Bartlett Heating and Cooling has been a 5 star performer in every category for the twenty plus years we have used their service. We have had two systems over that time frame, only because lightening struck our a/c system two years ago and burned a pinhole in the natural gas line on the furnace. They worked with us to discount as much as possible a totally new system and our insurance company took care of the payment. we maintain annual contracts on the systems and that goes a long way to keeping costs under control. Maintenance is performed each cooling and heating season and usually requires a new filter and we are good to go. Great company. Dorothy H.

Buyer beware with Bartlett Heating & Cooling. I called Barlett Heating & Cooling to replace a condensate pump on a mini split system. When I called to schedule the appointment, I said, "Please go ahead and bring a new condensate pump. It needs to be replaced." Instead, they performed a "Level 2" service on the existing condensate pump. I guess the "2" in "Level 2" means two hours. Because that's about how long the pump worked after the technician left. That service call cost me $323.00. I called them back to schedule another service call and was expecting some sort of discount to replace the broken condensate pump (which is what I originally requested). When I asked for consideration to an additional $634.00 bill from Bartlett, the answer was an unapologetic "No discount." So $957 for a new condensate pump is a ripoff.

I am truly sorry that you feel this way. The $ 323 service call was not just to service the condensate pump. We also restored cooling to one of your other systems, as well as worked on your mini split (which is the system you are referencing). Yes, you did say that you felt your mini split needed a new pump. Our trucks are very well stocked and we do carry condensate pumps. However, your condensate pump not a standard pump, but unique to your model of mini split, which we would have no way of knowing until we got to your home. And to even access the mechanical components within a mini split system takes time, as I am sure you know. As a company, it would be unprofessional of us NOT to look at the system to provide an accurate diagnosis. When we arrived, your system was leaking water. When we left, it was not leaking. We did recommend and quote to replace the pump if it continues to leak (which it did). That does not negate the work we already performed. The flip side is that we could have replaced a pump that did not need to be replaced (either by going by what you thought was the problem, or by not doing a thorough diagnostic and at least trying to clear the pump tube to restore cooling until the part could be replaced). To state "$ 957 for a new condensate pump", is inaccurate and unfair to state, especially on a public forum. Customer satisfaction is very important to us, so any time we do not achieve that, it is also a disappointment to us.

We have a contract with Bartlett to check our HVAC system twice a year. I noticed a little water in the ductwork behind my air filter and called Bartlett last week. They had a technician here within a couple hours who assessed the problem, included me in the process and fixed it. We were close to our regular service date, so he wrapped that general system inspection up while he was here. From the person who answers the phone to the one who comes to our condo whenever we have a problem or for regularly scheduled service, we always receive friendly, excellent, timely service from the folks at Bartlett. Definitely recommend them highly.

We had 2 new HVAC units installed by Reliable Heating & Air 6 years ago and signed up for their maintenance plan. Our upstairs unit went out Thursday night, so I called Reliable to get someone out ASAP. I was told I'd have to wait until Monday. This was obviously unacceptable since it's over 90 degrees out. Friday morning, I called Bartlett and was told that they could have a technician out Friday night. The office staff was amazing. They even called before the office closed to let us know that the technician, would be out shortly. The tech came out and quickly diagnosed the problem and got it fixed. He also discovered that the previous company had installed the wrong size air conditioner filters. We immediately changed our maintenance plan over to Bartlett. The technician was great - friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. We're hoping he'll be the technician that comes out to service our AC units in the future. 5 stars!!!!!

