Excellent. Bob and his company were amazing to work with from initial consultation to completion. His men were always on time and very professional. We were kept informed every step of the way and at every stage. Bob kept to our budget and even completed the job ahead of time. I would definitely recommend Creative Basements and will use them in the future as needed.

The basement is beautiful; better than we had envisioned. We did a game room, family room, in-law suite, and full bath, and hardwood floors. We liked that it's a family business, and everyone was very responsive to our many questions. Their crews all did excellent work and were very patient and professional. They kept us informed of scheduling and completed the job well within the time parameters originally given us. I will use them again and recommend them highly.

My wife and I decided to finish the unfinished basement in our home. The space had been framed, but we sought to change the layout to better suit our family's lifestyle. We interviewed and received quotes from 5 basement finishing vendors and chose Creative Basements due to the quality of its projects, timeline to completion, quote, and ability to listen to our needs and make adjustments when needed. While our project hit a snag upfront with the local permitting, we otherwise had a smooth build. There were several design changes introduced, but Jason and Bob integrated those real-time and offered their own suggestions when we were unsure. Our finished basement has drawn rave reviews from our family and friends and while it was assumed to become a man-cave, the ladies in our household seem to have commandeered the space for their own. We've got exactly what everyone wanted and a basement that we're sure has added accretive value to our home.

We had picked creative Basements, based on all of their outstanding reviews on Angies List, and now that the project is completed, I know why they got those fantastic reviews. We told this family run business what our goals and ideas were , and they thoroughly explained all of the options we could choose from, and gave us an approximate cost of each. This way, we were able to get the maximum 'bang for the buck". The construction process went flawlessly, and Creative Basements finished ahead of schedule. The finished product was above our expectations. The quality of work was superior! Bob and Jason were extremely easy to work with, and the final price was exactly what they said it would be - No Surprises! I would highly recommend Creative basements to anyone who wants their contractor to: 1. Listen to what you want. 2. Wants an enjoyable experience with their project. 3. Wants the project done right the first time. 4. Wants the contractor to treat your home as if it were theirs? After hearing all of our friends "Contractor Horror Stories", we couldn't be more pleased with our selection of Creative Basements! and their cabinets are truly exceptional.

I met with 3 contractors before deciding to go with Creative Basements. I knew from the very beginning that they were organized and the best at what they do just based on their knowledge and confidence. This is a family business and they really make you feel comfortable about the whole process all the way through. Every question we had they were able to answer right away. The contract had a base price and then options were listed below. Once we made our decision, they gave us a draw schedule to pay as things were completed. We are very pleased with our finished basement.

Our basement is AMAZING!! We wanted a place that our family could gather and watch Sunday football and we got so much more. From start to finish the work was exceptional. Jason and Bob were so easy to work with and made this process as stress free as possible. Now we have a place to gather with our family and friends.......we can shoot a little pool, have a cocktail at the bar or just sit and watch the game on our big screen. My husband is also pleased because now he has a private office away from the noise of the kids. A beautiful bathroom was also constructed and in the office a cedar closet was installed. We are over the moon pleased!!!

While I was disappointed that Creative Basements wouldn't bid on the job I was very impressed with their professionalism and the fact that they didn't waste my time coming out for a job that was only $30,000 and not a big enough job for them to bother with. Thanks to Angie's list I have bids from two other highly rated contractors that have come up with some impressive ideas for how to give us everything that we are looking to do within our budget and I really would have been upset if I had taken off a day of work to meet with Creative only to find out that they couldn't meet my needs. Unfortunately some contractors will do this, knowing that often people can indeed spend a lot more than what they provide as a budget. We need more honest contractors like Creative Basements, it's a win-win for everyone when the contractor doesn't take a job that isn't worth their time but might be a great job for another contractor, and when the homeowner doesn't waste time coming to meet with them.

