The response was immediate via phone. The person who contacted me via phone was pushy about scheduling. I let them know I would call them when I needed the service.

They do excellent work. They were very professional. Their quality of work and clean up was very good. They were very easy to work with.

The final product was quality work that met my expectations. It took a little longer than I had wanted from the start of the project to the completion but the quality and price were above my expectations.

Following some miscommunication and initial disappointment I decided to contract with Ben for the job above. His crew was on time, professional and completed the work in a timely manner.

Phone call to business was placed on a Monday and was answered by Ben. Explained I needed estimate and gave him what need to be completed. He said he would need to see the house to determine the amount of the estimate but he wouldn't be able to do any painting until the following month. Gave my name, phone number, address and directions to the house. Ben said he was familiar with the area. He stated he could meet the following day in the afternoon - he had to be in Alpharetta and Roswell in the morning. The next day came and Ben never showed and never called.

The man that I spoke most often was a guy named Ben. He never came to the job site and I spoke to him on the phone. There were a couple of problems and they were very responsive in having them addressed. He really should have been more on the job site for quality control. I would use them as I don’t have a problem with them. They came right back and fixed the small things.

We are building a new home in Gainesville, Ga. Our builder will only paint the interior walls of homes they build in a shade of either white or tan.We prefer more colorful paint so we decided to hire a painter to paint all of the interior walls of the home . I selected three A rated Angies List painting contractors and emailed them a request to provide me with a bid based on the detials of the specs i provided to them at that time. I invited them to visit the home and go through it to develop a firm bid if they were interested in the job, but was initially looking for a general ballpark estimate based on giving each contractor the identical specs. The same day as i emailed my request I received an estimate from Ben Hawkins , the owner of Sterling Paint. It was as detailed as it could be without a physical inspection of the house and was exactly what i was looking for to help me zero in on approximately how expensive painting the house was going to be. Ben's estimate was the first one i received and i was very impressed by the speed of response, the details of the bid and the appropriate "conditions" he made clear the estimate was based on. His estimate as i recall was approximately $3250 or thereabouts, and i felt that had i continued to work with him and arranged for a physical inspection , his final estimate would have been somewhat higher than the other bids i subsequently received from the other two painting companies. As a result i decided to not ask Ben to travel to the house and prepare a firm estimate. I didnt want to feel responsible for him investing additional time and travel on my paint job when i felt that , while i would be happy to use his company for the job, the cost would be higher than the others based on my side by side review of the bids i received and the "conditions" each painter had attached to their bid. My only impression of Sterling Paint was through my communication with their owner and the speed, honesty and customer service he demonstrated during our interation. Made contact with Ben who said he would send his estimator out. He called the next day and said his employee was having family issues and could not make it. I said no problem and he told me would come by in the next day or two and call me with an estimate. Three weeks later now and haven't heard a word. Is this the kind of company I want to do business with? I don't think so- if not interested in the job a simple phone call would have been welcome.

Sterling Paint did our upstairs walls and ceilings in May, 2014. Jeff Lowry consulted with us on paint textures and answered our follow up questions patiently and thoroughly. The paint crew did excellent prep and paint work. The ceiling white is consistent. The walls are smooth and even-colored. I have found zero spillage on molding. Our furniture, clothing, and personal items were protected and each evening we had proper access to our bed and bath rooms. We appreciated the on-site inspection and follow up after the job was completed. Sterling Paint will be called when we paint again.

My experience was okay. She did get lost on her way to my appointment, but she did call to let me know that she would be late. She spent a good amount of time at the appointment. It ended up not being exactly what I was looking for. She was a nice, professional lady. However, she showed me more of how to clean my home up instead of new design and painting ideas.

Provider was a no show at my house for a scheduled estimate. I had talked to a guy, (I think his name was Ben), who agreed to meet at my house at 1 pm this past Friday. He was a complete no show and did not contact me to let me know that he was not coming. I called the company several times after the no show and left a message but got no response. I expected a company with high ratings to be more professional. I rearranged my whole schedule for the day and drove from an hour away to meet with company at my home and they did not have the common courtesy to contact me ahead of time to let me know they wouldn't be there or return my message. No way I'm going to give my hard earned money to a company that wastes my time in such a manner. I instead went with The Painting Company/Atlanta Painting Company who showed up early at my house and contacted me before and after the appointment for the inspection. They also have much higher ratings than this company so I'd recommend going with them if you value professionalism and common courtesy.

It helped narrow down the options we had.

First of all this job should never have been done at this time of year with the hard winter weather, snow, and a lot of rain. However, the owner and his sales rep assured us they would only work when the temp. was above 45 degrees. This did not always happen, and the paint job looks unprofessional. As the homeowners, we expected a very professional approach to this job considering the Angie's List ratings, but the business owner had the painters out painting over wood rot while the carpenter was trying to fix these identified areas. Too many workers doing their own thing, and no on hand to direct them. Subsequently things were being done that were not on the original contract and without our knowledge resulting in thousands of dollars overcharge. Sloppy work with over splash of paint on wood framing or weather stripping, windows that did not get cleaned up, and wood rot that was hidden by the painters. Overcharging on original line items that we picked out from the Door and Window manufacture and where aware of the original agreed cost and installation amounts. Also charging for work that was never done. Shoddy work all the way around primarily do to the lack of supervision and quality control. We still have wood rot issues and general pre paint repair that were listed on the original contract that have yet to be done. We could not take the continued unprofessional work any longer and called a halt to the project paid an agreed to price, received the Lien Waivers, and cut off our relationship with this contractor. The workers were blaming the owner, and the owner was blaming the workers in this fiasco. Quiet frankly were amazed that this company could stay in business and have the ratings it had. All in all probably one of the worst home painting experiences we have ever had in our life.

