They were very responsive and did everything that they said they were going to do. We didn't have any problems.

We began with a call to owner, Ben Hawkins. Ben was very prompt, arriving at the time we'd set. He inspected the house and took notes and photos of damaged windows (rotted wood). He was personable and knowledgeable. Ben got back with an itemized estimate very quickly. Because of his high rating on Angie's List, we felt comfortable moving forward without consulting another contractor, and we liked the uniqueness of this business.......that they not only do this type of repair but also paint. Additionally, we felt the price was fair. The next concern was scheduling because we had a very specific time frame with which to work. Ben was very accommodating to our needs and agreed to the date. He had estimated five to eight days, but due to more issues uncovered as the crew worked, the total time was 11 days. We had allowed for that possibility in our schedule, so we were still okay. While no job goes off without a hitch, I can honestly say that Ben made sure everything was done right. If something wasn't to his standards, it was redone. Also, one or both of us were here at all times since there was a need to be on top of things, and entire large windows were sometimes removed, repaired and put back in place. The exterior paint color is slightly deeper than the original, but we are happy with it, and it is still acceptable within the confines of our HOA. We feel the quality of painting is far better than the first time we painted the house in 2002. This is the type of job that must be done by contractors who know what they're doing. The work is guaranteed for ten years, and it's such a relief to no longer see deterioration around a number of windows. Keith, who has been with the company for several years, really knows his stuff! We felt very secure with him overseeing much of the job. Nonetheless, Ben checked in, both in-person and by phone and always offered to come over if we needed him. We will not hesitate to work with Ben Hawkins again.

The house looks great. The chipping and peeling areas were well attended to and repaired, particularly where the paint had chipped off the siding. The windows, though old, look bright and great because of the reglazing. The crew was very courteous and the site was cleaned at the end of every day. They also removed an old iron column and replaced it with a new wood column. We didn't talk about the design at all, so I was curious to see what it would look like. It's perfect for the house. The response from Jeff regarding visiting our home for a quote was fast and he was on time. The quote was received in good time as well. The only complaint I had was that we had no warning about what day they would start the job, other than a call at 7am that morning (which is the "B" for responsiveness). Still, I was happy it stopped raining long enough for the work to be completed. The price was similar (but slightly better) to another contractor we spoke with, except that group didn't have a carpenter that could quote the column as part of the job (and it would have required an extra step on my end).

That was really good. The owner of the company to do the estimate and then he came out to check on the job as it was completed. And the people who did the work did a very good job. The owner instructed the crew on what to do and they followed through. I would recommend them.

After the first couple of times, we had them back out because we did think that they were good and reasonably priced. They were responsive, they were reasonably priced and they were efficient, that was the main thing. They did good work, not great work but I don't know, my husband is really picky about painting. The way they put some boards back, we had an issue with the way it drained. We had them back out, they were very happy to come back out, we solved the issue and we haven't called them, we need to call them, that's on us. They're very responsive and very willing to come back out until they get it to what you want and they've said that and they've done that. It was a lot of work.

I would use them again in the future.

Seems to be an owner operator who cares for people. My back door was broken in. The door frame and molding were damaged so that the door would not remain shut on its own. The job wasn't that big, but Mr. Hawkins bumped me in front of many number of people in order to get that door secured which I greatly appreciated once I realized he had done that. Thanks for the excellent customer service! The work done was good and the repairmen and painters were courteous and professional. All in all, it was a good experience using this company and I will definitely be using them for any future home repair needs.

These guys did an excellent job painting the exterior trim on our brick home! Through all stages of the process - pressure washing, prepping, repairing damaged fascia board, the painting itself and through clean-up - they were meticulous and thorough. I'm a pretty detailed focused guy and these guys seem to be too. A great prep job before painting! Very professional. Nice to work with. No hard sell on extras or work not needed. Also, we have two dogs which they seemed fond of and were attentive in making sure they did not have a chance to escape the backyard by leaving the gate open or through the doors of the house when they were painting the doors. I would most certainly use them again. Great job Sterling Painting!!

