In 2010, we replaced a 25 year old AC unit and furnace with a new, dual-zone high efficiency unit to accommodate our basement addition. The crews that worked through the installation were fantastic, and worked alongside our general contractor to ensure we got the most ceiling height available during the basement finish. Last November during winter cutover, Reliable discovered that our upstairs furnace was in bad repair and unsafe for the house. They put me in touch with sales and we purchased a new H/E furnace and AC unit for our top floor. Great pricing, and great customer service. We have had a few issues with a humidifier that was installed in the basement unit back in 2010. The service crews have always been on time and excellent at what they do. This is a GREAT company to work with.

Twenty year old Trane AC began failing a week ago. Decided to replace rather than repair due to age of system. Called Reliable and their representative came the next day (Sunday) and prepared a proposal for a new system and offered to install it two days later. Due to pre existing plans on our part, installation was delayed three more days. Technicians arrived when scheduled, did the removal of the old system and installation of the new one in three or four hours, went over the the features of the new system with us in detail, and did an excellent job of cleaning up before they left. The duct cleaning crew came the following day as scheduled and completed their work in a thorough and professional manner and also cleaned up well before leaving. Note: Neutral rating on price is due to the fact that I have been pleased with the routine maintenance work Reliable has done on the old HVAC system for several years and no other vendor was considered for purchase of a new system.

Our Trane HVAC that Reliable H&A installed suddenly failed to turn on. After a call to Reliable, I was surprised to hear they would be out the very next day (on a Sunday) to look at the unit. Barry showed up on time and was able to replace and re-wire some items that were defective (from Trane) so the unit would cool our home. He then scheduled a followup visit with new parts and spent many hours making everything perfect. Barry, just like all the techs at Reliable, go above and beyond to do a great job and take care of their customers. I am so glad to have them as my preferred HVAC vendor. And when I need plumbing or electrical work, they will be who I call!

Technician Chris did a great job and was very thorough.

Jake and Seth were very professional, arrived on time. They did not have a ladder long enough for our house (equivalent to almost a 4story), so they ran to Home Depot to rent one. They were quick and dedicated to getting it done on time. They answered all our questions and were patient with our dogs! We would recommend them for this service.

We have been customers of Reliable for over 25 years in 3 different locations and have always been impressed by their professionalism, attention to detail, excellent customer service and fair pricing. On this particular trip they went the extra mile and replaced parts of an AC unit that they did not install in a home we had built at no cost to us as it was covered by warranty, which we thought only covered parts. They worked with the manufacturer directly to make sure we were covered. Even though they could have charged us for labor, they handled things behind the scenes on our behalf. These are good folks to deal with for all your HVAC, plumbing and electrical needs.

I got the call at work as promised that the plumber was on his way and the expected time of arrival. Mr. Spires and I arrived at the same time, he introduced himself, got a good feel for what the problem was and got straight to work. I had bought the replacement product and he verified all parts were present. This was a bit of a problem area to work in and it took some real manual labor to get the old faucet off. Not to worry, Mr Spires was very persistent and very professional! All along, we kept in contact on how the replacement was going. He was so easy to talk to, and he was very much a perfectionist making sure that all parts were in proper placement and water pressure was just right, temperature just right. I will always ask for Thomas Spires for my future plumbing issues. We do have a couple of upcoming jobs to be done. We have used Reliable Heating and Air for our AC and heating maintenance for many years and a couple years ago replaced both AC units. These guys are GREAT!! Their professionalism, service and cleanup were very good. The staff was very nice.

They did a good job. When we initially talked I told them I was paying through credit. But when he got here he insisted that I pay through cheque which will be much easier according to him. I found that odd. That was the only negative thing and I probably won?t call him again because of that. He was nice but they asked me specifically how I wanted to pay but when he got here he said he?d rather have a cheque. I would not put them down in my evaluation but I probably won?t use their services in the future. They also said on their web page that the estimate will be part of the cost of the service in case you decide to use them. But he did not want to do that. So I had to call their office to confirm. I think that is just one person who does that. They did a good job. It is just the payment and this one guy I had a problem with. But I appreciated how he showed me how to do things.

It went very well. The owner's son came out and did the estimate. They are very dependable. The best price around. They are very responsive on call backs. They go the extra mile. I have recommended them to 4 other people and they all have been pleased.

John & Stan were on time, courteous, and fixed the leak quickly, while offering a less expensive solution.

