and even explained a couple of things twice lol. He saved us the unnecessary cost of a visit and was willing to come out on a Saturday if we needed him. If we have any plumbing needs in the future we will call Marine Plumbing because of the way they conduct their business.
Description of Work: We recently purchased a home that had been vacant for over a year. We had just established the Water Service in our name and had the water meter read on the first day of service. I was shocked to see the first bill for over 9000 gallons of water after only 16 days of service to a house that was still vacant. I called the water company who suggested we call a plumber as we may have a serious leak somewhere. Using Angie's list I located a nearby plumber with high ratings, Marine Plumbing Service, Inc. I left a voice mail in the late afternoon of a Friday explaining what the concern was and asked for a call back. Within the hour Mark called me back. I explained what had occurred and he made numerous suggestions. He explained exactly how to check the meter, shut off various valves etc to isolate the problem. He said the cost for him to come out to do those same things would be about $96.00 but that if I was comfortable doing it myself this would save me money. The next day was a Saturday and he said that if I checked those things and still had questions or if I thought there was a leak just give him a call and he would come right out.

In 12/2011, had a leak from 2 places of my toilet. Tony from Marine Plumbing came to check it out but we could not turn the water off because I could not find the main water meter. He spent 1/2 hour in the yard trying to find it but to no avail. He was so helpful, told me who to call to get it marked, and never acted like I was an idiot - even though I felt like one! Returned when the county had marked the water meter, replaced the toilet, and the shut off valve, explained everything to me and I have never had a problem with it since then. Then in June, 2012, had a faucet just sort of pop out of the guest shower wall and water leaking all over the place. I turned off the water, but could not put the faucet back and had no idea what was wrong. Again, called Marine Plumbing and Tony came out. Luckily no drilling into the tiles or the wall behind it. Just needed a faucet replacement and adjustment and he did that quickly, effectively, and I have had no problem since then. Tony was always willing to work with my work schedule, was always on time, always friendly and willing to explain everything that was going on. A person just knows that he knows what he is talking about. I have no doubt as to his integrity, honesty, and pride in his workmanship. I would recommend Marine Plumbling and Tony to anyone with a A+++++ rating.
Description of Work: Toilet replacement. that was actually in 12/2011 Shower faucet replacement. 6/6/2012 Note: I am not sure if the cost is accurate.... I found a receipt for $550 that was for the toilet I think and $120 for the bathroom faucet replacement. I know that the bathroom faucet replacement is totally accurate, but I had a water pressure adjustment welding job done by him prior to the toilet replacement and can't find those actual receipts, so not sure if the $550 is for the toilet - but I think it is.

You are mistaken on ALL accounts. Both Tony and I forward calls to one another when the other is busy. We always return calls to every customer since we are in business to stay in business. We have no inside sales staff and never had a designer so nice try. There is no truth to anything that you have provided. Hard to believe that you are an Angies List member.

Their style of work, their workmanship and the result of finishing up the job is good. They are very professional. It was good pricing. The quality of their labor was definitely superior. They were right on time. They did a professional job from the beginning to end. They removed all the old plumbing, did re-plumbing and installation. They were very good.

I like to deal with Tony, the owner's co-worker. He's calm and easy going. The owner, Nick, on the other hand should avoid contact with any customers experiencing problems from a previous install. He is quick to anger and frustration. His co-worker is not! There work is impeccable and prices comparable to other plumbing companies. I would highly recommend them. The owner is pleasant when he comes to your home to offer an estimate. This tells me that dealing with conflict is his big negative issue. ************************************ Nick, It's amazing to me that even though I gave you an "A" rating; recommended your company to others; and said I would use you all again, you elected to reply with a defensive, rude and mean comment. I suppose it did take you longer in your dealings with me than the actual time on the job because you kept implying that we had broken the pump in some way. I knew this wasn't true and had to prove it to you. You also said I expected you to do the work for free and this made ME quite angry, not you. This is not a truthful statement, Nick. I believe in treating others the way I wish to be treated [with kindness]; and I would have never spoken to you in anger...NEVER. We purchased this particular pump because you claimed it never breaks and had a 7 year warranty. According to the pump manufacturer, they do break. Please understand, I do know the job isn't an easy one; and you all work very hard--there is no doubt; but there was no need for you to be ugly by replying on Angie's List " ...to remove your fully submerged sewage pump sitting three foot underground in a slurry of water, fecal matter, urine and toilet paper. Not fun and probably the worse / nastiest job to date!"
Description of Work: Had a sewage ejector installed in our basement that had not been stubbed for a toilet. Never do that when building a house. I learned the hard way. Anyway, this SS pump came with a 7-year warranty and cost us approx. $1400+ including labor. Well, it died 15 days after the 1 year labor warranty expired. Oddly the owner kept acting like my family may have caused it to die or that it was an electrical issue. It was on it's own circuit...so that wasn't possible. Because I am a woman, the owner treated as if I didn't know what I was talking about. I don't like that. I spoke to the manufacturer who stated that while these are great pumps, they will die and that's it's usually 2 specific parts that can go bad. The manufacturer indicated that it was no big deal to send out a new one immediately for free....while Marine Plumbing insisted it was not possible to get a replacement pump. In the end, Marine Plumbing did replace the pump for me; but they insisted I pay for labor charges. While I was willing to do that, had it been my business, I would have replaced it at no cost especially given what I paid originally and that it died within one year. I ended up dealing 'only' with the company's co-work, Tony. He is great to work with. To Marine Plumbing: I am not insulting you...I am only telling the truth.