It went very well. Jason was a professional, stayed on all details, was flexible, honest and did what it took to meet deadlines. The work is very good, basement is beautiful. Workers showed on time, were respectful and followed up on any needs. The job was finished on deadline and Jasons approach was responsive, polite, respectful and diligent. We would highly recommend him for finishing a basement of any size and scale, the workmanship is high end and attention to detail is excellent. He works with you on your budget, is honest and follows up and through. He is creative as the name implies and you cannot go wrong with this choice. We would be happy to be a referral and hope to see others benefit from using this contractor.

I knew going into this project that they finished basements, kitchens, and bathrooms, but when I finally got to see the high level of quality and craftsmanship from not only one, but five different homes I was beyond impressed! IN each home that we visited together, and one that I went to on my own, the homeowners made nothing but stellar comments about their professionalism, attention to detail, and respect of the owners home, time, and budget. This was also apparent not only by witnessing the rapport between Bob, Jason, and each of the homeowners, but also by the mere fact that they agree to allow me into their homes to photograph the fine work performed by Creative Basements. Not only would I highly recommend them for finishing a basement or remodeling a kitchen or bathroom (which was the job in one of the homes I photographed), but I have already done so on many occasions since seeing their work and the interaction between them and their very satisfied customers.

Visit took place on 8/19/2014 and we were promised a bid by 8/25/2014. Contacted them when we did not receive the bid (as promised) and they explained that they had taken a vacation but would get me a bid within a few days. When they did not come through with a bid (again) I contacted them again and was promised a bid - which they still have not provided and today it is 9/11/2014. Seems they are more interested in vacationing than doing business. If they behave this way when trying to make a sale, I shudder to think what would happen if there were issues during construction. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Jason and Bob were very pleasant and easy to work with. Jason can quickly envision your plan and execute it in a timely manner. We spent a great deal of time drawing out the floor plan and hammering out the contract details upfront and they were very patient with our process. Our basement has exceeded our expectations and we are so proud of our investment into the project. We may have made most of the selections, but the craftsmanship and all of the small details shown by Creative Basements and their subcontractors, completely finish off the beauty of the space. We are extremely pleased with the work done for us by Creative Basements. They listened carefully to our vision for the basement and delivered excellent results. The coffered ceiling they designed and intalled exceeded our expectations. Creative Basements was careful to match the scale of the coffers to match the scale of our room (which is quite large). The workmanship is excellent. Creative Basements designed a custom bar that is perfect. They helped us work through deciding on the correct dimensions for the bar to be the right fit for an odd shaped room. We wanted a bar that looked like a bar didn't just look like kitchen cabinets. Creative Basements developed drawing that looked great. The finished bar is even better than the drawings. Jason Richards was very responsive to us. He was timely about returning calls, emails and texts. Jason did a good job of keeping us posted on schedules and what to expect. The main work was completed on time. The detailed follow-up was completed in a reasonable timeframe. We are extremely satisfied with Creative Basements.

The construction went extremely well. It was well organized and everything fell into place. The Kitchen turned out to look very elegant and exactly what we wanted. They were built by Creative Basements and turned out better than we even imagined. Everyone that has seen them just loves the Cabinets and Granite tops. My wife loves how the tile bathroom turned out, especially the shower. This is a family business and working with Jason and Bob was quite a pleasure. I will definitely call them for any future projects. My son also used Creative Basements when he had his basement finished and was as pleased as we were with the professionalism and work product of Jason and Bob Richards.

We started with 4 or 5 bids because it was a sizeable basement (2K sqft) and we had high expectations. Our goal was to finish the basement to complement the upstairs (similar finish to the rest of the house), have a liveable space (our parents were going to move in with us for a while since they were selling their house), and still have entertainment space for our family. Jason committed to doing a quality, and professional job without breaking the bank (per request, his proposal was very detailed). There were a couple parts we wanted to handle ourselves and Jason agreed. They started the job almost immediately which was a good sign. Their subcontractors are all first rate, we didn't have any problems with any of them. Any issues that come up during construction were quickly taken care of by Jason and his Father and the subcontractors. Everyone generally cleaned up, although dust containment was challenging. Bad weather during winter caused the project to take longer than scheduled. Regardless, the finished product was worth it. It's truly outstanding - a great looking, professionally finished basement that we're very proud of - our parents are already living in it and were very impressed.