Our HVAC system on the main level of our house went out (furnace from 1987 and air conditioner 1989 so we were on borrowed time). I called to five different companies, and Bartlett was the only one that didn't try to scare me into buying a unit via trigger pull; they allowed me time to think, gather more quotes, and work at my own pace. I used an original quote from the first company to base everything else off of, and when I called the office they were upfront and honest about their scheduling. They informed me on how far out they were and they even were able to get me on the phone with Travis, who not only knew my neighborhood but could give me a ball park figure as to to what I could expect. They then sent Dusty out to give a formal quote and I am beyond thrilled. He took just enough time to explain everything fully, but not too much time to where I thought he overstayed his welcome; lets just say he also took the time to get to know a little bit about us which I appreciate and love about a home grown company. He broke everything down on what items I would need, the price of each component we could upgrade to (which were financially manageable less than $200 per item), and he then told us how to save the most money by ordering our filters for our units and having the technicians install them with our service plan. He informed me he is salary and not commission based, so there would be no scare tactics involved. He knew we didn't work in the industry so he informed us of all the information about the HVAC system that we would need based on the size of our home; which he then calculated off the top of our head with only having seen the basement and the tonnage of our current AC units. He was only 100 square feet off.....(IMPRESSIVE)!!! I remembered based on the call with Travis that there was an air scrubber/purifier that I could add on, and Dusty presented that to me as well, and they did not pressure me into buying it; however I decided based on our pets and children with dust allergies and asthma to go ahead an add it on (based on my decision alone). Now, here is the icing on the cake, they were able to do my install three days later by working their employees overtime so I didn't have to sit in the heat for a week and a half later. I honestly cannot begin to express my enthusiasm with this company! Our install will be done on Saturday and today is Wednesday and I will happily do another review on the install separate from the sales team which I don't anticipate being anything but amazing!

Had heard good things about Bartlett in the community. Scheduled a service call as a new customer and got the 'next available' appointment. I called to check status when it was a few minutes prior to the time (had been told the service tech would call when en route) and was informed (accurately) that it would be a 30-40 minute delay. Mr. Tommy arrived, after the promised call, in a well marked service van, in uniform and proceeded to address the problem. Very professional, very courteous, very informative and a pleasure to deal with. 'fixed' filter door not replaced properly, added refrigerant and system 'sealer'. I signed up for an annual service contract when I paid for the service call. Mr. Stamps is a stellar representative of a family owned business that lived up to its good reputation. I expect that if all Bartlett's employees are anything like him, they will always have my business.

We have a service contract with them. They call me every year. It's easy, and if something goes wrong, they come out quickly. I don't have to go find somebody when something goes wrong. Also, we had a very old unit downstairs, and they would say, "oh it's going, but it's still good". They did that for 10 years, so they are not out to gouge you. They send the same guys. We have had three guys, and we know about their children, and how they are in soccer, and what their doing. It's really nice.

First the backstory: My HVAC system was installed a little under 6 years ago by the behemoth HVAC company in the Atlanta area. I have paid that same company for winter and summer maintenance every year since the installation. I haven't been overly happy with that company for a number of years, but friends and neighbors told me that company is the best available and I couldn't do better. Last summer, I had to have a Freon recharge for my system and I was told because the system (at that time) was 5 years old, it was fairly routine. In March of this year, I got a call from the behemoth asking if they could do the summer maintenance early and I agreed. They supposedly cleaned the system and checked to make sure all was good. I paid them the usual $169 and assumed all was fine...until it started to get hot. The unit would not cool my house to less than 76 degrees on an 80 degree day. I decided I had had it with the behemoth and started looking for a local company. I am glad I did. Here are the pluses of using Bartlett: 1) I called on a Friday and was able to schedule an appointment for first thing Monday morning (I was away for the weekend; so they may have come earlier, but Monday worked best for me). Shannon, who took the call, was concerned, professional, and made me feel confident they would take care of the problem. 2) Jerry, my tech, called me 20 minutes before he arrived to let me know he was on his way and arrived in my driveway at precisely the time he said he would be there (8:00 AM). 3) Jerry listened to me, heard my concerns about the previous company I used, asked about the history of the unit, and got to work. He thoroughly looked over the system and he told me what the problem was (low Puron with a possible leak in the coil) and we discussed options. At no time did he steer me toward the most expensive fix, but rather listened to my situation and needs, and we both agreed on a practical solution. 4) He was incredibly efficient and neat. By the time he was finished, the unit was working correctly and was as clean and quiet as the day I first purchased it. He even cleaned the condensate pump. I NEVER had that level of service from my previous company. 5) By far, Jerry was the most professional and efficient tech I have ever dealt with. 6) To top it all off, the cost was about 10-15% less than what my former company would have charged. I am so pleased I called Bartlett. The communication and professionalism alone would have been reason to switch, but they also provide a level of care and concern that rarely exists these days.