Better, far better than I hoped. While here they replaced my old household water input pressure regulator with additional cut offs, removed they old one for material costs. The 21 year OLD regulator was screaming when water flowed and one joint was held in place with epoxy. They provided really top notch toilet, seat and shower setup for the cost. Little things were handled with a confident, we will take care of that. Their apprentice also a Tony was great. Andrew the tile guy is super nice an really did a good job. At my request, they also checked out my existing water heater, and replaced, added a drain line for no extra charge. The drain line was needed since the old tank would have drained directly to the floor. I am sure there are some really good plumbers and service companies out there, these guys could set a standard.
Description of Work: They came out for an estimate on time, assessed the situation and worked on a plan over the weekend. Communicated every step of the way. Made sure we were happy with the direction. Marine took all of the steps I could have thought of plus all of the ones I didn't know about into consideration. They fixed a disaster in my basement from a prior attempt to install a toilet and tube. Nick and Tony both took a look and prepared me for the worst. Marine always stayed with the quoted price. Additionally they added cut off valves and piping beyond my expectations. The team made sure my old copper tubing soldering job hadn't eroded the copper tubing. Really they didn't cut corners anywhere. Very personable and respectful. Well, after all there were 360 lbs of concrete in my basement floor not picked up for over a month after we were told it would be picked up. I carried the concrete back to Home Depot for a refund. The gas cost was higher than the refund, but I will gladly pass that over. Then everyone went out of town for several weeks and thought someone else was handling it. A representative told me they were busy on some big jobs.

The main owner's last name is Marine. I know that both of the guys who are in ownership were in the military. They are retired military. They did the garbage disposal and they did a couple of other minor things. I loved them. The guy who came out was Tony Little and he just was amazing. Not only was he very very pleasant and very professional and did all the things that I had asked but all the way through he educated me so in the future I could do things myself. When I turned the water to high in the sink, the water pressure was so low it was just a trickle of water and he just showed me what to do. He was very nice. It truly was the most satisfying experience. I have worked with other contractors for lots of different things and Tony was just amazing. He was excellent on every front. He was here when he said he was going to be here. He was very professional. He was knowledgeable. He didn't seem to be in a hurry. He didn't patronize me. He didn't seem to be trying to do something over on me. He even made suggestions throughout about ongoing things and wasn't necessarily trying to drum up business for himself as a side thing. I had a question about my water heater and I just wanted to make sure everything was right with it and with the valve and he just passed on information about the kinds of the water heaters people were using and the benefits. I just so appreciated that he wanted me to know everything he was doing and whatever I could do. Right through he explained to me about what he was doing. I didn't leave the room at all. He told me everything. I didn't know anything about any plumbers, I didn't have one, and I suddenly needed one so I went on Angie's List and found them.
Description of Work: I had Marine Plumbing Service come out probably 9 months ago because I needed a new garbage disposal. My garbage disposal was falling apart and pieces were coming out.

I called them about 10:00 in the morning after one of my water leak alarms went off (which Tony from Marine Plumbing recommended I install two years ago.) It saved me a flooded basement, for which I am eternally grateful. Tony and Nick came over within 30 minutes of my call to assess the situation. Nick quoted me the price and then they set off to collect the materials. Three of them worked throughout the afternoon to remove the two old water heaters, pipes, and leaky exhaust ducts. They added additional shutoff valves, and replaced every inch of piping and duct work necessary. They even added a shutoff valve for the furnace humidifier, and fixed two other leaky water valves on outside faucets. Tony's suggestion to install the leak alarms tow years ago (on 12 year old water heaters) was the clincher for me. Because of him, I only had to mop up 2 or 3 gallons of water, saving my basement and everything in it, not to mention the cost of a clean-up. I could not be more pleased with their work, their professionalism, and their integrity. They are always my #1 Plumber.