Our house was built in 1953 so our basement refinishing project includes lots of challenges?moving the HVAC unit, rerouting duct work, camouflaging lally columns, cutting through brick and cinder block... Jason with Creative Basements came out for a consultation and was very prompt but it was obvious that this project was outside the scope of their expertise. He responded within a couple of days declining to bid on the project. I appreciate that they were upfront about their abilities and were prompt and responsive throughout our communication. Creative Basements would be a better fit for you if you have a framed out basement space that just needs "finishing touches." If you have an older home or a more complex renovation project, they aren't the company for you.

As with any project this size, you want to obtain at least three (3) bids. I chose all Angie's providers and obtained three estimates. All of the companies were reputable and well-reviewed. However, there was something I immediately liked about Creative Basements. Not the biggest player in the business, but excellent reviews for their hands-on attention to detail. In addition, I was not trying to create the Taj Mahal of basements, I just wanted to maximize the unfinished basement space and create a quality and modern living area. In the end, choosing Creative Basements was the right decision. Creative Basements is a father and son operation. Bob Richards and his son Jason participate in the process from start to finish. Not only was their bid on my basement $20,000 - $25,000 less then the other bids I obtained, but their work ethic and attention to detail is second to none. Not only that, but they are a heck of a lot of fun to work with; my regular interactions with both Jason and his father were both spirited and fun. They were always available for suggestions and amendments to the job. They were able to offer excellent suggestions on creative issues where I had drawn a blank. They drew up a first class set of blueprints for the work that were easy to read and follow. The quality of the work and the professionals they dispatched for each part of the process was beyond reproach. I am no novice to construction work and watched with great interest as framers, plumbers, electricians and others did their work on my basement. They were professionals with an eye to detail and perfection. After each part of the process, Jason and his father would review the work to ensure that it met with their standards and that I was satisfied. I was working within a budget and they were right on the mark. In the end, they took an unfinished basement space and, with design thoughts from my wife and I, and a few suggestions of their own, created a magnificent, modern finished basement. I could not be more satisfied and pleased with the work done by Creative Basements. If you are thinking about finishing a basement, do yourself a favor and contact these guys. Following the completion of my basement renovation, I can offer a full endorsement and glowing recommendation of the services provided by Creative Basements. From project initiation to completion of the smallest details, Bob and Jason Richards took the time to listen to our ideas and to offer up creative ideas of their own. A full basement renovation requires the coordination of many contractors, varying work schedules and last minute changes from a customer that likes things finished with the highest possible quality. Creative Basements outperformed my expectations in every one of these areas. Thanks to Creative Basements I not only have a jaw-dropping basement. including full bar, theater area, cedar closet, guest bedroom and gym, but I have substantially added to the value of my home. From the first time we met with Creative Basements to show them our unfinished basement, to the time they finished every last detail, we truly enjoyed working with them. As a family run business, we felt as if we were their only customer during the short time we worked with them. They were very professional and listened to our vision. They were able to take our vision and put it all together better than we could have expected. They were able to stay within our reasonable budget, yet still provided us a very high end look and finish to match the rest of our home. Some of the finishes include a high end bathroom with marble finishes, custom vanity and sleek lighting. In addition, my favorite feature may be the tray ceilings in our game room and theater room. We were unsure of adding hard wood floors but with Creative Basements expertise, we added high end hard wood oak floors and could not be happier. They stayed on the time frame agreed upon which was very important for us. We now have a wonderful retreat where we can get away, or spend time with the entire family watching movies or football. It's great having a gym with great gym flooring as well as a work shop to tinker. If you are thinking about finishing or remodeling your basement, do yourself a favor and call Creative Basements. We bought our house nearly 12 years ago and finally decided we needed to finish the basement or move to a larger house. Our key requirements were a bathroom, a small kitchenette, a