Since 1978, Reliable has offered home services with exceptional reliability and customer service. We offer more financing options than any other company, even Comfort as a Service, a hassle free way to get energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, water heaters, water purification even generators for a low monthly payment and all repairs, maintenance even filters are NO additional CHARGE EVER. Reliable takes care of everything. That is an UNBEATABLE LIFETIME WARRANTY.
This company continues to amaze me. Back in March, we learned that our 20+ system was leaking freon, and I began to get quotes. Costco sent out a company that charged us $1000 more than our $5000 quote from Reliable for a system that was inferior to the one from Reliable. In addition, Reliable's quote included adding ductwork and an additional 'return' for our bonus room (over the garage) that was never comfortable in the summer or winter. When they installed our first system in the basement - nearly five years ago - it was winter time. We were still REALLY cold after the install. I called the company and they sent a guy out who's only job it was to design systems, location of duct work, thermostats, etc. He determined that our thermostat was in an incorrect location due to the airflow that was around it and that we needed to have some duct work rerouted. At Reliable's expense, an additional return and duct work was added and our thermostat was moved. We have used Reliable for the annual service as well, so, in nearly five years' time, there have been a number of service calls. EVERY time that they have sent out a technician, he has been a high-caliber/clean cut employee who was also competent and got the job done right the first time. I can not say enough good things about this company. They are HUGE, and I normally stay away from big companies because of the poor customer care, but these guys have done it right!
Description of Work: Reliable installed our third HVAC system for us in our 3-story house.

A month ago, Reliable was out at my house. They replaced a capacitor in one of my AC units. A week later that same unit malfunctioned again in the same way, however we were about to go out of town for a two week vacation. So I set an appointment for the morning after we returned. The appointment was specifically "first thing" with a range of 8-10 AM. I called just before 9 AM because I had not received the 30 minute courtesy call yet. They informed me it would be 9-11 for the technician to come out, because the woman had seen him that morning getting parts. She assured me I would receive my call before he came out. I just called again at 11:45 AM, still having heard nothing and clearly getting unhappy at this point. I was told that the technician "somehow mixed up his appointments and went to someone else's house first". Sure, that makes me feel really appreciated as a customer. If I in fact need a new unit (which I am fully expecting), you can be assured I will shop my needs to companies that want my business. I'll update when I know more.

They come when they say and they did an excellent job with the installation. I’ve been using them for about 6 years now. They come in and cover their shoes so they don’t track in any dirt. They’re always very very punctual.
Description of Work: They come and do maintaince twice a year. Once on the heating unit and once on the air. They put in new filters and I also have a whole house air system that they service and then they clean up

I waited more than a week for an appointment to check out my A/C unit. When they showed up; the coil was completely frozen. Rather than waiting 30 minutes for the coil to thaw; I was told they were too busy to wait and I would have to re-schedule the service. This of course was after requesting my $89 service payment up front. They re-scheduled me for the next day at 4:00 pm, meanwhile it was too hot not run my unit, the guy showed up early at 1:00 pm and would not wait again for the coil to thaw. Finally, I got the the original serviceman back at 8:00 pm the following day and he conduct the check out and repairs. He charged the A/C unit with 5lbs of coolant charging me $79/lb for the first and $69/lb for the remaining 4 lbs required. This is for coolant that sells at $65 to $125 for a 25lb container. It took all of 15 minutes to re-charge the unit. Next HVAC contractor I have service my equipment; I will research their pricing upfront before agreeing to their service.

We received several quotes from reputable HVAC companies to take a look at our three systems in our older home. Reliable (Frank Vlahos) was the only company that was honest with respect to our needs and did not attempt to sell us three complete systems. We will definitely need to replace one of them in a year or so, but not now. The installers Dustin Duck and Belter Flores were polite, courteous, prompt and did a great job on the installation...thanks so much! We will see you all again soon.

Electrician Terry Mabry replaced the electrical line for my dishwasher - the previous line was not long enough and had been shorted out by a dishwasher repairman. Terry was very professional, competent and took the time to explain everything to me. There was a big jagged hole in the wall where the original line came out. He put a cover on that and ran the replacement line from a new point that looked a lot better - even though no one will really ever see the very nice work. Even though this was a very simple job, I think he went above and beyond and would definitely use Reliable Electrical again.

