Reliable Heating & Air Plumbing & Electrical

System design changed two days before installation, which caused a bit of install confusion as the wrong materials were delivered. This was not seen as a problem by us. Install itself was good, but several mistakes were made and not noticed by us right away. Two weeks after install we noticed one duct and register was in the wrong location. They had a crew come out immediately to correct this. Then we found a duct and register in a closet. Again they came out to correct this. Then we found a register and supply missing. Again they came out to correct this, and they noticed our drywallers had buried a register boot, which they also fixed. We are very happy with the end result. Stuff happens. They came back with professional people who were very easy to work with. There was no hesitation to come back and fix things after they were paid in full. They actually did good work. These folks show a super warranty, and our experience is they implement it. We would use them again.

This was debacle - we were without heat for a few weeks while we got the unit fixed. It required 5 service visits. The first technician diagnosed a bad relay and low pressure switch. The pressure switch needed to be ordered and he changed out the relay. He couldn't recharge the unit because he didn't have refrigerant on his truck. These were cold nights in ATL and the technician told me that we didn't have emergency heat installed in our air handler. The second technican changed the pressure switch and found that it wasn't the problem. He spent a lot of time troubleshooting and was unable to resolve the problem. It had gotten late and dark, so we scheduled a follow-up visit. Still cold, still no heat. The third technician diagnosed a bad TXV valve and ordered the part and scheduled a service call for he next day. The fourth technician came, but didn't have the part. He came to confirm the diagnosis of the third technician (um..okay). This guy was a rockstar though - John asked why we weren't using emergency heat. I told him that the previous technicians advised us that we didn't have heat strips installed. John didn't believe this, and opened the air handler and confirmed we indeed had heat strips. He then looked at our thermostat and found that it was not wired correctly. He fixed the wiring problem on the main floor and the second floor and for the first time in 3 weeks we had heat downstairs. THANK YOU JOHN! The fifth technician changed the TXV valve and the unit has been working fine ever since. The high points - everyone we dealt with was friendly and professional. All technicians showed up early to their scheduled times. The bad points - we were without heat for a month, where if the issue had been correctly diagnosed, it may have been only a few days. The Emergency Heat issue should have been identified sooner. All in all, I would not use Reliable again as I felt that were..well?reliable.

Perfect - just like every other time we've called up Reliable.

I had family in town over the holidays, and someone accidentally turned off a light switch that operated the blower for the furnace. Here is was thinking I was in for a HUGE service bill to get my heat back on for the coldest Sunday in Atlanta EVER. The technician was HONEST and RELIABLE - I'll use them over and over again because I trust them. The tech told me that the switch had just been turned off - and I appreciated that because he could have told me anything!

Atlanta was in an unusual deep freeze earlier this week, and we had two different issues: the first was a toilet supply line and the second was the water supply line to the refrigerator. Late Wednesday afternoon when the ice broke loose I had water gushing everywhere. I got the water shut off to the entire house and started calling A-rated plumbers on Angie's List. I called 8. All but one of them were extremely responsive either by an immediate answer in the office or a call back within 3 hours. Every plumber in town was swamped with service calls - all with huge waiting lists - and I was on four of them. The first one able to get to my house was going to be the lucky winner since I had no prior experience with a plumber in the area. Katy was understanding, but explained that due to the volume of frozen pipe issues, I had to be placed on their call list with Saturday being the earliest possible day for them to get to my home. Mary called me on Thursday morning to let me know they would be able to get to me that day - she couldn't tell me exactly when - but he would call approximately 30 minutes before arrival to confirm...Yippee!!! Taylor called me at approximately 12:30 and was at my house 45 minutes later. I cannot compliment him enough on his thorough explanations of what I was faced with as far as repairs. He invited me to watch and left the ruptured pipe pieces for my husband to see. He had fixed the toilet supply line and we were testing for any additional leaks when we heard more water gushing. The refrigerator supply line had also burst. Taylor warned me in advance that drywall cutting would be involved to find the break, but also told me that he tries to be very conservative about the size of the hole. He was marvelous! This young man is a true asset to Reliable Heating and Air, along with the ladies in the office that communicated with me. I applaud their professionalism, customer service and value for services rendered. I would recommend them to anyone - and now I have a plumber!

