Casteel gives us a date they are coming and then a window of time that they are coming and then they call the morning before they come to let us know they will be there in 20 minutes. We have had no problem with them being late, not showing up, or trying to charge us everything. We love them! They always put little booties on over their shoes so they do not mess your floors up.

Casteel is a fine company. I highly recommend them. They send a technician twice a year to do a 25 point check of all units including carbon monoxide for safety. Since a couple of my units are in hard to reach areas, I appreciate that they also change the filters. I also like the written report that is included in every visit.

The two installers spent the entire day and performed well overall. There was a slight installation error that resulted in the basement zone not providing any heat over-night. But that was corrected the next day within four hours of my call to Casteel. The basement thermostat was also not correctly installed, but again the technician fixed that the next day as well. The installers left the house as they found it. You couldn't even tell they had installed an entire system after they left. Overall we're thrilled with the new Trane system and the comfort level for the area the system controlls has never been better. Casteel was great to work with. My next door neighbor also used Casteel and we both would highly recommended them.

The furnace worked for about 12 hours, then stopped completely again. I called the next morning to inform Casteel of the problem and they gave me a 4 hr window when someone would be out - I had to call repeatedly because the day was progressing and nobody called or came. Finally after I had to show anger they responded a a guy showed up in 10 minutes, but not the same guy as the day before. He basically had no idea why the furnace wasn't working but said he thought the flue needed to be cleaned and that they do not perform such tasks. So here I sit - out $457 and the furnace STILL doesn't work and Casteel could care less.

The only concern that I have about this repair is the cost charged for the Hard Start Kit. I had another AC unit repaired earlier this year and that unit had a Hard Start Kit installed along with some additional items. The Hard start Kit installed by Casteel was billed out at more than twice the cost as the prior unit installed by another A/C repair company. All said and done, Casteel did a good repair and the A/C unit is now working well.

We decided to get a second opinion, which we got from Casteel. They too noted the problem, however their cost for repair was considerably less, plus they offered a service contract which was better and less expensive than the previous one we had. They were quick to respond, very efficient and neat in their work and we look forward to a good, long relationship with them.

I have been very pleased with them for a couple of years. I spent a lot the last time they were here. The quality of work is good. They are responsive, punctual, and professional.

Great job! Install went as planned, site was left clean and operational after each day's work (job took two days). They did a professional job with a good attention to detail and respect for my home. I am pleased. While the price seemed a bit high, it is worth a bit more to have a quality, professional installation of high-quality equipment done right the first time by a company you can trust.

They were quite nice, but the price quoted by them was very high. They were about 900 dollars more than the other two companies that gave me an estimate.

They were one of three bidders for the job. The estimator was the most thorough - the only one of the three who actually measured the house, sized and inspected the existing ductwork and went back to the office to make calculations before recommending a system. The other two estimators were polite, but did a bunch of "don'ts" - didn't measure the house, just gave me an on the spot bid that replicated the existing equipment (which was installed before a large addition was completed), etc. The Casteel bid was competitive with one bid, both bids were 40% lower than the third. The installation crew was professional and on time. They cleaned up after themselves and appeared to be very knowledgeable. In the weeks after the installation I needed three service calls. One was a scheduled start up of the furnace, one repaired an install mistake and the third was for a minor component malfunction. Mistakes or malfunctions aren't ideal but happen. Their responsiveness was great -- in one case I had a technician at my house within an hour of my call. Casteel also told me about govt rebates available, the office staff has been helpful with req'd documents. One other bidder discouraged applying for the rebate due to the paperwork involved, but it should save me a lot of money.

Got a price to install a new AC and water heater, redoing some duct work, a new return and install new phlenums. After the installation was completed the unit didn't perform to the level it should have. They came back 3 times to diagnose the problem. Found the issue and fixed it. They also fixed a duct work that was left undone by the home builder at no additional cost. Then there was a problem with the thermostat and they came to verify/check to make sure it was working right.

Casteel did a GREAT job! The guys were on time, very quick, very professional and left the place spotless. They brought my furnace exhaust pipe up to current fire code (made it double-wall) as part of the standard service price. They did NOT have to install a new "concrete pad" as the other company claimed they would have to. And, only a breaker had to change on my electrical system panel. Casteel was HONEST and FAIR, and I have a great system that will be in place for the next 20 years (or more). The ability to finance the installation, along with the added attic insulation for "12 months, Same As Cash," is an awesome financing advantage to me.

