Description of Work: I have a 600 square-foot deck of which they did a massive amount of repairs with. Also did a lot of work on trim throughout the outside of the house that had gotten rotten. Multiple other add on jobs were part of this as well.

Brad was very professional. We had an estimated start time as he was working on another job prior to mine. He communicated regularly with me prior to the start of my job, so that I had no concerns about whether or not he was going to be there. I had them install a screen system I had previously purchased that they were not familiar with. The system is fairly labor intensive to install, but they mastered it quickly and had no issues installing the new system. Brad was great at making suggestions for how to adapt the system to the structure we already had. He did a great job and we are very please with the end result.
Description of Work: Installed new screens on screened porch including installing and painting additional woodwork where needed.

We are very happy with Taylor Home Improvement. The owner Brad Taylor is a very professional, pleasant, intelligent, and fair person to work with. His assistant was also nice, clean-cut and polite, as well as knowledgeable in his work. They cleaned and re-grouted our shower which was turning black on all the bottom edges of the tile and the lining adjacent to the glass shower walls. In my child's room, they installed curtain rod hardware correctly and firmly, hung artwork precisely and evenly, and hung a wooden airplane from ceiling. In the 2-story family room, they cleaned the ceiling fan and replaced the bulbs and mini lamp shades. In the yard, they put together a gazebo with mosquito netting that we purchased at home depot. It was pretty complex and it took two men, the owner and his assistant, to complete it in two hours. I would have liked the gazebo to be anchored to the concrete, but by the end of the day we didn't have 4 men to lift up the gazebo and set it on the concrete slab so that it could be anchored. No big deal. I was super happy with all the work done, and when he comes back in June to paint and patch my garage and garage floor, I will ask him to anchor the gazebo to the concrete as well. The price was very fair, I don't remember the exact figure, but it was in the $400 to mid $400 range, which is a very fair price to pay for all these little jobs, while having them done accurately and professionally. Thank you Brad.

Taylor Home Improvement rebuilt a deck that was formerly a sun room. They replaced some of the boards that were deteriorating and redesigned the shape of the deck to give it a more modern and appealing look. In addition, they installed a sturdy and attractive hand rail around the deck that really gives it a nice finished look. I like the fact that they covered most of the fasteners with trim boards so that you don't see lots of screws or nails when looking at it. Brad and his team worked through some adverse weather conditions to complete the deck, but they never cut corners just to finish the job. I've used Taylor Home Improvement for 3 significant projects and have been pleased with the outcome every time. Brad is very easy to work with and puts a lot into the design aspect of projects so that the outcome is both structurally sound and visually appealing. I like that!

Taylor Home Improvement's Services included House Painting & Rotting Wood Replacement Brad Taylor and his team went the extra mile in making the needed exterior repairs to our 50-year old home. While we realized there was some rotting wood on the home we recently purchased, we learned there was more extensive damage to some of the structural components after Brad?s team removed the decayed trim pieces. They replaced even the 2 X 10 roofing components that had been damaged by a faulty gutter system. This required some ingenuity as the roof needed to be jacked up for support while the new framing was installed. Although the job required additional time, they stayed as long as was necessary to complete the work. When the rotting wood repairs were complete, the Taylor Home Improvement crew prepped the house for painting and began to use the paint I requested. In short, the paint didn?t apply properly but they were flexible enough to use an alternate brand upon my approval which was even better and the paint adhered properly and should be long-lasting. Because I wanted the replaced wood to be as maintenance-free as possible, they used pressure treated materials, Hardie Plank siding, and PVC trim components. The use of these materials will provide a good payback over time as they will require less ongoing maintenance. These are the 3 chief reasons Taylor Home Improvement earns a high rating: 1. Brad Taylor has the right temperament for a contractor. As such, he is easy to get along with and is receptive to ideas from the homeowner. In short, he wants to meet the homeowner?s expectations. His crew worked very efficiently, seldom took breaks, and did the job the right way. These days that brand of commitment is rather unusual. One example of the Taylor Home Improvement crew?s flexibility: Squirrel removal. The crew had replaced a portion of the soffit on the right corner of our 2-story home. As they prepared to paint this area they heard squirrels in the attic behind the soffit. Most companies would have stated ?this isn?t my job? (or would not have told the homeowner), but the Taylor Home Improvement crew pulled back the soffit and encouraged the squirrels to leave from both the inside and outside of our home. A ?critter ridder? company would have charged several hundred dollars. 2. His craftsmanship is structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing. It was important to us for the repairs to be solid, long-lasting, and attractive. In all 3 areas Brad and his team hit the mark. I found that Brad will take the time to evaluate new materials (even though they are not commonplace) that provide the homeowner more value. One example: They rebuilt the cupola on our roof (using modern materials that are resistant to decay) and replaced the sad, rotting wood. Further, they removed decades of paint from the metal wind vane components and painted the roof of the cupola with paint that gave it a hand-hammered copper look. I had priced replacement cupolas and figure that this one item alone saved us at least $500. 3. Brad is trustworthy and manages both the materials and labor that go into a job so that a homeowner gets fair value. I never had a concern that I was charged appropriately or that I received good value for our investment. In short, I highly recommend Taylor Home improvement and was very satisfied with the wood repair and painting his team did on our home.

