Very Good. No problems or concerns. The technician was very professional and answered my questions knowledgeably. The technician notified me of a problem, a switch inside would have to be on for the receptacle to work. I agreed to this, in fact prefer it that way. He then set about installing the receptacle, showed me how it works and cleaned up after himself. No mess was left. The technician told me about changes to the fire code regarding my smoke alarms and gave me an estimate. I declined to have that work done immediately but will be considering it for the future.

It went well. After purchasing the Big Deal online, I called to schedule an appointment. They were able to have a technician come out in one to two days. I scheduled the service for Wednesday morning. Unfortunately, it was raining quite a bit and at times pretty heavily throughout that day. Because of the rain delay, Josh, the technician, arrived in the afternoon on Wednesday. The office called twice to let me know about the delay. Josh called to let me know he was on his way. Once he arrived, he worked quickly and efficiently. He continued working even when it was raining outside. He put on the blue booties each time he came into my house, which I really appreciated. He completed the job in about 2.5 hours. The work space was cleaned up when he was done. He even sealed around the outlet boxes to prevent moisture from getting in.
Description of Work: Install 2 outdoor GFCI electrical boxes. This was an Angie's List Big Deal.

Matt came early (which made me happy), saw exactly what was needed, fixed it, and even charged us less than what his price list said to fix it. Very professional and knowledgeable, and we plan on using them again for some installs in the near future.
Description of Work: The breaker for the master suite kept tripping, and finally wouldn't even turn on. The technician, Matt, was able to see that it was corroded at the breaker box, and replaced the breaker, and secured the wires so they wouldn't arc anymore.

Called to get an estimate from the high Angies list rating; the person on the phone was kind and gave me a good estimate pending the home visit. When the technician arrived, a higher price was given to me. Then he called the office and respected the older price and even lower it to my request. The chandellier is a glass cilinder. When they were done installing it, I noticed many finger prints. The technicians clean it a little bit but were rushing and did not do a good job. I called the office after they left and promised to send someone to clean it. Two months later, I have not received a call from them. The job was done quickly but the rushing and not calling me back takes out the good impression. I will not use them in the future.

We called to follow up after the work was done and find out how the service was. You did tell us you were not happy and I believe we tried to go above and beyond to make you happy. I was told that it was a old fixture that we installed and that it was dirty. We cleaned it as best we could but please understand we only charged to install it not clean it. We did offer our ladder to you so you can clean it, but we did not have enough time to wait for you to clean the entire fixture because we did have other calls to go to. Again if you would like for us to clean the fixture we would be more than happy to give you a price to do so. I purchased a 20 year old home that needed a new service panel and some other electrical work. Joey Bates performed the work, installing a new Cutler-Hammer panel, and also adding some extra dedicated circuits I wanted for the garage, and installing some can lights and a wall sconce. To say this guy works hard is an understatement-he worked until 8 or 9 PM on a couple of evenings, including Saturday, to get the job done. He also had some good ideas on lighting and troubleshooting circuits that were a problem. I would definitely recommend Joey and his company for future work.

I signed up for Angie's List primarily to find a decent electrician that did free estimates. I had a couple of companies to call and I called Lightning Bug first. They said they could have an electrician out that afternoon (wow). A few minutes later the rep called me back saying the electrician could be here in half an hour (even better). The electrician who showed up, Alan, was very high energy and friendly and seemed to really love his job. Looking over my list and eyeballing things to be fixed, he actually got excited when he discovered we had torn out our hot tub, because he could use the hot tub breaker to fix the double tapped breaker and therefore save me some money. Overall, he managed to explain how things worked, or didn't work, to someone who is completely clueless about anything electrical-related. He gave me what I thought was a reasonable estimate, so I had him do the repairs that day. After he was finished, he walked me through all the repairs he did and showed me what he had done.
Description of Work: Our house was inspected and we had a laundry list of items that needed to be repaired for our buyers. The electrician 1. Added a new circuit for our garage door opener. 2. Rewired an outlet so the garage door openers were no longer operated by a lightswitch. 3. Terminated a live wire in the basement into a proper box with cover. 4. Fixed double tapped breaker in the panel. 5. Replaced a 20 AMP AC breaker with a 15 AMP. And 6. Replaced improper panel cover screws.

