It went very well. Problem was solved. Everything was clearly explained. Both technicians, Sean and Steven, were detailed, focused and very important to me, friendly. They took the time to explain what was involved and then got everything working correctly. They also made sure that all the outlets and wiring was tightened up and brought to current standards. They also made sure that everything was cleaned up afterwards and left it better than they found it.

Henry was fantastic! He did a lot of work at our home, and I felt like he would make our home as safe as he would his own. He was kind and respectful of our infant's naps. I would highly recommend him and Lightning Bug Electric!

I wasn't pleased with having to spend more money than I had anticipated, but knew it needed to be done. I was grateful they showed me the problem and I was able to have them repair it before disaster struck from being improperly wired. They were great about keeping me updated on what was going on and giving me detailed information about my options. Very pleased, and also appreciated the discount they gave me for being an Angie's List referral.

Hands-down, one of the best experiences i've ever had with a service company. Easy scheduling with good communication prior to the appointment. Had a circuit breaker that kept tripping, cutting the power to one bedroom. Bobby showed up on time and went right to work. James showed up a few minutes later and the two of them went through every inch of the bedroom and opened up both breaker panels looking for the problem. They found what they thought the problem was, quickly fixed it and walked me through every step of what they were doing because I was curious and wanted to know. Never once were they frustrated or annoyed at my questions or desire to know what they problem was. They answered every question i had explained everything in a manner i could understand. They even found a problem in the breaker panel caused by poor workmanship at the time my house was built. Bobby was extremely patient and helpful through the entire process. He was upfront that they thought they found the problem, but since they couldnt reproduce it, it was a theoretical fix, but multiple times said to call back if it happened again. Sure enough, the problem popped back up. Bobby was back at my house two more times that day, always with a smile, and eventually found the culprit and replaced a faulty breaker. Bobby and James did an amazing job. They are good at what they do, but more importantly they are good human beings and emblematic of a great company that truly cares about their customers.

Excellent...Was a light much for a replacement of a ceiling fan but it had to be done.

TERRIBLE. Here's how it went: We recently awoke one morning to find our overhead lights in our kitchen and our living room not working. I checked the box & found a breaker had tripped and reset it, but the lights still would not come on. We checked other outlets and lights we know to be on that circuit breaker (we have them written down) and realized the entire circuit was out. We eventually reached two electricians, one of whom was Tim from Lightening Bug and scheduled both of them to come out to our home the following Monday. When my husband called Tim to confirm the appointment that morning Tim immediately told him that we “probably have a Bryant Panel and the whole thing will have to be replaced.” He said “no one makes those breakers anymore.” All he knew at this point was that we had a tripped breaker and had never stepped foot in our home! Knowing that replacing the entire panel would be thousands of dollars, this was immediately a red flag for us. Sure enough, a quick visit by us to Home Depot before TIm arrived resulted in our finding the replacement circuit breakers in stock although now made by another manufacturer. We bought the 20/20 amp breaker that was out for $9.50 plus tax and took it home for the electrician to use. When Tim arrived, he seemed uninterested in doing anything other than trying to convince us that our wiring and our panel is “illegal” and that we needed to replace it. He did nothing to troubleshoot any of the blown circuit outlets or switches but kept focusing on the panel. He stated that he wouldn’t work on our box because he “won’t put my license at risk” by doing so. I asked if he was saying he would only fix our problem if we replaced the whole panel and he immediately backpedaled. He said he could “get it going again" but he would have to replace the breaker with the “correct 15 amp” breaker not the “illegal” 20/20 that had blown- although this is the circuit breaker that has been there since before we bought the home 24 years ago. We stated that we would like to get the circuit problem corrected and could not afford to replace the panel at this time. He then quoted $298 for the job. I asked if this would include all parts and labor (assuming he would have a 15/15 amp on his truck for which we would pay) and he said “yes.” Minutes later he back tracked again and said the parts would cost more – he eventually quoted $98 more for a $9.50 circuit breaker. I was pressing him pretty **** ** everything by this time because it felt like we were getting a hard sell at the least and a complete scam at the most and because he kept changing what he was saying. He also said repeatedly that we “have never had a REAL electrician” in our home before. We mentioned a couple of large reputable companies and a smaller company we’ve done business with before, but he insisted that "no REAL electrician” could ever have been there. As a professional myself, I strongly believe that badmouthing the competition is poor form and unethical and was shocked that he would do so. He then asked me “why are you giving me a hard time?” which I can only suppose is his interpretation of a woman who asks intelligent questions, questions an ever-changing description of the work and cost of the work to be done, and who is not stupid nor a pushover. I did not say this to him, but once he said this to me, I went upstairs and let my husband finished dealing with him. My husband then asked Tim for a written quote, which he provided, quoting approximately $2500 for a new panel, $780 if we just went with a subpanel, and the roughly $400 to fix the “illegal circuit” for us to choose from. My husband sent him on his way and we anxiously waited for the next electrician to show up. The electrician who came later has worked for us before many years ago, but was not going to be available as early as Tim. I called to confirm when he would be coming, and he said he could come much earlier as he had completed his other job earlier than he’d anticipated. When he arrived, we told him about the circuit being out and possibly being “Illegal” per the other man. He did not comment negatively or positively about the other electrician, but went to work. He inspected our box, checked the entire faulty circuit, eventually found the bad outlet causing the problem, fixed everything and charged us $215 for 2 hours of really through work. We will never do business with Lightening Bug! This was a terrible experience in so many ways. We were surprised since I had read some really good reviews of them on Angie’s List. Looking back at them I see they mention other employees by name, never Tim, and one bad review doesn’t mention his name but describes him to a T. So perhaps Tim is the problem. At any rate, we highly recommend that you be sure to get additional quotes first if you do decide to try this company for your job.

