Chuck's Moving & Delivery Service

I used this service to move a few weeks ago. I will say they took really good care of my items. However, I feel like I was ripped off in regards to the what I paid. I found this company here on Angie?s List with a deal of 1 truck, 3 men for 3 hours at $375. After the 3 hours have passed, the rate would go to $140 per hour. At any rate, I contacted the company directly and spoke with a representative there. She stated I could purchase the deal for $349 but I would have to do it on Angie?s List and there would be no guarantee that I would get the date I am asking for because the amount of time it take to get the order from Angie?s List to their system. So I went directly through the company. I paid a deposit of $125. Considering I am moving from a 2 bedroom condo to a house, I felt that I would not much over 4 hours. I did not have a ton of large furniture. The crew showed around 10am. We did not leave my place until almost 3pm. I thought this was quite strange that it took this long to load up my 2 bedroom condo. The only large items I had were 2 beds, 2 couches, and washer and dryer. So we had to go by a storage unit to pick up some additional items. The storage unit was not out of the way in relation to the new home. Once we got to the storage unit, began to notice that the crew (3 people) would all take one load down together and 2 of the guys would watch 1 person pack the items on the truck. I immediately asked if the other 2 were going to go and get the other items. I was told they needed to see how the items would be packed to see what room was left. Needless to say, the movers did not finish moving me into my new home until 6:30pm. When I got the bill, I was told I owed $980. I expressed my concern to the owner that I think this took WAY too long to complete. At any rate I paid the money. So my total move with this company was $1105 to move from a 2 bedroom condo. This is absolutely unacceptable. I would advise not to use this company if you need a moving service.

He was rude, unprofessional, and unorganzied. I left him 5 different messages and it took me calling back on monday to get in touch with him. There were also hidden costs for the deal that I purchased.

I was very disappointed in the price. When talking with the provider before the move, I told them to come by and look at my new house, because the driveway is up a hill. They assured me that he would and then told me he had. He didn't come by, he looked at the internet, so I was charged about 600 more than I had budgeted for the move. There were several men, but I wasn't impressed with their work. Some seemed to stand around...waiting for directions, etc. and the moving price is based on time, too. Because of the time factor, many of the boxes were not put where they were supposed to be placed.

The crew did a great job! This is the second time I have used this company for my residential move and both times they were fantastic. The movers were very professional. They worked hard the entire time. When they did take a break, they let me know ahead of time and showed me the watch/time they were stopping and again when they were starting again. They did not damage any of my furniture or belongings. And the cost was very reasonable for the amount of labor and service I received. I would highly recommend this company!

The move went very smoothly. It took longer than I estimated, but it was my estimation, not their work. The men who were there worked very h****** a very hot day. Chuck called a few times to insure they had everything they needed. I was surprised by the additional "fuel" fee that I was informed about after I had made my appointment. I think that should be added into the fee, but the work that was done was excellent by the 3 man crew. There was definitely a leader who kept everything moving throughout the day.

Great crew!!!! Byron was in charge, and the other guys were Johnathan, Vante and "Q". We will ask for this crew again! They all were very careful and worked very hard. Byron helped with difficult maneuvers such as getting large chairs thru small doorways. Nothing was damaged. Highly recommend!

Technically, Chuck and his movers were late. But that was due to a small plane landing on the interstate. They informed us of the delay. They were professional and worked especially hard trying to get a sleeper sofa into an upstairs room with an awkward corner.

The biggest problem that I have with this company is that I bought an Angie's List package moving deal for $375, but I was charged an additional $60 as a fuel surcharge on top of that. When I questioned that additional charge because it was not disclosed, I was told that Angie's List told this company that they were supposed to include all charges in the package deal and could not add this fuel surcharge separately. However, they did it anyway. They simply did not include it in the description of the package moving deal in order to get around Angie's List rules. I think this company should be taken off of Angie's List favored providers and not be able to offer these special deals if they can not follow the rules of this site.

I highly recommend Chuck's Moving and Delivery! They did a fantastic job. They showed up on time and worked in a professional and efficient manner. We moved from a 2 story plus basement, roughly 3700 sq ft, to a similar house. I obtained 3 estimates before the move. One place wouldn't even come out and insisted they could give me an estimate over the phone. Another was nearly $4000 and would have way over-estimated the trucks needed. Mr. Moore came out himself and looked at the rooms and amount of furniture and tools and gave an estimate based on 4 men/2 trucks and 10 to 12 hours to move. He hit the nail on the head. Nothing was damaged and everything made it to the end destination.

Chuck was very responsive to any inquiries. He gave us an estimate on how much time and manpower we needed and it was dead on. Scheduling was also very easy. We purchased the 3 man + 26 ft truck + 5 hours package. The only fee not included was the fuel charge. The only glitch we had was that the movers were an hour late. They did call several times that they were en route. After they arrived, everything went very smoothly. They were very nice and professional and packed up the furniture very nicely. They were able to assess how to move furniture in and out of our place. They took things apart at the old place and put them back together at the new place. One thing I loved the most was how well they worked together. One can tell that they are happy employees. Overall, it took them 4.5 hours for everything. I would definitely use them again for local moves.