Joey showed up on time. The service took time, but was well worth it. The wore booties on the carpet, cleaned up after themselves, and did a good job. Customer service was quick to respond to questions.
Description of Work: I had two wall sconces wired and installed along the stairway leading upstairs on an outside wall. A single ethernet line was run from my office upstairs through the attic and down an outside wall to my home theater pc downstairs. Four canned/recessed lights were installed in the master bedroom upstairs. An exhaust/light/1300 watt heater combo unit was installed in the master bath.

He explained what he was doing during the course of the work and what to expect, depending on what he found. Also reconnected loose wire in dimmer switch. Had some copper and some aluminum wiring, and he explained pros/cons.
Description of Work: Had excessive heat coming from HVAC breakers in the electrical panel found by home inspector. Those breakers had gone bad. Kevin Berry articulately explained the problem and how the panel works which I appreciated. Easy repair $375 for 2 breakers, could have been a big dangerous problem in a few years.

A very good experience. We will use Lightning Bug again.
Description of Work: We had the circuits changes on an outdoor fountain we had so that it would turn on and off with a timer. Several electricians had attempted this before, but Josh Masters was the only one to ask us how we would like it to be set up and then proceed to fix the problem professionally. We also had a switch we wanted to put on a different timer on the front door. I had the timer and Josh installed it only to find out that the person who last attempted this did it incorrectly and burned it out. He did show me exactly how to do it, so that I can purchase the right timer and do it myself.

On the phone, they told me a service call was $29.95 and they I would pay for the labor. I thought that sounded reasonable. It turns out the ceiling fan had a loose wire. They were here for 30 minutes, and they charged me $208! When they got here, they told me the minimum is $208.50! I would have never agreed to have them come out for this price. I had gotten a quote from a different company for an hour's work for $150.

I am sorry if there was a misunderstanding over the price that was given. At the time we performed the service for you, our travel fee was only $29.00. This fee does not even cover the cost that is involved in sending someone out. As for the work that was done the quote that someone else gave you was sight unseen. We actually went to the job diagnosed the job and repaired it. We give the price to all customers before we start any work, and if for any reason you do not agree with the price you do not have to have us do the work. Again I am sorry if you were not happy with our service, if you would like to call and speak with a manager please call our office at 770-792-9790 we want to make sure all our customers are 100% satisfied.
Mike arrived Saturday afternoon about 3:30. He stayed until about 9:30. Most of that time was spent trying to track down the GFI outlet and replacing the ceiling fan light kits. We had managed to hide the GFI outlet with a stack of boxes in the garage. We had no idea it was there. He was headed back to finish on Sunday, but it was snowing so bad, his boss sent him home. He was able to come back on Tuesday to finish up. He was very polite and professional and did a great job. We're very pleased with all the work he did.

The whole experience went perfect. Problem was as suspected, a fuse, John replaced it and it was done in short order. He was to the point, spoke in understandable terms and fun to have as a guest in my home. I wish the price was lower, but that is reality. I don't pay someone for what they do, I pay them for what they know. And John knows what he is doing! I will only call them again and request John for any future work.
Description of Work: My dryer did not work and the Maytag service man determined that I was only getting half the power and that it was likely a fuse. Josh, from Lightning Bug came out and did an amazingly quick job. He swiftly changed the offending fuse and then placed my dryer back in the correct position. My whole house attic fan stopped working. Josh Rogers came and did a diagnostic for about $220 and determined that the motor was burned out. The part needed to be ordered, so we scheduled the repair for a few days later. He came back and replaced the motor, and now it works great. The charge was $616, but he took an Angie's List coupon, plus credited me for half the cost of the diagnostic, so the total was about $700.
Description of Work: Josh determined that my whole house attic fan needed a new motor, and he came back a few days later and installed the new one.

It all went very smoothly. This had been my second estimate for the work and I was prepared to have the work done unless the cost was higher than the prior quote(which was very high). The electrician was on time, polite and provided a quote promptly. With some discussion the job and cost was decided upon. The job needed an additional worker and some supplies, after a short time both men returned and proceeded to do the work. Everything was left clean and the work completed. I would recommend this company.
