Total Comfort Cooling & Heating

I've been using Total Comfort for approximately 29 years, and I've been very happy with their services for the past few years. Their technicians are personable and knowledgeable, they do good work, and they charge a reasonable price for their services. The only issue that I've had recently is that they quoted me a price of $6000 to install a completely new system, and this seems exorbitantly high to me.

I've been using them since they installed the heat pump in 2008, and everything has been going very well. The company always responds quickly to any issues or problems, its technicians are very knowledgeable, and they've always been reliable in terms of completing work on schedule regardless of any mitigating factors like weather or delays.

It was a great experience, and I was very happy. Jeffeory, the technician who did the work, was very nice and professional, and he went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy with the service. He worked very hard during the entire project and never complained even when he had to work in the rain and in several inches of water under the house. Furthermore, he did a great job with the installation and the new Lennox unit is running just fine. I'd definitely recommend his services.

The technicians had lots of expertise, were very polite and courteous, and did a good job with the installation. They were even nice enough to wear booties on their feet so that they wouldn't dirty the house while they worked.

It was Friday afternoon when I discovered my air conditioner was not working. After trying several times to get it started with no success, I called Total Comfort. The serviceman was there in less than an hour. As usual he was neatly uniformed, very polite and mindful of tracking leaves into the house. He examined the unit and reported the damaged wire and capacitor to me. He gave me a break on the price of the repair because another serviceman from his company had been here only about a week earlier and was the last person to touch the unit, meaning he may have caused the problem, or, at least, not identified it at that time.

I've been using them for several years, and I've always had good experiences. At my request, they send the same technician each time, and he's honest, timely, and knowledgeable. Furthermore, he gets right to work and does a good job. The only reason I gave a grade of "B" for the price is because I feel that one should get more than a 5% discount if signing up for a service contract.

We've been using their services for at least fifteen years, and we've been very happy with them. They've always been fair with respect to pricing, they do their best to get to us as quickly as possible, and they consistently do a quality job.

I have been using them for about four or five years since they installed my hvac system, and everything had been fine until the ownership of the company changed. Specifically, I spoke with the new owner about replacing some undersized ductwork that was under warranty, and he promised to do some research and call me back with his findings. However, he never followed up with me personally and instead had an office worker call me to say that nothing could be done about the ductwork. Ultimately this was a disappointing experience.

My husband and I have used this company for 19 yrs. It has had 3 management changes-Massengale's, Service Experts, and last year became Total Comfort Cooling and Heating. Early on after we purchased our home-we got the twice annual maintenance agreement. Once before heating season and once before cooling season. All components of the heat pump/AC are serviced and maintained. Preventative maintenance is a smart investment in your home-and you are given a discount on repairs when something needs fixed. Their personnel have been consistently excellent and sharp. On our first servicing-the technician was putting the components back in place-and his sharp eyes spotted a crucial wire that might vibrate loose when the unit came on. He quickly fixed it, noting "You'd be calling us if this came loose at 2:30 a.m." Another found a circuit board on an outside unit had been damaged when there were 2 power surges in our subdivision after someone had dug and cut electric and cable to the subdivision. {Please be sure to call 811 if you may have to dig near utilities-your neighbors will thank you.} We hadn't known it was damaged-and it caused our heat to run on the heat strip for 3 wks!!! A huge electric bill-all because someone couldn't be bothered to call 811 before digging. Total Comfort's technician's are always prompt, take care to keep things clean, and answer questions asked. They don't use technical terms you can't understand-but give a simple, concise explanation. The young man who came Tuesday 24 June was James-and another fine example of this company's great personnel. He did his job efficiently, answered questions, made recommendations-and did one small thing extra-that was so appreciated. Tuesday was garbage day-and the trash folks had left our can on its side in the street. James quickly got it in and put it beside the garage where we keep it. This small favor was above and beyond his job description-but good manners always make a favorable impression. James was polite and exceptionally competent. In all the years we've used this company-we've only had two fairly major repairs-which were discounted because of the annual maintenance agreement. We recommend Total Comfort Cooling and Heating. They will take care of your heat and AC needs-and do it with a smile and efficiency.

I was given a quote for replacing my heat system upstairs . I was advised I would receive a call back within a week. I had to leave several messages and when I did finally speak to the supervisor he changed the rate 3 times and lied what the quote was going to cover.

Received an estimate on Monday that was competitive for a better quality unit. Installed by Saturday. Installers were professional and left everything clean. Have had a couple of issues with new unit but they have done a great job resolving those issues. Service people are great. Their scheduling "call center" leaves something to be desired... If not for the call center I would give them an "A".

It went very smoothly. The estimate was complete and included all work. The installers were on time and completed the work efficiently, and ensured everything was tested before they left. A manager came a few days later to sign off and verified that all way done correctly. It was done right and everyone was courteous. The installers wore boot protectors in the house and used floor covering to ensure nothing in the house was disturbed.

I .I didn't have them come out.

One of the workmen became ill and it slowed the installation by about three days but that was the only glitch.

I called Service Experts on the recommendation of a friend who has their service contract. I was a little concerned that there would be a hard sell for the service contract, but was pleasantly surprised -- it was offered, but not pushed. The technician arrived earlier than expected, but called ahead to ensure that was okay. The technician was very professional. He explained that the repair charges are based on a fixed price and showed me the schedule of prices. An electrical breaker had malfunctioned in my a/c unit and he repaired it for $292.00. The $99 service fee for the visit was waived as an Angies list customer. The whole visit was about 1-1.5 hours.I am pleased with the service and I would use this company again.

They are very professional and thorough. They did a good job for me.

Service Experts Heating & Air did a great deal of work. When you're hot they get up and they come out and make you happier. They get done really quickly in most cases especially if you have a service contract, you get preferential services. I've used them for years.

Everything went very well. They did a good job, punctual and easy to work with.

Once you get past their call center... everything went great. Chip, who provided the estimate, did a great job. We got several estimates. SE price was very competitive and they did an excellent job explaining what we needed. Installers were great. On time, professional and left everything neat and clean. All in all a great experience!

The two men that came on two seperate days were very professional and polite.

We have a service contract with them and so, it was free. The service contract cost us under $200 a year for both heating and air conditioning. One of their guys lives two streets over and I am happy to have him in my house. We had trouble with our air conditioning and heating last year. I have had a total of six of their people in my house over the year. I have invited five of them in and sat down for dinner with them as they are great guys. They are totally welcome in my house. They are very respectful of the house and so, they don't track dirty foot prints. They show up right away if you have their service contract as you get priority service. I would grade them very highly for my overall experience with them for their repairs but they did not do very well with their pricing for a new system. They quoted us but we have not put in a new system yet because we are worried about the price as it is not that great. I really like them. I am not sure if I would buy a full system from them because they are owned by Lennox and so, they only do Lennox systems. I would rather have Trane system for my house. I would use them for repairs and they could do anything here except for the installation of a new system.

They had an $84.00 Diagnostic charge. They advised me if I used them they would waive that fee. I found out that the parts to replace this would cost about $170.00. I believe I was overcharged for having them fix my air conditioner.