Sterling Paint & Construction Services, yes I did use them. I used them two weeks ago. The cost was $1422 and some cents. My sense with them was they were punctual, they came in on time. They worked as a team so you end up in the beginning you can start off with two and then by the time midway through it's like four or five of them that come on site to assist the other ones in getting the job done. They were punctual, they cleaned up after themselves, I honestly don't have any complaints.

It was pretty good. They did great on the exterior but I was unhappy with some pf the painting on the interior.

Very satisfied with the work, The provided advise on how to go about achieving the goal we were after. At the same time they really kept in mind to maintain the overall look & feel of the house during the remodel. The craftsmanship was incredible and we are very happy with the result.

I felt that the crew overall did a good job, for example cleaned up after themselves each day, and did do some extra things that I asked them to do (i.e. paint the boards under my patio, etc...), very respectful, and pleasant. What I did not understand is that the company did not know how to prep my particular siding or did not consult with me to explain the issue thoroughly. They did say their would be flaws, but had no idea that they wouldn't try to spackle the areas after removing old paint. Never heard of that before. So, I have to assume the quote was strictly painting, so be careful when reviewing quotes. When power washing the old paint, and removing the lose paint as a layman person it was obvious that they needed to spackle the areas that needed to be smoothed out to allow for a finished look. I expected that they are the experts in the field of exterior painting and they would have automatically spackle or correct the areas where the paint was obviously removed. I understood it was not part of the quote, which they need to include even if it is more money, and they did not really know how to prep this type of wood siding. As a compromise I asked them to spackle, make it look the best they can on the front side and side of the house, even though other areas of the house needed the spackle. It was time for the process to be over with. They actually did a fantastic job on staining my fence. While the house is now acceptable, the reason for the average grade is that I expected that a company providing a costly project, that the quote includes not just paint, but the spackle, as necessary, and that the company doesn't wait and watch on what the consujmer says about the work. It should be expected that the company steps back looks at the work, and determine if it is acceptable, and it is something they are proud of. and if it isn't fix it.. It felt like it was more of an opportunity to upsell other projects, like hardi-blank rather doing the job right first time. Additionally, while painting is messy, I have a brand new driveway, which paint did get on the driveway.

Fantastic experience! Ben and his team of high caliber professionals did a beautiful job! I could not be happier. It was a big project that took a while but the painters cleaned up after themselves daily and kept me posted on their progress. Ben has some of the best painters and carpenters on his team. Real artisans and professionals who take pride in the work and it shows. The quality of work and craftsmanship was superb! My home looks brand new and gorgeous! Ben was also good at working with me on payment terms and spread the expense over 90 day which made it less painful on my wallet! I highly recommend Sterling Paint & Construction to everyone. Estimating process was very prompt and thorough. I got estimates from 3 companies -- this was the middle one. Project coordinator (Jeff Lowry) was very good to work with, very responsive via phone and email. Both the carpentry crew and the painting crew were very polite, curteous, kept everything neat and clean. We had to coordinate access to the interior when I could be at home, and they were very good about working around my schedule.

The quote from Sterling Paint & Construction Services was okay. It was not awesome or anything. I'd say it was kind of average. I haven't gotten the work done yet because I haven't made a decision which company I'll be going with. He was on time. It seemed like he was hurrying through the quote process. When I got the quote, it was missing a couple of items that I had discussed with him. It wasn't anything major. They weren't real small. It seemed like he had a lot on his plate and he just needed to get in and get out.

Ben, with Sterling, came out to my home, on time, sat with me and answered 2 pages of questions I had about, paint, colors, trim, siding, etc. He gave me a competitive estimate to paint my house, references, evidence of insurances, and a more than reasonable timeline. I set a tentative date for service, to follow the completion of other exterior repairs to my home. Ben called me a week before my tentative service date to check in to be sure that all was progressing as planned and I still needed him on that date, and when his guys came out to paint the house, they were on time. professional, efficient, did exactly what Ben and I had discussed, and even cleaned up after themselves when they were finished.