I had never used Reliable before but my son had. My son was also not comfortable with the proposal made by another company I had used in the past. The house I purchased had a 17-year old system in the attic that was insufficient and energy-draining. Stan Baily came out and made an inspection and explained what needed to be done. He also explained potential installation problems due to the tight space in the attic where builders had "cut corners." He gave us an estimate but also warned that there might be a price adjustment due to potential problems in installing a larger unit. Jamal and his crew came out and right away Jamal knew some adjustments would have to be made. The installation would have to be horizontal rather than vertical due to the limited space (my son and I saw for ourselves the problems with putting in a larger unit.) Stan made sure that my son and I were clearly advised of any adjustment in the cost and an opportunity to cancel. Despite the increase in cost, it was still below other estimates. Jamal and his crew worked all day for two days, building a new platform to refit the larger unit, reinforcing the attic floor, etc. I was very pleased with the work Jamal and his crew did despite the awful heat in the attic. Stan came out during the installation to check on everything and even came by a few days after installation when I had a question about the air flow (which was nothing more than adjusting the vents.). Unless some drastic problem comes up in the future that changes my opinion, at this time I can say I am happy with their work and would use them again

The Reliable technician arrived as scheduled for an appointment on 6/19/15 but was only able to a**** for an equipment upgrade and/or recommendations to our current system. Our assumption was that the service appointment and estimate would be provided at the same time. The technician told us that he was not informed of our request for the service and did not have the necessary tools. The technician did spend a good amount of time inspecting our current system and came up with multiple recommendations to improve our existing system as well as replacement options. He told us he needed to work up some numbers and would be back to us the following week. As of today, even after a follow up email we have not heard back from the first technician. We went ahead and did scheduled a service call for the following Friday 6/26/15 with Reliable. We do understand that all Heating and Air Service Companies are extremely busy during the current heat wave but when scheduling the second appointment for service we were never made aware that we were on a work-in status. We only found this out when we called Reliable mid afternoon on 6/26 when we had not heard from the technician. This is when we were first informed that we were on a work in list and the technician would call 30-45 minutes before arrival and if we wanted a firm appointment they were booked until late July / first part of August. We asked how late we should/could expect a technician to work and were told it could be as late as 10 pm or after. At ~ 7:30 pm we received a call from the technician and were told that it would be after 10 before he could get to us. We were headed to dinner at the time and told him to call 30 minutes before and we would determine if we wanted to have him start the service call or roll our work-in appointment to Saturday. At ~9:00 pm we received the call that the technician could head our way, but were in the middle of dinner at a restaurant and told the technician that we would have to roll the work-in appointment to Saturday. He said he would try to get us in for the morning. At ~11:00 am Saturday we called into Reliable's office to check to make sure we did get rolled onto the work-in list and they did confirm. At ~ 2:30 we received the call from the technician that he was on his way. When he arrived he informed us that the only "service" that he could perform was to correct some duct work in our attic that had pulled away and was noted by the technician from the previous week's inspection. When we questioned the technician on service to the existing unit (i.e. cleaning coils, testing freon levels, ect) we were told we would have to schedule another appointment as he was only authorized to fix the duct work in the attic as he had 6 or 7 more appointments on his books for the day. We asked the technician to leave without performing any service as it was going to cost a second service call and a third day off from work to have the service done which we thought we had originally scheduled the week prior. We would rather start over with a new company than continue with Reliable.

Bottom line. BEFORE Considering doing any business with reliable - please verify and guaranty their written confirmation to the service level commitment. New installed units have KNOWN defect parts in them !! My specific example is the TXV issue, as claimed "a random trouble that is related to a series of condenser models" - check for your self... just read the reviews on the web...

They did not apologize to me, or adjust price. I was very happy with the originally. They have gotten too big, and have lost their edge.
Description of Work: On my mother's home, in Roswell, the tenant informed me that the A/C was not working. The provider came out and informed his parts department what part was needed. He assumed it had been order at that point. He came back out to do the repair a week later. The parts department then told him that he had something on his truck that would work. He said he did not, and the parts department then actually ordered the part. . My tenant ended up having to wait 2 weeks without A/C. I was also left waiting for hours, on another service call, until 11 or 12 in the evening.

Let me state that I understand the stress on HVAC companies with the extreme heat. It is a hot, thankless job I am sure. So kudos for those out there working their butts off, I admire you. I have been a Reliable customer for several years. In the past they have been attentive to my needs, did a great job installing my Trane. However, I think they have grown too fast and cannot keep up with business. I am a service maintenance customer, I pay the yearly maintenance fee. (I just had the maintenance performed on 3/20/15 and I change my filters religiously.) The contract states that as a service maintenance customer, I will receive priority treatment. When I called Friday 6/19/15 at 2:52 because my upstairs unit was not working, (not cooling), I was told it would be 3-4 days. I have been patient, everyone sleeping downstairs on the floor in my house for 5 nights. I called 6/22 at 8:09 a.m. and I was told I'm still on the standby list. When I mentioned that I was a service maintenance customer and my contract states I have priority, I was told "you typically do, but with the extreme heat we have had, maintenance agreements do not have priority, other issues such as human emergencies, those with only one unit, and medical issues are the only ones that have priority". I do understand the emergencies priorities, but train your customer service people, you DO NOT tell a service agreement customer that during extreme heat you do not have priority, that sets you up for breach of contract. When I asked how many service technicians they have, I was told, "Oh, I don't know, maybe around 40'ish", the exact words. When I called at 9:55 this morning, I was told I was still on standby. I asked if the technicians worked weekends and if the weekends were included in the wait time. They told me yes. So I said, well you are way past due. On my first call on Friday I was told it would be 3-4 days. It is now Wednesday, 5 days later with no indication that I will receive service any time soon.
Description of Work: Has not come out for service. Last maintenance performed 3/20/15. Cost is for service agreement.

