Went well. very professional and did everything they were asked. pleasant to work with. would have them back again.

They did an excellent job and I'm considering hiring them again for two additional small jobs. Did not try to rush - had to schedule second time to come back after first coat of paint dried (other companies might try to slap on second coat, call it done and walk away). I was also pleased that the crew was willing to take on a couple of other small projects while they were there, that I had forgotten to discuss with Ben Hawkins, who came out initially to quote the work. Saved me time and unnecessary cost of a second service call. Price was a little higher than some companies, but I wanted the doors hung correctly and was willing to pay a little more. Was a little concerned at first because provider's on-site quote did not match what I was told over the phone - but we were able to work it out when we went back and reviewed the math (price per door, Angie's list discount, etc).

The provider entered the house and looked at the rooms that I wanted evaluated for decorating ideas. She suggested paint colors, wallpaper, and furniture placement.

The guys were great and even got along with my three dogs!

They accomplished everything they said they would and it turned out better than we imagined. People have stopped by our house asking who the painters were. I don't blame, the house looks great. The staff was awesome.

I received a call to schedule an appointment almost immediately, which was encouraging. The rep showed up as scheduled and she helped me select paint colors and took measurements for potential window treatment options; however I never heard back from her with follow up pricing and ordering information as promised. The colors were helpful but lack of follow up was disappointing. I am owed an additional hour of service (paid for 2, received 1). At this point I'm writing it off.

I purchased a Big Deal for 2 hours of Interior Design and Color Consulting Services. Sandra was a pleasure to work with, offered good tips for decorating the house & selecting colors that blend well.

They did great! The woman who came out went through the whole. I thought it was great for the price.

Exterior painting and repair work. This is a company that works with you in integrity. Friendly and helpful job-site workers and office staff. In writing, the company clearly stated the terms of their contract, insurance, price and that their workers are their employees. Every thing was kept simple and above board! Would use again . . .

They came by and looked at the house, we had a nice visit, they listened did some measurements, said they would get back with me and I have not heard from them since. | |

I called Monday morning and spoke with Mr. Hawkins about painting a room in the basement that had been a playroom with little kid colors, that we now are turning into a teen hang-out. Because the rain was keeping them from outside jobs, he was able to send Jeff out that morning to give a quote. The quote included the price of the paint, and a very generous Angie's list discount! They were able to come out this morning (a crew of two) and complete the job in five hours or so -it's a large room, needed two coats, and they were painting some door frames as well. They were expert painters and very efficient. Excellent job and I will definitely be using them again. Now, the only problem is that the room looks so good... I don't want my kids to go in there.

Sandra is fantastic! I cannot believe the amount of work we got done in two hours. We rearranged my boring den. It excites me every time I walk in because the space is so open and cozy now. The furniture looks so much better in the room! We moved pictures and furniture from one room to another to create spaces that "worked" to provide something of a theme. It looks so much better. She gave me tips about color. We decorated my kitchen. AND I was able to show her some things I wanted to do outside that she said the construction end of the job can take care of for me. Sandra is the BEST!!

I stumbled across Sterling Paint and Construction through an Angie's List Big Deal for one hour of interior design consulting. I mainly wanted some help figuring out which walls in my home to paint a consistent color vs. switching to a different color. Sandra arrived on time. (Actually, she arrived a little early and called to see if that was okay, which was great.) When I first met her, I was concerned that she might not "get" my earthy/bohemian style since her personal style was more traditional than mine. However, I learned not to "judge a book by its cover"... Sandra was very comfortable to work with, and when I apologized for some of my less-than-ideal furniture, but she didn't make me feel judged at all. In addition to giving good advice about which rooms to paint a consistent color, she also gave me some great recommendations for how to rearrange my furniture. I used all of those recommendations and my living room has a much better flow to it now. She even called and left a message later with one more suggestion about where to move a lamp. I have to admit that when I initially purchased the deal, I questioned how much I could get out of one hour. It was really worth it. For the price of a meal out, I got the extra input I needed about my furniture arrangement and my home feels cozier as a result. I was also concerned that I might come across as cheap for only purchasing an hour, but Sandra didn't make me feel at all judged about that either. She was very kind and comfortable to talk to, and she made that hour worth it with some great advice. When I can settle on a paint color, I plan to call them back to get an estimate on painting my place.