I Called before noon and requested a service tech to come out and repair a freeze break. I was told they would be out on Sunday. They called me back in the afternoon and said someone was coming out this evening instead. Ladies at the office were nice and service was quick. I did not ask how much it would cost and I was not given a rate over the phone. I made a really bad assumption that it would not be too costly since we had already isolated the break, cut the sheetrock, and had the pipe exposed for easy repair. When the technicians got here, they said it would be a $90 service call plus $250 for the freeze break. I was shocked. I went back to Angies List and found that we should get $25 off repair since it was over $200. I called the office back to confirm the $25. Fifteen minutes later the freeze break was repaired which really made me even more upset that it was going to cost us $314 for a 15 minute job. That's $1,256/ hour!!! Even with drive time and cost to the technicians that is still an absolutely outrageous charge. How can that cost possibly be justified? I called their office back to see if they would be willing to reduce the price a little more since the job was so quick, but they said that was the price they were charging everyone and the $25 discount was the best that they could do. My husband & I will never call Reliable again because we feel as though we have been taken advantage of by having to pay $314 for a freeze break that took 15 minutes to repair. If I ever need a plumber again, I have learned from this experience to always ask about prices on the phone. I would highly recommend that Reliable be forthcoming with customers on their non-refundable service call prices and flat rate fees- even if not asked by the customer on the phone.

Reliable was very promp, courteous and clean. Scheduling the service call was quick and fast. The repairman called head and was on time and met all expections. He trouble-shot the problem,recommended a solution and changed out the GFI connection in the bathroom that was tripping the circuit very quickly. I was very happy with this service. I was less than happy with the total charges since I feel they were somewhat inflated. I don't undervalue anyone's services but I don't like to be overcharged either.

Reliable Heating and Air was a mixed bag of good and bad. Bad: Initial rep. spent more time unlocking the van with a coat hanger he borrowed from my neighbors since he locked the keys in the van. Indifferent: Got called twice by supervisor asking how I was going to pay. I told him I would either pay by check or credit card. At no point did he say if I was going to use the credit card to call in the information so it could be processed that way. Also despite being told I was considered medically fragile they could not or would not reschedule for faster install. So I had to wait 9 freaking days for a new furnace. Good: Jamal and Justin the installers were fantastic. My house was built before Cherokee County had many building codes. So the install was a very difficult one. No complaints at all with Jamal and Justin. Also the accounts receivable lady (Mary Ellen) I think handled my payment concerns with first rate service and professionalism. I will do business again with reliable and am willing to chock up the bad and indifferent parts to being stress (on their part) of the holiday season and the very sudden and intense cold snap.

They are timely, professional and clean up after themselves. I have used them for many years.

Replaced a defective high water pressure valve in my house.

Our furnace went out on a Saturday evening. We called Reliable and they were able to come out the next day on Sunday. They were very quick and very inexpensive for next day service on the weekend. Highly recommended.

They were on time and replaced my gas water heater professionally. They did a great job of installing it, fixing the leaks in the pipe, and cleaning up. Would sure recommend it.

The team arrived on time, as expected. They were very professional and efficient. The crew leader followed my list of requests above and beyond of what I was anticipating. They left each area clean and orderly. I have nothing but positive things to say about this company, and recommend them highly.

We called Reliable on a Sunday afternoon. I was petrified of what the cost might be to help stop a leak we had in our shower and restore our hot water. We called Reliable and an incredibly friendly technician squeezed us in at the end of the day (even though we were told that he likely wouldn't be able to make it.) He described and showed us the hot water issue (husband accidentally turned off the gas) and fixed our leaky shower. AND Reliable didn't charge us an arm and a leg! This is not the first time that Reliable has helped us quickly and, well, reliably. They have helped us previously with our HVAC needs. They were knowledgeable and friendly (even going as far as to try to help us when our home warranty company left us without heat for nearly 6 days on the coldest days of the year last winter!!!). I know I sound like a commercial, but they have earned my trust and my business for years to come. Thank you!

It is by 350-400 bucks. They had to replace a board but not any more simply unit. Other than going and getting unpacked done, a few parts from doing work from myself and one unit which other man that is why they came appointed with them. When my air conditioning is dying, they did pretty good. For the work that they did, I think, they were probably, fairly, reasonable. For the work that they did, it was good. They were great. They did not waste too much time. They were here when they said they are going to be. I think, I would do more looking around before I will call them.

When we first called about the hot water heater, Reliable came out that very day and replaced it. We didn't realize how badly it had deteriorated and Reliable was very responsive. The gentlemen who came were on time, they did the work, they cleaned up the old stuff and carted it off and through it all, they were very nice. A few weeks later, we called Reliable about our furnace. They immediately sent someone to check it, ordered the parts and promptly returned to do the substantial work involving supply & return plenums and dampers. They showed up promptly on the day of the appointment, worked hard all day and didn't leave until the furnace was fixed, the old furnace pieces were removed and the area cleaned. If we need any additional work of this nature, we will not hesitate to call Reliable. They are excellent!