They showed up on time, covered all my fixtures, counters and floors and began patching and then subsequently painting. When they left the job looked perfect and it didn't take very long at all. They also painted only a portion of the ceiling since it went on and on through the house. We picked a natural end point and it looked awesome. However about a week after they left one of the holes they filled became more obvious as the filler shrunk (not something in their control). I was hesitant to call them about it as it was such a small thing and I know it would be a lot of trouble for something so minor, but when I finally did, they never complained. We set up a time for them to come by and fix it. They even thanked me for saying something because they really wanted me to be happy. I will definitely use them again.

The people who did the job where very polite and nice. They did a good job and we are satisfied. I have recommended them to others.

An earlier review of this company said, "Look no further!" We most heartily agree with the this evaluation. Everyone on all of the crews (preparation, carpentry, painting, cleanup, etc) was a professional in every sense of the word, and it was easy to communicate with anyone of them. Their attention to detail was superb--not just a 'slap it on and be done' but, for example, during the painting part of the project they meticulously ensured there was no 'bleed over' onto areas that shouldn't be painted. At times this meant brush work--not just spraying. The most important part of the project to us was preparation. This they did to the n-th degree: not only pressure washing but sanding and scraping to ensure that the paint about to be applied would 'stick'. During the preparation phase a couple areas were discovered that required some specialized carpentry work as well as the replacement of roof decking and shingles. Because of weather--i.e., it rained a lot during the course of the project--it was not possible to get this work done during the normal work week, so the carpenters showed up on Sunday and got the work done so that the painters could do their painting on Monday without interruption.

Prep and work was of high quality. Painters were friendly and polite. Estimates of time and cost were accurate. Workers were prompt and clean-up was thorough.

This is the second time we hired Ben & his crew. We had Ben evaluate the entire house. He took the time to inspect the whole house, interior & exterior and explain what he recommended and why. Although we could not afford to do all of it at one time, we did have Ben do the majority of the work. His workers are very talented when it comes to preparation and execution of the work. They are all very pleasant and professional. This job actually took 6 days and everyone showed up every day when expected. It is refreshing to have someone like Ben who knows what he is doing and will explain everything in detail to you. Remember, you can always buy cheap and not be satisfied with the work. We are very satisfied with the job that was done.

I have used them before. I got them off Angie's List initially and that was why I initially used them. They do such a good job. One of the things is that they don't take any money from you until they finish the job and your satisfied. Most places make you put a down payment and then get the rest upon completion. That told me that they really had confidence in their work. That they were willing to till they finished before I ever paid a penny. They cleaned up their work area completely every day , because it took a couple week for them to finish everything. They were very friendly, and kept me updated with the progress.

The service from this company was excellent. Ben Hawkins came to the house and described in detail the work required, the process that would be followed and the the schedule. I received a prompt and detailed estimate and any changes to the estimate were emailed the same day they were discussed. Due to a few days of bad weather the start date was delayed but i was kept informed. The team was very professional and courteous and cleaned up everyday. What I liked was that the onsite foreman would answer any questions and would explain when the team would be finishing for the day and when they would be back. The quality of the work was top notch. I need some additional pieces of trim replaced on my chimney and the team explained why and what would be the best approach. I agreed to the changes and got an updated verbal quote, followed by a written estimate which seemed fair. Above all, I felt like the team was upfront, honest and wanted to do a good job for me the customer.

Ben was up front with his detailed estimate and approximate service time to do all of the work. The staff we had were all very nice and professional people, didn't have music blasting when they were working. Really paid attention to what they were doing. I had 2 other quotes for the same work, one guy didn't write anything down (SCARY) and another one was very friendly, but he seemed to busy to call us back. Overall, work was excellent. There were two instances where there didn't need to be as much work as was estimated. Before my invoice came, Ben called me early the next morning after the job was complete and advised me he knew of these changes & reduced the price accordingly! When the need arises, we'll be using Ben again. It's nice to find honest people.

Excellent experience! The workers were timely, professional and so easy to work with. The results are great! I plan to have them back for some additional work next year. I so appreciated them being able to accomodate my request to have this work done quickly due to the holidays approaching. Mr. Hawkins is great to work with and is able to give you good suggestions. I highly recommend this company! I cannot say enough good things about our experience.