My air conditioning stopped working, so I called Reliable Heating & Air to schedule an appointment. They said they were very busy and their target window was 72 hours, which I accepted. I called back 48 hours later to make sure everything was ok and that I was still on the list, and they assured me that I was. I am writing this review six days later, 2x the target window, after never hearing from them again. My air conditioner was fixed yesterday by another company, whom I contacted after "Reliable" never showed or called.

I called Reliable and the tech came out and checked both units out. I told him that Freon had been added last year - my concern was a leak. When he was done, he said he added Freon and the units were working. I asked if the leak was fixed and I can't remember his exact response, but it was affirmative. I'm not sure about the cost because I can't find the check but it was more than I was expecting. However, the problem is on 6/22, just over 30 days from this first visit (the first tech came out on a Wednesday-either 5/13 or 5/20), my units are now both blowing hot air. I called today and told the service lady about this and the first thing she says is "well, it's been over 30 days"-meaning since the tech was here. Barely. So now I have to pay for another service fee and visit for what? What the tech should have done the first time? Now, here my daughter and I sit in stifling heat and the new tech won't be able to be here till 6/30. Well, if they had done their job right the first time, we wouldn't be in this situation. I bet you the leak is still there and the Freon leaked out. Thanks for nothing!

Where do I begin? I wish I could rate this company higher. They did some things right. But they also made some errors that caused me some frustration. HVAC: The inspection and re-charge on both my HVAC systems was fine, but within two weeks I experienced a clog in the drain line on the main-floor system that burnt out the condensate pump and caused me to replace the pump and the line (I had to use another company because I took advantage of home warranty coverage we have on this new home purchase). It seems they might have found that the line was coated in sediment and could be problematic, but I can definitely excuse this oversight. Plumbing: We replaced the water main on the recommendation of Reliable. I would do it again, knowing what I know now, but the fact is that we were not presented, at the time of the service, with all of the relevant information, and some of the information we were given was not correct. I am glad we did it, though: it's a much better water line than was in the house previously, and anyone with eyes can see that. But, the people who came out to dig the ditch for the water line hit the sprinkler system and tore it to shreds. Jesse was able to remedy that, with the help of John, the plumbing manager. Jesse worked on the pipes leading to the sprinkler in the pouring rain! They later sent out a sprinkler repair guy at their cost to repair the system, and everything is working now. I also have no doubt that the water main will work for many years to come. Jesse also replaced my water heater, in the evening, while I was out, and did an amazing job. Another visit I had for a whole house inspection was a little lackluster. The plumbers could not find the water shutoff valve. Granted, it was behind a drop ceiling, but it is visible if you get on a ladder and look above where the main enters the house. Certainly a plumber should be able to find it. Also, they turned a pipe "lid" so that the bump was to the inside, and without cleaning out the gunk inside the bump, turned it facing out (to the interior of my home). When I asked about it, the plumber stated "oh, that will have to be cleaned" and if I hadn't directly asked him to clean it, I doubt he would have. Gross. Electrical: The first electrical appointment was a whole-house inspection. One of the main problems I wanted repaired was my whole house fan, and the employee (I won't name him here) said he would order it and get back to me. I wound up having to follow up about this myself. I also asked about the house ventilation fans in the attic, and this employee stated that, because he could not reach those fans, he could not determine whether they worked. He recommended that I climb up to the attic on a hot day to see for myself sometime. He also recommended that I have a blank put over an exposed outlet at a cost of $99 and install two GFCI outlets at a cost of $305 EACH. A blank is a piece of plastic. Seriously. And the labor involved there is about 30 seconds. After I called to complain, the electrical manager sent Justin out. Justin and his partner Dave were amazing. They came out and did all the work in the list above, and did it to professional standards. They worked on into the evening and made sure we had everything we needed done, DONE. They were pleasant and professional. The work was obviously quality. So, I have very mixed feelings at present about Reliable. I am the kind of customer that enjoys developing a relationship with a company and when I find one that I like, I am a loyal customer. I am not sure that I will continue with Reliable as a whole. I will definitely call their electrical department again and I would specifically request Justin. I would also request Jesse if I needed plumbing work. I am on the fence about the HVAC. The truth is, it will take some time to come to trust the company as a whole. I was told by the plumbing manager that the information I received about the water main was incomplete due to the lack of experience of his guys. I was told by the electrical manager that just because an employee is not as socially competent or able to use good judgment regarding pricing, that is not a reason not to hire them or keep them on staff. I was told by both managers that I could call and request certain employees. These issues hurt a business, and the attitude from the top at this company appears to be a little bit laissez-faire about the level of competence of their employees. I want to know, when I do business with a company, that I will receive the same level of honest, professional service each and every time I call. I truly believe their hiring/training practices are in question here, as the service I have received has been erratic-- only when I have had serious issues have they sent their best people out to make it right. They have made it right in every instance, but I have had to keep at them.
Description of Work: HVAC: check-up and re-charge freon. Plumbing: replaced water main, replaced kitchen and bath sink faucets, re-worked kitchen sink drain line, ran gas line to deck from inside, replaced gas line to water heater. Replaced water heater. Whole house plumbing inspection. Electrical: full-system checkup, re-wire circuit box for home, replace attic fan and repair second attic fan, repair whole house fan (replace motor), grounded house, installed exterior GFCI plug.

