Tech diagnosed problem and we paid $80 and they quoted a price to make repair. A different tech came out the next day and attempted to make the repair, but did not fix the problem. I called company and they sent another tech that fixed the problem.

They came within 4 hours of our first call and we were back with heat in an hour.
Description of Work: Reliable checked out our furnace because it would not come on. After checking all the systems, they found that a hose into our water pump was blocking the removal of water and keeping the furnace from turning on.

No problems for first 11 months but in 7-12, my a/c went out. I work at home 3 days per week so I need a/c. They had to order a Trane part from Texas. Only because I called every day did I learn that the first order did not go through and they had to order it again. At that point they brought a room window unit which allowed me to at least sleep and work a few hours each day. The new part fixed the problem after 3+ days of miserable heat. In 11-12, my heater would not come on. Their first technician could not diagnose the problem The 2nd technician (a few days later) found the problem in 30-40 minutes and said a "board" was installed incorrectly. So their staff made 3 mistakes: ordered a part incorrectly, installed a board incorrectly, and could not diagnose their own created problem. This caused me over 7 days of extreme heat and cold, not what I expect from a year old system. I paid nothing for the service calls because the 7-12 call was under the manufactur warranty, and the other calls because I purchase the yearly check up plan which gives me lifetime warranty on this unit.
Description of Work: They iinstalled new 16 Seer Trane a/c and heater in 7-2011 for $6500 which was $1600 less than all other estimates

I called Reliable on 3/18 to inquire about the possibility of getting a new AC system installed and wanted to get a quote. My system wasn't out or didn't die...yet but it is 30 yrs old and every year I just know that it is the year that it is going to go out. So as I said I called at about 11 am on 3/18 and was surprised to find that they could come that same day in about an hour. Chris Gleaves showed up an hour later and we walked through the house, he looked at the system, asked some questions and then had recommendations for a new system. Our problem with our AC was that in such an old house with no insulation in the walls the system was working extremely hard. On top of that it is 30 years old and the main problems came from the difference in temperature from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor of our home. Our duct work had leaks and we didn't have a return upstairs so of course we were having issues. I didn't feel like I was being pushed into anything, nor did he use many of the salesman tactics or fear that he could have. He simply stated the facts and let me decide what I wanted to do - if anything. As I stated, our system was still operational - even if it wasn't effective. We decided to replace the whole system (AC and Furnace) because of the financing available to do both through the Trane / Wells Fargo program. We could have saved about 3000 to not replace the furnace but we would have had to pay it off in 12 months rather than the 60 months offered to do both systems at once. (I'm extremely happy I went with both systems as we found a ton of mold on the furnace after it was taken out of the house). The price did sting a bit but after doing a bit of research in the afternoon I found that for what we were getting it was a fair and reasonable price. I called Chris just after 4 pm the same day to say that we were a "go" and amazingly he was able to schedule the install for the very next day - 3/19! So - yesterday - 3/19 I get a call from Jorge Ceron saying that he'd be here at about 9:30 according to the GPS and made sure that it was okay. Jorge arrived on time and had the help of Alexis Valdez. I showed them the house, the system etc and the work began. They also had two other workers join them that I failed to write down their names or I would have mentioned them as well. All were very respectful and polite. The work was done well and they worked hard all day. Jorge and Alexis didn't leave until 7:30 pm so it was an all day install. The house was back to "normal" with everything in its place and the mess that was made throughout the day was cleaned. Again - what we had put in the house was as follows: a Trane 80% afue 100,000 BTU XV80 variable speed stage gas furnace with a 5 ton blower drive, a Trane 4 ton XL16i high efficiency R410a Puron air conditioner and Trane 4 ton all aluminum cooling coil, we also had it zoned for upstairs and downstairs, they resealed our duct-work where needed, put in a proper sized refrigerant line and installed a return duct and grill from the basement through a closet in the 1st floor to the second floor. They also installed an Aprilaire media air cleaner system. Ultimately they did an excellent job and I wouldn't have spent this long on a review site to write a review if I didn't believe that. I definitely recommend you asking for Chris and Jorge for your HVAC sales and installation. Chris used to be an installer so he is extremely knowledgeable and Jorge does a great job. It's only been a day but the system works great and I expect to for many years to come. Thanks!

I never called this company at all. I hired a general contractor for an addition on my house. The main vent was not fastened after they came out and it came off. They did come back and fix that. I spoke with my bank, and found out that the contractor never paid the invoice, and they had put a lien on my house. With a job this big, my home was put in jeopardy! I never received any explanation of why they did this. I want to make sure this doesn?t happen to anyone else.

