Description of Work: We purchased a complete Trane furnace and air conditioning system for our 19 year old home. Casteel installed the new system using the existing ductwork, added two air return ducts and one service duct, replaced most of the floor grilles, and hauled all of the old equipment away. | |The work was primarily done in November, 2013, but--after living with the system for both heating and cooling--we realized the additional returns needed to be moved in order to allow the system to work at its optimum efficiency. They had initially been installed in our partially-finished basement, which receives no input from the system. In early February, we called Casteel to explain the problem, and the person who had done the estimate and written the order for the workmen came to check it out. He agreed that the returns needed to be relocated, but he didn't follow through to schedule the work. My husband contacted the company again in late May, and two more gentlemen came out--separately, within a few days of each other--to determine the problem and resolution. |The work was then scheduled and completed on 6/20. | |Everyone that we dealt with at Casteel was very professional, prompt in keeping scheduled appointments, and diligent in the work that they did. The workmen were very respectful of our home, and cleaned up the areas in which they were working very well. It took nearly two days to do the initial installation, and the two installers arrived right on time each morning and did not waste anytime as they worked. They were really very good, careful, and wanted to make sure that everything was done properly. | |The gentlemen who came to check out the air flow problem--first Mark, and then John--were also very professional and listened to my husband's explanation of the problem & his opinion of what needed to be done to correct it. | |Chris and Jesse were the installers who completed the installation of the repositioned air returns on 6/18 and--again--they arrived a bit before the scheduled time, kept us informed of what they were to do and made sure we agreed with the location of the new ducts, did the work very well, and cleaned up when they were done. | |The system price was not the lowest estimate that we received, but we are very pleased with Casteel and would highly recommend them for their professionalism, the skill of their employees, and the quality of work that they do.

Description of Work: Never returned call to schedule estimate or give a quote. When I called to speak with someone about their lack of customer service, the executive I was referred to never returned my call. They advertise responses within an hour but don't seem to need the business.

Description of Work: Called just after 7am and Greg arrived about 10:30am, not time was promised. He was friendly professional and made sure everything was clean as he worked. He kept me informed of the process and the costs plus provided options.

Description of Work: I have used this company since Bob Casteel operated out of his truck in the evenings. This company has serviced every home I've had the last 20 years and will continue to do so. Most recently our upstairs unit (purchased and installed by Casteel in 2008) stopped working in the middle of a heat wave at night. I called first thing next morning and a technician was out that day. Immediately diagnosed the problem and a part had to be ordered. I was told may be 3-5 days. Part was in next day, installed and works perfectly. This experience is typical of this company. I have always been treated fairly and the work professional, quick, and competent. I must add that my wife has been amazed at how clean they always leave the work area. Not a better person or honest contractor exists!!Perfect!!!

Description of Work: I called to ask for someone to come out to give us an estimate on installing a split unit AC. I mentioned that I found them on Angie's List. After leaving messages two times over three days, they never returned my calls.

Description of Work: Estimated for and educated us in a heat pump and gas furnace. Heat pump was 16 SEER and furnace wad 80%. Installed an additional air return. Financing was available along with a rebate. Clean-up was good. The only thing that left me wondering was the pushing of the duct sealing for $2300.00 that we declined.
