First Fence of Georgia

I obtained 4 bids to remove old fence and install new wood fence. First Fence was middle of the road in price but I was impressed with their professionalism and willingness to price compete with other companies. First Fence stayed in contact with me before and after the job. I might recommend they have customer service rep drop by site during installation to\ check on work and with homeowner. I had several installation issues and on site supervisor rang my door each time to get my approval. Part of the fence had to be moved to accommodate neighbor fence and another area pickets hung inward to accommodate back neighbors fence. I wish I had been warned of this on estimate as it is something they should have seen coming. Installer cut pickets short in one area to go over old stump. Area was way above ground which negated reason I installed fence in first place so 4 pound dog could not get out. I had they cut through stump and reinstall pickets in this area before I would pay them. I was very impressed that crew arrived on time and worked hard as a team through the three days of installation and in very cold and damp weather. Can't say enough good about their work ethic! Anyway, love fence but job could have been smoother with easier communication.

First Fence provided an estimate based on my measurements and pictures provided over email. The price was a little higher than other estimates to repair about 30' of fence that was destroyed by a vehicle, but I was impressed with their professionalism and ability to do business via email. They came out on the scheduled day, a little late but not so much so. The team of two took care of the install of the fence and removal of the old fence and did a great job cleaning up the work area. Well done.

The concern that were mentioned in the original review were corrected. The representative was very courteous and helpful.

Their service rep was very professional and helpful. Their pricing was competitive. We did not end up using them due to their lack of immediate (within 2 weeks) scheduling availability. We needed the fencing done right away and they run a 4 week lag time.

The guy came on a really cold day, so I was pleasantly surprised that they still came. They were quick, my husband supervised closely and so they had to make adjustments. They forgot the fence to bring the 9"L 5'H, so they had to make a 2nd trip. They showed up and quickly got to work and left in a hurry. They were messy and did not clean up the clumps of cements in the grass, on the left side the post was not aligned well to the left brick column (it was short about 4 inches, very noticeable) and in some places the puppy fencing did not touch the ground, so we will have to probably make sure to keep the pine straw up high to keep the puppy from getting out. I thought the price was a little high since most of the installation was the vinyl puppy fencing (16 inches high). I said I would use the company again because they were responsive; however if there was a Not Sure block I would have selected it. UPDATED: The guys returned and fixed the 4 inch gap between the fence and the brick column. I did not watch so I'm not certain how the repair was made; however it was corrected. As for the doggy fencing my husband and I actually made all the adjustments prior to the guys returning and picked up clumps of cement. Also, your guys left behind a measuring tape. I appreciate the response made to provide remedy to issues. Thank you!

We can't say enough good things, this turned into a custom fence and looks gorgeous. they were professional, on time, fast and the work was done maticulousely with great accuracy and precision. they removed every bit of the old fence and left the yard in better condition then when they started. We had other estimates from other companies and are so happy we chose the right one. Being new to Georgia and experienced with fence building,I have to say again how happy and lucky we were to choose them, can't say enough about how terrific this company and its installers are.

The work progressed rapidly and almost had the job completed by end of day. Only one gate remained and they came back the following morning to finish. the Lead Installer went over the plans with me before they started the work. I had only one issue with that last gate and the installer returned within a couple of hours to fix it to my satisfaction. I would call these guys again and may do so at a later date to talk about my backyard. Thanks so much.

It went poorly. We had used FF in the past for smaller projects and had no problems. So when their bid came in the lowest of 3 for our project, we had no hesitation in hiring them. It's difficult to explain all the ways that things went wrong, but these are a few highlights. One, their work day is astonishingly short. They were here on and off for weeks (months?) and there were only a handful of days on which they arrived prior to 10:30 am and stayed after 4 pm. Two, communication within their company and with their customers is poor and delayed. Several things had to be redone because of a lack of communication between the on-site head of crew and the off-site head of crew. This only served to further delay completion of the project (in all fairness, the project was delayed in part due to issues with the property line but their lack of timeliness and commitment to the job interfered to a much greater degree). Three, on the first day of the job, the crew showed up without the supervisor that we had previously met. I lacked confidence in their work from the very start when the head of the on-site crew did not seem clear about what he was to do. I had to get him started. There was a general lack of supervision throughout. We had specifically asked if they would be supervised throughout the project. That did NOT happen. We were also shocked at the lack of quality that their work exhibited at times. Overall, even though the fence turned out okay, and I mean JUST okay, several components had to be redone because they were sloppy or had not planned well or just did it to get it done rather than put some thought into situations that required a bit of creativity and some common sense. And, they did not bear the cost of redoing their work. Very disappointing. We will not use them again and when asked for a referral by others have advised against using FF.

They did a great job and corrected a small problem..

Not as I expected. Still waiting for the installation to complete and no ETA so far. Paid deposit on June 30th. Dave promised it can be completed before end of July - main reason I went with First fence even though their price was higher than the competitors with similar reviews.I've reached out to Dave who was pretty friendly to work with so hoping this can be completed ASAP. Work was finally completed on Aug 2nd. They showed up uninformed but by that time I just wanted the work to be completed. Tricia was understanding and helped address issues after that promptly. I had to call couple of times after that to nail couple of unnailed pickets and adjust gates. It took few days(2-3 days) to schedule but they were on time and fixed the issues even when we were not home. So I'd recommend using them in the future -preferably off-season when they are not completely booked 5-6 weeks out.