Response from Reliable Heating & Air Plumbing & Electrical
It is unfortunate you used a contractor who did not pay his sub contractors. This does happen to some people during a remodel when they neglect to get a release of lien from their remodeler. If you had had him sign a lien release when you paid him, you could have avoided being in the middle, but the owner of the property is responsible for any work and materials used to improve their home. The good news is he just paid his invoice apparently after you complained to him and we will file a release of lien and you problem with our company will be gone. We do value all customers, but we insist on getting paid for all work performed. If you do have a problem with a duct, just let us know and we stand behind all our work. I checked and saw no mention of any issues in your file with the remodeler you hired.

These folks are wonderful. Estimate was exactly what I paid. Worked with me to fit within my budget and even found me 0% financing for the job. I had a tight time constraint on the day of installation and so they sent out TWO teams to make sure they got everything done in time... and beat the time estimate by two hours. Not a single problem with the installation or the use of the system throughout the winter. I am VERY pleased with their work and recommend them highly

Our heater died in the middle of the night mid-January, or rather let me say that basically it started blowing cold air instead of warm. Not good, but given the fact that is lasted for 35 years, we can't really complain. Called out Reliable the next day and they came right over. The technician diagnosing the problem was very efficient and friendly and did a great job of explaining that basically the heating coil (again 35 year old system) had basically just worn out. As they don't even make that model anymore, we would probably be better off just replacing the system. Not great news, but he was very patient and friendly in walking us through it. Next the salesman came out that same evening and walked us through our options. He was really nice and there was zero pressure placed on us. He talked us through the various levels, asked about how long we would plan to stay in the unit and we settled on one of the lower-mid tier systems because given our timeline to be in the house, going with a more expensive unit wouldn't see us get our money out of it. Best sales experience ever. He also explained their special deal they have going now with buying one system and getting a second system (which applies to our layout) for half price. Given that that system was the same configuration and age as the first, we realized that it was probably just a matter of time before it went too, so we went ahead and signed up to replace both systems. They scheduled the following Monday to come out to do the work and the installation went off without an issue. The crews (yes multiple - they sent two crews to get both systems installed the same day) were fantastic. The guys knocked both installs out in about 6 hours, even doing some additional modifications for us (e.g. ducting in a sunroom that hadn't been conditioned previously and adding an external condensation drain for the downstairs air handler). We've been completely happy with the work and the systems and just can't say enough about the professionalism, diligence, and outstanding work from Reliable. We would not hesitate to recommend them for any job they do to everyone we know.
Description of Work: Replaced two existing 35+ year old systems (Internal-External Air Handler/Condenser systems) with one upstairs and the other downstairs. Added ductwork to duct-in our sunroom off the main living room Added external drain for the downstairs air handler when it was noticed that the previous system had drained into the crawlspace. Cleaned out all of our ductwork

The great thing about Forest, who came to evaluate our 18 year-old systems and prepare an estimate for installing both heat and AC, is that the first priority in his mind was finding out what the problem was with our dead furnace. Then he showed me how fix it temporarily. By jiggling the right wires, I was able to get the furnace running again several times, which saved us from several cold nights between the old furnace's failure and the installation of a new one. Neither of the other two companies from which we received estimates tried to diagnose the problem to give us an interim solution. Thank you Reliable! I was also impressed with the materials Forest presented and the way he explained the options. Unlike one of the two other companies from which we received estimates, he asked about our plans for staying in the house and how we use the house, and he did not try to sell us more expensive units than we need. Thank you Reliable!
Description of Work: Although we did not hire Reliable to install our HVAC, Reliable was competitive in price, and I want to commend them for their quick response when our furnace went out and we realized it was time to get estimates.