I investigated 7 HVAC companies thoroughly using this list, BBB, a web site, personnel referrals; I had all 7 do on site evaluations and estimates. I chose Casteel based on quality, reputation, & trust I had in the sales person; 10 year warranty. Sales rep & installers were excellent - personable, efficient, knowledgeable. After installation, I had some problems with business office over billing and rebate paperwork. My letter to Mr. Casteel resulted in prompt apology and resolution. Then - I had bad luck 6 weeks after installation - the A/C unit (Trane) died. Installer was sent out promptly; he said I got the one-in-million bad condenser from the factory; replaced the unit promptly; no problems since (9 months ago). Sometimes the best measure of a company is how they handle problems; they handled mine well. They are not an overly large company and just do HVAC, which I liked. Based on installation experience, I will use them routinely for annual service.

Within 5 days of completion of the installation I got a call from my home security company stating that specific motion sensor wires and a back-up battery system had been tampered with, and that my home was no longer secure until they were able to get out there. My air conditioners have repeatedly had problems with freezing up, my lower level furnace leaks water all over the basement. This week a quality control expert from the Trane company inspected the job and stated that faulty wiring, ductwork, and circuitry were used. Regular maintenance of the filters by the homeowner is impossible due to the poor fit of the electronic system. I have had to hire a separate HVAC contractor to ensure the safety of my family, and anticipated several thousand dollars more in re-fitting and repairs in order to accomplish my original request. I am on my 8th day of absence from work. Member response on 6/24/09: I had another HVAC contractor come out along with the local representative for the Trane Corporation and they wrote a letter to me citing 13 errors in the installation of the system by Casteel. It cost me an additional $2800 to correct the errors, not including loss of income. The most worrisome error was in the wiring of the outdoor unit which was noted in the Trane Company letter to be a "fire hazard".

I have been a customer of Casteel for 4 years. They told me they could increase the efficiency of my heating and cooling by 30%. The work has made a difference. They also keep my Trane furnace and air conditioner running in tip top shape. After the work has been completed, they send you a survey card to get your opinion of the service. They are friendly and knowledgeable. If you have to call them back for any work they have done, they do not charge you. Their customer service is very good!

I was very pleased with the work performance of this company. They were very friendly and very prompt. They cleaned up all of their materials before leaving my property. The top rating that the members of Angie's List gives this company are very accurate and I will use them when needed for my heating and air.

I really like Casteel, they do very good work. They also do regular checks for me anytime I need them. They did very well with this job too. Casteel is a super guy. He is very efficient. I use him several times. He comes out two times a year for heating and cooling. I do not have a contract with them. I probably will soon. They are very reasonable priced too. I am in a ranch style home and I have one unit. I think they are very competitive for what I am paying.

I normally use Casteel, but I made the mistake of trying someone else when I had trouble with my central air units and the other company ruined my system. Casteel is a great company with fantastic people. They know what their doing and are very familiar with my system. They quite often don't even charge for the minor repairs needed.

I like that they are a family owned business. They are very reliable, responsive, and they are even available on holidays. I have used them before and they have always been on time. I also know that they are a very reputable company in my area as well.

My only complaint was that I did not really care for the sales person and it was a little pricey. As for the rest, everything went okay. Once they got here, they did not stop working until they were finished.

I think that they are a wonderful company and they do really good work. I have referred them to all my friends and relatives. The unit that they installed is fabulous; it actually looks like a picture.

We have a service contract with another company and were told we needed a new ac unit during a routine visit. The quote from the company we have a service contract with was almost 1k more expensive (with the same equipment)than Casteel. From Jordan the sales person to Robert and Cory who installed the unit I was very impressed. They went the extra mile during install to be sure their work was quality. I am sure you can imagine who I am going to get a service contract with next time!

Casteel was at my home less than three hours after I called. The technician diagnosed the problem quickly and within 30 minutes of the technicians arrival my heater was working. I would highly recommend Casteel. They are a great service and are very professional.

Once I was scheduled everything went according to plan. I was called the day before to confirm my appointment, and I was called the day of when the technician was on the way, which gave me plenty of time to get home from work. When the gentleman arrived at my home, he was very polite. He wore shoe covers in my home (I have new carpets) and was careful not to interrupt me while he was there. When I went into the basement to check on his progress he did not seem to mind my questions or my over the shoulder gawking. He was even nice enough to tell me what he was doing and why. I had a few minor repairs made (with the 15% discount promised to maintenance customer) and my units are running great. No complaints, no issues, just extremely satisfied.