For a few months, the outdoor AC unit has been tripping both the outside and inside breakers every once in a while. At one point, I reset the breaker and the unit arced some electricity at the ground near me. A bit scary, but I was fine. However, that did get me to place a call to get it checked. I didn't do much AL research, a neighbor actually recommended Reliable as they used them recently for some AC work and they said the prices were fair and service was good. So, I called the company and set up an appointment. Scheduling wasn't bad, but even in the 'off-season' they couldn't get me in for an appointment for more than a week out. I feel bad for people that have to call in the peak seasons. They did give me a quote up-front, which was nice. Anyway, the technician showed up on-time. I told him what the issue was (he actually thought he was here for another issue with the thermostat). He took a look and immediately diagnosed the issue I was having as an exposed wire. The wires in the condenser were never secured back, so one of them had been rubbing up against the outside panel of the unit, and after years of wear the wire became exposed. Thus why the unit was shorting out on occasion and why it arced. The technician said it would be an easy fix. He simply wrapped the wire in a couple layers of electrical tape and secured them so they wouldn't rub anymore. For the quoted price ($90 - $10 AL coupon), that was a bit much. But I just wasn't comfortable taking the machine apart, to be honest, so it was a reasonable 'peace of mind' payment. Once he was done outside, he said he'd just take a quick look at the inside unit to make sure it looked OK (they are required to do a point-to-point inspection on each visit). He noted that our filters were dirty (it had been about 2.5 months since I last replaced them), and asked if we wanted him to replace them for about $7 each. The price seemed comparable to store pricing, so I OK'd it (though I am not sure what level of filtering the new filters are rated for). He then mentioned that he noticed I had no brackets to hold the filters in place (I had been using a combo of wood/duct tape to hold them in place, which was working fine). He then offered to install some, saying it wouldn't be that expensive. I said OK. It took him another 20 minutes or so to install the brackets. But, turns out it was an ad-hoc job, not installing actual formed/store-bought brackets. He did mention earlier that it would just be some pliable aluminum, but I didn't know he'd be making the brackets himself. Regardless, they do work, so I was OK with that. The 'not expensive price' was about $45. A bit high, IMO, for the job, but not outlandish. The final total bill came to around $130, I believe, which included tax and the AL discount (he actually gave me 10% instead of just $10 off, which for the higher bill than quoted, was a better deal). In short, I'll probably use Reliable again, as they performed the job well and didn't try to upsell services I wasn't interested in. Overall, relatively pleased with the service.

They were very good. They were great in their evaluation. If you use a coupon it's a great price.

It was the worst service I've ever had from a company. I did not like them, I don't like what they say on the phone. They came out and charged me one fee and then they wanted to put in a new system. This guy that was out for one fee and when I called about it, they quoted me another fee and it was like 2 weeks, I didn't have air conditioning and they were horrible to deal with.

Initial date provided by scheduler was too far in the future, so after a brief hold, they were able to get me an appointment in a much more timely manner, which was greatly appreciated. Very professional, efficient. Very happy with their service.

They did a good job in installing it. They did some extra work, as far the duct work in the house. They had to come back a couple of times, because we had one bedroom that was not being cooled properly, and they had to redo the duct work properly, but it is okay, and very good now. We had to call them several times for them to come back and solve the problems, and I didn't think the people in the office were on the same page sometimes.

They were ok and I would probably call them again.

Reliable bid as well as 2 others. Their quote was similar in pricing (lower than 1, higher than 1, but none far off) but the specs were much more detailed and thorough, giving me confidence in their attention to detail. It was also great to have 1 company manage all of this rather than separate contractors. The HVAC installation was great - they finished in the allotted time, the technicians were EXTREMELY courteous and professional, and the systems work great. Foam insulation was also well done by courteous team, but it caused a couple of clogs to the new units (from the dust), and they immediately send technicians out to fix it. The final part of the installation, the water heater vent, was very challenging, as we were bring to fit new vent piping to a very old house and an old tankless heater. They persevered, searching everywhere for suitable parts. In the end, after multiple visits, we were not able to get the heater working with the new vent. I felt bad about the time they were spending on this small piece of the project, but they followed through and were not going to give up. Ultimately they took full responsibility and offered to install a new water heater at a discount, and on a Saturday so we wouldn't be without hot water for too long. We were very pleased with the entire team's commitment to service and completing the job.

Technician showed up as scheduled. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and interested in solving our problem which was caused by freezing temperatures during the winter. We were pleased with the work and the overall professionalism of the technician. We used Reliable for a previous project and will use this company again.