Reliable was great. I would recommend to get someone else to clean your ducts though. There were a few issues with the electrical and the plumbing, but I think they were misunderstandings, and they were corrected as soon as I called. This place has the best customer service that I have ever seen. An electrician left an outlet cover off a switch he installed and said he would send a replacement, but never did (that is unprofessional, but just on him, not the company). Also, he could not correct an issue with track lighting and said to call a lighting specialist (again, that was him, and my money for that particular job was refunded when I brought up the fact that the work was not completed. And, this was a $100 job part of $9000 of work so still pretty good). Later on, 2 different electricians (Jake A, Andrew V 2.20.13) came out to fix an unrelated problem. They spent 1-2 hours trouble shooting. They eventually fixed it and did not charge anything but the $125 call fee because they used items they had on hand for a minor fix that was causing some big problems (power surging and waning/ lights flickering randomly). Overall, it is a great company. Not everyone is perfect, but talk to them, and they will work with you. I will definitely use them again. Oh yeah, I shopped around and got quotes and the ones they did not beat, they matched. They did not say they were doing thins, but I sent my previous quotes to them, and I noticed that they did this. That combined with their financing (no interest if paid off in 3 years with a new HVAC system) let us make a foreclosure an amazing home.
Description of Work: I had Electrical(Ricky J, Justin L, Tyler D, Jake A, Andrew V) Plumbing (Michael B, John B)HVAC (Billy J,Lee B) do ~$9000 of work to a new home (foreclosure) in Tucker. They were great. Best price, wonderful service, came back free of charge to address any issues that needed further work. The women on the phone were professional & worked with our schedule. The workers were honest and explained everything that they did (and we ask lots of questions). John Black and Michael Barber were in particular amazing. Such good work. We will not hesitate to use Reliable in the future whether we want to get that third low flow toilet,do some updating, or have an emergency leak. I will say that we had our ducts cleaned with them as part of a package. They used a contracted out company. I have never had this service done before, but we paid $425 for what seemed standard fare. The company Daffy Ducts, did a decent job, and even replaced my dryer connection with a better one. However, they did replace the flat head screws on my vents with bolts that needed a socket set to remove "because replacing flat head screws can lead to damage from a flat head screw driver slipping" and then they only asked afterwards if that was alright. I wish that I had said no in hindsight. Also, they ask you to sign something saying that you are satisfied with their work. I did, but should not have. I found a couple of vents put in improperly or with bolts driven diagonally into my wall tearing it up and not letting the vent cover sit flush with the wall. I don't think it is a good idea to sign anything saying you are satisfied with work until you can take time on your own (not in a quick, pressured moment) to inspect the work and try it out.

I contacted Reliable to get one of my three estimates. I was looking for Trane or Carrier HVAC equipment. Daniel returned my call and arranged a time for the estimate. He came to my house, inspected the old systems, and gave me his recommendations and options for new HVAC systems. Reliable's estimate was the lowest price for comparable equipment. I accepted Reliable's proposal and within 3 days the installation crew was at my house. Jorge, Lex, Raul and Ram were the installers. They were clearly very experienced and experts at their job. Each was focused on their tasks, but very friendly and helpful. Great attitude and customer service. They completed the entire installation in 6 hours. The new equipment works great. I did not expect the whole process to be so painless.

A friendly sales rep came out to the house and walked me through our options (SEER ratings, etc) that would serve our purpose. He also asked if we had any cold/warm areas in our house and made a recommendation for how to resolve (which worked). We received multiple quotes from various providers. Reliable said they would beat the lowest price and they did. The installers came out promptly and were very quick and cleaned up when they finished. Two crews came out- one up stairs and one for down stairs.

The service man checked out the unit furnance and AC, replaced the air filter, ran the furnace to check the heat, and when he checked the AC he advised me there was a leak in it and not to run it any more. He stated it had lost over 4 pounds of freon. I advised him the service man that was here in the Spring from their company never said a word about a leak. He did add some freon when he serviced it. I got the impression from him that something was wrong with the unit downstairs on the inside and told me to call the people back that installed it to see if still under warranty. I asked him after I found out, if it was not under warranty then how much would the repairs be. The serviceman could not even give us an estimate for the work. This has never happened before with this company, so you can see why I was upset with the serviceman.
Description of Work: I have a annual service contract with them for service twice a year. I have used them for several years, and I have been very pleased with the check up service and servicemen. The last time they were out, I was not impressed with the serviceman's knowledge of what he was doing. I have always had excellant service from the company, but if the Spring check up is done by the same serviceman as before, I may consider switching to another company.

We selected a different company to do the work after having four estimates with four different service providers. Reliable was on time, profession, and coureous. They gave us a thorough explanation about various furnaces and their features. They offered us a very good deal for an excellent product, but the fact that the rep did not follow up with us for a whole week, while the others did, led us to choose a different company that offered the same products for the same price plus a bit more customer service. I wouldn't hesitate to call Reliable again for an estimate on another job.

I have a contractual agreement with them where they come out and inspect my system quarterly that they installed. The installers and technicians are highly professional and knowledgeable. They get the job done on time. They do excellent work. I have been very pleased with them. I am having a problem right now with a noise in my ductwork. They have been out once and seemingly corrected it. I feel certain that they will come back and take care of it when I call. They use Trane systems and I think they are the best heating and cooling systems. They always give me a heads up the day before and then they call when they are in route.