Had a issue with the refrigerator and had to remove doors - move was ok but ended up costing an additional $350 which we were not expecting

We got a late start because of truck issues, but they called me and let me know. The move took 4 hrs and everything went smoothly.

Overall it went very well. Three guys showed up with a truck close to the scheduled time. Two of the three were very hard workers, the third did ok too, but it seemed like almost every I walked around the corner and into view, he was just standing on the truck looking at his cell phone. The five hours in this Big Deal was just barely enough time to move the contents of a three bedroom house 1.5 miles away without any packing or unpacking. My only disappointment was at the very end of the move when it came time to sign the paperwork, Chuck tried to tack-on an extra $60 fuel fee! That fuel fee wasn't listed anywhere in the details of this Angie's List deal, and he never mentioned it when we spoke on the phone either before I purchased the deal thru Angie's List, or afterwards. I refused to pay that extra $60. I did tip each of the three movers $20 at the end of the job though, as they did a work hard.

These guys are completely awesome! We plan to use them again for our second move next month!

They showed up on time, prepared, and ready to work. They were all professional and courteous. They got everything moved in the 5 hour time frame, took care to protect our items from breakage. I would recommend them to anyone who asks and would use them again if I were to move.

The guys showed up on time, treated me and my furniture very respectfully, and worked efficiently. They were very careful with every item they moved, and they were obsessive about never touching the walls with the furniture. Chuck is also pretty easy to work with in terms of getting quotes, and the pricing is good and straightforward. Highly recommend.

Chuck and the three other movers were fast, friendly and thoroughly professional from start to finish. Moving day is usually a stressful time, but Chuck's careful preparation and constant oversight made things run smoothly and incident-free. Most impressive in this respect is that Chuck brought along a second smaller truck -- just in case the contents of the house exceeded the capacity of the larger one. Turns out it was big enough (just barely) and the second truck wasn't needed after all. I wouldn't have objected if Chuck had passed along an extra charge for having that backup (rental) truck on hand. But he didn't. And we appreciated that gesture very much. In short, the move couldn't have gone any better. Nothing was damaged and the cost of the move ultimately came in under budget. We have another house (condo) to move in a couple of months and plan to use Chuck's Moving for that one as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This was the best moving experience I've ever had and I have moved several times over the years. The owner and staff were exceptional! They treated my belongings as of they were theirs. I will definitely use this company again.

Very happy with the move. They were punctual, efficient, and very professional. They even helped me move some additional furniture around in the house that was not part of the move and did not charge extra for it. Would definitely recommend them and hire them again.

The move went very well --the movers were efficient but also very careful with my belongings. They were smart about how they loaded the truck and arranged things in the unit. As other reviewers for this provider have noted, there's an extra $60 fuel charge that is clearly indicated on the Angie's List deal and that Chuck re-iterates on the phone, but it's a ridiculous charge to include (he should just up his prices to cover this cost --he would have to be getting about .2 miles per gallon to justify this charge.) My only other complaint was that one of the workers was smoking after completing the job while waiting for the extra charge to be settled, which I thought was a bit unprofessional.

They were very professional, pleasant, and punctual, They came with 4 guys and 2 trucks. Sometimes 5 guys were there helping.

I would definitely recommend Chuck and his staff to anyone. They are punctual, communicate well, and are all around true professionals. Ii used them for 3 hours at $279 Angie's list special and there is an additional $60 fuel charge on top of that. When I have another move, I will be calling this business.

Chuck's Moving & Delivery Service was first class in all respects. From providing the quote to the actual move, Chuck and his team were extremely professional, courteous, friendly and responsive. They very carefully handled the treadmill, which was large, heavy and a bit awkward to maneuver, and were careful not to hit any of the walls or doorways. A couple of the doorways were too narrow with the doors left on so Chuck quickly removed to get the item through and then put everything back in place. Although Atlanta traffic kept him from arriving on time, he called to let me know he would be late and was very apologetic about it once he arrived. It's really hard to find movers who will move smaller items and use their own equipment. In addition to Chuck's Moving & Delivery Service, I contacted several other movers and all had cost minimums, which would have made this move extremely expensive. Thankfully, Chuck's Moving & Delivery Service was available, affordable, professional and efficient. Next time I need to have something moved, my first call will be to Chuck. Yours should be too.

The movers were prompt and called before they came. They made sure everything was put in the truck in an organized fashion. They also wrapped up the TV and anything that was breakable. My daughter moved from an apartment (1 floor) to a townhome with one flight of stairs. They were very mindful of time as well, knowing she was on a really tight budget. Chuck had come to the apartment to quote her and stuck to the quote he gave her. Byron and Justin(the movers) were helpful, kind and quick.