I am very pleased with Reliable Heating and Air. I received several quotes and they were priced a bit below the other companies and had better reviews too. They did exactly what they said they would do. They have been very responsive since the sale-the air was not cooling one hot day and I called to see what could be done and they sent someone out that night-he was efficient and identified the problem within minutes. They seem to appreciate my service. Several weeks after the installation I received a box in the mail-they sent a small token of their appreciation knowing that I had a choice when it came to picking an HVAC company. I would recommend them to my family and friends.

I have a rental with a management company. They called in a fix-it guy who gave me 30 different stories about how my AC unit was on its last legs. I decided I needed to call in professionals. I called Reliable to get a professional opinion. They went in, called back and said I only needed a condenser, put it in and everything was back to normal and working fine.

I was surprised that we got an appointment "anytime" the next day. Unfortunately they called me at 4:30pm and said the guy was on his way. At 8:00pm, I got a call from the service tech that he was 30 minutes out. I told him not to come, that we are up at 3:30am for work and explained that I had been expecting him since 5:00pm. I got a call 30 minutes later from dispatch with an apology about crossed wires. We rescheduled for 9am the next morning and the tech came as scheduled. The unit wasn't clean, we had never been told to rinse it monthly so the tech cleaned it thoroughly. He pronounced the motor to be intact but said he needed to change out the capacitor as it was damaged. He changed it and went to check the Freon level, which was when things went bad. He released about a pound of Freon in the air before he could get the connections tightened. So yes, I got a full replacement at no charge. He checked a couple of connections and turned the unit back on. It was blowing cold air and he left. One week later, we are in the middle of a heat wave of over 90 daily and the until is running 15 degrees over what the thermostat is set. I called yesterday to get a return visit and they have scheduled me 5 days out. I suspect there will be more to this story. But after talking to someone at work that has had an equally bad experience with Reliable, I will not be calling them after this issue is resolved. I honestly hoped it would be a good experience because I need a couple of plumbing items fixed but not now. The third technician, Evan, came out about 10 days after our second visit. He told me that we could have run the fan (at this point it had been in the 90s). He also told me that the second technician was no longer with Reliable. Discovering Evan was from the Fayetteville office was a good surprise. He very efficiently replaced the compressor, refilled the unit with coolant and gave me his number to call him directly if the unit didn't continue working. He was the only bright spot in our experience with Reliable. I don't think I'll call them again though. Their office staff isn't friendly and doesn't follow up. Way too much money on a 6 year old unit and frankly it still isn't working well. Don't know how they maintain an A rating with the service we got.

I have no complaints. They were very good. They did everything that I would expect someone to do. I would give them the highest marks. The fellow who did the work was very experienced and I am just very satisfied with everything they did. I would definitely call this person again. I was self-confident that he really knew what he was doing. I realize that they have to drive a long way to get here and he had the equipment, the knowledge and so forth and knew what to do. So I don’t think that the price was too much. I will not only call the same company but I will request that this person come out.

Reliable offered a good price and excellent service. The techs were efficient and cleaned up completely. They answered my many questions and explained how the system worked. The only downgrade in punctuality is for a follow up visit where a different tech did not come or call in the allotted service time.

I had actually called last year and received an estimate for replacing my 20+ year-old units, but didn't follow thru. I called again in May 2014 to update the previous estimate and schedule an install. I used the same sales rep, Mick, and the company honored last year's estimate. I did an upgrade from the standard system to a variable-speed 2-stage gas furnace and 13 SEER A/C. The estimate included a new condensate pump and new drain pans, outside pads, and touchscreen dehumidification digital thermostats for both units. They also included a 2-year service warranty. I scheduled the install for the following week. To ensure completion of the installation on one day, Reliable sent 3 technicians out for the job. They arrived at the promised time and proceeded to remove the old units and install the new ones. Kainan S. replaced the attic furnace, Justin Q. replaced the basement furnace, and Nathan replaced the outside condensers. They were professional, quiet, and I was very pleased with their work. The warehouse had only one of the contracted units in stock, so Reliable upgraded the other unit to a 16 SEER A/C at no additional cost to me. I selected Reliable based on their excellent and numerous reviews on Angie's List, the professionalism of the sales rep, and the price - not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. Since a warranty is only as good as the company behind it, I liked that Reliable is a long-standing and large business. They offer a lifetime warranty as long as I maintain a service agreement with them, so we'll have to see how that works out. I am very pleased with my decision and the work performed by thus company.