We have been service/maintenance contract holders with Reliable for our HVAC units and have purchased an entire new system with them at a previous address. We unexpectedly moved from that location and transferred our service contracts to our new home and units. We have always been VERY PLEASED with the quality of work the technicians do on our units, their time and expertise is terrific. When we moved to the new home we needed some inexpensive work done (moving a vent) and there was a $600 minimum trip charge for a $125 service (which I had been quoted that $125 price from TWO members of management team as I called in over a month ahead of time to prepare for this service and they never once mentioned the $600 minimum charge.) The sales person did a great job of informing me of the situation and understood how I felt, but ultimately said I needed to speak with the owner of the company or one of the other managers which I spoke with the Sales Manager. They were unwilling to budge on the service call charge even though we were running duct cleaning through their company instead of doing it directly AND the fact that we have $240+ service contracts we renew annually, AND we purchased a $3800+ Trane HVAC system at our previous home AND referred family who did over $7000+ in heating and plumbing. I tried to reason with them including phone calls and emails, but received no response or satisfaction. At the point this came to light I was only about 10 days from the need of the vent moved and didn't have much of a choice as my husband and I are not particularly handy when it comes to HVAC. So, I ended up having to pay the trip charge for something that I only needed for $125. The WORK WAS DONE extremely well and the technician as always was knowledgeable and stayed until the job was done right, however, I am disappointed as a loyal customer they were not interested in compromising and doing the right thing.
Description of Work: Their TECHNICIANS ARE FANTASTIC, but the ownership and management leave a lot to be desired.

Response from Reliable Heating & Air Plumbing & Electrical
I am glad we performed the work you needed done in the time you needed it and you were pleased in the quality of our work and technicians. I understand your frustration with the whole situation as I I have felt it myself many times when a customer needs something very small in price done and that is the only thing they need done. We can do a register move for a customer for $125 when we are there doing a larger job, so the cost you were quoted is correct. But we can’t send technician out to a home just to do a $125 job due to the many factors included in the cost of performing the job. Our cost to drive to a home and perform a small job far exceeds the $125 in revenue. It normally takes 4 hours to do a small job including picking up materials, drive time, actual work time at job site and travel time back to our office. My cost to have a tech on the clock is $48.00 per hour for labor and benefits. We also have costs for expenses like gas, insurance, bonds and many overhead items we have to cover. We are constantly monitoring our cost structure so we can be very competitive in our offerings and still have Reliable not lose money. Your review really upset me. Everyone here at Reliable worked hard for you to give you the quality customer service experience you received and you review does not at all relate what took place. I do not normally go over every detail of “our side”, but in this case I feel so strongly, I must. You did call our office and ask the price to move a register and were quoted the correct price, but you did not mention that was all you needed done on that particular visit. Our minimum for any small duct job is $500 including materials due to the cost we experience regardless of whether we have to move one duct or five. We then sent a comfort consultant to your home to see about doing something else for you. You decided to also purchase 3 remote access Wi-Fi thermostats and receivers from us so you could bundle the two jobs together. He quoted you on the specific model # thermostat you wanted which is a homeowner grade thermostat only available in a big box store like Home Depot or Lowes. We normally buy our thermostats wholesale and of course, pay less at a supply house than Home Depot. We also included the duct move and a two system duct cleaning and dryer vent cleaning. You total bill for all these services was $1250.00 and I would like to give you a breakdown so you can feel better about this transaction. The 3 thermostats you wanted actually cost me $400 with tax from Home Depot. It took a technician almost an hour to drive to Home Depot and buy these specific models. We had materials cost for the duct move and the actual labor cost to drive to your home and install these thermostats and actually move the duct you wanted. As you noted, you had duct cleaning performed and we do not do this in-house, but rather use a company who only does duct cleaning. They charged me $600.00 for your two system cleaning and your dryer vent cleaning. I then had a technician go to your home and install the wireless thermostats and move your duct. Reliable’ s true cost at this point is; $400 to Home Depot, $48 in man hours to go to Home Depot and buy these exact models, $600 to the duct cleaning, and the labor and materials to move you duct and the labor to actually install the thermostats which was $250. Then the other day you called and related your displeasure about the experience again and management gave you a free, two system service cleaning on your new HVAC systems as a complementary offering to try and make you feel better over the whole transaction. This is a $129.95 service. At this point, my cost to provide this complete package to you was $1427.95 and Reliable lost $177.95 on this job. Then today, I get the above response from Angie’s List from you. If we continue to do jobs like this one, we will not be here to provide the excellent service you mentioned in your review. I cannot apologize for anything we did here, as it was simply the best we could have done for you. I am sorry for the long winded response, but I was so disappointed with your C review. From the start I found Reliable to be responsive and thorough. They were able to give us an estimate the day after we called. After agreeing on the work to be performed they were able to start the installation immediately. They left the worksite in a clean condition and after working late into the day both installers were cheerful and informative. At the end of a long day they took time to explain the new system and helped to troubleshoot a problem we were experiencing with another HVAC unit. From the estimateres to the installers I was very pleased and would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Reliable installed a complete HVAC unit with a high-efficiency 2-stage gas furnace with hybrid technology. They removed the old equipment and installed the new unit. We also had them install web-enabled thermostats.