The Fence install went better than expected. Office Staff was pleasant and very helpful, we were advised of appointments and payments due. Crew arrived on time and ready to work. Care was taken with the install and all of the workers were productive. The end product was perfection and we would definitely recommend First Fence of Georgia.

We really enjoyed working with First Fence of Georgia. On the day of the job, the guys were courteous and showed up exactly on time. They removed the old fence and installed the new fence all in one day, and we love the end product. We are glad we went for the red cedar fence instead of just pressure-treated pine. They also installed the gate and lock. They cleaned up when the job was done and disposed of the old fence. The price was very reasonable compared with other quotes we had received -- it was right in the middle. The only downside was the time it took between signing the contract and actually getting the installation scheduled. First Fence gave us a heads up that it would take 3-4 weeks of lead-time, but that turned out to be two months. I had to call the office for an update on the schedule once the 3-4 weeks had passed. Otherwise, we are very happy with the quality of the fence and the overall experience, and would recommend First Fence to anyone looking to get a new fence installed.

They're good. They had built the fence in the first place. I've used them for 15 years. The price was exactly what my neighbor's insurance company reimbursed them for. It was one of those days when all trees in Decatur fell because of a storm so it took them a while but they got here. They were running late but they were having trouble so it was okay.

They're the cheapest and they do really good work. We had five different fence companies out and they were by far the cheapest. It went well. We had a few real 'hick ups' but the company's already working on them with us to fix it.

The installation went very well and on schedule. The fence has held up and still good after six years.

Great Communication from the company from estimate to job completion. They had to install through our woods and did a great job. My dogs can now run free. I am very happy with the work!

Although we did not use this company, I was very please with the punctuality and professionalism. I felt the price quoted was very fair.

After I called, they asked that I send photos of the damage so that they could write up an estimate. It took longer than usual for them to get back in touch. I called back after a couple of weeks and finally received an estimate. I thought that the estimate was on the high side, so I have not had it repaired yet. I like the work that they did on the original fence, so I do plan on using them at some point for the repairs.

I was happy with this company from the moment the sales consultant stepped on my property. He was very professional and shared a lot of details with me and differences between First Fence and others. The team arrived as close to the date scheduled (rain always a factor in GA) and I couldn't believe how quickly they completed the job...even with some drizzle off and on for part of one day. I fell that price was fair since it includes a great warranty...one that I have already had to use unfortunately and am about to again. The only complaint (and reason for them to come back) has been with the gate. It keeps needing adjustment and does not seem to be made as well as what one of the other companies that I met with had offered. I would still recommend First Fence!

The 2 workers that came worked very hard throughout the entire day.

I needed a fence in the backyard to contain my dogs. The yard consists of a small flat area that drops off into a long steep slope, and I only wanted the flat area fenced. Because it's such a small area, I wanted to keep it as open as possible while still having some privacy. The sales people I worked with were very patient and answered all my questions. I asked for several changes to the original proposal, and they quickly responded to all my requests. They ended up building a capped 6' privacy fence facing the street and along one side. And they built a rail-and-wire fence facing the slope and along the other side. I didn't like the way the rail fence looked from the back because you could see the black wire stapled to the rails. So I had them come back and sandwich the wire between two rails, which gives it a much more polished/finished look from both sides. The price was very reasonable. The crews worked diligently and left the yard clean. I'm pleased and satisfied with the final product, and I've received several compliments on the fence. The only downside is that if you need a building permit, you have obtain it yourself. I ended up spending the entire day at Atlanta City Hall to get mine. It would be great if First Fence offered this service for an additional charge. Nevertheless, I would not hesitate to use First Fence again or to recommend it to a friend.

Installed a wooden fence. I had some issues and really appreciate the involvement of the president to get the.m resolved. It's clear he cares about the reputation of his business.

I contacted first fence after seeing all the A+ reviews here and i am glad i did. They contacted me within a week , setup an appointment and gave me a quote at the property itself. What made me rate them A+ as well is their customer service and patience in getting the job done right. My HOA took almost 2 months to approve the fence plan , but until the day i finally received the written approval First Fence was really patient. After the approval they setup an appointment in about a week and finished the job in just under 2 days. Their price was reasonable and a job well done, will surely recommend them to anyone looking for a fence installation.

This was a very difficult job due to some foundation issues and the slope of my back yard. I was very concerned that it would be a problem for them, but they did a superb job. They built the fence to order, and I was extremely pleased with the result. The crew was great and worked very quickly. I had a minor issue in the first week or two, and the manager came out to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. They were great!

Called for an estimate for 6 Ft scalloped privacy fence for our back yard the middle of March. First Fence of Georgia was the first to responde and came out the following week. The other companies played telephone tag and one never called me back after leaving messages. The ones I did call said it would take over a month just to get an estimate. I said you must be kidding me??? The First Fence estimator was very professional and had ideas for us. We decided to go with them because of the great turn around time, quality of workmaship and cost. We signed the contract April 1, 2014 and the fence was installed April 23rd. The company kept us informed regarding rain delays and since we were not in a hurry this was okay with us. I still felt with all the rain they still installed our fence in a quick turn around time frame.The fence was installed in one day, clean up and completed and they even gave us a little wider front gate. I was very pleased with First Fence of Georgia and would recommend them to anyone wanting a good quality fence.