I contacted Brad about some rotting window trim and basic sheetrock work. He rtned my call promptly, stopped by the house and quoted the job. That quote led to alot more work inside as his work and prices are both excellant. He has great attention to detail, cleans up every day and does what he says he's going to do! I would highly recommend him (and did, to several people). He has since done work for them (yard, stone and rock work) and it looks great. He is an all around great contractor and is very honest if you want something that is not his area of expertise. great guy!

In submitting the estimate Brad Taylor told me that my siding on the dormers was damaged and some needed to replaced before painting it. I had him replace all of the siding before the painting was begun. I will submit a separate report with the costs for that job. Brad Taylor worked with one other person to paint the house. They were wonderful. Very courteous and thoughtful. Excellent clean up. Very detailed painting with almost no paint where it should not be. I was extremely pleased. I was especially appreciative of the replacement of rotten wood and showing me the damage that needed to be repaired. Brad recommended that I contact my termite contractor because of evidence that he found. This was a good decision which I did immediately to learn that it was carpenter ants that would not like PVC. Brad recommended that I call the awning company about cleaning the awning before he put it back up. That was another good decision and we were all amazed how well the awning cleaned. Brad was a pleasure to work with and I would not hesitate to use him again.
Description of Work: Pressure washed house, repaired two fascia boards (at one corner), PVC nose replacement on triple window, PVC replacement of six small trim pieces, and one PVC brick molding, and painted entire exterior of house. This was a color change from ivory to extra white and required painting many places twice. I had to pay $220 more for the labor and PVC to replace the rotten wood but I thought that this was reasonable and I was informed about this and not surprised. I was not charge to remove old gutters that were going to be replaced. This allowed the house to be painted more thoroughly and properly prepared for new gutters. The house is 4 sides brick with a lot of trim and windows plus two dormers with siding on the second floor.

I contacted Brad Taylor to get an estimate for painting the exterior of my house. I had requested quotes from 4 contractors. I knew from one quote that I had maybe 10 pieces of siding that needed replacement. Brad informed me that the siding had been a part of a class action suit. When I researched this I learned that my siding was part of this class action so I knew that it all needed to be replaced. Brad Taylor's quote was very reasonable to replace all the siding on two dormers, which were second floor bedrooms. Brad showed me the damaged siding and kept me advised of the progress. Brad is intelligent and very personable. It was a pleasure to have such a conscientious contractor.
Description of Work: All of the siding on two second floor dormers, which were bedrooms, was replaced with Hardie Plank. I was very pleased with the precision that the siding was replaced with no fasteners showing and minimal seams which were caulked. This contractor is very neat and considerate. There was no damage done to the many plants next to the house and close to where the siding was dropped. He worked quickly and cleaned up so that there was nothing for me to do.

Brad promptly returned my call and came around to give us an estimate. He scheduled the work for the beginning of December. Due to extreme weather conditions, Brad kept in touch with us to reschedule the work. When the weather cleared up, Brad and his crew came out to repair the sidelights and pressure wash the house. On the following day, Brad and his crew came out to paint. My husband and I were very pleased with Brad's work and would highly recommend him to our friends, family, and neighbors.
Description of Work: Pressure washing of house. Sidelight repairs: Rotten wood at the bottom of sidelight were removed and replaced. The new wood was primed and painted. Painting - 4 double windows, front door & sidelights.
I couldn't be more pleased. He came two days after I called, gave me a detailed estimate and did not deviate from that estimate except where I asked him to do something extra. His price was extremely fair. It was a pleasure to have him working in my home. He was quiet, amazingly neat and put everything back in its proper place. I have asked him to come back to do more work.
Description of Work: Brad did touch-up and trim painting both inside and outside my home. He made numerous repairs to chips and nicks and holes, as well as some major repairs to windows, porches and deck. He also repaired several light fixtures and outlets and the garage door opener.