I was in the process of moving in (downsizing) and wanted help with arranging furniture and pictures. Bought a "big deal" and feel like it was a waste of money. Perhaps I had the wrong expectations, but decorator and I did not "click" at all. She mostly told me what I knew already and made only two suggestions that I will use. She did say she would come back and hang pictures for a reasonable price. However, I have no confidence that she could do that without help. Consult felt more like a neighbor had come in with suggestions, rather than a professional. In that regard, she talked about a lot of her personal stuff. Maybe that is her way of connecting, but it was way too much information for me. She was a nice woman and said she has been a decorator for lots of years. Like I said, maybe my expectations were not realistic or maybe it was a personality conflict, but it did not work for me. If I had paid more than the "big deal" price, I would Be REALLY unhappy.

What a difference these people are!! My experience with painters in the past, was always less than I had hoped. Jeff Lowry came to do the estimate and was the nicest and most professional person. This was my first estimate and had planned on getting several more. A few days after the estimate, we noticed a piece of siding lying on the roof. (Jeff had not been on the roof). Once we got on the roof, it was obvious that boards from the chimney were completely missing, leaving large holes. Desperate to close it up before rain, and critters found their way in, and not really knowing a handyman, I called Jeff back and told him my observations. He sent his crew over the next day and found the whole back of the chimney needed repair. Mario, Jose', and Ricky worked hard and were very professional. Mario even took pictures of the chimney before and after so I could see his work. Needless to say, they got the whole job. They also stained my deck and I was pleasantly surprised that the painted it by hand, not sprayed on. Mario said he likes the result better that way. As said in previous reviews, they took pride in their work- and made sure I wss happy with the end result. I will certainly use them again!

Mrs. Hawkins was very polite and very sweet. I've never used a decorator before so was a bit intimidated to use. She was almost too friendly. Spent quite a bit of time discussing her personal life which was fine but I needed more focus. I felt like when I asked for input I got a lot of, "You can do whatever you want to do" responses. I recently moved into a home where the previous owners had very different tastes than I do and I really needed some professional suggestions of how to start and what to do. While she was extremely pleasant, I don't feel I got much out of it.

I called him and told him what I needed done and he said he'd send me a quote. He did send quote on a timely basis. I felt the quote was to high and told him not to proceed with requested job.

From the first encounter when I received an estimate, the people at Sterling were very professional and it was clear that they take pride in their work. I selected them because they had no rating in Angie's list lower than a "B", and 85% of their ratings were "A". Their bid was almost $3000.00 lower than the highest bid I received from one of their competitors and about $1000.00 more than the low bid. My sense was that they would deliver value, and I have to say, they exceeded my expectations. Every employee was courteous. They did a good job in keeping me informed about the progress of the work. It took longer than I expected to complete the job, but they explained why and I appreciated that. I felt like they cared about my home. My wife changed the color selection and they were good about working with her to her satisfaction. They guarantee their work for 5 years and the gutters for 30 years. All in all, I cannot imagine a company doing a better job. The owner of the company called me to inquire about my satisfaction while the work was in progress, and told me to call him directly if I was unhappy for any reason. They did not ask for any deposit and did not ask to be paid until they were certain that I was satisfied. I would definitely use them again and definitely recommend them. They are not the lowest price but you will get your money's worth based upon my experience.

The pace of the work was initially alarmingly slow, stretching out more than a couple weeks, but once they started in earnest they moved quickly and practically wrapped up the job within 3-4 days. Everything looks very good: They do high-quality work. Ben and Jeff and the rest of the team have been quite nice and professional. Ben (the owner) was obviously concerned about the rocky and slow start -- he turned things around, to our satisfaction and great relief. We strongly recommend them.

All involved were on time and worked with few breaks. Did everything that was estimated to do and in a timely manner. Did a great job of painting all over hangs,gutters and exterior doors. Carpenters did a great job of replacing rotten cornice boards and decking boards and installing a new roof ventilator. All went out of their way to make sure we were happy with the results.

I am very pleased with the overall exterior painting and repair on my house by Sterling Paint & Construction. They did an excellent job and I would definitely use them again! I received three quotes before having my house painted. Even though Sterling was not the least expensive, they had the best reviews on Angie's List and I know I made the right choice. Ben Hawkins, the owner, was wonderful to work with. His staff is very professional and friendly. I will not hesitate to use them again!!!

They responded quickly to my initial contact and had a quote to me within 2 days. The crew was always on time, courteous, and cleaned up at the end of each day. The work was excellent and they completed the job as scheduled even after I changed the scope of work to include the deck. Overall an excellent experience and the cost was good.

Excellent a very high quality job I would use them again.

Very well on the whole but they left a small spot a little ragged where an old bracket had been, but I guess I can patch it. We would use them again. Price seemed a little high but maybe not.