When Reliable sent Jason Bouchard over to quote me on my ac installation needs I thought it was going to be in,out ,and done. NOT IN THE LEAST !. Jason was very knowledgeable in providing me with advise as to what I need. It was a pleasure talking with him. Gary Pittman the installer was sent to our residence. He was right on time. He was very nice to talk to. In our conversation he told me of his 40 year experience with heating and air installation. This was quite impressive. After our conversation he started to work and worked very hard for several hours. When he had finished the job I did a walk through and noticed just how comfortable the house felt inside. In fact,it felt better than what the old ac unit was able to produce. This man is very good at what he does and a great asset to Reliable Heating and Air. Thanks Reliable for sending these people over. Keep up the good work..

Update. After flooding our basement due to improper install of central home dehumidifier, the company promised to send the very best person they had to install a new replacement. Less than one year later the 2700.00 unit is not working. The tech. showed up just after 6pm. My appointment was to be before 1:00. So grateful this tech is a supervisor & discovered the problem quickly & explained it very well. The so called best install guys the OWNERS of Reliable sent out after they caused major damage to our home installed the unit the wrong way Again. The install was so wrong it in no way was close to the few options in the install manual. The 1 honest man who seems to know what he's doing showed me how improper the install was & promised to get someone out here to fix it. So, more waiting .... and hoping the 3rd install is good after seeing 10 bad reliable techs. in one year. I am only using them because I can't afford someone else to correct their bad work. I know for an absolute fact Reliable has quite a few techs that Do Not Know what they are doing, the owners may even send one to your home when something goes seriously wrong & you will not know until your unit just stops working.
Description of Work: Appointment was to fix less than 1 yr. old central home dehumidifier installed by Reliable but the poor over worked tec. showed up after 6pm for an appointment window 10 - 1. He could not fix it. I must say at least this tec. was good as he figured out the problem. See below. More waiting on UN-Reliable.

The plumber, I believe his name was Tony, showed up within a couple of hours of my call. He took a look at my shower then used a pressure gauge to test the overall pressure of my house it was determined that the pressure into the house was fine. Tony then shut off the water supply to the house and disassembled the faucets and said that they looked fine. After spending about 30-min troubleshooting the plumber told me that in all likelihood the problem was that the shower valve needed to be replaced. This would consist of knocking a whole in the shared wall between my shower and bathtub to access the valve for replacement. The estimated cost of the job would be just under $600 not including the cost of the valve and I was informed that when we were ready to proceed to call and we could schedule the job. The plumber then turned on the water supply back to the house, however, the shower was leaking which it wasn't doing before the plumber worked on it. He said that when he took the faucets apart, that "something must have been knocked loose" and that it was further evidence of emanate failure of the valve. He then tightened the faucets down to slow the leak but not stop it. At this point the plumber left. After he left my wife and I realized that the only thing that wasn't checked was the shower head, we happen to have an extra $30 shower head that we bought a year ago that was never used. We replaced the head ourselves and the problem with the low pressure and hot and cold not mixing correctly was solved. However, I have leaking shower that I did not have before. I just paid $90 for this plumber to not find the correct cause of the problem and then leave me with a leak that I did not have before. While I love the work this company does on my HVAC system after this experience I will not be going back to them for any plumbing problems/repairs that I need.
Description of Work: Contacted Reliable to look at an issue with the Master Shower. Had a problem with the master shower, I had a drop in water pressure and the hot and cold water wasn't mixing properly so the shower would run either too hot or too cold.