Jeff Lowry and Morrie came to remove storm windows and screens. They then pressure washed the house with a bleach solution to kill the mildew. Once that was dry they came back to scrape all loose and flaking paint, prime any bare wood, caulk around doors and windows as needed and check all window glazing, replacing loose or missing glazing as needed. We wanted to use Benjamin Moore Regal exterior acrylic paint, matching the existing colors and they complied without charging us extra for using a different brand than they normally use. When the painting was complete, they cleaned all the windows and storm windows and reinstalled all screens and storm windows using new screws for the storm windows. They came when they said they would come and on time. They worked full days with little interruption. They were polite, extremely professional and friendly. They worked around our schedule and kept disruptions to a minimum. One day there were four painters working on our small home, which really helped to speed the process. At the end of each day they cleaned the areas where they had been working and then cleaned up completely on the last day. At that time we had a final walk around and were very pleased with the job they did. We are already planning to use this company again and will ask for the same painters.

She did the color fine and helped me re-arrange my furniture. I wanted to know how I could take down a kitchen wall and expand my space- but that was outside of the scope of this deal.

It was a good experience. They were very responsive and worked around my schedule setting up an appointment. She spent plenty of time going through the house and helping with color selection. Answered all my questions.

The owner called and setup an appointment to do an estimate. One gentleman showed up and conducted estimate. Never heard back from the service provider. I called and asked about it and they finally emailed the estimate stating they would be out to do the work withing two weeks and never showed. Eventually five months later they called stating did not have the man power at the time of the estimate and offering to still do the work. I did not move forward with them.

To start out, stormy weather prevented Mr. Ben Hawkins from coming out to evaluate the work that had to be done and prepare a written quote on the appointed day, so we rescheduled the appointment and Mr. Ben Hawkins was there right on time. I found him to be very nice, courteous, and professional, and also very knowledgeable of the kind of work that needed to be done. Mr. Ben Hawkins sent me his written quote via email the very next day, It seemed a very fair price for the work that had to be done, so I agreed to have the work done. Mr.Hawkins told me as soon as he finished with his prior commitmenst he would start work on my needed repairs, in approximately 5 days, however, we continued to have really bad weather, Ice storms, and rain and snow. The bad weather caused about a 3 week delay, but as soon as we got fair weather, a few nice sunny days, Mr. Hawkins had his crew on the job. They were very efficient, and professional, they did the job quickly and cleaned up the work site after themselves very nicely. Overall it was a very smooth operation, but there was one little hiccup, the panel of siding did come loose, of which I informed Mr Hawkins of it, and he had a crew back out to secure that piece of siding the very next day. So I like the fact the Mr Hawkins stands behind his work and he is a man of his word. I would recommend to anyone who need home repairs and/or painting done, call Mr. Hawkins and Sterling Paint & construction Services.

They had a lot of trouble getting out to my home because of the weather which wasn't their fault. They were efficient and they were very polite. They were also very professional. The results are very good and I am pleased with the service.

The sliding glass door would not move and an engineer had decided that the roof was sagging which was causing the door to stick. The solution was suggested to be putting a larger steel beam across the space to support the roof. Ben Hawkins suggested a different design which would solve the problem and not cost as much. When his crew came to begin work, they managed to get the door unstuck and working without doing even what Ben had suggested. Ben was concerned that what was done was only a temporary fix, so he asked that I use the door for a few weeks and let him know whether the repair was acceptable before he invoiced me. The door is working fine for approximately 10% of the original quoted cost.

It went okay. I don’t think I was able to maximize their services because some of it I can do on my own.

We selected Sterling based on the recommendation of a neighbor. It was very quick to set up an appt and we had a quote shortly after the initial appointment. Ben responded to all emails and phone calls very quickly. The price quoted was comparable to another quote we had received but we decided to go with Sterling. The main living area of our house was painted including the ceilings and trim. We have many areas with 2 story walls and ceilings and had lots and lots of nail pops and drywall seams that need to be repaired. A crew of 2-4 guys was at our house for 4 days. They moved furniture as needed and covered everything. Each day they reworked areas they had done the day before as they found additional nail pops. Everything looked great after completion - no complaints. Had one area that couldn't be repaired perfectly in a ceiling seam so we still have a drywall crack there but was due to the way house was built - not the fault of the painters. It is much less visible now. A couple of weeks after completion, I noticed a few more areas that needed touch up and Ben sent someone out the same week I contacted him to do the touch up.

They have the knowledge of both the decorating side as well the architectural side. My interaction with the provider was been good.

We purchased a "Big Deal." The lady was nice, but our tastes are very different. I'm sure she's qualified, but I don't think the service was a good fit for us.

From start to finish the work was done professionally. The workers cleaned up after themselves and left my home looking great. I was not in a rush, so it didn't matter to me that the fence boards needed to be special ordered and took time for delivery. Everything was completed in a professional manner.