The entire experience with Reliable was fantastic from start to finish. They were one of 3 companies we contacted to replace our air conditioning system. They came out very quickly and were extremely professional. Of the 3 companies we contacted, they were the middle price bid, but offered by far the best system. We accepted their bid and were scheduled for installation within a few days. The technicians arrived on time and with all of the materials ready to finish the job. They were very efficient and worked nonstop until our A/C was installed and working properly. The unit is great. It is much quieter than our old one and keeps the house at a great constant temperature. AND, after our one year warranty expires, we simply maintain an annual service contract with Reliable and we NEVER have to pay for a repair on our unit. I can't imagine how that could be beat. We will not call antone but Reliable in the future for our heat and A/C needs. They are just a real class operation.

Jeremy, Shaun, Phil, and Justin were our installers. They were on time, professional, courteous, and very respectful of our home (I liked them so much, I grilled burgers for them at lunch time). With four guys here, they were able to knock out the job efficiently and in a reasonable amount of time. Daniel was our sales guy and so far everything he promised has been true. We're looking forward to lower power bills and many years of hassle free comfort. Thanks!

I was informed by our pest control person that he smelled natural gas strongly in the attic. I immediately called Reliable and they had someone out within an hour. They charged a diagnostic fee for coming and looking at the problem. 5 minutes later they found that the HVAC system in the attic had a loose connector. They tightened the connector and checked all the surrounding connections and said everything else was perfect. No additional charge was requested for that service. The two gents that came to the house were very courteous, clean and polite. They gave me a call to let me know they were on their way, they explained what had happened and that it's not normal but it shouldn't be a problem going forward since they sorted it out, and that it's probably been that way since our house was built (in 2011).

Did Diagnostic testing on one HVAC system and fall service check up on another. |Although the diagnostic was thorough and in line with info from another company, Reliable's price for the repair was double compared to another non-Angie's List company. However, I will call Reliable for future HVAC services when needed.

They did a great job. The price they offered us was lower than any other prices that we received for comparable units. The sales person was also very up front about what we did and didn't need. When the installers came, not only did they install both units in the same day, but they also relocated the units from the back of our house to the side, which included re-routing lines underneath the house. They didn't charge any extra for this service. Since we purchased the units, we've used them for scheduled maintenance and have always been happy with their service. I would definitely purchase units from them again in the future.

Steve arrived and looked at my system. He quickly determined the problem and showed me the batteries in my thermostat leaked and damaged the wiring. He replaced it and my system was back online. He also replaced my Aprilaire filter because my old filter was dirty and I am still not comfortable doing it. I am very happy Reliance had the bandwidth to come out and repair my system. It is getting cold in my area and I did not want to wait three days or more to get it repaired.

Wu (spelling?) came on a Sunday and was very professional. He did the job quickly and was courteous. Our heat was back on in no time. He took time to explain components of the heating system to me.

Let me start off by saying they were friendly and courteous but it was difficult getting a simple estimate. It started off on me getting an estimate on getting a thermostat put in. He came on a Saturday and was friendly but had to wait for him to get off the phone with his wife. He said I would get an estimate on Monday morning. No phone call Monday morning and also he forgot to turn the furnace switch back on which I had to do myself, probably because he was distracted by personal phone calls. I called in the afternoon and they said we call you right back, no phone call back. I called several hours later and they said the lady who did that already left. I asked to speak to a manager and he gave me the quote off of the top his head. Why did I pay $90 if he could just tell me? Their computers were down but their phones weren't. Very disappointed in them because I need a good heating/AC company and these guys can't respond well to a simple estimate on a thermostat. Very disappointed.

Our HVAC system worked well until "Reliable" upgraded it. After the upgrade, it would not cool or heat well enough to maintain a constant temperature. After several attempts by their service technicians to resolve the problem, we were told that the unit could not have run well before we contacted them. They refused to work on the unit any further. Their service technician inferred to me that good reviews on Kudzu were created by employees. A complaint to the BBB was refuted by blaming us for the problem. The owner rudely told me off for being angry about the situation. A complaint to TRANE resolved the problem when TRANE engaged Ragsdale Heating & Air to fix it. I works well now and we have a maintenance contract with Ragsdale. I had to file suit in court to receive a refund for the Aprilaire unit. I won because the owner did not bother to attend the hearing and sent an employee instead without any authority to settle.