Checked Angie's List. Chose three companies. Read Reviews. Called Marine (and so glad I did). Had to leave a message, but their reply was within the hour. Came to the house to check out and find the water problem (water bills got a tad BIG). Called me to go over everything and explain our options (pipe choices) and the costs. They called all the necessary services (gas, electric, etc.) so they knew where to dig. Discussed with us the best approach and what would have to be done inside as well as outside of our home to repair the problem. Told us when they would be able to start. Were on time and completed the job, improving upon the original plumbing in the process. They treated my mother (88) so well. She loved them all too. It was just a great experience and I would call them again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Cannot say enough good things about this company. They were prompt. Courteous. Knowledgeable. Considerate. Friendly. We just loved them. Everyone on their team was great. It made a water leak experience good, if that is possible?! Their repairs to our home water line were an immense improvement over the original plumbing (they rerouted the pipe)...made whoever did the original plumbing look like amateurs. They had to cut through our basement floor and the repair to the cement floor is perfect. They installed a new shut off valve at a level that is perfect for us. We no longer will have to stand on chairs to reach the shut off. It was very refreshing to do business with people that are honest, on time, very concerned about doing the job right with the right materials. They contacted all the necessary companies prior to digging and you can barely tell where they had to cut through our yard. Just a great group of people. You can't lose if you choose Marine. You'll never be left adrift. Seriously!

Nick Marine was referred to me by a friend and he came right over and took care of everything. My old plumbing under the sink was terrible to begin with.... He had to cut into the wall to fix it. Nick was a master at this.... fixed the plumbing, hooked up the dishwasher, new faucets, garbage disposal. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. I will be calling them again when I do my bathroom..... but this time before I start.
Description of Work: I did a kitchen remodel and didn't realize until my new cabinets were installed that everything had shifted by about 3 inches to the right. I was terrified that I wouldn't be able to get the new sink hooked up properly.

Thank you for taking the time to read my response. We were in NY at a funeral of a 94 year old Master Chief who served for 38 years in the Navy. We apologize for any inconveniences. We would like to change your impression of our company, if you so graciously presented with another opportunity. Sorry for any inconveniences and troubles. Please look at our responses wear we have completed work; this will paint a better picture of our artistry. Thank you for your time.

I was very impressed with Mr. Marine's professionalism.
Description of Work: I called and left a message after a DIY project began to go awry on a Saturday afternoon. Mr. Marine called me back within 15 minutes, explained that he was on vacation for a week, and referred us to another plumber. I am very impressed with this level of responsiveness and will call this company again when we need work done!

We enjoyed working for you as well. Glad that the gas meter replacement with Atlanta Gas worked out so smoothly. Your complete water repiping, gas repipng and tankless intstall was pretty tough but glad it all worked out. Hope you will also enjoy the recirculating (demand pump) which will also provide more rapid home water around the home. Also heard your wife started using new hose on backporch minutes after it was installed. LOL Please call on us at anytime. Thanks, Nick Marine

This was my first contact and experience using Angie's List. Bottom line: great experience all around and I have a new plumber that I trust! I contacted Marine and they called me right back. I spoke to Tony Little who went through some triage on the phone with me. I was experiencing some considerable leaking into my garage from what looked like the supply lines to my kitchen sink. Tony thought perhaps it was the pressure regulator valve causing stress on some of the joints. He explained everything as well as what the cost would be. We made an appointment for the next morning. Tony was right on time and came prepared for just about anything. Good thing too since once he saw what was going on he was able to pinpoint the problem quickly and fix it. The last owners hadn't installed the disposal drain correctly and it was leaking there. Tony also fixed two existing hose bibs for me that had been leaking for some time. Tony was great - very nice person, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely be recommending Marine to family and friends. I know who I'm calling the next time I need plumbing work done!

Nick Marine and Tony Little run an outstanding business. After years of periodic leak problems from my self-installed Omni whole house water filter, I decided to remove the filter and have a plumber solder a new pipe. I called Nick on a Saturday morning, and after explaining my desires and learning he could do the work, I asked if there was any chance he could perform the work the same day. Within a couple hours of my initial call Tony Little showed up with a young assistant, Max. Tony listened attentively as I described my desires in detail. He then offered an additional idea to replace the filter with a higher quality one, and to install a separate bypass line to ensure uninterrupted water flow during filter cartridge changes or if the filter had any problems in the future. I approved his good idea and Tony and Max began work. The entire job was done promptly, professionally, courteously, and at all times answered all my questions well, both concerning the installation and any future considerations. Marine Plumbing's quality work, exceptional attitude, and prompt service are well worth your consideration for plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Replaced PRV(Pressure Regulator Valve), Main water shutoff valve, whole house water filter, and replumbed existing setup.

While I did not experience services directly from Marine Plumbing, I wanted to leave an excellent rating for their professionalism and their recommendation. We had two severely clogged drains, and when I called Marine Plumbing, they referred me over to someone that they have worked with for over 15 years. They did this to help save me money...which is admirable for a business! The person they recommended came out, and was done within 30 minutes. I was very impressed with the plumber, and I wanted to commend Marine Plumbing for their trust worthy recommendation. As a former renter, this was my first experience with a plumbing company, so I was rather clueless, but now this company and the person they referred to me will be our 'go-to' plumber.
