About us

Sterling Paint and Construction Services is a family run business which has been established for over 36 years. In this time the company has earned a reputation for a very high standard of workmanship with local authorities, Personal Homes, Business, schools and builders through out the southeast. Owner Ben Hawkins started the business in 1979 in his home town of Tucker, Ga. He worked on his own in the early years and gradually built the business up to the present day, directly employing an experienced, insured and legal workforce. Sterling Paint and Construction is capable of carrying out residential and large scale commercial contracts and has been involved in restoration works for residential homes, office buildings, hospitals, office developments, and apartment blocks. Sterling Paint and Construction prides itself on being able to offer any service in the painting industry and our staff are all trained to a very high standard to ensure that top quality workmanship is achieved at all times .

Description of Work: Would not hesitate to recommend Ben Hawkins and his crew for any paint or construction home project. I had my house painted, wood repaired as necessary and deck repaired and stained. Hawkins provided a detailed estimate and notified me of all changes based on what they found as well as providing me options for the addt'repairs. I was as work during most of the work but my neighbors who are retired or work from home all complimented me on the care that the crew took and my dogs even liked them!

Description of Work: The gutter downspout detached from the second story roof. Knowing that rain was impending, they came out quickly and repaired/re-attached it. This is the third time we've called them and are always happy with the response and fair price.

Description of Work: After a leak in our basement, we needed to have all the ceiling tiles, flooring, molding and carpet replaced. The drywall needed to be torn down in places and replaced. All the walls needed new paint. This was all done quickly and expertly. I would not hesitate to use Sterling again. The cost was competitive, and all phone calls are returned immediately. A+ company!

I thought they did a very good job. They replaced the rotted wood with rot-resistant materials, recreating rather elaborate woodwork around the front entry to look as good as new. Then they repainted all the new surface and adjoining surfaces, matching the existing color perfectly. They cleaned up their mess every day and were polite and professional. Although I did not get multiple quotes, I thought the price quoted was fair, especially when I consider how many people ended up working on my project and for how many days (1-4 people per day for 9 days). I will definitely consider them for interior and exterior painting and repair in the future.
Description of Work: Sterling repaired a lot of rotten wood on the front of my house and repainted it. They also repainted an inside wall that was affected by the outside repairs.

The owner was very prompt in coming by and giving me a complete estimate. They were flexible and able to schedule the job when I could be home (to calm my dog!) All of the workers were awesome. Great care was taken of my home. I am continuing to find details that were fixed or painted that I hadn't even considered. My house looks amazing! They even offered to replace as exterior door knob that I broke when they were there, at no cost! Very conscientious, honest and impeccable painters! I have already referred them to my neighbors!

Sterling was great. They were very punctual, professional, and thorough. They did a great job cleaning and prepping the house, including replacing a lot of rotted trim and siding. The crew was very courteous and cleaned up each day. Sterling had the best price of the four estimates we received and we were very pleased with the quality of the work. The only issue we had was with matching the previous color of the house. Sterling worked very hard to make sure we were satisfied and even threw in some extras to make up for a slight delay on their part. I felt like they went above and beyond. Would definitely use them again.

We got advance notice a day ahead when the dumpster would show up and when the crew would show up to start the work. Each day they started early and gave progress reports on what was happening tomorrow. Cleaned up at the end of each day.
Description of Work: Exterior painting of our wood siding house. It is 2 story on a full basement and good size. There was a good amount of rotted wood that needed to be replaced. Ben Hawkins provided us with a comprehensive statement of work detailing everything that was part of the job and a quotation, not an estimate. The work was started on time, was supervised throughout. It took a few days to complete, but every day the crew cleaned up before leaving. We were so satisfied with how the work was going that we also had them quote replacing a sliding glass door and a bathroom window that were both fogged from a bad seal. They managed to quickly get both ordered and installed by the time the painting was done. These guys also cleaned our gutters and pressure washed the deck at no charge. Really satisfied with their work and our friends say how good the house looks now. We are so impressed with their work that we are already beginning to talk about getting them back for some inside drywall and painting. Very satisfied and would definitely recommend Ben and his team.

Sterling Paint & Construction Services was wonderful. They did a very detailed look at the house and wrote up exactly what needed to be done along with a detailed quote that included woodwork and siding repair. They did a really good job on the work, you can't even tell where the work was done. I had a wood capital over our door and it was rotten and they couldn't find a replacement so they hand-carved another. They cleaned up very well after each day and at the end of the job the owner came out to take a look over everything even after I had checked it over and he found minute details that I had missed!