play area for our 2 girls, a bedroom and an entertainment area (the man cave area). After some consideration, we choose Creative Basements During our initial walk through both Bob and Jason gave us good common sense options on how to best get what we wanted in our basement while staying on budget. Jason was especially key in this area giving us some great layout ideas that gave our basement a much better flow and usable space. Some additional insight was to move the kitchenette closer to the existing plumbing to save some money. As well he helped my wife and I settle the how to layout the bathroom debate once and for all. Some of the things that we never thought of like lights and plugs Bob made easy, he seemed to know exactly where to put everything and it made good sense to us. With the basement layout complete, Bob had the HVAC installed, the work was completed quickly and the HVAC tech even corrected a problem with our existing system which made an immediate difference upstairs. The walls, electrical and plumbing were next and while and Bob said our basement was ?easy? we were amazed with the progress at the end of each day. At some point my wife changed her mind on a closet and decided she wanted it to be bigger, we worked with Jason to complete this change without any impact to the overall schedule and with not eye rolling which was nice. While Bob managed the hard work, our sites turned to cabinet styles and colors. We had many options to choose from and finally choose a mission style kitchen door that would be painted dark brown. Jason completed several different CAD drawings and patiently worked with us as we changed our minds several times before finally agreeing on the final cabinet set. We also had no idea what we wanted for floor coverings. While its easy to think about hardwood or carpet all around Jason reminded us that certain areas need to be durable while others need to be livable, we ultimately decided on a split setup. We used a beautiful laminate flooring in the kitchen and dining area then carpet in the bedroom and entertainment areas. Tile in the bathroom rounded everything out. After about 4 weeks everything was all signed off and the dry wall was up and ready for paint. Before Bob began the trim work, I made it clear that I wanted all of the trim in the basement to fit correctly I have a pet peeve when it comes to trim. I don?t like gaps filled with putty or mistakes covered up. Bob assured me that he understood and they took great care to make sure the trim was installed very well. Our cabinets arrived and they are beautiful. It is always difficult to visualize what the cabinets will actually look like from a door or a picture but they were all that we had hoped. Also the construction was really well done with no particle wood you could see and feel the quality in the cabinet build. In no time we had our cabinets, countertops and sink installed. We choose a laminate top to save some money but again it was beautifully completed and looks amazing. Bob noted we needed to add a window to the bedroom area for safety something that none of the other contractors had mentioned. While the bed was just a room, Bob was able to mask an awkward concrete wall so we did not lose so much space also it gave us a beautiful shelf to put knick knacks on. The bathroom was very nicely done, we opted for a tub and a cabinet that matched the kitchen. We tiled the floor and bathtub area with a beautiful porcelain tile we found at a local outlet. Bob and Jason were happy to let us buy the tile and install it for us which was very nice as we spent days wondering through stores trying to find just the right thing. At some point during the construction I decided I wanted a wide screen tv cabinet set into the viewing wall as opposed to it simply hanging the screen on the wall. I sketched up the rough design and Jason took and ran with it. We had already completed the room it was in by the time Jason was able to get it completed. Jason and Bob installed this cabinet themselves to ensure that nothing was disturbed. Pretty good service indeed. Overall we stayed on budget throughout the process. We had good communication and both Jason and Bob did what they promised. I would definitely call them again.

My experience with Creative Basements has been very positive. Jason was able to take my vision and make it work in the space that I have. He introduced many creative solutions by listening and understanding to what I desired. The overall design process was very rewarding. It was fun to see ideas, that had floated around in my head for a couple of years, and have them find their way to paper and more importantly reality. They worked well within my budget, in fact helping me to make good economic decisions where it certainly would have been easier to let me over engineer something. They developed a clear and concise payment/draw schedule that allowed me to determine when work could be done without putting undue pressure on my cash flow. Overall the experience has been fantastic and now we have a wonderful addition to the house. I look forward to working with Creative Basements, on other home improvement projects, as they are not limited to basements.