Very professional and knowledgeable. Sean and Steven were on time, put on shoe covering before entering home, explained what they would be doing, what the price range would be depending on what they found, explained what caused the outage as soon as they found the reason and repaired the problem and left the work area clean. Excellent communication.

Called after hours, they gave me an arrival time and they came when they said they would. Sean and Steven were Professional in appearance and had excellent communication skills. They immediately covered their shoes with plastic before coming in house and started to work. Explained each step they were taking while working, gave me an estimate based on what might need to be done and kept me informed the entire time. No surprises. We felt comfortable with their knowledge and skills.

They recommended an additional repair that it turned out I needed. I was thankful everything got fixed in one trip.

Work was completed on time and without any problems

The oulet kept tripping the fuse so I called and another technician came right out and corrected the installation error as well as added a surge protector to the fuse box (for an additional charge) that the first tech did not discuss. Overall a good experience though I may have paid more than I had originally expected.

Leo and NIck were prompt, courteous and professional - the trifecta of service attributes you can ask for from a vendor. Quoted me for some troubleshooting prior to beginning work and found the problem to be minor and waived the entire pre-quoted charge for that particular issue. That's honesty that earns my repeat business. While they aren't likely to be the cheapest, their quality of work puts mind at ease.

Installation went fine but had to pay a little extra beyond the purchased coupon. Not too upset but would be perfect score otherwise.

Bobby O from Lightning arrived earlier than scheduled, knew exactly what to do to update and replace receptacles. He showed me the condition of the units and explained how he planned to fix them. Very fine job. I am extremely pleased. Thanks!

Working around employees and customers during a regular business day is not an easy task, but Tim, Josh and Nick did a terrific job. The project was time consuming, and these fellas were able to handle working around our staff with skill and humor. They listened to what we wanted and helped us decide on what service needed installed or moved. We certainly appreciate their work.

Henry did a great job. Only problem was that the longer he was here the more things I remembered to get him to fix! Everything was done fast and at a good cost. Will definitely use them in the future.

estimate provided was extremely high. Lightening bug would not estimate what was required and instead opted to suggest huge upgrades and enhancements. Never got an estimate for what we really needed. During the follow up call where I declined their services I was insulted by the estimator.

Bobby and his crew James/Nick/Jeremy/Leo did an excellent job. Very polite and professional. Cleaned up after themselves. Estimated job would be complete in 2 days and it was complete in the stated amount of time. Price was very fair for work done

James was punctual, friendly, hard working and knowledgeable. He pointed out several things that were safety hazards- including the careless wiring that a previous company had done that was clearly a fire hazard. I likely could have gotten a "better deal" in cost with some research of the angies list coupons, but after seeing the poor quality of the work of the other company I hired on price, I decided to get everything done correctly by Lightning Bug. I felt safer after the work was performed and would hire again.