They are very good. Very professional, and very thorough. I have heard a lot horror stories about up charging. I told them I was concerned about my unit. It was louder than my neighbor unit. I thought he probably would have to charge me for all kinds of stuff. He said ma'am its not a big deal at all, you got a screw loose, causing the unit to rattle. He was very honest. I thought the pricing was fair.

This is your standard shady HVAC company. They quoted me $500 to replace a capacitor that cost me $15 at Fox Appliance Parts and took 5 minutes to replace. Just out of curiosity, I talked to another company (A-team) who quoted $40 to replace a capacitor. It's truly deplorable behavior for a company and it makes you wonder how man people they've swindled

Response from Bartlett Heating & Cooling Inc
Good morning Mr. [Member Name Removed], I am sorry that you were not pleased with our service. Our goal is to provide 100% satisfaction to every customer. It is very important to note that we did NOT quote you $ 500 to replace a capacitor. Was it more than $ 15? Yes, it was. Because we use only high quality, American made capacitors, our cost of the part is more than the $ 15 you spent to purchase it from an appliance store. There are huge differences in types and quality of capacitors available! We have found that using lesser quality parts results in premature component failure and equipment break-down. The $ 500 quote was for more than just a capacitor, as our Technician provided other options to make a more complete repair to restore your system. You were also given the option to replace only the capacitor, which was far less than $ 500. Our experienced NATE and EPA Certified Technician not only addressed the exact component that had completely failed today, but also provided you with the information and options you need in order to ensure that your HVAC system would be more dependable, while saving you money on utility bills and future maintenance and repairs. Often times when a components fails, it is a symptom of a bigger problem. It is our job to give you the expert advice on what should be done to repair today's problem as well as what can be done to help prevent future break downs. Plus, our service comes with a minimum 1 year warranty and a satisfaction guarantee. Can you purchase and replace parts yourself cheaper? Of course you can! Out of curiosity, I called and spoke with the owner of A Team this morning and their price to replace a capacitor is well over $ 40. According to him, the $ 40 was an over-the-counter sale of the part, but not to have a Service Technician diagnose the problem and install the part. In fact, our service prices are quite comparable. It is never fun to receive a bad review. Everyone at Bartlett takes great pride in providing outstanding service to each client, and it stinks to get a poor review, especially when it contains such inaccurate information. Of course I wish that you had called us to talk about this first, as our goal is 100% customer satisfaction. Best wishes, Shannon Bartlett

Our upstairs HVAC conked out on a hot Saturday afternoon. The compressor on the outdoor unit was running, but the fan wasn't. I knew I as probably looking at a bad capacitor or worse - a bad fan motor. I called around and no one could come out until Tuesday. With temperatures in the mid-90s every day, it looked like me, my wife, and our 18-month old were going to sleeping in an 85 degree house the next 3 nights . Then I called Bartlett. Their super nice scheduling lady said they couldn't come out that night, but could schedule me for the next morning (Sunday). I took her up on it, but to my surprise she called back 20 mins later to tell me they'd had a cancellation and could fit me in right away! Gerald showed up soon after, quickly diagnosed a bad capacitor (my wallet was happy it wasn't the fan motor!), and swapped it out in no time. He finished around 9:30 and although he still had 2 more calls that night, he was totally professional and very personable the whole time. I was so impressed that I signed up for a 1 year maintenance agreement right then and there. Very pleased with Bartlett Heating & Cooling!
