Description of Work: |The HVAC system had been off for over a year when we purchased this house. Bartlett was right on time for both appointments, and called each visit about an hour before they arrived. The technician was thorough and willing to explain what he was finding and what the options were for fixing things. He recommended what fixes were essential and what could last a few more years. | |He did major surgery on the supplemental heat pump system, but the furnace (built in 2001) was DOA from a heat exchanger crack. He used his inspection camera to show me the crack and said that it was in a place typical of the brand of the heat exchanger after 15 years. I researched this on a HVAC website and found it was indeed true. | |He made a proposal with three options for new furnaces, from basic to deluxe. After more internet research I asked about a slight variant to the middle price model which would cost about $200 more. He provided good information not available from the internet on this model, and said I would be placing a bet on the longevity of the AC condenser, but the extra $200 feature could extend the life of that unit. Throughout the sale I felt he was a collaborator working to meet my needs rather than a salesperson pushing a solution based on his commission. | |Overall it was one of the best experiences I have had in making an expensive purchase in recent years.

Description of Work: This company did an excellent job diagnosing and correcting my problem with my central dehumidifier manufactured by Aprilaire. Chris arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem as low freon. The only repair for low freon is complete removal and replacement of the equipment. Chris noticed my equipment was still under warranty and offered to file the required paperwork for me. The next day the install team arrived on time and efficiently removed and replaced the unit. The equipment has been running perfectly ever since. Special note: I originally hired Schumate to complete this job. After multiple visits I found them to be either unwilling or unable to help me with this issue. I would characterize their performance as HVAC malpractice.

The price is reasonable. I am not sure exactly how much it is but they are not high. They are always on time and make sure to get the job done quickly and correctly. I would recommend them to other people as they are great.
Description of Work: We have a maintained agreement with them to come and take care of the heating and air units in my four bedroom home. They clean them and make sure that everything is working properly two times a year. We pay them yearly for the service.

Bartlett did good. It did cost a little more than average, but only because of the duct work in the basement. It was still worth it though.
Description of Work: I had a three ton air conditioning unit installed in my three bedroom home by Bartlett. They also had ran all new duct work through the entire full basement of the home. They had to take out the old ducts and replace with new ones.

Our air conditioning went out on Sunday Aug 13th at 7:30PM and we had two newborns (twins,) so we needed our A/C service fixed immediately. We called Bartlett and left a message and Michael F. and he returned the page within 15 minutes. I told him the situation and he was very up front about emergency rates. I agreed and he told me his ETA would be approximately 45 minutes. He arrived within that time-frame. Michael diagnosed the problem within five minutes and had it fully repaired within I guess 15 minutes. He didn't mind that I hovered around him and I probably asked too many questions. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in energy savings and auto-switchover thermostats. I have generally had bad experiences with contractors, but I have found one that I will happily retain for all of our HVAC needs. I mentioned that I found them through Angie's list on the answering machine, and Michael gave me the discount even though I didn't remind him during the service call. Very happy custom

Prompt service with knowledgeable and cordial technicians. Ease of scheduling. Reasonable price. Although I had not asked for the Angie's discount before the work, a refund for the amount on service calls was sent after I had paid for the work in full.
